Stopped in just as happy hour started. Fairly quiet place but I can easily see it busy a little later in the evening. Was starving and looking for a small meal to not spoil my eventual dinner. The bar atmosphere was okay. It's likely significantly better during warmer months. The view of the river was blocked with some black plastic covering. I had a nice glaas of regional wine. The happy hour selection had a number of well priced reds and whites. Both the happy hour and dinner menu were available. I had a crab salad that was fabulous. It had a nice basil dressing that added perfectly to the crab and avocados. It was perfect for what I needed at the moment. Not to busy, nice glass of wine and a little bite to eat. read more

I was really looking forward to a piece of fish for dinner so we tried the sole. The menu stated that was it was coated and sautéed, but when it arrived it was clear that it was deep-fried it looked like a piece of shoe leather. It was so nasty we could hardly eat it. read more

So disappointed in our meal there last night. Hostesses we're great, but other than that this place was a disaster. I'm a chef of 30 years ( 20 years running a chain of seafood restaurants in Southern California ) and when I glanced into the open kitchen I knew what I was in for. Cooks were dirty, Kitchen was dirty, Menu's were dirty. First course , tepid, over thickened chowder with undercooked potatoes. Second course, over cooked rubbery shrimp scampi( puddle of butter sauce, no love) with large chunks of raw garlic. Vegetable was raw, old broccoli with the entire stalk still intact. Never seen that, ever. Cocktails were short poured and tasted like sugar. Waitress was a slow and never asked why we didn't eat our food or drinks until we were getting up to leave with a disappointed look on our faces. Gave me a coupon for dessert as we were walking out, sorry, I would never dine there again. I think Denny's could've done a better job than them making scampi. read more

I figure that Anthony's restaurants in other states, especially the Pacific NW, might have better or fresher fish than other chain restaurants, but that doesn't seem to be the case. While they didn't have salmon on the menu that night, the bartender went and checked with the chef, and they indeed had salmon on hand for a lunch dish. I asked if I could just get a piece of salmon on a Caesar salad, and she offered to make it blackened, and I accepted. The salmon was not very good (stuck to the teeth), like it was slightly overdone or smoked. And no spice or "kick" for being blackened. Oddly, half of the croutons were stale, but the others were delicious and fresh, like they mixed in some leftovers from last week. However, I always say the true sign of a good seafood restaurant is the sourdough bread, and they did not disappoint! The bread was warm and tasty with perfect crust, and I ate way more of it than I intended. This alone would get me to come back and try an item off the menu; I just wish they had a larger selection of fish for a fish house (no salmon, halibut or sea bass?). The wine was nice; they only had one pinot noir on the wine list (limited selection of every varietal), but I really liked it. It was warm and a little fruity; not "bold". So good for me, but perhaps not for everyone. read more

Absolutely loved it. My husband and I went here for our anniversary while we were vacationing in the area. We got the sunset dinner menu which is served until 6 pm. I ordered the shrimp and he got the salmon as our appetizers and both came out within minutes from ordering along with bread and butter. We both got clam chowder and we're pleasantly surprised at how much clams were in the soup unlike other places where it is mostly potatoes. For our meals he got the steak and u got the duo which was salmon with lemon butter shrimp on top. Both were excellent. He didn't even have to use his knife to cut his steak because it was so tender. My salmon was light and fell apart it was so moist. We were already getting full but we couldn't stop it tasted so good. Then came our dessert. I has the bourbon mouse which was excellent and you could really taste the boubon. He got the burnt cream or crem brule and loved it. Overall a wonderful time and the food was amazing. We will absolutely be coming back the next time we are in town. read more

We had the most wonderful evening at Anthony's. Our waitstaff person, Hana H, was attentive but not overbearing, efficient but not pushy. We were delighted with her service and very friendly attitude. We were attended immediately upon seating with water. Hana H came over from r our drinks and appetizer order. Both came out very timely. The coconut shrimp was delish. The sourdough bread was steaming and food. Next came our crab and corn chowder. Another big hit. We finished our soup and within 10 minutes our entrees came out. I had the Chop Chop Seafood Salad loaded with bay shrimp and crab dressing on the side and hubby had the king salmon. He said it was very good but thought the portion could have been bigger and I had no complaints about the salad. We shared a berries on shortcake with Chantilly cream and it was delicious. It was in short horrible! Under cooked squid,over cooked deep fried "Sole"-dark and dry, followed by "OFF" prawns that made me sick later. Complete zero for a well known seafood restaurant to put out food like that!I have eaten many times at Antony's over the last 20 years at their various locations. I think the problem is in the kitchen w/ no quality control . If Antony's has a staffing issue,don't open because if you continue to put out poor food you are going out of business. A nice, well kept establishment on the waterfront with wonderful service. We stopped in here for a midday break on a sunday. The service, for the time we were there, was really quite good and the two drinks that we had (a peach Cosmo and a Bloody Mary) were well made (with very special attention on the Cosmo). I can't speak to the bulk of the menu, but can say that the brunch menu did look quite appealing and wide ranging. We will definitely be coming back on our next trip to enjoy more than the little bit we did. read more

