Overall: 8/10. With all the competing pizza shops, not the best but not the worst. Sits a little above average. One thing to note, the cheese was so dense that it balls up and is really hard to swallow. Food: 8/10, Highway 1 pizza. Was good, but nothing to write home about. 10/10, Stingray pizza, I mean it has it all, spicy, sweet and deliciousness. 7/10, Mia Mushroom pizza, I've definitely had better versions at other places. Was a little too salty. 7/10, Zucchini Chips. I like the idea and they are decent but also nothing to rave about. Service: 8/10, We came peak dinner on Saturday, wait was 30 ish minutes but plenty of seating outside for waiting. Server was friendly but didn't check in mid way through and felt like she was spread too thin. Ambiance: 7/10, Inside is compact and small, but overall ok, nothing fancy.
We just stopped by randomly at this place. There's no line when we sat down, but by the time we finished , the line was out of the door. Seating: indoor and outdoor Restroom: 2 individual gender neutral restrooms We ordered: 3 lunch boxes: - vampire pizza + ceasar salad - beef short Rib with roasted mushroom and arugula + simple salad - pepperoni with caramelized onion + ceasar salad. They all tasted very good. Love it. The gal that served us is joyful and sweet.
one of the best pizzas I've had...great service as well. Theres a parking lot + free street parking! Zucchini chips (8/10): wish it was breaded but it's otherwise perfectly salted. Very thin and crispy! The left overs were a tad bit oily but still tasted good we ordered a split pizza (half the bee sting & half the stingray). The bee sting (10/10): the crust was perfectly crispy, pepperoni had the perfect shape and crunch, and the burrata + basil + hot honey was an elite combo Stingray (8.5/10): loveddddd the carmelized onions. A bit on the sweeter side & the crust was a bit soggier than I'd like, but I'd still get it again. Would def go back! It's a less than a 15 min walk to the beach!!
If you get here and there's a line, it's worth the wait. The food is delicious with generous portions. Definitely try the humus, it's excellent. My Doho salad was so good & the pizzas were all amazing! The service is super friendly- Kendra makes the experience terrific.
Came for lunch plenty of seats open, got the lunch special $24 for a pizza and salad Portions were generous I could imagine two people splitting one if they aren't too hungry Tried the vampire pie. Pizza was a 3.7/5. They say they are New Haven style but I didn't get enough char on my crust to call it that. Toppings were delicious and fresh. Service was friendly . Would come back. Truly is better incase you're choosing between the two.
Ordered ahead on my phone before they even opened, and the staff knew we were waiting in the car. They went out of their way to bring the order out to us, which was a very thoughtful touch. The food was fresh, tasty, and exactly what we were hoping for. Most importantly, both my kids and I really enjoy the flavors here, which isn't always easy to find. Great service, great food, and a genuinely welcoming experience. We'll definitely be back!
Yum! This is the first time that we actually ate our pizza in the restaurant. It's cute. It's also extremely busy and popular. We suggest going on off hours or just waiting. We got lucky we came at a non-popular time. However, as we are enjoying our pizza and our wine, it became very clear at the dinner hour there are people lined up outside. I must say the waitress was very kind. She never rushed us out. She was very patient with us as we enjoyed our last slice and last drop of wine. This is a good addition for Dana Point. You can customize your pizza. We love to do that.
Such a positive experience at aPizza Doho. We were sat immediately on a Saturday Afternoon, our server was so friendly and conversational, the outdoor seating is comfortable and you get some ocean breeze. The pizza though wow, we were able to do half and half of 2 kinds (as long as they have the same sauce!) which is amazing since every option of flavor combinations is mouthwatering. The crust was perfect, the structure, the sauce and ingredients were all top tier. I've been thinking about it ever since!! We can't wait to return. As a south county pizza snob, take it from me, it doesn't get better-- we found a new spot for sure
So delicious!! Very family style service, casual and comfortable and quick, with amazing portions and options in a cute town. Especially with competing pizza options around, Apizza Doho has it all!!
The best pizza I've ever had! The crust was doughy and a little crunchy at the same time. I got the pepperoni sausage it was honestly so delicious I highly recommend trying this place out. The server was attentive and kept checking on us. The place was lively can get a little crowded but that's ok because the food is delicious.
Cozy restaurant with good service. Did not have to wait long and everyone is super friendly. The restaurant is not big but the food is very good. The calamari is tender and flavorful. We got the extra Marinara Sauce and it's great. The normal spicy mayo sauce is very good too but I loved the variety. The pizza is pretty big and is very tasty. However I like my crust a little bit more crispy so next time I'll ask them to cook it slightly longer. The toppings are generous and overall very good value for what you get. I highly recommend this place. Parking is available along the street and in the parking lot behind the restaurant. May have limited parking during the weekend so go early.
We ordered the Philly's pizza and it took about 25 minutes to get to the table which was not too much of a surprise considering how busy the place was. Susie was our server and was very lovely throughout the evening! However, the quality overall of the pizza tasted okay at best. The slices were burned, so at most I can give a 3/5...Susie was very kind and offered to make us another pizza to-go, so that is definitely to note! But we were so hungry that we ate it anyway lol and we did not want to wait any longer. The presentation was also a 2/5 at most. Unfortunately, I would not stop by again.
Stopped in for dinner, we ordered a small vampire pizza and it was delicious! With big dollops of cheese on every slice. We opted for the small which was still very filling for two people! The crust, cheese and sauce were all fantastic and I would highly recommend this place! Good service too!

