A group of my friends and I were visiting NYC and stopped by St. Marks. We needed a quick and affordable fix so we decided to try Anytime Street. It was a no frills, fast and casual eatery. We've never tried a cupbop and was eager to try. Adding dumplings and one of their refreshing drinks was the perfect trio. Since we had 7 people, we basically ordered everything off the menu and it was delicious!

Cheap eat spot in Manhattan! Their cupbop ranges from $8.99 to $10.99, or $11.99 if you want to make it half and half. Students can enjoy extra 10% off. Although the rice bowl portion size is relatively small than a regular korean rice bowl, it's totally enough for me and my friend. They load up our bowls with meat, kimchi and salad so it is more filling than we thought. The fried dishes are also made to order. I can see myself coming back for affordable meals. *Bulgogi & Pork Katsu Cupbop *Spicy Pork & Popcorn Chicken Cupbop** We agreed their sweet and spicy sauce is really good, meaning you can't go wrong with their spicy food. The rice is seasoned with seaweed, mayo, and we can taste a hint of yuzu flavor from the salad dressing. Spicy pork and popcorn chicken are our favorite protein toppings. *Regular Chicken Mandu *Sweet and Spicy Chicken Mandu** WOW the deep fried mandu is so delicious! The regular one comes with a sweet soy sauce to dip into, while the sweet and spicy one is coated with a shiny glazed sauce, giving it a richer flavor profile. Each mandu is stuffed with chicken so it's very filling.

Before heading home, we wanted to get a quick bite to eat. I noticed Anytime Street, looked like they would offer some fast options. In particular I wanted to eat here because I was interested in the Kimbop. I had to wait in a very slow moving line to then be told they were out of the kimbop. This was a let down. They should post a sign, indicating they were sold out, to avoid wasting people's time. I had to quickly order something else, because we had to go home, leaving me no time to look for other options. So I got the chicken mandu. These are essentially fried dumplings. This is not something I would typically get at all. They were five of them for $7.50. These were very greasy, the sauce was flavorful. These are okay in a rush, but they aren't my favorite.

An inordinate amount of deliciously crispy chicken katsu for $12. The rice was soft and seasoned with nori (seaweed) and kimchi. It does get a little greasy/heavy after a while considering, so I advise asking for no mayo on the rice, then adding their gochujang mayo (on the counter) as needed! Although there is a seating area, it's quite small and filled with kitchen fumes, so it's better to find a place outside or take it to go.

    Tonkatsu Cup-bop SOOO GOOD!!!

Starving and unsure of exactly what I was in the mood for, I stumbled upon the picture display of the menu outside the door. I vaguely remember the same display capturing my attention while passing by over the summer. The options seemed good and prices seemed reasonable, so in I went. I ordered the Tonkatsu Cup-Bop which took just a few minutes to prepare. Look, I can't remember the last time I reviewed a place on the very same day. Idk if it's cuz I was starving, but the food was amazing! Every single element was cohesive and yummy. The tonkatsu was perfectly crispy and the sauce was delish. The salad with yuzu dressing offers the brightness and freshness a dish like this needs. The seaweed gives the rice flavor and the kimchi is the cherry on top. I'm talking about this dish like it's from a Michelin restaurant lol. Seriously, give this place a try if you're in the area! The only thing I'll say is that the portion is kinda on the small side unless you have a dainty appetite. I would love to see them offer a large size for a few dollars more. All in all, great find!

I got to try all of the cupbops, drinks, and their two dumpling options and everything is delicious and worth getting! The tonkatsu is so crispy and flavorful. The bulgogi was chewy and tender. The spicy pork was not too spicy. The soy bibimbap is a great vegan option. The dumplings are deep fried and filled with a good amount of meat! All the cupbop bowls come with kimchi, Japanese mayo, crushed seaweed, and some spring mix. The drinks are all refreshing as well. The drinks that say "bang" are basically like sparkling juice beverages, but my favorite was the Watermelon! It was so fresh and sweet. The servers who work behind the counter are amazing. The girl who took our order was kind throughout and she asked us how everything tasted after. There's some seating, but not a lot. It's a small spot; probably better for a grab and go, but I would come here to grab a small meal or on-the-go rice bowl!

