Finding a good mechanic has been a challenge for me in the past. I am a single mom and have been taken advantage of in the past more so than not. I reached out to some friends for recommendations. I called 5 different auto shops to compare pricing and how much time it would take to fix. I decided to go with Anthony's because they way conducted himself over the phone. He was professional and seemed genuine. I'm so glad I went with my gut feeling because I was able to get my car fixed on the same day and it drove perfectly. If you are looking for an awesome mechanic with competitive pricing this is the place. For me it was worth the drive from downtown Sac to Carmichael. I don't know how many often when people see this profile, but I was very happy I came here. Took my truck to get the evap hose fix so it can pass smog I was able to drop off the truck and pick it up after work. The price to get the part fixed was very fair they don't try to scam you or anything along those lines. I didn't feel like I was getting scammed at all. If I ever have a problem with the truck I will definitely take it back here. After they fixed it I took it got it smog and it passed! read more

My experience with Anthony's Auto Care Service; 2009 Smart car Clutch Actuator installation, then he claimed I needed to replace Pressure Plate & Fly Wheel. Bought and brought him the parts. He had vehicle almost 2 months. I come to pick up vehicle and in less than 4 miles away, no gears, I smell burning metal. Anthony calls tow truck to bring my vehicle back to his shop to schedule appt with Mercedes Benz dealer. I pay for another Actuator, and another Pressure Plate and Flywheel, and labor to Mercedes Benz. Anthony did not have the proper device to perform the "Teach in" of the Actuator, yet requested more parts. I took him to small claims court, 1st judge ruled he pay me every penny I spent. 2nd judge ruled about 1/3 the amount. Yet Anthony does not want to pay for such a F**'d up, ignorant, incompetent, piss poor job. I would not recommend him or his shop to my worst, hated, despised enemy. I would not care if he was given 5 stars by your favorite celebrity. And he has over 30 years alledged history of working on vehicles. Pay your debt Anthony, you LOST for a reason. And the 2nd Judge will be getting a write up also to the appropriate Judicial branch for his similar shortcomings. read more

Anthony always goes above and beyond. Reasonable prices. Not always the fastest but prefer quality service over speed.

I have taken my 2003 VW Beetle to Anthony for multiple things (i.e. catalytic converter replacement, oil change, battery problems, etc), and each and every time, he and his team took good care of me! This is the first time I've felt comfortable taking my car in for service on my own. I'm used to mechanics trying to overcharge and make me feel like a stupid female. Let's face it, I'm a horrible car mom, and I know it. However, Anthony is super nice, super fair, and very willing to go the extra mile for his customers. Everyone that came in while I was waiting for the initial estimate seemed to know him and like him. That's what really sold me. I had a very few minutes to drop my car off this morning, he remembered me, took my keys and said it would be ready to go by the time I got off work. No hassle no waiting, perfect. I can't get over how amazing his prices are either. I knew there was a little more work to be done on my car, the price he quoted is about half of what I'd expected to hear. Prompt, great service, expert advice - saved me from buying a lemon! I found Anthony's through Yelp when I was looking for a pre-purchase inspection for a 2008 (12y) used car from a private seller. I called the shop same morning (7/29) I was meeting the seller. Anthony immediately greeted me when I arrived 30min later, promptly did an intensive inspection and test drive (about 40 min), and then wrote up the results with cost estimates for repairs. Very lucky for me, he found several show-stopper problems and inconsistencies with the seller's story, like leaking AC/compressor, bad struts, cupped tires, and signs the brakes needed repair. Anthony went over each item and explained whether it was a simple problem or a sign of major trouble to come. I appreciated his candid advice that you don't want to be buying a car that has big problems from the start. And always inspect a car BEFORE buying. While I was waiting, 2 other customers came in to patiently wait for their cars. They were clearly longtime loyal customers who had good relationship with the owner, signs of a good business. If I lived closer I would consider making Anthony's my shop. read more

After my van failed smog at San Juan Auto Smog I was in need of a place to repair it and get it back to specs. I at first went to Capital Auto Repair (see review) which was a joke but they recommended Anthony's. Anthony at first scowled at the report because the readings were so high and I thought I might have to scrap the van but then he asked me if there were any vibrations in the van, which there were. He then shook my catalytic converter with his hand and saw that the honeycomb piece inside was broken in pieces and basically told me this was the issue. He gave me an estimate (a little high but I did save on diagnostic fees) and had it ready for me the next day. My readings went from 1500 down to 6 on the report and it passed with flying colors. I asked and paid for general diagnostics at a very reasonable cost at 45 dollars and he gave me an extremely comprehensive report, detailing 7 different things (in order of importance) that needed to be done. Many were very costly so I may have to pick them off one by one but he took the time to explain them all to me in an unrushed manner. That is 45 dollars well spent. After spending several hundred dollars for them to fix the wrong stuff, I went to Anthony's. I made an appointment for an estimate. I was responding to the yellow page ad that said "free estimates". At the time of my appointment I was handed a bill for $126.00. I asked what the charge was for, I was told "for your estimate". When I asked why, if they advertise "free estimates", and was told that an estimate on a sluggish running vehicle was not included becuase there was too much to consider. Anthony is one hell of a mechanic and a very upstanding, no bull kind of guy! we took our 2013 Ford Flex in for a diagnostic to be done after the car had overheated and was dumping coolant from under the motor. Anthony went over everything with a fine toothed comb, traced where every drip was coming from and found it to be a bad water pump dumping out the weep hole. The repair cost was right on point (not an easy repair but he definitely beat the dealers price!) Anthony uses all factory parts and guarantees all his work! The job itself took a little longer than expected, but Anthony stayed late (till 9:30pm on a Saturday) and finished the job so my wife could have her baby back the next morning! what other shop would do that!?!? So far we have had the car back for about 3 days and everything seems to be doing great! I definitely recommend you take your car to this shop if you want good service and fair prices!
