Last night was my first visit to Antonio's with my girlfriend and it was over all a very nice dining experience. To start with all the staff was very friendly and helpful giving advice towards menu options and their happy hour. We decided to start with two happy hour $5 lime margaritas and they tasted so good. For our main course we both went with the x2 cheese enchiladas meal. Being predominantly vegetarian it's important to us not to have animal fat in our beans. Having called ahead I was reassured that all of the beans served are vegetarian. The food was mouth watering delicious and the enchiladas were made with corn which I personally love. The outside patio is very comfortable and accommodating with lots of tables. What a great first impression and I will definitely be coming back. read more

We had lunch and had a very good meal. I would return again. But I hope after reading this, the management would clean all of the ceiling HVAC vents. All of the vents are caked with grease. I sat down at a table and looked up and noticed the grease. Yum! Great spot to get street tacos. I had my usual carne asado taco and carnitas taco. A salsa bar would be a great feature for this restaurant. It was a nice place to sit outside and have a quick bite. Located on Sierra, close to the river. The horchata is very good here. This place is amazing! My boyfriend and I went in Santa Crawl and the place was busy with crawlers. The service was amazing with warm welcomes and assistance. We were there for the fun too but needed food. I order three tacos: pollo, carne and chorizo. With how busy this place was, the tacos came out pretty quick and we're nicely hot. Each meat was perfectly seasoned and a decent amount of meat per taco. My favorite was the chorizo. It has a wonderful amount of spice to it. read more

Ended up here when the restaurant we had planned ended up being closed for a private event. What a wonderful find. The food was excellent and some of the best I've ever had in the US. The margaritas were okay, felt a little like a mix was used. Service was lousy when we first got there but improved as more staff came in. My colleague had the steak fajitas and it looked and smelled wonderful, i had the veggie burrito and loved it - lots of peppers and mushrooms and a fantastic sauce. Our campus tour of University of Nevada, Reno was canceled due to snow, so we wandered around the Riverwalk District. Antonio's was the perfect spot for our picky family of four. Came in on a Saturday evening and was greeted upon entry. I ordered 2 gorditas (salsa verde and carnitas) they were spectacular, the flavor was spot on. My husband ordered a torta de carne asada and my oh my was that torta huge! We also ordered a taco de al pastor which also exceeded our expectations. If you decide to come here you have to try their horchata, I would say it's the best horchata I've EVER had. Friend and I came though Reno for a weekend trip and found this place while walking around, it is a smaller place on the corner and looked like it would be good. The staff was nice, and the food came out fast, the burritos are good, but they don't have much heat to them so you will want to make sure you get some salsa to put in it. So let's go get some tacos, Walking in downtown reno...we saw this place...Antonio's right by the movie theaters...they had an A Frame sign saying $9 taco special...so we go in and order our food...the bartender/host/server...I believe she does everything there and the cook just makes and delivers the food to the table...anyways, we didn't care how long the food took, only 2 people working...we get it. But the fact is, we didn't get what we ordered and then get changed for it...was super unfair. And then the lady kept saying what we ordered but all we said before she handed her the menus was, "hey can we get the taco specials". Food and service were ok but much less than expected. I live close to downtown so was really hoping for more. They apparently don't even pay attention to what their menu says because they did not have carnitas (!) so I ordered carne asada, but my burrito did not have most of the items mentioned on the menus: PREPARED WITH HOMEMADE REFRIED BEANS [no beans at all], FRESH ROMAINE LETTUCE [some lettuce bits but not much], TOMATO [none], SOUR CREAM [nope-had to ask for it as a side] & AVOCADO [none]. We also got the food before the silverware, & no one ever asked if we needed anything else. The food was DISGUSTING! We saw the cook dump it all in the microwave to warm it up as it was pre-made beef. It tasted stale and had no flavor at all. Not on the tortas, or on the awful burrito. The worse thing was the service also... we waited patiently for our drinks and they never arrived until we were done and ready to leave. I told the waitress that I no longer wanted the drink because we were done, and instead of apologizing, she got this ugly look on her face. I didn't complain and even left a tip, and we simply got the heck out of there as soon as we could! Btw... the food was so awful that we did not even finish half of it. Stumbled upon this place while my boyfriend and I were waiting for our movie to start. Upon entering, I noticed that the interior was very cozy and gave off a very casual vibe. Since it was a Tuesday, I ordered the daily special which consisted of three tacos of my choice. I chose two al pastor tacos and one carne asada. For $7 (one taco is usually $3), I think that I got my money's worth. The tacos were a generous size and came with plenty of meat. I wish there were more toppings other than cilantro and onions. We also ordered guacamole and chips and that tased great. My only complaint was that our food took a while to get to our table. I think we ended up waiting for around 20 minutes for three tacos and three taquitos. The place was pretty empty when we went as well. I have no complaints about the staff or our server. They were very welcoming to us and genuinely looked like they enjoyed their job. Overall, I had a pretty good experience at Antonio's and wouldn't mind coming back to try new things! read more

