Stressed? You know it! Concerned about the work that would be done and how long it would take and what it would cost? Absolutely! Who isn't stressed out when their car breaks down, and they're going to a new auto mechanic??? Greeting me in the lobby were three of the nicest guys who just got into work and were in a better mood than I was... Things were looking up already... Jeff was my repair coordinator, and he immediately put me at ease and let me know that they would do everything they could to get me back up and running ASAP. I quickly booked a rental truck and Ubered to the rental location to get it and bring it back to swap the goods and get back on track. One of the technicians (Scott maybe?) helped me make the swap (above and beyond? Yup!) Quick communication on Coogler's part with some texts and emails told me they had found the problem and were on the case. Estimated time to repair? End of today or tomorrow at the latest. That's fast, I thought... Good news too because I've got more deliveries coming up. 'Tis the season... Fast forward ~4 hours and I'm getting a call from Jeff telling me my truck was ready to pick up (pun intended). What?!?!?! 4 hours and it's done!!! Got back to the rental shop, got one of their guys to take me back to Coogler's, and was back in my truck at 1:30 pm. Since then, a couple of genuinely concerned calls and emails asking if everything is still going well with the truck. Normally, when I do business with someone, they only call to ask if we can do more business. This was actual follow-up and quite refreshing. Will I work with Coogler's again? You bet I will! And if you've been looking for a dependable auto mechanic who's going to do a good job of both fixing your car AND being pleasant to work with, you should too!

Unfortunately, the tires arrived late, which I understand was outside the store's control. I made another appointment for the following day, drove back to the store, checked in, and waited about 25 minutes before being told the tires didn't meet the load requirements for my truck and they would not install them. To be fair, the staff did take the time to look into other tire sizes and brands and even contacted another store, but they were unable to find an acceptable alternative. My frustration isn't that they refused to install the tires if they didn't meet the proper specifications--that was the right decision. My frustration is that this should have been determined before the tires were ordered and before I made multiple trips to the store. A little more attention to detail on the front end would have saved everyone a lot of time and frustration. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience, and based on what I experienced, I can't recommend the Cleveland Ave location.

He took it to All Around Auto and they were able to diagnose the problem quickly. It was clear we'd have to rent him a car to drive home in and leave mine there as parts needed to be ordered and our vehicle was not first in line (they of course had other customers!). It took a week to get the parts and then a day to install the new fuel line. They were communicative and helpful thru the entire experience. It was an expensive fix, but it felt fair for all they had to do to fix the issue. Pro tip: pay in cash so you don't have to pay the credit card use fees.

He said it looks like they just put a plug in it, I do that when I get a flat for a temporary fix until I can get it patched. He said that tire needs to be replaced. Do they have a roadside repair warranty. I called and asked, they said no they don't, and they will call the distributor. Of course the distributor only offers a mechanical defect warranty. This place is bootleg, do not do business here! I wish I would have gone to a reputable shop like America's Tires! Never again!

Of course this morning my pressure sensor went off so I had to deal with it. Called them right after they opened and explained the situation, they had time right then and said to come on over. I got there , and 15mins later , the problem was fixed and I was on my way home!!! They were able to get the screw out and patch my tire and all was good!! It was a quick easy fix and the cost was next to nothing!!! Everyone who works there is super nice and friendly. And the waiting area has fish tanks, a turtle and hot wheels set for my kid to be entertained and play with. She was super happy with all that stuff while we waited!!! I definitely will come back here when I need new tires and just for anything tire related at all. They are the best!

Super professional, easy to talk to, and really clear about the process. From getting a quote to getting the dent fixed, everything was fast. I had been putting off dealing with the scratch because the last time i had a fender bender issue and had to go through insurance with an auto body shop, I'd had a bad experience with the rental car company they used trying to pin me with a ticket that wasn't mine, and long crazy story unrelated here. I had gone back to the same auto body shop (because it appeared they did a good job and they were very nice people, rental car not really their fault). But even though, to me it looked like a smaller job, they told to me it would be another biggish job, reaching into near $5000 to repair with panels, bumper, and paint repair, where I'd need a rental car co again so i had put it off, for fear of using rental car co, plus i have a $1000 deductible (ouch). To make a long story shorter i came into Downtown auto, upon referral, and met with a very nice guy, Martin. He took a look at my scratches and actually buffed them all out on the spot! (wow!) and gave me a bid to fix my front bumper for less than my deductible so i wouldn't even need to go through the insurance and rent a car! Plus, he said it'd be done in like 2 hours. I made the appointment and can't wait to update this review further. Btw, it's a comfortable waiting area, with nice glass viewing windows to see what's going on with your ride. And if you need to make a Costco run that day? It's conveniently located right across the street!