As someone who knows what actual New Haven pizza should be (think Sally's Apizza), Apizza Doho misses the mark completely. The dough was nothing like the authentic thin-crust style; instead, it was thick, burnt, and strangely covered in butter. The Margherita sauce was essentially tomato sauce and lacked balance. The Clam Pizza was the biggest disappointment--it was buried under so much cheese and garlic that you couldn't even taste the clams. It was so greasy that oil was running down our hands, tasting more like a heavy, cheesy garlic bread with overpowering chunks of raw garlic than a refined white clam pie. To round it out, the zucchini chips were flavorless and mostly just fried breading. The only silver lining was the calamari, the cherry peppers were a nice touch and it genuinely reminded me of Rhode Island-style calamari. That said, I definitely won't be back for the pizza and do not recommend this place if you're looking for New Haven style pizza read more
First of all, the prices and lines seem to coalesce. When there is a line, it is because of great value and that is the intersection of the ultimate dinner venue. I don't mind spending for a good dinner and I prefer to find a place like this where the food is amazing, the service is prompt and the value is beyond. At a time like this, when times are uncertain, you want to go to a place where you feel happy because the location is amazing, ambiance is great (acoustics were good) and the value is best! Diana was a pro! Come here and keep coming. Restaurants like this deserve to be great because they encompass what is great, great food, location and good memories. read more
This has gotta be one of the best pizza spots I've tried. It's located on PCH, so thankfully there's a large parking lot on top of the restaurant. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. We did the lunch box deal which was an 11" apizza with a choice of simple or caesar salad. The caesar was great and it's a big portion that could be a meal itself. Tried the arancini too which was good, but the standouts were obviously the pizzas. We tried the vampire and bee sting pizzas, with the bee sting being my favorite. It has a perfect hint of sweetness to it with the hot honey. This is high on my list of where I should bring friends/family to in OC! read more

First time here but heard about people raving about this place. We've driven by several times and the place looks always packed. We finally had the chance to try the place. We did a build our own pizza. Half another flavor and half another. It looked really good! However, I think maybe my expectation was high, it didn't taste anything special to me. And it gets pricey when you do the build your own. Each ingredient you add is about $3 or $4 and it adds up pretty quick. Ambiance is really casual and it looks like there are a lot of regulars. For the price we ended up paying, I know I much better tasting pizza place in the same city where we he ambiance is more elevated, but still casual. But then, there are other food we saw them whipping up in the kitchen. Willing to go back and try other items in the menu. read more

Food - mostly pizza although they had other Italian dishes. We tried their pizza and the base was good, but once you start adding each topping, it can get up there at $3 each, even for hot honey. After putting 3 toppings, I felt it was on par with the Pizza place nearby with the better foccacia pizza dough. Not to compare, this is a Neapolitan style. They have other food stuff and salads that looked yummy. And don't get me wrong, this is something I may have to try again next time to order other food items. Service - was good. Ambiance - other than where we sat with the high table and the condensation from the AC tubes above that leaked a small amount of drip at a time, it was good and busy. Indoor and outdoor seating with patio heaters for those cold nights. Verdict - I am perplexed I think because of the comparison. By itself, it was good, but when you compare with nearby foccacia champ on price, quality, and taste, just no comparison. I think you know who I could be referring to in Dana Point, upstream. But by itself, definitely ok and can try again maybe. read more

