4 stars for the very personable staff at the bar who made a really smooth old fashioned. Wasn't too hungry so I ordered sliders and they were pretty good but not $18 for 3 sliders good. If you are staying in the hotel, not a lot of options around. The guy next to me got the fish and chips and it was ginormous. I'm glad I didn't opt for that since no microwave or fridge in the room. read more

The breakfast here is soooooo good! The bread is fresh and perfectly toasted. The hash browns are crisp on the outside and soft in the middle. The eggs were perfectly cooked to order. The bacon was thick and crisp! Drinks were served quickly and the coffee kept coming. Our servers were very friendly and so attentive. All this is a very classy atmosphere. What more could one ask for?! I will be bringing my family back again! read more

I stay at the downtown Marriott hotel for work and the restaurant is actually so yummy. I've had several meals and dishes here. I loved the seafood pasta, but this is no longer on the menu. I also enjoy the sliders, pizza, salads & fish. Give it a go. read more

Skip it. Staying here often (Marriott), never the best food or service it's taken a decent step worse in recent months. Food so bad they didn't charge for it prior two times. Tonight just wanted a quick drink with co-worker...staff ignored us a solid 10 minutes (so bad it was funny) then finally asked what we'd like (unapologetic). Worst ever! read more

This review is solely for SERVICE as I did not stay around to eat. I arrived Saturday morning at 0800 to a barely 1/4 occupied restaurant in the Tacoma Marriott. Sign at the host station states "Please Wait to be Seated" and I waited and I waited, for 5 minutes. It appeared to be an eternity for a weary traveler who arrived at 0200 that morning and was hungry. There was a person working the bar area, a dish bus person and one waiter/waitress. After the five minutes the waitress had the gall to look at me and say she will be with me in a minute then proceed to take the order of two gentleman already seated at their table. After another 1 minute of taking their order and another 3-4 minutes talking about how each of the gentlemen's days were going, she entered their order than finally address me and show me a table, where she left me a menu and walked away. Two other groups were sequentially shown their table. 7 minutes later, I have no water, not been addressed, and the waitress proceeds to take the order of the family that came after me. Waitress then goes to the register and entered their order. When the waitress began walking towards the 2nd group and away from me, I could not take it anymore and just stood up and walked out of the restaurant. We recently stayed at the Marriott and it was so easy to frequent this restaurant as it was right on site. We had dinner the first night, a friend and I went back for drinks, and lunch the next day. First night the restaurant was busy and we unfortunately didn't get our order in until after 2 big tables had ordered. It worked out though as we had drinks and an appetizer and the kids had a book and a tablet for amusement. Our server was Ashley and she was fantastic! Super happy we were assigned to her section as she made our experience a great one when it might not have been so otherwise. We had an awkward moment where 3 D.E.N. grilled cheeses were delivered to the table. One was to have egg added and the other two had bacon added. Pretty easy...well he was thoroughly confused. He thought they all had egg ("Clearly this is egg!" to both us and our server when she rushed over to see what was up) but in the end we got exactly what was ordered....the egg he was seeing was oodles of gooey cheese. I wished I could have tasted the onion jam more. I'm a cheeseaholic but the cheeses really did overpower the sandwich. Fries were good...beer battered as were the sweet potato fries. Drinks were excellent and very fast service to the table! My friend and I met up at the bar later that evening to finish what we started earlier...rum and cokes and Lavender Fields's. Yum! There was some great people watching (inducing both laughter and eyerolls). The bartenders and servers again were on fire as it was quite busy. Lunch the next day wasn't the best experience. Our server appeared to be somewhat new but we got through it. I got the D.E.N. burger which was great but too much for me for lunch. Part of our order was forgotten or maybe not taken but that was rectified quickly. We tried to split the bill at the end...down the middle with two cards but there server said she was unable to do that. I just put it on mine and we figured it out later. All in all we liked it here. I'm not sure I'd end up here if I wasn't staying at the Marriott and yet several of the employees were standouts which is reason enough to pop in when I'm in the area! read more

Very nice atmosphere. We were seated immediately and offered water and coffee. We ordered the Foraged mushroom hash and an extra plate because we share meals. Which I recommend people share meals whenever they are dining out. We got our plates and the portion was colossal. We quickly divided up the plate and began to devour the delight before us. The food looked fantastic. That's where it pretty much ended. First and foremost the potatoes were rough chopped and very large pieces. Due to the rough chop the cooking time varies. This made it so some of the potatoes were under cooked. The shemeji mushrooms were the reason that we ordered the hash. The mushrooms were buried on the bottom and there were very few. Also the entire plate needed more salt. When we ordered a hash we were expecting a hash. This was more like a scramble. My recommendation to make the dish better: Smaller potatoes on the bottom, then layer mushrooms. The mushrooms should be varying types of mushrooms to make them stand out in the dish. Then the eggs. Let's not forget the salt. The wait staff was the win here... very attentive and checked in often. Continually refilling coffee and water. The waitress made us feel welcome. We will come back... but we will try something else on the menu. read more

The food was incredible, and while the service still has some kinks to work out, I couldn't be happier with the lengths our server went to to make things good. The lamb lollipops were perfectly cooked, and the crab cakes were delicious. I had old fashioneds that were made just to my liking. One star only because the food itself was good. The service was downright terrible and they could not care less. We had a reservation but despite multiple servers and hostess looking at the entry to be seated lined, we continued to wait. By the time we were seated and given menus a couple other tables were seated with drink orders taken and processed (right next to us, I might add). I finally had to flag someone down after 20 min. just to get water and since I finally had their attention we put our order in to. By this time the line to be seated is getting longer and finally a gentleman comes out who looks like he might be charge based upon his attire, he ignores the group up front forcing parties to chase after him. One guy goes up and introduces himself as an old pal nice to see ya blah blah and the guy still walks away from the group at the front of line. He finally gets to that group and they let him have it (thank god!) But he doesn't seem to care and after they are finally seated he takes his "old pal" to a private room! Food comes and my husband's meal is wrong so that was a nice cherry on top to this whole disaster. The person who served us apologized profusely as shes not a server and was just trying to make sure we got what we needed, so kudos to her at least! Her manager could use a lesson. read more
