Food was mid to bad. The pita bread was stale and odd, but the strawberry salsa mahi was actually pretty good. But pretty good isn't good enough to justify their prices. It was also odd because their "restaurant" was just 5 tables in a hotel lobby. Super weird and a disappointing way to celebrate an engagement. And the perfect amount of food. The burgers were the surprise and while not a huge burger, the meat was good and the burgers weren't at all greasy or heavy. Would recommend either. Side salads are just mixed greens with cucumber and dressing. The Cajun pasta is creamy and flavorful and has a lot of sausage and shrimp. For a cream sauce it's rich without being too rich. The salmon tacos were simple and light and come with small bits of salmon, and romaine lettuce. I would've liked a bit more flavor but the group really enjoyed them. Cajun fries are actually potato wedges and though I didn't taste the Cajun seasonings they were fried nicely. The best, if you have room, was the creme brûlée cheesecake. I'm not a big creme brûlée fan and am picky on cheesecake but wow this was good. The cheesecake alone is delicious and perfect texture, and the light sooonful of creme brûlée sauce on top is light and sweet and the perfect amount without over doing it. So good. *the service wasn't the best but at the end of the night the waiter explained they had only been opened for one month and have been unable to fill buser and host positions at the restaurant (makes perfect sense with current labor market). That said, they need a better solution for acknowledging and notifying guests of the situation. read more

Disappointing on every front. It took 20 minutes for the waitress to come take our order. And she has not checked in with us once during the whole night. Glasses were left empty. The fries are not crispy despite it being "beer battered". Burger was nothing to write home about. For the price I'd expect at lease one or two "wow this is pretty good" from the table, but it was all around "eh it's okay". Next table got rubbery broccoli which was pretty funny to see them showing that to the waitress. And let's not talk about the music. If you charge 25 for a salad that looks like left over miscellaneous greens, you can pay for licensing fee for original music rather than these awful covers. read more

First of all, BEAUTIFUL view. This quaint restaurant is located inside the Cliffrose Hotel. They had indoor tables as well as outdoor covered patio tables. We've been for lunch and dinner both...the Ranchero Tostada and Crab and Egg Benedict were our favorite from the brunch menu. Both very large portions! Dinnertime we weren't near as hungry so we split the Beef Tenderloin and it was still a large portion but so INCREDIBLE that I could have devoured my own order myself. Soooo tender and flavorful! And live music just added to the ambiance. The servers we've had were friendly and knowledgeable. I see in the other reviews that it's under new ownership/management and they have done a great job with the place. I'd definitely give it a try, despite any previous negative reviews. This spot is still pretty new so they're experimenting. We stopped in for dinner on Friday night. We had: -2 basic burgers -1 gnocchi -1 burrata -cocktails and beers The burgers were fresh and juicy - cooked very well with fresh lettuce, red onion, and crispy fries seasoned very well. The gnocchi was hearty and had a delicate chewiness, which is what i like in a gnocchi. Not mushy soft. Not rubbery. Very fragrant dish with bacon. The burrata appetizer was perfectly balanced with a grillled pear. The cocktails were the highlight. Fernando helped us tonight and was testing a new laphroaig blood orange cocktail. Blood orange with a dash of smoke. Very satisfying. We also had a pomegranate vodka served in a martini glass. Also stellar. Service also stellar. We are visiting beautiful Zion and staying in Springdale. I get that it's "off season" and a lot of places are closed. It seems like maybe this restaurant is taking advantage of that. I also understand prices are going up and the cost of goods. For a small little room attached to a hotel lobby to charge the prices they charge is mind boggling. Burgers $30, Entrees $45-75, salads $25 and $8 to add some proteins?! The one that really got me was a pasta dish called "Tuscan Chicken Penne" was $45?! How can pasta with chicken be $45?! Not even fancy steak houses charge that for a bowl of pasta with chicken. I did notice a 20% off first check on Yelp and used it, server said "not sure if I have a key for that discount" she did begrudgingly apply it to the check (we tipped off the non discounted amount) Food we ordered was fine, tasty but not worth the big city crazy prices. read more

