The steak was well seasoned but it was so tough I almost sent it back. The cooks are amazing. This isn't their fault. Buy local meat. Also I ordered a beer and it came in a fancy tall glass. Reservations recommended due to Covid. Came here with 4 people. Service was excellent. Friends ordered the sirloin steak with seasonal vegetables and mashed potatoes. Steak was WAY over seasoned (and I'm a salt fan), potatoes and vegetables were good. Temperature of the steak (medium rare) came out as requested. I ordered the Fish and Chips (halibut, not cod). The halibut tasted fresh and lightly battered. The only thing I didn't care for was the ginger coleslaw. Saw a bunch of reviews about the fish and chips being soggy / greasy but that was not the case for my meal. When we mentioned the over seasoned steak, our server attempted to make things right by comping a dessert but we were too full (we appreciated the gesture). If you do decide to order the steak, I strongly recommend telling them to go lite on whatever seasoning they use. Both steaks came out the same way. read more

Very small serving sizes...I ordered the surf n turf top sirloin it only came with three shrimp! For $42, this was an absolute rip off Service wasn't great, it took 15 minutes for our order to get taken and another 15 for drinks. Our entrees didn't arrive to the table until an hour ten minutes after we arrived. Our water wasn't refilled once. This was disappointing. After we were done (and it was obvious) our server walked past our table many times, not even making eye contact. We had to get up and ask for our bill. Overall not impressed. Restaurant is upscale casual, but maybe they should seat less people if this is the kind of service that can be expected. We won't be returning. I will preface this review by saying we have been to Anthony's many times and always had a good experience but today was terrible. Our waiter was very curt and seemed put out throughout the meal. We heard him complaining to his coworkers about having too many tables which was laughable considering he had plenty of time to complain. His service or lack there of was painfully slow and along with an adjacent table we had to ask the manager for our bills. On top of that the food was not good, my wife's salmon taco had very little fish , the potato soup posing as clam chowder was disappointing and my Calamari Cesar lacked a flavorful dressing and the calamari was overshadowed by the excessive breading. Can't say we will go back considering the decline in food and service at very high prices.? read more

Website doesn't match the current menu creating confusion and misleading, the waitress stated that the website has been incorrect for a while and half the items on the website menu aren't offered on the restaurant menu. Menus were dirty and heavily stained, one of them kept falling apart. Not sure why you can only get happy hour at the bar and not the entire restaurant. Dined at Anthony's Restaurant December 13, 2024. Made our reservations through Open Table. Even though we arrived at the restaurant on time and had our table, the hostess cancelled our reservation on Open Table. I wonder if our reservation was purposely cancelled so we couldn't write a review on Open Table. The service was terrible. Our waitress had to be summoned to our table. We waited 45 minutes to place our dinner order. She never came back to ask us about our meal. Our seafood dinner was cold when served to us. We felt ignored the entire night by our waitress. The only thing that was excellent was our water glasses were kept full all night by the wait staff serving water. As we left the restaurant, we heard other diners complaining to the hostess about the terrible service. With so many fantastic restaurants to choose from in Bend, we won't be dining at Anthony's anymore, unfortunately. read more

The staff are friendly and welcoming. The service was spot on and attentive. They have a fairly good wine selection with a noted appreciation for Oregon wines, but also offer wines from other regions/states. They offer fresh-baked sourdough bread with dinner and it is DELICIOUS! The fried calamari is breaded in a flavorful batter that is so yummy I kept eating the left over flakes off the plate. The steelhead trout with cranberry relish is good as is the Alaskan salmon with the red pepper beurre blanc was equally good. They are currently offering a selection of desserts make with rhubarb!! This restaurant is a solid three stars for me. Good food, but no wow factors. read more

I got the Dungeness crab fettuccine (if y'all aren't from the northwest and haven't had Dungeness; you need to fix that. Blue crab is a joke comparatively.) Decent amount of crab in relation to the fettuccine, creamy sauce with mushrooms and peppers. It was served really quickly and wasn't very hot, which makes me think it wasn't cooked to order, but it's a small complaint. I just think $38 for a bowl of pasta containing an abundant local seafood seems steep. The crab cakes were $46. read more

Similar to other reviewers, I am going to give this a 3/4. The location is nice. We sat outside and it was a nice sunny day in late September. Our server was very friendly and attentive. The food was nothing to write home about. Very basic, teetering on bland. The inside of the space needs a major update - its very early 2000s hotel lobby bar inspired. We had friends that were also visiting the area that dined the day prior who were East Coasters and they were very impressed with their seafood. We definitely would give it a try if you're more interested in a nice outdoor dining experience on the riverfront and less concerned about an out of this world food experience. read more

