The options on the menu are limited but decent enough for a comforting quick-fix when we are craving for Thai food as a weekday lunch. We got 2 appetizers, Chicken Satay ($7.95) & Crab Rangoon ($5.95) and 2 Entrees, Drunken Noodles with Beef ($13.95) & Green Curry Rice Box with Salmon ($13.95). The price varies with different entrees. We were impressed with its portion and the reasonable price. The portion of each is more than enough to share between two people. We ended up doing a to-go for our Rice Box and Chicken Satay. The food was overall delicious, especially the Crab Rangoon. Never thought they would be a perfect match. Green Curry- very flavorful Green Curry (not water down like many places) also spicy enough! Creamy Tom Yum with Chewy Tofu - delicious and the chewy tofu is interesting. I quite like it. The soso: Pad See Ew with Beef - the beef was great and generous amount. So thoroughly confused by the good reviews... I ordered the rice box and the food quality was absolutely atrocious. The chicken was completely unseasoned, and some pieces were so rubbery they were completely inedible. Unlike every other restaurant in the world, when you order curry here the protein isn't cooked in the sauce, but presented dry and unseasoned with a side of sauce for you to add on. By that time, though, it is far too late for the protein to acquire any flavor (or moisture) from the sauce. Unless their regular chef skipped town, or there's a lot of fake ratings, I can not reconcile the 5 star reviews on this page with the awful food I was served. Hidden gems!!!! Please try this small restauran if you have a chance. It's a little reclusive in a non touristic area, but the food is excellent. We ordered fried chicken wings, Crab Rangoon, pineapple tied rice, rice box of Massaman chicken curry, roti matcha and Thai tea. Chicken wings: flavorful 5 spices deep fried, super crunchy. Crab Rangoon: no so crunchy. Can be better. Pineapple fried rice: no too oily, simple but tasty. We ordered it with slow cooked beef (very similar to Chinese stewed beef). It comes with a lot of onion, if you don't like it let the staff know. Rice box Massaman chicken rice: the curry has a very balanced flavor, sweet and mild spicy level. Roti matcha: regular roti with the sweet matcha sauce ( I like matcha so I like this a lot) Thai tea: made by the restaurant. Medium sweetness but very smooth and milky. Overall very good Thai comfort food. Nothing fancy but just make you feel better in a cold day. * We were too hungry to remember to take pictures. This was the worst Thai food I have ever experienced. The flat noodles from the chicken Pad See Ew were rubbery and dried. The chicken was hard, and the broccoli was extremely salty. Stopped by for a quick lunch. Picked up the pad thai with tofu. The tofu was extremely chewy, almost mimicking meat so it's a great alternative for vegans or vegetarians. Just discovered this hidden gem in lower east side. This was my first time at 7-elephants and it was absolutely amazing! They leave the crushed peanuts on the side in a little bag which you can add yourself which is considerate for those who may have peanut allergies. I walk past this place everyday and was very excited to finally see this place open. It's not common to see restaurants opening during tough times in the middle of a pandemic while others are closing. The menu is very easy to follow. All entrees are 11.95 or 13.95 depending on the protein of your choice. You can either get a rice box or a fried noodle. My husband and I both box the chicken rice box. He picked the basil sauce with plain pad Thai and broccoli. The sauce was not too salty and had a kick of spice from the jalapeño. I picked the massaman curry with broccoli and mushroom. They give you enough sauce which is enough for you to save the leftover sauce for another meal. The massaman curry was creamy and flavorful, perfect when mixed with rice. Originally, I thought this would be a buffet style place but it's actually made to order. It was about a 10 mins wait for my food. Since they're doing a soft opening promotion, you get a Thai ice tea or coffee with every entree! The food was still good after a 10 min walk bringing it home in 20 degree weather. The lady that served me was super nice and sweet. Possibly the owner. I would definitely order from them again. We need to support local business especially during these times. read more