The vibe is energetic and casual right off of Coast Highway and Dana Point. Incredible salads we enjoyed the very unique Caesar salad and then ordered the Buratta Pizza! This is it traditional cheese, pizza cooked to be finish and then Barada cheese smeared on top of it. It's melting gooey fantastic goodness! The pizza was really good but I just wish they had better veggie pizza options. The crust is fermented for 24 hours so it's much easier to digest and it was such a light and airy crust. Outdoor seating is nice but it was easy to get a table on a Sunday night despite them being super busy. read more

The garden party pizza is amazing and the docent beer is delicious. The service is great. This place is awesome! If you come on a Saturday night there might be a wait... but it's worth the wait! They should do a better job of separating / filling tables. We were only 2 people and they put us at a table for 4 that could have easily been split apart, I felt bad for the couples waiting in line outside that could have easily been seated at the empty table/chairs next to us. (Business owner / manager - get on it. There were so many tables like ours, a 4 top w/ only 2 people at it, and others waiting in line outside). read more

This is such an affordable place! My friends and I went to visit this place for our celebration for end of the school year. All the pizzas were extremely fresh and came out extremely fast. The area is a bit small but the staff is insanely sweet. We were always being helped out and evehrbting they have is fresh. We got the mushroom and the garden party pizza and I recommend both of them. We asked for sauces I think it was ranch and even that tasted house made and fresh. Everything was delicious!! read more

This is a busy spot that's always hustling and bustling so you know the pizzas solid here. Found this spot on Yelp when my partner and I were craving some pizza. We ordered takeout at least an hour ahead of pickup, I'd recommend calling in earlier when it's prime dinner time on weekends because the wait can get long. Hwy 1 pizza: Ingredients were so fresh, and the pizza was heavily covered with all the fixings. The dough was perfectly chewy, and we loved the crust! Simple salad: we ordered this to go, and sadly it did not look very fresh. Leaves were very wilted and yellow, the spring mix did not taste fresh at all. Not sure why they would serve salad leaves that tasted stale and old for a salad. We ended up just tossing it. Overall, I'd just stick to the pizza here read more

Came here for a lunch on the weekend, wasn't too crowded. The lunch special is a great deal because it comes with a Cesar salad. Love the thin crust pizzas. Cesar salad- nice flavors, a little on the saltier side Pepperoni pizza- kids enjoyed the classic pizza Littleneck pizza with white sauce- I like how the clams were cut up small with lots of garlic, also on the saltier side Service was friendly and good! The pizzas take awhile to bake, wasn't too crowded so I imagine if it's crowded will prob take longer. Nice family friendly restaurant. read more
New Haven Connecticut pizza in Dana Point? Who knew that would ever happen. My favorite pizza in all of OC. It's all about the crust and Apizza Doho's is thin and crispy. Get the Coast Highway. Came here for the first time after a beach trip and loved it! There is a small parking structure, but takes some time to find parking. The place is pretty busy around 7, but the wait goes by quickly. Lots of seating and they have warmers for the tables outside.. Our server was very nice and friendly, she answered all of our questions. The food was amazing! We got two pizzas and we were able to share and have leftovers amongst 4 people. The Hwy 1 was very savory, meaty and overall delicious. The Stingray had a pretty good kick to it, and the spice paired nicely with the honey on top. Loved this place and will definitely be stopping by again! read more

Service is great. Everyone is friendly and helpful. Ordered a bottle of the red blend and it complimented our pizzas very well. Ordered the Bee Sting....so good! The hot honey is actually spicy, so FYI. We also got the Vampire amd added mushrooms. Was not too garlicky at all. The crust is kinda their "thing" and it does not disappoint. If you like a thin crust, you get it...and if you like a thicker crust, you get the chewy too. Best of both worlds. Try it out. The vibe is super chill. Great date spot. read more

We started off with an order of Zuccinihi chips because we always like to eat Zuccinihi fries. The chips were good, mostly fried rather than Zucchini. We ordered two pizzas. One thing to note, at least for dinner options, there are no different pizza sizes, they are all the same size. We ordered the HWY 1 and our waiter, recommended the Bee Sting, a waitstaff favorite. The HWY 1, was extremely tasty the caramelized onions pairing well with the pepperoni and sausage. The Bee Sting was the family favorite, the Burrata and hot honey stealing the show. The waitstaff was friendly with all of the waiters and waitresses thanking us for coming and wishing us a good night. Parking was a little hectic but that is out of Apizzas control. The overall restaurant was clean, and openly inviting. Would definitely make a return trip. read more

