We went on a Sunday after picking my mom up at the airport across the street at 12:30pm. We weren't sure it was open as there was only one car in front and it was very dark inside. There was one other table of people. The food at Anthony's is always reliably good. We ordered the large salad, wings and a pizza with 1/2 mushrooms. The service and food were both good. The bathrooms however were horribly dirty. I'm assuming we were the second group of guests for the day and the sink was so grimy it looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a month and it smelled that way. When I mentioned it to the waitress she apologized and said she didn't notice because she never goes in there, and she would let someone know. There was no manager around, which surprised me because the manager at the Commack store is always there asking how everything was, and it's always clean. On the way out I noticed the door was so covered with hand prints you could barely see through the glass. We love the Commack location, but won't be going back to this one. read more

I ordered the eggplant marino. This is a simple dish...eggplant, tomato sauce with pecorino cheese on a pizza dough. It was inedible. Eggplant was burnt, very hard and indigestible. You guys. I don't know if people think of this as a go to for wings, but seriously please do. The dry rub wings are the most delicious thing ever. I also go broccoli rabe and sausage which was yummy but standard, exactly as expected. Focaccia came with sauce that has BIG TIME improved since the last time I tried it, and the lovely server gave me some extra to take home :) The Italian Tuna sandwich is awesome, get it for lunch - it's probs the best sandwich on the menu. Not fishy, not smushy - it's perfect. I'm sorry I didn't review the coal fired pizza because duh, that seems like a real miss but all the other food was great! Also to note, the servers were so nice and attentive! Everyone is greeting you, thanking you, telling you have a great night - they're just so pleasant which isn't found everywhere these days. Minus one star because I think it could look cleaner. Nothing is overly dirty and I wouldn't eat there if it were, but the cleaning spray needs to be put away and not just left on a table waiting for the next use, and the floor could use a good sweep during the dinner service. We ordered out for work at a hotel. Delivery driver walked up to the door and was greeted friendly with tips ready to be passed for the pizza, but decided to place the pizza on top of trash on front of the hotel room door and walk away. I'm from Europe and being used to authentic Italian pizza I'm always skeptical when it comes to getting pizza expecting American pizza which I do not like at all. My colleagues were not too crazy about it and I ended up taking the leftovers home bc I was the only one who did. But I for one loved the pizza, primarily the crust. It was crispy, thin, charred on the bottom to the point it was black on some areas. Granted it might've been burnt on their side (we ordered a half and half pizza). My half was the Hawaiian (I know, pineapple right? But it can work when done right) The toppings were a tiny bit bland and they substituted the prosciutto for bacon so totally different experience and slightly disappointing. Also the pineapple chunks were nice and small but could've been spread out a little better as there were a few clusters and the rest was bare. All in all I liked the pizza more than any other pizza I've had in the past bc it was the closest to authentic Italian one had. It could've been better had it been prepared with the original toppings (prosciutto) and the tomatoes been seasoned. I can't speak for price, service or ambiance because our supervisor ordered dinner for us but the driver definitely needs to improve his people skills. read more

I've been past this place a number of times over the years but never visited until this weekend. It was later on a Saturday night and there was ample parking and seating. We were seated right away and were able to order drinks and appetizers within minutes of being seated. I ordered a lemonade off their menu that had Tito's in it. It was very good! We also ordered the shrimp scampi appetizer, a pizza with all the meat, and an order of meat balls. Everything came out in a decent amount of time. Nothing was really hot with the exception of the pizza. As our food came out we asked our server for plates so we could eat our pizza and she politely agreed however she proceeded to take the order of a large group, about 6 adults and 7-8 children, before going to get our plates. Anyone who has ever served or seen a large group served, this isn't a quick task. After 5 minutes of waiting we asked another employee for plates so our food wouldn't get cold. Other than that moment of neglect from the server, she was fine. If you're going to Anthony's, check out their lemonade (mixed with alcohol or not) and their pizza. stay away from the scampi unless you like spicy scampi. read more

