If you haven't been in a while you owe it to yourself to try the new Anthony's. There have been some major changes in how things are done and it shows in the meal! I had an eggplant parmesan and my wife had spinach manicotti and both were outstanding. The new front manager Blake and his brother as the new head chef have really made this a place where you can have a good meal, a good brew or wine and they even have Wi-Fi! If I can rate this place no stars I would!! My goodness horrible experience! Waited 45 to sit down but there was a ton of tables available! Finally sat down waited 10 min and no server, I flagged down a young waitress to bring us some drinks and she said she'd grab our waitress. Another 10 min for her to come and ask what we'd like to drink. 15 min later she comes back to take our order. One hour a table next to us received their food first even though we had been there long before they showed up. We finally receive our pizza and ours was wrong dough and our friends was the wrong pizza! Mind you our waitress never came by to check on us, refill our drinks, and not let us know it would take forever to get a pizza! I asked for the manager and she came by and we told her about the raw dough and wrong pizza that was served! She said "would you like a to go box and a discount"???? WHAT IN THE WORLD??! Everett made our dinner awesome. He was the raddest server ever. Food was alright. I've had better, but I didn't care. Pizza was good, but service was sub par. Our server was super pushy, forgot a lot of things, and it just seemed like it was a little chaotic. Outside was a good vibe, but inside it was silent and the tv wasn't on, which could have helped the environment. There was music playing outside, but they didn't have it on inside. The pizza's are very skimpy on ingredients. We ordered a large sausage, mushroom, and onion. First, the sauce was undetectable under the cheese. The cheese started about 2" from the edge of the pizza so there was a lot of crust. Some slices didn't have any sausage on them and mushrooms and onions were just as scarce. This was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. Bryson City should reroute the train tracks to plow this this place down. Our waiter was nice, but he knew absolutely nothing about the menu. Our drinks stayed empty. The food was absolutely horrible. I've had better food in hospital cafeterias. Half of the food didn't come out like it was supposed to, and the other half tasted like it was bought at a gas station and reheated. I would have been better off going through a McDonald's drive thru. We went on Saturday afternoon between lunch and dinner. Service was prompt restaurant was not full but there were many diners both inside and out. We ordered a salad - small but big enough for 2, an 18 inch pepperoni pizza with green peppers and a Stromboli. If you've ever had bad service before, come on in and give Anthony's a shot to raise the bar on bad service. We have visited Bryson City annually for the past four years and have always had great food and service from Anthonys. So, we thought we would go in and grab a quick, but relaxing, sit down meal. We ordered the deluxe pizza and a veggie, around 6:45 PM. There were about 12 full tables on the patio, so, we were seated in the dining room. Once seated, our server asked if we knew what we wanted to drink. We placed our drink orders and waited. Ten - Fifteen minutes later our drinks arrived, and we placed our orders. Thirty minutes, no exaggeration, still no food. My drink is now empty, and there is no sign or word from our waitress. She suddenly appears, drops the plates and napkins on the table and says: "I'll be back with some water." She shows up five minutes later with a 1/4 full pitcher warm tap water previously sitting on the bar in the entry way and says: "Here" then mumbles something as she sloshes the water into the glass and onto the table and leaves. Don't worry she'll be back soon enough with a cheerier disposition in another 10 minutes or more. The lukewarm pizza arrives. The server places one on the pizza rack, then looks around and finds another stand for the other pizza. She drops the pizzas off then disappears again. She returns in about fifteen minutes and asks: "How is it? Good!" My retort, actually it is not that good, in fact, it is average at best and lukewarm. She begrudgingly offers to take it back to the kitchen to be reheated. I decline as it already took nearly an hour to get a lukewarm pizza, no telling how long a hot pizza would take. We ask for our ticket and to-go boxes. Again, she disappears, returning 15 minutes later with two boxes and dumps them in the middle of the table on our plates. She then rudely begins grabbing our plates and bussing the table while we attempt to get the pizza in the to go boxes. All told it took nearly 2 hours to order and get our pizzas. Long story short, extremely rude server, average pizza, horrible experience, and a great story of terrible service. Oh, they did 'discount' the 'meal.' Save yourself time and money. If you want a pizza, sometimes shopping local is not the way to go in Bryson City. Pizza Hut is right down the road and IF you want to buy local, Speedy's is in Sylva. Next time, I'm eating at Speedy's Pizza. read more

Such a disappointment! We waited forever for a server and when we asked for a server, we waited forever for a server. Finally someone else stepped up and took our table. My husband ordered ginger ale and received club soda. I ordered ice water with lemon. The lemon seemed to be used up, maybe it wasn't but there was nothing to squeeze into my water.
