I took it to Wolfie who deftly disassembled the entire machine, discovered that I had the wrong keyboard, then built up a replacement with pieces from the old and new keyboards. This involved careful work on plastic pieces. The result has worked great now for a couple of weeks. I give Wolfie my highest recommendation.

I took my personal laptop in to Metro PC works after getting a recommendation from my boss…read more Chris was super nice on the phone, said his shop guy George would take care of me. I spoke with George when i dropped the machine off. Told him what i wanted. Asked him about the hardware that they use, which was in line with my research. They did the MS 10 install and data migration, which was difficult because the old drive had a corrupt sector. George was able to work some magic and retrieve the data. He also tested everything, installed some free AV software that runs in the back ground without being resource hogs. I totally recommend Metro PC Works. I am particular about who i trust my machine with, and will definitely use these guys again. They are courteous, knowledgeable, trustworthy, and priced reasonably. They were rude, lazy and you had to go through a 30-minute conversation with someone before you can even schedule. Needless to say, we dumped them. Then I blew out my computer. I waited and waited to find someone to help me with my computer. I was so scared I was going to have to deal with another horrible experience. Then, I found Eastwind Computers and I just love the store. It has everything for computers; especially, build your own. The gentlemen we dealt with were very nice and friendly. I handed my laptop off to him to be repaired (broken screen hinge) and he said he'd give me a quote within 2 days or so. He ended up giving me the exact price for the part needed as well as his service fee within less than 24 hours. And of course, I'm very happy my laptop is working again! :)

Lucky for me, Google brought Steve's company up and because he had such a good rating, I gave him a call. Steve thought the new motherboard would take a week to order/arrive but it was here in 4 days & he came over the day he got it and got my PC back up and running! His labor was $180 (2 hours/2 trips to my house) & the motherboard was $100. That was a small price to pay for him to be able to save all the work, photos, music, movies I had on my hard drive!
