We did a date night out with another couple at this awesome restaurant. Yes reservations are highly encouraged as they get quite busy. The hostess was accommodating as we wanted a particular server (Melanie). Got seated right on time and Melanie was right there to greet us and get us started with drinks. This is an amazing server as she make the whole experience so much better. The appetizers were great, BBQ Shrimp and Calamari from what I understand from our friends it was very good. The main dishes, Seafood Fettuccine, Scallops, Fish and Chips, and steak were all cooked to perfection. This was a relaxing meal in a casual atmosphere with amazing service. Its oyster month at Anthonys so off we went. Sadly Anthony's has gone the way of all the other larger restaurants, portions have changed, and not for the better, and prices have gone up. This is a brief recap of what we had and why we are now leaving them off our list of go to places to take out of town visitors. My husband, not a fish fan, got a french dip. The size has decreased considerably, he used to not be able to eat the entire portion. The amount of fries on the plate was laughable. I had some raw oysters, at $4 a piece, which was a lot but ok. It was my entree that put it over the top. I had an oyster caesar salad which was a typical salad with fried oysters on top. It used to be a really nice treat but this was literally a pile of what seemed to be an entire head of romaine, a lot of cheese and a few bread crumbs scattered around with wait for it, 4 tiny oysters on top at a cost of $29. Please don't tell me a head of lettuce is that expensive. I couldn't even pretend to eat all of that lettuce. So hubs wanted dessert and we opted for a hot fudge sundae. I'm still looking for the hot fudge. They should have called it vanilla ice cream with some whipped cream on top. What used to be a great place, now is price gouging with mediocre food. read more

I believe menu varies from each location, please check details before you go! Even though it's advertised before 5:30, I would suggest sitting by 4:45-5. it's an early dinner but for this course, it's worth it! With Seattle Summers coming to an end, my family and I wanted to try this special and we got to sit outside and enjoy a nice view of the water. I had the calamari, steak and chocolate mousse. Wow, such a lovely anniversary evening. So happy we decided to spend it at this beautiful restaurant right on the waterfront. From the moment we walked in, everything was perfect! The front host staff, the bartenders, bus person, manager and our server (Mads) were all so friendly, attentive and all around amazing! We made a reservation on Google the day before for a late Valentine's Day dinner (the Sunday after Valentine's Day), and even though it was very busy, we were seated relatively quickly, which we really appreciated. We were also given beautiful window seats overlooking Vashon Island, which made the whole evening feel extra special and romantic. I did notice other tables receiving complimentary bread without asking, so I was a little confused when we didn't get any at first. However, once I asked our waiter, she brought it out right away. We started with drinks and calamari. The calamari tasted very fresh, and the sauce it came with (I'm assuming ranch) was delicious! For our entrée, we ordered the shrimp and crab fettuccini. There was a bit of a wait for our food, but to be fair, it was incredibly busy -- and the pasta was absolutely worth it. It was flavorful and cooked perfectly. Before leaving, I ordered the no-bake cherry cheesecake to go. It was on the smaller side, which was a little disappointing, but it was still very tasty. Something to understand, this place has been here since I think even before my parents were born. It may have had a different name but it's been here and it's been an institution at Point Defiance and they know it. So that said, we got there right around 12:00 noon which they do not unlock the doors until 12:00 noon. We were seated right away with a good view of the water and it kind of looks like there's pretty much good views of the water from every single table here. It wasn't busy at first so service was very attentive and friendly. I wasn't that hungry so my mom and a friend and I just had their BLT sandwich lunch special. I think for $13 we were able to get a good size BLT sandwich and fries to eat. It was actually really darn good and big enough to where I took half the sandwich home to have later. Unfortunately the lunch menu is not that big and it was a little weird coming to a seafood restaurant and not getting seafood. But I just don't need as much as I used to. But the view was good and the price for lunch was good and the service was good and definitely can't complain! Next time I come to town I would definitely like to try some seafood here for dinner and see what kind of stuff they can make when they are so close to the literal ocean. If you want dinner with a beautiful view, Anthony's restaurant is the place for you. This is a seafood restaurant located