We had been to Bend a few years back and had a somewhat disappointing dinner here, however, this evenign the food was excellent and the service superb. This place was absolutely amazing! The waitress Bailey here was so friendly and amazing to work with my girlfriend and I. I got the surf and turf Steak and Crab which was sooo good! The steak sauce they had put on made the steak taste really amazing! My girlfriend got the Dungeness crab fettuccine which she loved!! There was so much crab in her pasta which was so great since most places aren't always so generous. We also got the coconut shrimp for an appetizer and the sweet chili sauce was a great combo. My girlfriend's drink was absolutely amazing! She got the pear martini. The ambience here is ascetically pleasing! If I'd have known this place was a chain I'd not have booked it, but then again getting an 8-top at the last minute is not easy. The caesar salads were comprised of lettuce scraps that were rusty and limp. The famous clam chowder was lukewarm and the consistency of wallpaper paste. The fish in the entrees was high quality but the sides were all bland and overcooked, with rice so badly overdone it was like mush. Cocktails were watery. Who makes a French 75 on the rocks? Nice patio, great view over the river, I ate outside so I didn't spend much time inside, but the open kitchen looked awesome whereas the seating areas look a bit old and tired. So much is about expectations: I wanted it to be a "fish house" kind of place (e.g., The Fish Market in Calif) but knew it was in a touristy spot, so was thinking it could be more Chart House if you know that vibe (higher end, pricier, but no better food). Anyway, it ended up kind of lost between the two: modern kitchen, old interior, great patio, reasonable but not exceptional food. Service good but not great. Clam chowder: pretty good, not exceptional, but I'd eat it again (and I'm snobby for real New England chowder as made in New England). Fried calamari (not my choice) but pretty good. Halibut and chips -- best item we had. Nice thin batter, perfectly cooked, quality fish. Chargrilled halibut -- the fish was great, the mashed potatoes not so much, and I wasn't a fan of the chive butter sauce that came with. Next time, I'd ask for the sauce on the side whether it be the rhubarb coulis or the chive lemon beurre blanc. Overall, I wouldn't go out of my way to come here again but nor would I resist if someone else wanted to go. If I just wanted a glass of wine by the river at the end of the day, I'd probably go next door to Via Piano and grab one of those Adirondack chairs. read more

I really like the food here though it is a little on the spendy side for lunch, I found a good deal of value in what was served coupled with the amazing service. We tried to eat here on Tuesday evening but they are closed on Monday n Tuesdays so we came back tonight on Thursday. We were very happy we did. We had the Rock Fish dinner, Ahi Nachos, Cesar Salad n a Bowl of Clam Chowder. We also ordered a Moscow Mule & a Gin Citrus Drink, Tasted like a Mojito with Citrus. Everything was Amazing!!! The Rockfish was light n fluffy with the rice pilaf, the ahi nachos were incredible and the chowder was exactly what I was hoping for. Both drinks were very good and super refreshing. I would highly recommend this place!!! Well worth the 45 min wait, make a reservation to be safe or show up at 4:30pm. We showed up at 5:15 and all seats outside were taken. Plus delivering an appetizer and meal, does not earn a server an expensive tip. my fish was over cooked, tasted weird and definitely was beer battered. My friend's Mahi taco was flavorless, stale, dry and totally disappointing. in all honesty McDonalds would have been fresher and not as greasy. The windows had been washed inside prior to our lunch and there were dirty water drips on the appetizer plates, the table, and utensils. Unbelievable that the table was set during window washing and either not removed or inspected. Our server didn't come refresh our water until we were leaving. the restaurant was not busy so there was no reason for the lack of service. Welcoming host . Available seating not to crowded. The servers were very accommodating and friendly. They even brought my husband's service dog a bowl of water. I haven't been to this restaurant in over a decade and thought we would try it out for a birthday dinner. I ordered the wagyu burger and was asked how I'd like it cooked. I replied "medium rare". My son also ordered the hamburger off the kids menu. My son's burger arrived first and I was pleasantly surprised. It was a nice thick patty on a brioche bun. It was impressive for $6. Next came out my burger and it was the exact same thing except it had grilled onions, a bigger plate and a cost of $19. I took a bite and found the burger to be cooked beyond well done. This wouldn't have been so disappointing if I wasn't asked how I would like it cooked. The rest of the group were satisfied with their choices, but everyone agrees that it was just ok. read more

We were celebrating our 22-year anniversary so it was nice to go somewhere new, but I will say they 100% steer you away from the 3-course sunset dinner. Both were fish options (great I thought) but server did the 'meh' and 'scrunched nose' (aka not very good) so we went off the main menu and had the scallops and scampi dinners. Wouldn't order either again, scallops were small and didn't hit that 'scallops spot' (per husband) and the scampi was so dry I had to order a side of butter, which took ~10 minutes so it ended up to be dry and cold. The rice was barely there on Either plate and had more raisins than anything else. Definitely not an anniversary type place if you're looking for a finer dining/amazing all-around experience. read more

Food was excellent but service was slow at every step. One of the entrees was wrong and though they said they would do a rapid request to get the right dinner, the correct entree still took another 20mins. Had expected a small discount or comp on the one dessert for the inconvenience of taking over an hour and 30 mins. but nope. Nothing. and sore backsides for sitting so long. My wife and I planned on trying this place on our way from Corvallis to La Pine. We went a little out our way for it. We got there and had to wait for seating. No problem. When we got a seat we were served water like usual. Then we sat at at the table about 20 minutes without anybody taking our order, while other tables got plenty of service. There weren't all that many tables outside where we were and we could see what was going on. We hadn't been served anything yet, so we owed them nothing. We walked off to eat somewhere else. It's too bad. I really want to taste their wagyu burgers. Maybe I'll try again on another trip. read more
