I consider myself to be a bit of a breakfast aficionado and I must say Another Broken Egg Cafe provided some top tier food for my to go order. The biscuit beignets are exactly what they sound like and absolutely delicious. The maple chicken apple sausage was also good. The smoked salmon benedict was yummy but I'm also a sucker for bagels, smoked salmon and poached eggs so I'm not shocked I enjoyed it so much. I also got the peach cobbler pancake which was a bit of a disappointment but I think maybe if I had eaten in the restaurant things might've been different (or so I hope). There seemed to be more granola than peach compote and my whipped cream was MIA. I would for sure go back but my biggest take away for everyone reading this is try the biscuit beignets, dip it in the sauce provided and thank me later. read more

Our first visit to this new location did not begin well at all. We had a party of 7 and wanted to sit together. For some reason, whomever was running the front, could not seat us for almost two hours. I know we should have left after the first hour, but because of the time of day, it was Sunday and the size of our party, we'd have to wait even if it was the local Ihop. I don't know what the problem was or what was happening in the background, but no one bothered to get a manager's help until we finally requested to speak to him. He apologized profusely and thanked us for sticking it out. He was nice enough to comp our brunch as well. The four in our party had to leave due to a prior engagement, although they should have stayed, hindsight..........The three of us that stayed, enjoyed the eggs benedict, cinnamon roll french toast, beignets and their homemade corned beef hash. Everything was good and since we were starving - we ate it all up. The home fries that came with the benedicts looked perfectly cooked, but without seasoning - not a deal breaker since there's salt, pepper, hot sauces. The corned beef hash had an interesting texture, it was almost like scrapple. I was expecting something more substantial that required the chewing of a discernible meat and potato. This seemed to be pureed together and grilled into a patty. It tasted good, it was just presented in a way that we had never experienced before. The wait time and front of house staff does merit one star or less, but the manager gets four stars for doing his best to rectify a bad experience. read more

The shrimp were seasoned to perfection but the texture of the grits were a little to mushy. I got a small order of biscuit beignets that were fried too hard to eat. One of the best places I have ever worked. Everyone there truly cares about their job. There was never big drama, and none of the staff ever complained about their tables, unlike other places I have worked. I always monitor the reviews, and 90% of the bad reviews that pop up at the end of the day are the customers that had verbally abused us the work shift prior. Apart from my fellow staff, the managers are out-of-this-world awesome. Sue and Summer both care about their staff and the quality of their restaurant. The only reason I quit is because of taking up an internship that started way earlier than it was originally supposed to, and I am deeply saddened I had to leave. On the holiday menu insert is a little gem of a meal, the Carnitas Benedict. Basically it is slow-cooked shredded pork sautéed in green chili sauce. Great flavor. Then it is topped with two poached eggs and a great chipotle hollandaise, tomatoes and some chopped green onions for good measure. I suggest you make sure to specify the eggs with runny yokes. The flavors of the meat mixing with flowing yellow yoke is excellent. All of this is put on top of chunks of a slightly sweet cheddar jack cheese and green onion cornbread. I chose the country potatoes for a side. Great texture, color, and taste. Crisp and golden. I ordered the Bloody Mary and while the taste was good, it had way too many things run through with the toothpick. Way too many. Should have stopped after the large slice of bacon. This was absolutely the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. We placed an order online at about 9 am and drove directly there to sit and wait for our food. We arrived at the restaurant around 9:15 and informed the hostess that we were here to pick up. After 10 minutes passed we requested for the hostess to check on our food and she said that it was in the kitchen being prepared which we had no issue with. After waiting 10-15 minutes longer we checked in again and a woman went into the kitchen and returned with "our order" after leaving the restaurant and arriving to our destination we noticed the food in the bag was not ours. We returned to the restaurant and informed the staff of this and they went to see what the issue was. A staff member returned and said ONCE AGAIN that our order was being prepared. After another 10 minutes passed we informed the staff that we had been waiting for nearly an hour for our food and requested them to check. The manager on duty returned to see what the issue was. She said our order DIDNT EXIST and we had been misinformed. So after waiting an hour AT THE RESTAURANT our order was never being prepared and we waiting all that time for nothing just for the staff to misinform us that our order was being prepared. Not only that but the staff wasnt accommodating at all. Didnt even care to ask us if we wanted something to drink while we wait. I want to clarify, I am no Karen. I used to work in the service industry so I understand how difficult it can be, but for the staff to not even care to ACTUALLY CHECK to see if our order even existed is ridiculous. I will not be returning to this establishment and I write this with the hope that things will change for the customers that do return. After a long and draining journey to make it down here to New Orleans, this place was a wonderful welcome to the city! We were greeted by the friendliest staff members ever, and Our waitress Jennifer was the best! We started off our breakfasts experience with two fruit infused mimosas. My friend had the lemon blueberry Mimosa, and I had the strawberry St. Germain Mimosa. Hands-down, it was absolutely delicious and refreshing! Jennifer also recommended the cinnamon roll French toast as well as the banana foster pancakes and or waffle. She never lied! The Banana foster waffle was the BEST I have ever had! The sauce was very rich but not too sweet. My cinnamon French toast topped with fresh fruit with a dollop of whipped cream. Everything was amazing. I especially enjoyed the oven baked bacon. I checked in via waitlist, waited the 28-35 mins recommended and checked in BEFORE the time prescribed and still was told I would have to wait to be seated as there were three parties ahead of me. When I inquired why this was so, as it was my first time having this experience, I was told that I should have physically checked in upon arrival as parties were physically here before me and they would be seated first. So basically regardless of what the app told me, the very app Another Broken Egg clearly uses, I would have to take a different approach upon my next visit.