I've dealt with many auto body shops in the past, and jobs that don't involve insurance work generally get passed over as a priority. A job that is promised to take a month, turns into 18 months quickly with little communication in-between, especially with classic cars like mine. That was not Downtown Collision. They stuck to their original timeline without sacrificing the quality of work. Gabriel kept me informed on the progress of the job the whole time. Sent me photos of the progress and checked in if there were any issues that needed a decision. Can't say enough good things about the level of honest customer service. And the level of work is impeccable. I brought in a classic car that needed the roof to be treated and painted due to rust. At every step they could've taken short cuts, but didn't. The roof came back looking immaculate. Even matched the original color perfectly. They came across some areas of rust that were too far gone to treat, and did seamless patch repair. Found some great solutions to problems without obvious answers. They made sure the job was done in a way that I would be happy with and kept me informed the whole time. Can't say enough good things about Gabriel and his team. No need to look further. In a world of body shops that are frustrating to work with, Downtown Collision breaks the mold.

I brought in a black 2017 Tundra on 5-15-20 and picked it up 5-19-20 (the first time). Sean the owner asked what my concerns were. I showed him minor dents and several scratches in the paint and normal swirl marks from washing. He assured me these would be taken care of and touched up, under the ceramic top coat. When I first picked up the car the dent work had been done and so had the ceramic coat, but no paint touch up on the scratches. The buff job or polish before the Ceramic coat was trash, look at the pictures. I was specifically told they had tools to get in the door handle areas. Something was said about having trouble getting less than a quart of a paint during the lock-down...Okay, sure we'll go with that. I was again assured the scratches would be taken care of when I brought the truck back and I quote "its literally been done here time and time again with no failure or no return complaints bro." Also Shaun added he was the first around to do this and just the best in the business I mean, a name like A Perfect Experience should speak for itself...right? I picked up the truck and it was like NOTHING had been done , and what every did get done was half ass at best. The scratches are still there. How do you touch up paint scratches OVER a ceramic coat? I asked around and the real pros told me...You cant, you DON'T.! This is what happens when you try to just make a sale rather than tell your customer, we don't do that kind of work here, we're just a glorified car wash. When Shawn couldn't get the paint I was not notified. When I was supposed to pick up my truck and drop it off, I was not notified and I had to chase down the second appointment. All the while the owner never ever took the time to face me eye to eye, apologize like a man. Owning up to your mistakes is basically the No. 1 rule when doing business. So my courtesy car had a scratch on its rim. Today November 28 I had to return my courtesy car in order to get my car back. Going crazy this morning at 7 AM trying to find out where to get this fixed before later this evening. Everywhere in Marin County was no luck. I wanted to go somewhere where they would do it same day and didn't care how long it would take as long as I got it back before 5 PM. Luckily I found this place! I was very thrilled!! I arrived and the guys here were absolutely very welcoming!!! in the reception area, they told me to make myself at home which I absolutely love! No one was rude or gave me the eyes of annoyance. Smile's and made me feel welcomed! The guy who was supposed to be here to fix the rim wasn't arriving until two and they kept apologizing! But hey it's my fault for having this room scratched this morning! They went out of they're way to get me in for the day! Totally not their fault! They knew that I really needed this rim fixed and The guys went out of their way to fix this! Other places I've been to people are very kept to themselves! As I wait in the reception area they keep asking if I need anything and to make myself feel home! THEY ARE LIFE SAVERS!!! I would have had a panic attack if it weren't for them to be able to take me in today! Honestly will come back with my Mini to get it detailed and the Rims fixed very soon! Even though some time has passed since my detail I wanted to give props to Shawn. My car at the time was filthy! My daughter was little and very messy with her snacks and even would spill her drinks every so often. I tried my best to keep my car presentable by getting car washes and vacuuming the interior every few weeks but it just needed that extra special touch/ care. Well that's when I came across Shawn and found out he had a detailing company. I called and Shawn was able to squeeze me in last minute on my only day off. Unfortunately I was in pinch because I wasn't able to drop my car off since I had a family gathering the sane day and time. But Shawn was amazing and came and picked up my car for me and went fast to work to get finished for me later that afternoon, just in time for me to head home. I was beyond happy and thrilled at the job that Shawn had done! My car was sparkling and the inside smelled like a new car with not a trace of a crumb like a child had never stepped foot in the backseat which was great. I have a 1971 baby blue VW Beetle, that is by no means a show car, and over time has become my every day car. That being said, I couldn't stand seeing the paint look all dull, and worse knowing that stuff was getting in there doing it's dirty work, pun intended. Especially with winter and all the rains, I wanted to get it protected. So I popped open YELP, and this shop had great reviews and was just down the way...I made a quick call, told them my budget, what I expected as well that I needed it before the end of day. Even after showing up later than I hoped they totally took care of me like pro's. They quickly walked me through the process, the products used, etc. I needed to keep working (remotely) so logged into the WiFi, made a cup of coffee, put on some Netflix for background noise, and fired up my laptop and worked comfortably from the waiting room while they took care of the little blue beetle. My auto detail experience with APE was truly a Mother's wet dream! I was gifted an auto detail for my birthday and my expectations were completely surpassed. My Toyota rig has been completely trashed by my two kids (I bought it brand new in 2014, so for the last 5 years) and there is no way I ever could have imagined the interior/exterior would look brand spanking new the way APE made it! It is like mirrors everywhere! There was a layer of grime (interior wise) that no matter how hard I tried cleaning on my own or taking it to other detail shops, there was always a layer of film that wouldn't come off, until now! Shawn's customer service skills are impeccable and he takes great pride in his work. His team was very thorough and I couldn't be happier. After buying my car from the dealership i couldn't help but cringe every time i saw the swirl marks they left from their "detailing" team. I've know Shawn for quite sometime and after seeing his posts on Facebook i took my car in to see what could be done. We spoke about my options, all which were laid out and talked about in depth and found the best solution for my car. We did a paint correction and a ceramic coating all the way around. I wanted good service and advice on protecting my investment. I dropped in to see Keith and couldn't be more impressed. I really wanted to have his Ceramic Coating Finish but that is out of the range of my finances. But I had his other services and in that process, he taught me how to save money by investing in my own Foam Cannon truck wash system. What I experienced here was not just poor service, it was repeated negligence, excuses, and actual damage to my vehicle. I scheduled a full interior detail after an emergency situation involving a sick passenger. Before my appointment, I cleaned the majority of the affected area myself to make the job easier. When I arrived, I was assured they would take care of the interior and fully address the remaining issue for an additional charge, which I agreed to. After three hours, I returned to what can only be described as a completely untouched vehicle. The interior looked nearly identical to when I dropped it off. When I raised concerns, instead of accountability, I was blamed for "making them stay late" and for supposedly scheduling last minute, despite booking hours in advance and picking up my car two hours before closing. I gave them another opportunity to correct their mistake. The second visit resulted in minimal improvement, and new problems. My cup holder was damaged. Wiring inside my vehicle had been disturbed. When confronted, I was told they "ran out of time" - even though my car had been dropped off at opening (10:00 AM). Against my better judgment, I returned a third time. They kept my vehicle for two full days. While it was returned in better condition than before, it was still far from professionally detailed. Large areas were clearly ignored: under the seats, sections of the dashboard, parts of the seats, and the steering wheel. The job was incomplete and careless. Three visits. Multiple excuses. Physical damage to my vehicle. And a final result that did not reflect the service promised or paid for. This was one of the most frustrating and unprofessional service experiences I have had. I cannot recommend this business under any circumstance. DO NOT COME HERE PLEASE!!!!!!