Great location right on st marks! The staff was so friendly and the store is very clean with AC on the porch for when you're eating. I love their options. Most popular is chicken katsu bowl or popcorn chicken bowl. They also have a half and half combo if you can't decide. I came here because many dishes have kimchi and I absolutely love kimchi!!!! It was a really great and filling meal and a good price too. To be honest, it was a bit too saucy and sweet and the kimchi was more of a sauce than I expected. I wasn't personally a big fan of this but I can see why many others like this place! I also tried one of their fun drinks for $5.99 as well and the kyschee was really refreshing just a bit sweet :) Enjoy!

Decided to come by here instead of the other place I was on my way to, and I'm glad I did! So many great options to choose from when deciding what you want in your cupbop, and I want to say all of the options were around $10 which is honestly unbeatable. I ordered the popcorn chicken cupbop and waited around 15mins for my order. I was sitting in the small seating area they have, unable to hear them when they called my name (but when I walked in I saw them tap the glass window when someone else's order was up so I figured that's what they'd do for me). They were nice enough to bring my food to me. You get a really good amount of food for the price. Super generous with the chicken, and you have to dig a little to get to the rice and toppings, but it wasn't a huge deal. I think what I would have liked is for the popcorn chicken to be crispier and smaller so that it would be easier to eat with the rice. This had more of a sesame chicken feel to it. It tasted great; it just wasn't exactly what I was expecting. I'd absolutely come back to try more options, though!

This is a great place to stop by if you want food quickly and filling. I got the chicken katsu cup Bob and my friend got the half half with the fried shrimp and spicy pork. All of them were really good and flavorful. I actually appreciated the "salad" on top too as it made the meal feel more balanced. There isn't that much seating but when I went there weren't that many customers so we were able to find a seat in the seating porch area.

Lots of options for cupbop! Each cup comes with rice, kimchi, salad, and a protein. They are all around $10, but I think it was slightly overpriced for the portion size and quality. The food was good, but I think I would have liked the food to be more authentic. The bulgolgi was somewhat dry, and the rice was not super fresh. The service was good, and there are a few small tables to eat at.

Very affordable casual Korean style rice bowls. Each rice bowl is around $10 depending on the protein. Food was generally good, portions are very decent (rice to topping ratio is excellent). Each bowl came with kimchi topping, nori mixed into rice, salad greens, your protein choice. I love the combination, keeps the meal interesting. Good service, a bit slow when it's busy, small menu. There are two small tables in a mostly-enclosed outdoor area with minimal AC. Be careful about the ledge (your chair can fall off if you scoot backwards a few inches!!!!!)There is no bathroom available (as far as I know). There also seems to be counter seating along a ledge inside the store. What we liked: - soy bibim rice cup - popcorn chicken cup (a bit over-fried to me personally) - drinks (watermelon, peach) I got the combo with fried shrimp and beef bulgogi. It was decent, but I didn't love the fried shrimp- it was a bit flavorless and the crust was more thickly packed than crispy. The spicy pork also have mixed reviews. It seemed like the more popular items were the popcorn chicken and katsu bowls. I would definitely return to try to katsu (pork or chicken) bowls for the amazing price. tl;dr affordable (~$10) Korean rice bowls, get the soy bibim or popcorn chicken, or try the katsu bowls, very limited "indoor" seating with minimal AC (2 small tables, be careful with the ledge), counter seating inside also minimal AC, no bathroom

    Chicken Teriyaki Cup-bop
    Ellen L.

This place is a decent option if you're looking for something quick to pick up for a meal, but i also think there are other quick options nearby. I got the chicken teriyaki cup-bob and I asked for it to be spicy. There really wasn't much to it. They had the chicken that was already premade and dumped a bunch of hot sauce on top (it wasn't that spicy). Then added some huge lettuce leaves, rice, and pickled vegetables. However, it was really quick and was ready within a few minutes of me ordering. They have a few small tables and bar seating inside if you want to eat there, but it is mostly self service. I didn't like it enough to crave it again, but definitely worth stopping here if you're looking for a quick bite to eat and don't have many options.

