I spoke with George when i dropped the machine off. Told him what i wanted. Asked him about the hardware that they use, which was in line with my research. They did the MS 10 install and data migration, which was difficult because the old drive had a corrupt sector. George was able to work some magic and retrieve the data. He also tested everything, installed some free AV software that runs in the back ground without being resource hogs. I totally recommend Metro PC Works. I am particular about who i trust my machine with, and will definitely use these guys again. They are courteous, knowledgeable, trustworthy, and priced reasonably. Entropy Solutions is a lifesaver! My Canon Pixma MX492 printer stopped working after I cleared a…read morepaper jam. It gave me a 5100 error code. I work from home, so I need my multi-function printer for printing, scanning, and copying pretty regularly. I first tried calling Canon, but my printer was just months out of warranty so Canon didn't offer any IT support or repair services, but directed me to their website for tutorials. I read a bunch of tutorials on the Canon website and also googled the problem and watched several YouTube videos. I tried cleaning the cartridge glider and following other online suggestions. Nothing worked. I was beginning to fear I'd have to shell out $$$ for a brand new printer after I had just bought this one last year. Finally, I yelped a bunch of printer/computer repair services in my area. Nick was the among the first to get back to me and seemed confident he could repair my printer. The others I reached out to either said they do not service Canons, said they didn't think they could fix the printer, or just didn't get back to me at all. Nick was responsive to all my questions and gave me a fair rate, an estimate of the time required, and assurance that I would not be charged if he couldn't solve the problem. He was quick and easy to coordinate with for safe and easy drop-off and pick-up of my printer, as well as convenient payment via Venmo. Lucky for me, Google brought Steve's company up and because he had such a good rating, I gave him a call. Steve thought the new motherboard would take a week to order/arrive but it was here in 4 days & he came over the day he got it and got my PC back up and running! His labor was $180 (2 hours/2 trips to my house) & the motherboard was $100. That was a small price to pay for him to be able to save all the work, photos, music, movies I had on my hard drive!