Drinks at Va Piano wine bar then we bought a bottle and walked next door Anthony's. Turns out, the two have a partnership where customers can bring their bottles in and not pay a corking fee. Nice. Dinner for the three of us was the steak and grilled shrimp- fabulous. My friends said it was the best steak they've had since moving to Central Oregon. Seafood fettucini which was just the right saucy, seasoning on point, and meaty with seafood. The chopped seafood salad was AHmazingggg! So used to it with ranch or some type of creamy dressing, this has a vinegarette and it was a stand out. Service was on point but once again the seats were dirty. Wipe off the tables not on the floor, not on the seats but into your hand and whisk it away. All in all, a fine evening out. read more

This place is consistently one of my favorite places to dine in Bend OR. The interior is bright and modern and the patio is a wonderful place to enjoy the Old Mill District vibe. One of the best seats however is at the eating bar by the open kitchen where you can watch a clean, efficient and well organized kitchen turn out consistently high quality food in a reasonable time. They have some of the best pan fried oysters I've had, and I really have to plug the Anthony's labeled Chardonnay by Gordon Estate full of oaky buttery wonderfulness. The only downside can be a long wait if you don't have reservations! read more

Ordered the blue cheese salad the small amount of shrimp on the salad was rotten had to send it back. the weathervein scallops were over cooked and tasteless and my steak although cooked correctly had no flavor brought it home for doggy. This is a beautiful Resturant with outside seating, a bar area, seating with a view of the river and sunsets. Unfortunately for us, on this incredibly warm, clear, and not a breeze evening, they were only serving drinks outside, no food. Service was great. The wine list was a little shocking. Expected a lot more selections, and with all the wineries in the area, not one on the menu. The wines all seemed like low end everyday wines. I suggest that you bring your own wine in and pay any corkage. It seemed the prices are a bit too high. The place was very empty. It is off season. I think there are other choices in Bend for your buck. Good but will not recommended because it seemed like a chain location and the price. read more

As chain "formula food and theme" restaurants go, Anthony's is not bad. Hence the A-OK rating of three stars.. We've had both lunch and dinner here several times, as a couple, with groups, with groups that included kids, and each time it has worked out OK...OK for service, OK for food. Not lousy, not great. Because it has such a lovely setting on the Deschutes River in the Old Mill Shops complex, on occasion on a nice day we'll stop by for early lunch or early dinner and have mussels (which we think is the best thing on the menu) with a glass of wine and enjoy the view, sitting inside or out depending on the weather. But that is going for the ambiance and compromising on the food. This is not, from our varied experiences, a "foodie" destination. One peeve though, the sound system can sometimes be SO loud as to make conversation really tough inside. Ambiant music is great. Dance floor levels in a restaurant are not so much our thing. read more

Happy Hour is the Bomb! For the price you get the biggest bang for your buck and now a days that's what were all looking for. We love the Ahi Tuna Nachos and Kobe Beef Sliders are the best, the crab shrimp and artichoke dip is a heart stopper. Winter time you need to go early and get a good spot. We try to get the corner table in the bar area but that's a hard spot to get but we'll keep trying unless the weather is good in which case eating on the patio and watching traffic float by on the river is a great experience with a glass of wine and fried oysters, see ya there! read more

We made it into Anthony's yesterday (1/26/19) around 2:00 pm. Our server Sarah was awesome! Everything was amazing and delicious, except the crab cakes. My daughter ordered the crab cakes, I noticed she only took one bite of them. I asked her why she was not eating them and she replied~ "it doesn't taste like crab." I took a taster and have to agree with her. We had; Northwest Manila Clams~ my son loves these. Fresh Northwest Mussels~ my husband said these were delicious Northwest Oysters on the Half Shell; two different kinds~ my favourite Crispy Calamari with Lemon Aioli~ these were tasty The above items were awesome! Oregon Coast Dungeness Crab Cakes Golden sautéed cakes of Oregon Coast Dungeness crab. Served with ginger plum sauce and beurre blanc, almond basmati rice pilaf. ~ Way to sweet. Tasted like eating an orange. It is a bummer they do not offer a bigger lunch selection. Unfortunately almost everything thing we ordered was from the dinner menu, but for the most part it was delicious, and a beautiful view of the river. read more