Grabbed a late bite with family and fiance --generous portions and very delicious. The staff is friendly. The signature fruity drinks were so good. The food was super satisfying and affordable in the heart of NYC.

The effortless tranquility encourages you to slow down, enjoy the food, and get away from the everyday, hubbub. Their menu leans into fusion dishes with a nod to some of the classic home-style classics. Everything is presented with a refined, elevated touch. Here's what we ordered: ~ Tako Wasabi - 5/5 stars A fiery delight. This appetizer feartures chopped raw octopus marinated in wasabi. It has a lively zest from the wasabi and is topped with tobiko, which adds a pleasant contrast in texture. ~ Honey Makgeolli - 4/5 stars A traditional fermented Korean beverage that is light and pairs brilliantly with your meal. It is a cloudy alcholoic drink served in a metal teapot, and surprisingly, there is much more in that teapot than you would expect. It easily provides six to eight generous pours. The flavor is subtly sweet with a pleasant tang. ~ Temaki Set - 4/5 stars You can order a set of three by choosing from selections 1-17, or you can order a la carte at the listed prices. Some of the temaki stood out more than others. Our two sets included marinated salmon, bluefin tuna, spicy yellowtail, spicy bluefin, and two dynamite temaki. ~ Spicky Pork Ssam Set - 5/5 stars Truly another standout entree that even surpassed my beloved grilled BBQ bossam. You received a generous basket of assorte greens, including romaine, kale, perilla leaves, dandelion leaves, nappa cabbage, and more. It is well worth the price and makes for a fun, interactive dining experience with your family and friends. There is also various banchan offered and this time, they were beyond kind enough to offer refills. The last time we were here, we ordered just as much food and they stated they normally did not offer refills, which I thought was very odd. With its casual bougie aesthetics, this spot has quickly become one of my favorite eateries in Fort Lee-lee, It beautifully blends Korean, Japanese, and American flavors in a way that feels both comforting and elevated. They have great reviews and it is definitely warranted. The restaurant has a solid website, giving accurate information about the hours and menu. It indicated that weekday lunch time would be a good time to try their value-based lunch menu, letting us sample some of their dishes. We walked over from our hotel just before their opening time of noon, and got in line just as they opened. It was a decent size queue, but the dining space inside was large, and everyone in line was able to be seated (including us). Our main server was Jiwoong, and she was lovely throughout. A carafe of tap water was provided with two glasses, so we could refill our own water (I love this about Korean restaurants...wish other restaurants did something similar). Multiple servers interacted with us throughout, and the beautifully prepared food was delivered exactly on time, with the proper temperature. We ended up ordering 4 things. The non-ipa beer on tap was Ball Lightning Pilsner ($9 for 12 oz) and it was OK. Fried Cod Appetizer ($15) - coming out first, the five chunks of lightly deep fried cod was OK, enhanced by the tartar like sauce. There are four choices from the Lunch Premium Bapsang (a set meal with rice, Japanese equivalent is Teishoku), and we chose two of them. I had the Grilled Atka Mackerel ($19), and my wife had the Spicy Pork BBQ ($21). Both came with white rice, a light bean sprout soup (decent), kimchi (not my favorite), a simple green leaf salad, 3 banchans (loved the fish cakes), some grapes, and a light custard based dessert (which was good). I liked my mackerel, well prepared and fried. The pork was indeed spicy with good flavor. Reading about the restaurant later, learnt that the name came to the founder, meaning two things. 'Han' represents a uniquely Korean emotion of mixed grief, sadness, and hidden resentment...we know that we shouldn't feel this way, but we feel a bit better that other Koreans feel it too. It is also the last name of the founder's mother (most Koreans keep their last name after marriage), so the name is an homage (that's what I read on their facebook page) to her. The restaurant is part of the Resy network, and thus using our AMEX provided a $20 statement credit (once a month...this is my favorite sort of credit since the credit is entirely funded by AMEX, and the restaurant gets their full charged amount). Payment was handled at the table, and we were out in under an hour. As we were leaving, we noticed that there now was a queue to get in, so we came at the right time. In terms of the food, I thought the overall taste was good, but the service, extremely reasonable prices, beautiful presentation, and just the overall atmosphere bumped this up to a great rating.