Worst Pad See Ew I've ever had. Instead of Chinese Broccoli -- I mean they're in Chinatown -- , they used regular broccoli. Beef came in a big chunk instead of thin slice. I'm not sure what they're trying to recreate. Chicken with Garlic Sauce was sliced chicken with some roasted garlic over rice with omelette side and bland mushrooms. Garlic sauce was packed separately and was so salty! I've never had Thai food served like this. So happy to see this new Thai restaurant in the neighborhood. The portions are filling and the price is good- all the dishes are under 15 bucks. The place is meant to be more of a grab and go - and good for a quick lunch or dinner. They have a fridge full of their pre-made Thai ice tea and Thai coffee in cute bottles. For pre-made tea it was sooo good!! I'm so picky about Thai ice tea and this was super creamy and sweet. For appetizers I got the crab Rangoon, satay, and curry rolls. Again everything so flavorful - love the crab Rangoons with the sweet yet spicy sauce. The satay was full of flavor and loved dipping it in peanut sauce. The curry rolls were so unique - it was like a cross between a curry puff and a spring roll. For entrees I tried the pad Thai and the portions are so generous, it was filled to the brim, could barely finish it. I had it with the chewy tofu it's def an interesting texture and taste- my husband really like it. When you order curry - it is accompanied with a rice box. The owners stated that in Thailand it's very common for people to have a rice box with protein, side of veggies, and curry to dip for lunch. It was cute almost reminded me of a bento box. I got the green curry - again flavors were so good and blew me away and I couldn't stop sprinkling it over my rice. BUYER BEWARE. I love Thai food. Even mediocre Thai hits the spot. But this is NOT Thai food. It's below average cafeteria Chinese bargain food that calls itself Thai. (Not to ding Chinese food--I love it, and we great ones in the neighborhood.) I ordered the Chicken Massaman and the Basil Tofu yesterday delivery from Uber Eats. :( On the plus side, it was delivered super fast with a free huge Thai iced tea. Upon opening the containers, which are huge and plastic, I see a ton of white rice with a good amount of bland-looking what I assumed was sauteed slices of chicken on it. No nothing else sauteed with the chicken. The rice was not jasmine rice (which is what Thai restaurants give you) but overcooked white short grain rice. Ends up the "Massaman" sauce came in another plastic take out container. Just a brown sauce/liquid. No visible garlic, onion, or other Thai ingredients. On the side were huge tough sliced "mushrooms"--like the cheap "king oyster" you get at a Chinese market. I will you spare you the details, but they are not what most of us expect "mushrooms" to be like. They take a lot of chewing to get down. And barely any seasoning. My side of broccoli was OK. But nothing to write home about. Same exact experience with "Basil sauce." It resembled nothing like was I would expect a Thai basil dish to be like. I don't know what this establishment is trying to pull, but its food is worth about $4.95 (I am being generous.), not the over $10 they charge. I think you could wander randomly into any establishment in Chinatown and get better food than this. There's a great vegan Thai restaurant just a block away. Of course, we have some other outstanding restaurants on East Broadway and of course Clinton Street that would blow your socks off. I hate to ding a restaurant during these tough covid times, but with the quality of the food, I'm not sure they're employing anyone who knows how to cook. I was pretty disappointed by this place. It is not authentic Thai food by any means, so let's just level set the expectations starting there. Curry sauces - good, average tasting. Not great but not offensive. Tom Yum soup - I don't even know how on earth they thought they could call it by this name. Tom Yum soup is supposed a combination of hot, sour, tangy, and sweet. This soup was the right color, but it's the wrong taste. It was flavorless broth, did not hit any of the notes it was supposed to. Very sad. Plain white rice - overcooked and mushy. Broccoli side - large cuts of broccoli that are hard to eat in one bite, and slightly undercooked before being stir fried to death in sauce. Mushroom side - large slices of mushroom cooked in sauce. It was okay. Nothing special. Salmon - I got two pieces of salmon. One was pan fried. The other one was pan fried with some kind of batter or egg? Was this on purpose? Was I not supposed to get two pieces of salmon that looked the same and had the same texture? Mysteries. Beef - with garlic soy sauce.
