Went here while in Reno for our date night . Its located in the nugget casino , walking into the casino its kinda like an old vibe but once u go down stairs to the restaurant your transformed into a whole different vibe of elegant and romantic .we started out with a glass of wine for me and a beer for the hubby with some oysters on a half shell with 4 different sauces to pair .... Amazing!!!! Then we ordered the tomahawk steak for 2 and lobster Mac and cheese .we had a salad and claim chowder wich was yummy .It took a bit to get our main dish but ...... IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT !!! WOW , the steak was cooked to perfection and the Mac and cheese with lobster was creamy and delicious!! Hands down best steak dinner we have had !!! Must go and eat here if your in Reno !!!

We had an amazing dinner at Anthony's for a wine makers dinner with Duckhorn Vineyards. The food was out of this world-the staff amazing and the wine delicious. The restaurant feels intimate and welcoming.

I went here with a group of 10, and overall the food was alright. The wait for the food was exceptionally long too. Our server was amazing (I forgot her name ugh). The ambiance of the place was nice. The salad was tasty and came in a huge portion. The appetizers were filling, and the calamari was definitely my favorite. The steak was decent, but I honestly expected way better. It was probably one of the worst steaks I've had at a restaurant. Not to say it wasn't good, it was just mediocre. The lobster was pretty disappointing. My expectations for the food were much higher than what came out. Luckily, the cheesecake for dessert was good!

I am saddened to be sharing this review as Anthony's used to be my favorite steakhouse in Reno, and the one I recommended to anyone who would listen. The last two times we went, things weren't as great, but we gave it another long pause and went last night for my husbands birthday. Unfortunately, it was the last time. Getting the reservation was simple, and the women checking people in were kind. The restaurant was clean, but smelled heavily of fish. Not like passing by a table and smelling a dish, it was so potent from our table and no one was seated close. My husband and I both ordered the NY, one with mashed potatoes and one with a baked potato. I ordered mine with chimichurri, because it was once upon a time my favorite. I ordered the onion soup, a glass of wine, and a Diet Coke. The Diet Coke never came out but was quickly fixed when our table was checked on. The soup is no longer served how it used to be (in the onion) and so that was a bummer, but overall I still really enjoyed the taste. The complimentary bread is also different now, lacking flavor, and simply nothing special. The chimichurri recipe is also much different, and now is served as a thick paste. Both steaks were cooked perfectly, but the superb taste that they used to have just isn't there anymore. The restaurant was very kind and had given my husband a complimentary dessert for his birthday. When we attempted to eat it, it crumbled apart, almost as if it had been frozen and wasn't completely room temp. The check came and we were charged for two soft drinks, even though we only had the one, but our waiter fixed the check no problem and comped the soft drink that was had. Overall, service is still good, & the people are all extremely kind. However, for the price tag, you are better going to any other steakhouse here in Reno. I miss the old Anthony's.

We signed up for a Bourbon themed dinner and was not disappointed. The dinner had several courses with drinks tailored to complement the food selection. Service was pleasant, ambiance comfortable and the environment not too loud. The only thing I would have liked different was that the server took away my unfinished drink while I was turned talking to a Four Roses rep. All in all, good and drinks were very good and we look forward to coming back again.