I understand they're very busy and have bookings, but it was only about 45 minutes in. Anyways, the experience itself was great. They cooked all our food for us and everything was great quality. Banchans were refreshed and refilled - sometimes without being asked. We were very well taken care of. The pancake was good as well as the tartare. HIghlight was definitely the meat and banchans though. We all got ice cream at the end and birthday boy even got a candle in his with some sprinkles. Super cute and very nice of them.

The slaw was good. The radish had a bit too much a jalepeno taste from what I was used to. Impressive looking dish! Was pretty good! The kimchi fried rice with steak - it's like 5 slices of steak but it's so good. Fried egg too. I finished that whole thing so fast. I can't even lie, it was so good. I could see myself getting this again. Vibes are immaculate, the service was good with my glass never getting empty. They have a max sit time of an hour and 45 minutes. Kinda pricy but def has the vibes and decent upscale-type Korean food!

We also wanted to get drinks, however 2 of the 5 of us didnt have ID and were told if one person didnt have ID, no one could get drinks. I felt like everything we got was unfortunately just okay. The wings had decent flavor but they were small and barely had any meat in them. The seafood tteobokki felt like it lacked depth. The pork shank was unfortunately extremely dry. And the fries were as they come, but the truffle sauce was also nothing special. Overall, glad we tried it but probably a one and done

Tomorrow will be our last day in New York. We had plans to head up to the Empire State Building…read moreObservatory in the evening, so we stopped here for a quick simple dinner with just one hour to spare. We ordered marbled beef steak and naengmyeon, hoping for a speedy meal. Surprisingly, the beef, cold noodles and banchan all blew us away. The marbled beef was outstanding, and our server grilled it perfectly -- it melted in our mouth. Their mushroom sauce was absolutely fantastic. The broth for the buckwheat cold naengmyeon was authentic beef stock, rich and savory without overpowering the natural flavor of the ingredients. The banchan were also incredibly well-made; we finished nearly every side dish on the table. Service was quick and efficient too. It's such a shame we only discovered this restaurant on our final day, we wish we'd come here earlier. I'd highly recommend this spot. Overall rating: 4.5 to 5 out of 5 stars.

They advertised themselves as having the best katsu in NYC and they may just be right. With our order it came with a bunch of side dishes. Kimchi, Marconi salad, and mashed potatoes, and others. They were all good. Food came out pretty quick as well. Don't think we waited too long for anything. After we were done they gave us some ice cream. I would absolutely love to come back here again for lunch and probably will.

You get to choose three appetizers, two mains, and one dessert, so it's a great way to try a variety of dishes, especially if you're sharing. The service was friendly and attentive, even though the restaurant was pretty busy. We did have to wait about 20 minutes past our reservation before being seated, but everything went smoothly after that. The restaurant is beautiful inside- liked the interior design choices a lot! My favorite dishes were the asparagus japchae, lotus root gangjeong, and the Korean melon dessert. Overall really enjoyed the meal and would definitely come back to try the regular menu.

Solid Korean spot with a calm, dim interior. We made res for restaurant week as a group of 6, which…read moreallowed us to try a little of everything on their menu. What I got: - Asparagus Japchae: Very good - instead of traditional Japchae noodles, it's sliced asparagus and mushroom. The marinate was delish! - Shrimp Pancake: It was more like an omelette. Not so much of the actual pancake batter. - Spicy Fried Chicken: Nicely fried, standard. The spicy sauce is on the side, which allows us to adjust our bite. - Bossam: I enjoyed this! More Bossam pieces than lettuce, but overall taste of the meat was good. It didn't have the "bland pork" taste. - Pyongyang Cold Noodle: This was my first time having this dish. Seemed pretty traditional. The broth was on the lighter end for me. - Korean Melon: LOVEDD this dessert! A refreshing way to end the meal. The menu denotes cheese, but it wasn't even noticeable. It has a few toasted pine nuts mixed in, which were SOO good. Overall, a very filling meal and worth the $60 restaurant week value! Nothing absolutely blew me away, BUT the flavors were solid and the staff were great. Would come back for another deal!