Great food and a great atmosphere! We eat here on a Thursday night during December. The place was pretty empty, but well decorated and a friendly staff. My wife and I both had cocktails. I had the Manhattan with local bourbon, it was delicious. For our mains my wife had the Autumn gnocchi, which was delicious. I had the bird and brie, which was fried turkey, brie, and a apple chutney. It was very unique and very tasty. Mine came with fries, which were super crunchy and fluffy on the inside. Whoa. Supposedly there's a new chef and they still need to work out the bugs. Our dish had rice noodles that were dramatically undercooked. Another noodle dish with crab and egg had no flavor of crab. Two people ordered this dish and they were quite different. Charcuterie board was good but the chips that came with it arrived 10 min after the board. I asked the server to tell me about the IPA and her response was "well, it's an IPA and people seem to like it". Even if you don't drink, learn something about what's on your menu! (For the record, she should have said it was a light session IPA and very light). Asking about the charcuterie board resulted in "it has cheese and ham I think". We called ahead and asked if they can accommodate us and they said yes so we made the 30 min drive there. Once we got to the restaurant we were greeted by a rude waiter who informed us that we could only order 5 items from the menu. WTF. Keep in mind the restaurant was completely empty. Absolutely one of the worst dining experiences, super disorganized services, I chose this place bc we are staying at the Hilton and thought it would be convenient to dine here. First of all, it took more than 1 hour to get our dishes. When our dishes were ready, my husband noticed he got a wrong side item. It turned out that the server did make a mistake. He didn't even apologize it. We decided to take the wrong item as we didn't want to wait for another dish to arrive. Dishes overall were okay. We paid for 45 dollars for Mahi Mahi but the portion was so little and overcooked. I won't go back there again. It was an absolutely disaster. read more

What a pleasant surprise to be greeted with such a gem of a dinning place in Springdale, Zion. The interior was warm and cozy. The outside covered seating was beautiful except the weather was still cold. We had a reservation and was seated by the fireplace. We ordered the Caesar Salad to share and the presentation was 5 stars! Put a lot of big city bistros n restaurants to shame! I ordered the Salmon and it was perfectly seasoned and the slight cream sauce complements the dish. My hubby ordered the autumn gnocchi and again the presentation and taste was amazing. What a treat! I wanted to show what the inside dining was like. Not so great atmosphere. The harsh lights from the hotel lobby, the beverage refrigerator lights...not exactly fine dining. The staff seemed to treat the area like it was the back kitchen...talking loudly about orders/tasks to do. There was a bussing area where they loudly scrapped dishes. We ate here 4-5 x this week (staying at cliffrose) mostly a good experience but pricy.. This time it was hot outside and although they have great musicians at dinner time, the volume for some nights was too loud for us (there are a few tables around the corner from the music out on the balcony but they were full so we opted for inside. For fine dining prices ($20 to add salmon to a salad, $55 for Bogle bottle of wine, 4.5 oz (seemingly) pours for single glass of wine) it all seemed....not so fine especially inside. Service varied from very attentive and great to a little distracted and forgetful. Outside great view, but the covered area (most of it) was a bit stuffy (October, 8pm after sundown) There is a big fan, but windows that don't seem to open to allow air flow and a door they don't like to open because then people will enter where they don't want them too...why? read more

The restaurant is the most racist and disrespectful restaurant I have witnessed in my life. It's Christmas Eve and we, a party of four Asians, have called in advance to make a reservation to dine at the restaurant early in the day, and were told that reservation is not needed due to the lack of customers on this night. However, when we arrived at the place at 6:30pm, we were side glanced and refused to dine because the front waitress said "you have to be a guest at the hotel to be received". The attitude of the waitress was extremely condescending and unnecessary especially for a night supposedly of family and love. The reason was also ridiculous: the waitress said they have to focus on their own customers on days like this, while in fact only 3 parties were dining in a 20+ table room. I genuinely hope the hotel and restaurant could address this situation, and this review is not intended for a rant but a piece of critical advice for the restaurant to hire non-discriminatory staff in consistence with the hotel's so-called public Image and policy. read more