You can't go wrong with pizza, especially not this place! This is a pretty affordable pizza restaurant if you're looking for pizza that is fresh, packed with toppings, and oh-so-yummy! Went on a Saturday afternoon around 2pm and there was no wait to get seated. We ordered the Hwy1 pizza (not as a lunch box special), and it is - if I remember correctly - a 15inch pizza cut into 8 slices and satisfied my family of 4. The pizza was super flavorful, not too heavy on the sauce, and almost resembled thin crust. I was also able to try their tiramisu cup! Although I thought this was a bit pricey for what it was, it was still delicious and was a perfect sweet treat to end the meal! read more

Description: A standout pizza spot in Dana Point (a city which seems to have a TON of pizza options). Easily my top pick in town, even eclipsing Truly Pizza in flavor and execution. Location: Nestled along the Pacific Coast Highway and part of a retail row of other food spots. Standout Dishes: The HWY 1 pizza seems to be a crowd favorite, but honestly even just the basic peppeonin really shines as well. Vibe: Relaxed. It's a beach pizza joint, what more do you need? Service: Super friendly. We even had a slightly mishap with our pizza and the floor and immediately we were told not to worry and a whole new pie was prepared for us (which they didn't have to do, but it was well appreciated!). Food Quality: Exceptional -- thin, airy crust (that isn't soggy or floppy, a plus in my book) with delicious sauce and toppings. Value: Not too cheap, not too pricey, but considering the tastiness, worth it. Parking: When the plaza is busy, parking can get a little annoying. But there's a lot in the back as well as street parking along PCH Tips: Hit up this place on a Monday to take advantage of 50% off select pizzas and wine/beer. read more

So we came here on a Saturday night with a larger group I think around 8 and the employees did such a good job to try and seat us, especially because I think it was close to closing? It was a little bit of a trek for us to get out here but omg it was sooo worth it!y friend and I shared a pizza and we did half stingray and half of hwy 1 I think? First off, I've never been to an establishment where every single person there was very nice and welcoming! Plus, very easy to find and ample parking. Now the food...phenomenal! We ordered Fritto Misto, Tutta La Casa salad, Mia Mushroom pizza along with the Stingray and Hwy 1. Starting with the Fritto, it was crispy and well seasoned, didn't even need to use the sauce. It was delicious as is. Not generally a fan of salads, however, the Tutta La Casa was quite refreshing. It had so many toppings so you get different flavors in one, very tasty! The Mia Mushroom was also good as is, but we added prosciutto anyway. I don't normally eat the crust of pizzas, but the crusts made here were nice and crispy! Unfortunately I didn't get to try the two other pizzas because I was stuffed. In my opinion, every single food item was perfectly seasoned. Dessert was also amazing and homemade! Overall, atmosphere was great, very clean, wonderful employees, would definitely be back! read more

Some of the best pizzas I've ever had!! Highly recommend the hummus appetizer - so fresh and flavorful. We also did half/half HWY 1 & Bee Sting and The Philly. All are sooo delicious! Service is fast and friendly from everyone; you can see how hands on the management is - such great energy. Plenty of indoor/outdoor seating. Will definitely return! read more

APizza Doho is a cool spot in Dana Point that offers an array of unique pizzas. I was excited to try this place out, after driving by several times. They have a nice-sized restaurant, with TVs to watch various games. They also have a relatively small outdoor patio with heaters for those cooler nights. We started with the simple salad and it wasn't completely simple...it was really good! It had this really delicious spicy ranch, and fresh ground pepper too. I highly recommend it. There are sooo many pizza options, it was really hard to choose from. We went with the Sting Ray...I personally loved the grilled onions, and it also had jalapeños, pepperoni, cheese, and a citrus honey drizzle. It was bursting with flavor. For me personally, I do like the dough a bit thicker, but that is just a personal preference. I also would have loved some fresh Parmesan. But, overall, I'd give this pizza a 9/10 and I'm looking forward to coming back and trying some of there other options too! read more

Gino, thank you for inquiring. Yes, I would say it is definitely on the thin side, with purposeful charring around the crust. New Haven style is our "North Star" which is their version of Neapolitan in Connecticut.

We do have a white clam pie on the menu, its called "Littleneck".

Hi Rich, unfortunately we do not sell slices, but at lunch we do an 11'' inch pie ( equivalent to two good size slices ) paired with a Caesar or Simple Salad, as our "Lunch Box" special.

No, currently we do not serve either.

What times and days are least busy? If I bring my family of 5 to eat in?
I would say lunch time or until 5. they usually get a big dinner crowd :)