Nice location is about all we can say positively after a dinner at Anthony's in Bend the other night. We realize service is difficult during COVID but we've seen far better. Service was very slow and our waiter was not attentive and a bit rude at times. More importantly we had really expensive fish dishes with probably very good pieces of fish that were prepared with no seasoning and the $34 halibut was overcooked to the point of being totally dried out. The rice and vegetable sides also had zero seasoning. I've had meals at Anthony's in other cities that I actually enjoyed quite a bit so this was a big let down. read more

Cons: Bit down on a shard of glass in my salad which was flavorless by the way (both the glass and the salad), drinks took a little while to come, restaurant was cold. Excellent seafood place right on the Deschuttes River in the Old Mill District. They had 2 not very common fish dishes....Walleye and Ling Cod which is what we ordered. Not disappointed as both meals very very tasty. The wine we ordered was 3 years younger (not a good thing in wine) and I didn't catch it until we'd accepted it. When mentioned there was no suggestion of a remedy. Not sure why restaurants struggle with this but it is a pet peeve. Dessert was very nice with pound cake covered in local berries....tasty!! Very pleasant young man Travis, waited on us. We even thought about going the next night but went to the Blacksmith instead. read more

Over the weekend, I was up in Madras for the eclipse. Since my boyfriend and I were camping in a makeshift lot in 90 degrees heat, we took a short drive to Bend to explore the city and find local food and entertainment. We stumbled upon the Old Mill District as we Yelped local theaters, and we were lucky enough to find Anthony's seafood restaurant. Upon arriving, there was a short 10-minute wait to sit outside on the spacious patio. The weather was perfect, warm and breezy, and our table overlooked the scenic Deuschutes River. The food here was excellent -- and I'm not just exaggerating because we were in the midst of camping and roadtripping and eating fast food and gas station rations. The menu struck me as slightly overpriced; however, the portions here were generous which made up for it. Our waitress -- whose name escapes me -- provided excellent service and was knowledgable about food allergies, in my case gluten. The menu also clearly lists gluten-free selections in case you have an allergy or Celiac Disease. Anthony's has a curated wine list with local selections and wine flights; I decided upon a glass of the Erath Rose from Oregon. It was crisp and refreshing after camping in the dirt, so much so that I had another two glasses. For my lunch, I had the Blackened Fresh Rockfish, which was fresh, buttery and delicious. It was served with rice that was mixed with almonds, cranberries and a hint of cinnamon sweetness. The sweetness complimented the light fish and lemony green beans. My boyfriend ordered the Alaska Lingcod 'n Chips, which he highly recommends. We shared the fries, which were crispy, salty and quite tasty when dipped in their tartar sauce. Overall it was an excellent dining experience! Though they don't have this chain in So Cal, I'd definitely consider coming back the next time I'm in Oregon! read more

Absolutely the worst service on Valentine's Day. Been here before, great food, and I get it, Vdsy on a Friday is busy. But this is where I come when I want BOTH great service and good food. We arrive, they tell me 20 min for a table so we get a drink at the bar. 50 minutes later, with 1/3 the dining room empty, they tell me it's still another 20 min cause they don't have enough servers. Hire more people on the weekends? Finally get a table, we order cause we know what we want, another 30 min for bread... truly disappointed. 2 hours here and still waiting on a salad. Wtf read more

We waited 20 minutes for a cocktail at 6:30 p.m. on a Friday. Then when we finally moved from the bar to the table it was not ready at 7 p.m. either. Ordered fish and chips and my wife confirmed the frying oil really needed to be changed as it wasn't a fresh clean taste for presumably fresh halibut. My wife's shrimp were chewy and overdone. Bend now has a wealth of better restaurants and we'll certainly review Yelp before choosing another dining destination. Very disappointing. read more

Food coming out of the kitchen is NOT consistent. Hubby and I ordered the same exact meal. I got croutons in my Caesar Salad, he didn't. My snow peas were cooked/pan fried nicely, his were bright green and hard, as though they had been steamed for 20 seconds. I got a ramekin of sauce, he didn't get one. It's as though our food came out of 2 different kitchens. And on top of all that, the food was "just ok". Mediocre. read more