The short review: All in all the food and the service didn't match the price point. The place is nice and they make an effort, but there are many places in town with great atmosphere, better service and food better than Anthony's Chophouse for a fraction of the price. Any those other locations never altered my bill without letting me know ahead of time. The details: I'vee read a lot of good things about Anthony's Chophouse so when the wife got us tickets to see Magique at the Celebrity Showroom for Saturday night, I thought it was a perfect time to try it. The restaurant is located downstairs from the main casino floor, we saw a few people confused on where to go along our way. It was just before 6 and most tables were open, no need for a reservation. The atmosphere and lighting was pleasant and comfortable. The service: Started well, but after we stated we didn't want wine, our experience turned. Ordering anything was an awkward exchange from being offered soda and lemonade rather than being asked if we wanted anything to drink. We ended up not ordering our cocktails until we ordered our food. It was little to no surprise that we were served our soup and Entree, but didn't receive our appetizer. When we brought it up halfway through our entree, the server apologized and asked if we still wanted it. The soup portion was so large we decided against it so he said he would remove it from the bill and give us a complimentary small desert, which we thought was very gracious. We turned down an additional chocolate cake he offered. The waiter later came to our table and refilled our waters himself without asking, which was uneeded as they were already filled by his assistant. He literally added a small few drops in each glass before leaving. Then he left and soon returned with a 2nd drink for me, he put it in front of me without saying anything and headed away. We figured his water shenanigans was to see what i was drinking and this was a complimentary drink for the mistake since I didn't order or want another drink. We thought they really were trying hard to make up for the minor issue. But when we got the bill I saw we weren't charged for the oysters but we're charged for the second drink I didn't order, but also weren't charged for my wife's paloma.Paloma. I'm pretty sure my drink was more expensive than hers so im not sure what or why. After the meal when he brought the complimentary small dessert, it read happy anniversary in chocolate, which slightly confused and made us laugh. This entire experience would have been better with communication, let me know why you're giving me a drink I didn't order and tell me what your are changing on the bill, you could probably save your effoet. The food: Chowder - the presentation in the copper pot was nice but the portions is much larger than needed and is damn near a meal itself. There were plenty of class and tasted great. Bone in rib eye- at a massive 20 Oz, I was for sure taking half of it home, especially after the chowder. I ordered it medium rare, and it was very rare to the point that the knife they provided struggled to even cut it. After the oyster order fall through I'd hate to have to raise another issue and figured I'd just raise it in my review. I dont mind rare, but it isnt what I ordered. Brussels: I was hoping they'd be crisper up a bit, but they were alright.

All I can say is Wow. The meal was fantastic and service was beyond expectations. The food was timed perfectly and the business dinner meeting had no awkward moments. Highly recommend when in Reno.

I had the seasoning bass and it was very good, cooked perfectly and the edmame mix served with it was yummy too. The service was friendly and prompt. The restaurant is nice and relaxing great visual decor.

Seafood risotto with pan seared scallops, shrimp, and lobster

Love the old school ambiance with large banquette tables! Felt like stepping back in time when life moved slower. Food is mostly solid with some excellent dishes. Crab cakes are delicious. Seafood risotto is creamy and flavorful with shrimp, lobster, and scallops - the scallops were cooked to perfection. We loved that they serve a crispy pork belly strip with the wedge salad instead of the more usual bacon bits. My teenage kids split the NY strip steak and several sides. Note that the steaks come with soup or salad. Weirdly, given it's a steak house, the steak was the dish we liked the least (it was good but lacked flavor). Love that they serve a warm bread basket! Service was attentive though we didn't order dessert because no one checked in on us at the end so slight mark down. It cost ~ $75/ per person (without alcoholic beverage) so I can understand that people's expectations may be higher but we had a good all-round experience.

I love coming to Anthony's! The service is always great---- everyone was welcoming and attentive. I always say I'm going to order something different, but I'm hooked on the Seafood Risotto! We splurged and ordered the fried artichoke. Everything was great and tasted amazing! It was a busy night as they had a convention at the resort but that didn't stop us from enjoying a great evening with amazing food! Can't wait to be back!

Anthony's Chophouse continues to set the gold standard for fine dining in Reno/Sparks, and a huge part of that is thanks to GM Artak and his incredible team. Artak leads with passion, professionalism, and genuine hospitality. You feel it the moment you walk in. The service here is hands-down the best in Reno/Sparks, consistently attentive, warm, and flawless. The food is always exceptional. The Hamachi Crudo is bright, fresh, and beautifully balanced. A must-order every time. The Filet is cooked to perfection, tender and full of flavor, and the chocolate cake is the perfect indulgent finish. Every dish is executed with care and precision. One of the true standouts is Anthony's insane wine collection and top-shelf bourbon selection...easily one of the best around. Artak's curated wine and bourbon dinners are next-level experiences: thoughtfully planned, expertly paired, and unforgettable from start to finish. Special shoutout to Jonathan and the entire service crew: knowledgeable, friendly, and incredibly dialed-in. They elevate the experience without ever being intrusive, and their recommendations are always spot on. Whether it's a special occasion, a wine or bourbon dinner, or just an incredible night out, Anthony's Chophouse delivers every single time. Simply put: no one does it better!