by the water in Ruston (next to the ferry and walking distance to Owen's Beach). They have both indoor and outdoor dining depending on what's available. They have big windows so you still get a great view of the water if you choose to sit indoors. Great place for celebrations and small groups! It was quite busy for a Tuesday evening. Service was pretty slow, understandably so as our waitress did say they had a lot of graduation and birthday celebrations this week. We checked in around 6:50PM and were told that it would be a 20 min table. We got seated around 7:20PM and waited ~15 min before our waitress came back to take our order. My friends ordered a cup of clam chowder and got it right after ordering -$9/ each. Though, we didn't get our other food until 7:50PM and they were supposed to close at 8PM lol. They forgot our utensils but did apologize because it's been busy and was the end of the day. They make their food to order and have an open kitchen so you get to watch them cook everything. Highly recommend the smoked salmon fettuccine! One of the best seafood pasta I've ever ordered probably. It comes with smoked salmon, mushroom and zucchini in fettuccine pasta and Alfredo sauce topped with grated Parmesan cheese. The sauce was creamy and I liked that they used real grated Parmesan cheese. They also did not skimp on the smoked salmon! 5/5 - $27 My friends ordered the Wild Salmon burger and said it was delicious too -$26. It comes with a side of fries and they separate the vegetable toppings in case you don't want any. They also ordered the seafood Mac and cheese -$33. I thought it tasted good but they thought the crab and cheese was too salty and didn't like that they bit into some crab shells (but hey at least you know it's real crab! :P) I liked the panko crumb as the pasta topping. There's bread and butter available but you have to request it. Food pricing is more expensive but it's also fresh seafood and by the water so it makes sense. I didn't realize this until now but the online menu says a cup of clam chowder is usually $9... but $7 if you order an entree. And we got charged $9 for each cup even thought we ordered 3 entrees :/ There's plenty of parking available for customers. The path to get here can be a little confusing. Make sure you follow the signs when you enter the roundabout and stick to the left lane when going down the small hill or else you'll accidentally get in the lane leading to the ferry lol. read more

It pains me to do this... The only way for improvements is by awareness. Here we go... My wife and I had dinner on 6/8/26 for our 24th wedding anniversary, not because I worked there years ago when they first opened, but because we truly used to enjoy every meal. It was a favorite. We were sat in a timely manner and things started off great. I purposely had to stall since I was surprising my wife with our friends (Best Man AND Maid on Honor) were stuck in traffic, so I take responsibility. Once they joined us we started our true dinner. I ordered my favorite, Mahi tacos with pineapple mango salsa (Which if you know, comes with the rockfish, I always order on side, so good)! I specifically requested no tortilla chips but their famous dressing salad to COME OUT BEFORE MEAL. Others in our party ordered chowder and bread starters which came out within 20-25 min. A little slower than expected but it came out. I should mention that once our first drink arrived, not once from then on out did our waitress ever ask us for more drinks or ever offer to refill my ice tea. It was so bad that the wives, ended up going to the bar and ordering drinks and bringing back. At the 55min mark, still without my salad ever arriving and no acknowledgement from waitress, I had to flag our waitress down and ask about our meals. She said we were the next ticket.. But we had the sense something got messed up. I then asked about my salad and she said she'd forgotten and would grab. Again, not a single time had she apologized but did tell me that if the salad tasted soggy she'd have another one made. Yes, this implies that the salad had been sitting for quite sometime. It get better, before I could finish half my salad the food arrives. My wifes crab/shrimp fettuccine was fine, however one of my Mahi tacos had the worst, fishiest, pungent taste so I gave up, frustrated, and tired, and stuck with my salad, which has lost it's creamy sesame flavor from long ago. I will say the first taco was fine. The Maid of honors meal? She ordered a steak medium rare and when cut into have no indication of red center, it looked dry and definitely sat on hotline. For the price she paid, she absolutely sent it back. The waitress agreed and asked if we'd like to wait for another. After being almost 2hrs at the table, at this point we no longer wanted to wait but end the meal and get out! No apologies, no empathy for our nightmare service and to make things worse, an elderly couple sitting behind us had called a manager over to complain. I don't know logistics but I overheard their meal being taken care of. I really hate leaving negative comments but for the prices they charge for meals there can not be such poor overall service. I expected so much more. We paid for our full meal but left a tip that correlates to the service we received. I also tracked the manager down and talked to her off the floor in hopes of bringing these items to her attention. I hope Anthony's can recover...... BC read more