Both entries were $45. The Ahi was inedible. Bad cut and undercooked (still raw/frozen). The pasta was OK. But overly rich and generally mediocre. The Ahi was replaced with a Mahi Mahi. The only dining area is right off the lobby of the hotel and it's a pretty small room. The portions were way too big, which is not what you expect for fine dining. Can't recommend this places enough. It's got fine dining restaurant service and seating but down to earth menu with standard prices. The heated lamps are super nice for the outdoor seating in cool November weather. We got the kids chicken Alfredo which was huge (adult size portion) and very delicious ($8), berry salad (very good and lots of fresh berries on a huge bed of salad greens, $14) with steak add on (+$4), the chicken quesadilla ($13, so yummy and lots of filling but not too Cheesy or oily, also comes with really good salsa and guac), and the pasta Primavera with pesto sauce (filled with mushrooms, zucchini, and we got add on of steak). The food wasn't too salty like most American restaurants which was a huge plus for us (better add than need to take away). Another big bonus was the 20% off from yelp check in! My husband and I were excited to try this spot after reading the other reviews. However, our experience was just okay. I wonder if we visited during an off night, as everyone seemed stressed. Our waiter was very sweet and super friendly, which went a long way. It took about 15 minutes to get waters and everything else came out in an odd order. Our appetizer came out before our drinks that we ordered about 20 minutes prior. Our main dishes were ready the same time as our salads and they came out semi warm. My husband also ordered a cocktail and we both swear it was missing the alcohol. Our favorite dish was the Spinach artichoke dip, which they customized with half veggies and half pita bread to cater to my gluten allergy. My husband ordered the seafood pasta and really enjoyed it besides it not being super warm. I ordered the mahi mahi and it was ok. Not a ton of flavor. We also didn't say speak up while there because we didn't want to stress anyone out further. I would be willing to give it another try if in the area again but, based on our sole experience, I didn't feel like it was worth the prices. read more

Our dinner here was amazing! We are on our honeymoon and wanted to check this place out after reading the reviews and seeing the pictures. .... Looking for somewhat of a nice dinner. We went to the right place. The ambience/service/food was amazing. They had someone playing live music downstairs on the patio and we could hear it upstairs on the outside patio but it wasn't too loud...it was perfect and great song choice (we are on our mid 30's.... Keep that in mind!). Jalapeño margs were spicy but not too sweet- would def get again. Spinach artichoke appetizer was HUGE and sooo good. It basically was family size and only $12! I got the beet salad and added salmon and it was the best salad I've ever had.... Def worth the 28 it cost. My husband got the spicy seafood pasta- it was huge and he loved it. The dinners also came with soup or salad which was nice. Our server was excellent- wish I had his name!! The only reason I'm giving this a 4 (really a 4.5) is because the pasta dish my husband ordered was $22 on the menu from last year (approx) and it was $46 .... I know the cost of everything is going up but over double seems crazy.... Anyway it was worth it and we would def go back. And - if you can't get a reservation on open table, call because they were able to put us on the patio when open table only gave us the inside option. read more

Nice, small lounge with good food. I ordered the Anthera burger. It tasted good, but the bottom bun was soggy by the time I got it. Service was okay, but slow especially after they got busier. They only had two people working and they were tending bar, taking orders, and acting as hostess at the same time. Also, they ran out of propane, so they didn't have heaters on out there which was a bummer. They said it was a local propane shortage, but every other restaurant I saw in Springdale had propane and had their heaters running, so not really sure what the issue was. read more

Two beers were ordered and within 1.5 hours only one was delivered. After 1.5 hours and our second time walking upstairs to let the concierge know that our food had still not arrived they finally delivered the second beer. We only saw the server twice in a total of 2.5 hours! Come to find out our server was the manager which she should be fired! The only redeeming factor was the musician Mason Cottam he was brilliant. Honestly this puts so many city restaurants to shame. Anthera is truly the star restaurant of Springdale. Absolutely delicious. The executive chef, Damon, stopped me as I was checking in to the Cliffrose Hotel to have me try a bite of the autumn Gnocchi. Not only was it probably the most delicious gnocchi I've ever had (butternut squash, blue cheese, sage, and bacon) but he was also delicious . I had the Ferric oxide (Fe2O3) martini, a crimson sour, and the emerald spirits cocktails and all were amazing. The shrimp and wild mushroom coconut curry soup was an amazing appetizer, perfectly salty, beautifully seasoned - excellent for the cold winter storm that was rolling through. I obviously had to order the gnocchi, my cousin ordered the vegan meatball spaghetti squash dish and both were filling and so so flavorful. The final touch was the berry crisp with vanilla ice cream. Tasty as ever and it was the perfect end to a perfect meal. If I lived in town I'd be eating here regularly. If I come back to Zion this will be my go-to dinner spot. But Seriously though, the chef was a snack. read more