A wonderful magic show inside the Grand Sierra Hotel & Casino…read more I was looking for something to do without leaving the hotel for a major conference. I saw that they were advertising this show...and I like a good magic show. It did not disappoint. The sleight of hand and on-stage demonstrations were incredible. I was still banging my head of how they did it or maybe it was the cocktail at the bar that was playing tricks on my mind. As a guest of the hotel, I had a 20% coupon and promptly used it at the ticket office, though I think I should have picked my seat better. Nonetheless, I was in the second row and I was able to get a good look of the magic up close. If you arrive early, you can hang out for Happy Hour, they had some unique drinks including the local standby beers and cocktails...and mocktails for those attending the all-ages show. I recommend seeing this show on a Friday or Saturday night if you want a bit more rambunctious, racy show.

After happy hour ended a bud light and high noon was $18. I can't believe they turned the old movie theater into a magic show theater. I sat there thinking about all the movies I saw at the Hotel and the first time I had a drink in a movie theater so long ago, 1989. It was fun in the bar prior to the doors opening they have a magical experience for adults and kids to set the mood for the evening. Tracy the bartender was awesome! She also works at Blitz during the day. She has the kindest soul and such a people person! It was like I had known her for years. They have a box office where you can purchase tickets. Very hard to hear the gal! They definitely need a microphone to speak to each other. If you think you're going to save a few extra dollars on those service fees - you may have to think twice, just purchase on line. It's much easier. Also, they have a snack bar with fresh popped popcorn $9 -$13 and huge pretzels $14. Chase Hasty and his wife have traveled around the world to over 25 countries sharing their magical talent and ballet dancing skills. My favorite part of the show was when Chase brought out a locked box and Hoisted the box with a rope up to the ceiling and told this guy to watch the box. Later in the show they opened the box, it was a pretty impressive trick!!! One not to be forgotten!! It's a small production but well thought out with couple extra dancers and costumes changes. I love that Chase, picks people out of the audience to help with the show. Maddox was a return kid that had been practicing his magic and Chase let him perform in front of the audience and what is that called "That's Magic!!!" It's nice the performers will met you afterwards in the hallway to have pictures and ask questions. It's a great family night or you can come to the later show at 9pm for a little more risky nocturnal show. I'll have to save that one for another time!

I get why for the social aspect but my party wanted to stay partnered up so we could Practice wirh each other. Suggestion is during the lesson have a section that are willing to switch partners in a section that want to remain with their partner. This place is a definite try and we will be back when visiting Reno in the future.

Laughlin as a room was laughably loud. I could hear everything on the street. Motorcycles, cop…read morecars, regular cars, even conversations. It was the loudest hotel room I've ever stayed in: Vegas. California, New York - Manhattan, Brooklyn - no comparison. And this was on a normal night. The walls were so thin that even though I wore earplugs all night I could barely sleep. The next night I understood why a sound machine was bedside. I plugged it in for white noise and it helped a little. I'm sure it's a great bar at night, i.e. the rest of the reviews. Not a great hotel. I understood why no staff is present and there's no front desk. They'd have complaints every night; there are two other street-side rooms. I let management know via email and they offered coffee and "breakfast" the next morning. They also offered 15% off a future stay but why. I booked direct and paid $80+ more a night than usual. How about a partial refund? What was very disappointing was no coffee in the morning for two days. I booked this hotel in part because there was a cafe downstairs. The cleaning woman, who was the only person on staff present, said the baristas just didn't show up. I got a croissant before I left and the fill-in barista, though very sweet, had no experience. They said this a few times without any prompting and I tipped them well and felt sorry they had to show up and try to figure out the espresso machine. Though it was no fault of theirs, this hotel really didn't live up to its aesthetic or basic services. I wouldn't have even written this review if management didn't have the audacity to text me twice during my workday asking for one. So, here you go, Caner. Please stop now. And Yelpers. don't book a street-side room at this hotel.