Service was great. Water was always full. Food and drinks were meh. Dirty martini tasted like tequila, but when checked with bartender they insisted it was dry fly vodka. Clams were the best part of the meal. Steak Oscar with lobster was barely edible. Crab was ok, but steak was like rubber and lobster was brown and had a weird flavor. Caesar dressing was a bit runny. We searched everywhere to see cherry blossoms and crossed our fingers that we'd see them at Point Defiance. They had one tree near the pagoda, so we took the pic and because I was playing Pokemon Go, I realized we were around the corner from an Anthony's. Even though I've always wanted to try out the sandwich shop in town, I figured mom would enjoy seafood better. The server seated us at a table next to the window, but the view was slightly blocked by decorative metal work. I wanted to protest because I knew what she was doing (seeing who she could seat at a blocked view table so that the complainers later on could be accommodated with a clear view), I didn't have the fight in me because I just wanted to chill. The good thing about this table was that our waitress was very friendly. She pointed out to us a sea lion on the pier and a sailboat floating past our window. She also pointed out a herd of sea lions swimming in the water during lunch, which was really cool. We also got to see the ferry to Vashon Island come and go, so I got a burger and mom tried the trout, which she usually loves, but she didn't really go gaga for it this time. I also tried the winter bourbon cherry which the waitress said it was very much like Ben n Jerry's Cherry Garcia and no, it wasn't the same thing, but I did appreciate her description because I really knew that's what I wanted. It's.....alright I guess. I can't remember the last time I went to one of these, but it's generic American fare. Nothing impressed me, but I also can't say it was terrible, for the most part, kind of. I had some of the dip and sourdough bites. The dip is not bad. I think the bread would've been better if it was softer. Generally speaking, I don't like bread that's this hard for a dip. They're almost like crackers. I tried a little bit of the seafood Mac n' cheese. I thought it was kinda mediocre. Judging this as a seafood mix, I feel like the umami is pretty weak. Well, I thought that was true for the seafood and spinach dip also. Also, I felt that it was a tad dry, and the texture of the pasta was not the greatest. Normally, I would want the cheese to be more wet. At a point, this was almost like just mac that they sprinkled a bunch of shredded cheese over. Literally, if the seafood and spinach dip was poured over this, I think I would like it better than how it is now. I ordered the mahi mahi taco and chowder. The chowder is the most generic white chowder I can imagine. The flavor of the mahi was also okay, but not great. Finally, this is kind of petty, but I'm paying 22 dollars for a small cup of generic chowder, one taco, and a bunch of chips. Not the best value ever. But if you come here, you're paying for the location anyways, so it's whatever I guess. 3 stars seems fair. read more

Eating out is expensive these days. This place is now getting too the price point of near fine dinning. As customer i have the right to expect an experience while having my meal at this place that I have been dinning from day one. Tonight I got that experience just not from my own server. The food was excellent and the service I received from the Anthony's team of fantastic veteran managers and servers was fantastic. Even the GM whose name I dont know took a moment to stop by and say hi. She is always pleasant and welcoming as is her entire team. The Manager Sam did most of my service. He was fantastic as always. He was serving the next table as well. The lady with the little one enjoying his stellar service as much as I enjoy his excellent service. Another server who has been waiting on me for years provided great service as well and her section was across the restaurant. Sam and the waitress from across the restaurant provided the service and the experience I was paying for and greatly enjoy. The server who presented with a bill with their name as server didn't do the job but moving mountains to give great service to his other tables and even making multiple trips to the bar for drinks passing my table next to the bar. There was no way to give the tip to Sam and the other server from across the restaurant. They earned the tip. I did not tip the server whose name was one the bill. He didn't earn it. Will request the servers I know that provide me with great service and the experience that has made me a customer from the beginning.