Stopped in at this Coal fired pizza Anthony's Italian restaurant in Bohemia out East. It's a chain that I don't recall being in. Seems they started out in Florida and have expanded to many areas including Nassau and Suffolk New York. 1st time there, I asked the waiter's suggestion. Spot on 10 inch pizza with ricotta cheese and meatballs along with my side of great garlic knots and gravy/ sauce. Delicious and to much at one sitting for me. Cardboard boxes to take home and much needed wet naps and napkins. Ah But, always room for dessert. Chocolate cake and cappuccino made by the waiter not at the bar. The latter didn't have much taste. So I go to their pretty bar tender and I ask if they make mimosas. She was unfamiliar with cava and nope they do not stock OJ. Seems years ago they did Sunday specials and all the chains follow suit stopping OJ use. No place to charge phone unless you have a plug adapter. There is room for handicap access including the bathrooms with cut pix on the doors. ( see pix of inside areas) some pictures of guest that appear hand signed board in back for Bohemias best!, and a view of the Pizza man at work at the oven. Best gluten-free pizza I've ever had! And their wings are gluten-free and amazing! I found Anthony's in the Find Me Gluten-Free app and it was very close to my hotel, so I went with my girlfriend. The server, Sam, was super helpful and we ordered 10 wings as an appetizer: 5 original (caramelized onion) and 5 Garlic Romano, with the bread on the side for my partner. They are amazing, and the flavor from the coal-fired oven is unique. I ordered their 12" gluten-free pizza with prosciutto, black olives and artichoke hearts. All of their toppings are gluten-free except the sausage. It was amazing. We both had slices and agreed we couldn't tell it was gluten-free. I've had just about every pizza joint's gluten-free pies, and this one tops them all. I waited a day to leave this review so I could tell you that I had zero bad reactions or side effects. Step in Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza. I've passed here hundreds of times and it usually looks closed and rarely do I ever see cars in the parking area. Well today I had to go to the airport to get my boarding pass for a flight to Indianapolis tomorrow. On the way home my wife says "why don't we give them a try. Sure, if they're open. Sure enough they are open. Although pizza in the name, this is not your typical pizzeria. There's a full bar and a number of tables for dining. A really lovely waitress seats us and brings menus. We ordered the "Pizza for Two ", and a couple of drinks. To be honest, the pizza for two is not enough for two adults, but we just wanted a quick bite to eat so it was enough for us. However, in looking over the menu I noticed several meals I would love to try, particularly their "Eggplant Marino ", and very reasonably priced. While on the road traveling for work I stopped here to place a to-go order. There is a location near my home in PA and they are always consistent with quality food. Unfortunately this location didn't meet the expectations. The woman who took my order was friendly and helpful. It did not take long to wait for my meal and everything was accounted for. When I got to my hotel room down the street and took a bite of my Coal Oven chicken sandwich, the chicken was chewy/rubbery. Almost like it wasn't cooked enough but there was no pink. It takes me a lot to not eat something but I had to pull it out! The amount of chicken in both halves would not even fill one half of the sandwich bread. I'm just very disappointed as the location by my home has never disappointed me. read more

Let me just say this and I'm putting it very mildly! The parking situation is terrible!!! Granted this is really not Anthony's and Starbucks' fault but man! It stinks! It's so bad that you can give your car to valet and they can park your car for you! Other than that our waitress was quick and polite and we got our energy back and ready to run some errands! I had an amazing time at Anthony's coal fired pizza today! To start the happy hour is one of the best out there. 3-6 pm m-fri. Next comes the food. As a vegan items are obviously limited. I got the salad no cheese and garlic knots no cheese. Lastly I got a large pizza no cheese plus assorted veggies. I wish there was a veggie pizza so it wouldn't cost as much. Charr is good. The meatballs come out, not too bad. Meatballs, mixed salad and a draft beer. It's not a culinary stretch so far. Now the pizzas comes out. Well done? Well done what?? The crust is like cardboard! Anthony's is a chain from Florida, how they're thriving in New York of all places boggles my mine. The crust on all three pizzas is weird, almost like a stale cracker.