I almost never write reviews--but I felt compelled to after this experience…read more I brought my 2012 Jeep Liberty into this shop after lightly bumping off the rear fender pulling into a tight garage. The fender itself was completely fine--just a few plastic clips had popped. I was quoted over $1,000 for the repair, and was told that the clips couldn't be purchased separately, so the entire fender would need to be replaced. That didn't sound quite right, so I did a little digging. Turns out the exact replacement clips were available on Amazon for under $10. I bought them, installed them myself in about 10 minutes, and the fender is now perfectly reattached. I want to be fair--this shop clearly does good work, and that's reflected in their many positive reviews. But this situation was unacceptable. Whether it was a genuine oversight or an intentional upsell, I was almost charged over $1,000 for a repair that cost me less than $10 to fix myself. Bottom line: get a second opinion before agreeing to any major work here. I'm glad I trusted my gut--someone else might not think to question it. **Edit (Response): Thanks for the reply, but I still believe this could've been handled more transparently. I understand that you're limited to certain vendors--but as a customer, I deserved to know that this was a minor issue that could be solved with a $10 part. Even if you couldn't do that repair yourself, a heads-up or honest suggestion would've gone a long way. Instead, I was led to believe a full fender replacement was my only option, which almost cost me over $1,000 for something I fixed in minutes. That's not acceptable, and I hope future customers are given more clarity and choices.