My boyfriend and I have been here 3 times previously, but always outside. This 4th time his sister and nephews were visiting from California and we thought since the food was good the last 3 times it would be good. Unfortunately it all was not good. We didn't get the basic free chips and salsa. Inside was small and cramped. And John Taffer from bar rescue would be disappointed, they served us margaritas in a pint glass!! And we specifically asked for a strong margarita. We basically paid for a pint full of sweet and sour mix. For $12, what a ripoff!! My boyfriend had ordered his usual, a wet burrito and he said he it was not the same as the last couple of times he had ordered it. Authentic Mexican food and drinks! Definitely don't pass up the horchata here, it's made fresh everyday and is probably my favorite in Reno. The bartender/server recommended adding Hennessy, which I don't normally drink, to the horchata.. wow it was so good! I'm personally a street taco girl, and at the price of 2.95 a taco, I usually get about 4! I have only tried the pork (al pastor) and the carne asada tacos. Of the two I think the carne asada are my favorite, but they were both delicious. The staff is very friendly and fun, if you have a chance to sit at the bar there are some unique bottles on display and the bartenders are a good time. The second night we went, there was no pastor after we had ordered it. They asked what we wanted instead. We chose asada. The asada was not as flavorful and was a bit disappointed. We wanting something quick and not too heavy because we were going to eat dinner shortly after. Antonio's popped up right away and I was intrigued by the great reviews. I got the fish taco combo (tilapia and shrimp) and it came with rice and beans. The tilapia was cooked perfectly and it was a healthy portion too. Shrimp was also great but a little smaller portion. Usually I don't have high expectations when it comes to the rice/beans at Mexican joints, but their rice/beans were so delicious. I loved the price of the combo too. Finally tried Antonio's for lunch, first time I've been to this location since Tacos Del Mar left. I was immediately impressed by the menu options and the smell that hinted that this was not a chain Mexican restaurant. The owners work at the restaurant taking order and cooking and they were both friendly and welcoming. I ordered the 3 taco combo with carne asada. It arrived quickly and was exactly what I was hoping for. Fresh tortillas packed with delicious looking meat and a light spread of cilantro, onions, and hot sauce with a side of lime. The beans and rice were also very good and made in the traditional style. Irma checked in on us to make sure everything was good, which is was. For the price, this is a steal in downtown Reno and fits in well for the area. Looking forward to going back soon and trying some of the other dishes. They validate for the parking garage next to Silver Peak so parking is not an issue. They also have a kids menu so bring the kids with you read more

To properly review this restaurant, we should go back to the year 1994. On the eve of my birth, a winter storm barred my parents from a proper hospital delivery. My father delivered me in the backseat of the family Buick. How beautiful it was that the place of my conception was also the place of birth. Guadalupe, a complete stranger to our family at the time, brought my mom and dad fajitas. These fajitas tasted like the "bread of Jesus." My fathers words. On his last visit to Reno, we came to this restaurant. My dad ordered the fajitas. He cried when they touched his lips. "Guadalupe?" He asked. Instantly my dad was transported back to that musty Buick backseat from 1994. Since that date, he had not tried fajitas that good, and on this date, he did.
