We were told we could order the pizzas half and half, so long as they come with the same sauce! So, we got two pizzas with a total of 4 flavors! Trust us, we did the math! Here they are! The "Original," which is a standard cheese pizza. Very classic, and it was just a good slice! Next to that was the Southwest Swell, which came with some spicy sausage and pineapple! It truly was California perfection with the beautiful coastal breeze flowing through the store, the fresh homemade pizza being made counter side, and the exceptionally friendly customer service. My entire family loved our visit here. We tried the zucchini chips (a table favorite), the Mia mushroom, and the littleneck and all were absolute winners. It was a nice relaxed clean location and service was great! Everyone is friendly and attentive. The food are all reasonably priced so its great for sharing. The reason why I gave it only 3 stars is because I had to knock off 2 stars for how salty everything was. The food was also exceptionally oily. Now don't get me wrong, i do enjoy foods that are fried but eating this pizza resulted in oil dripping fown my hand and wrist. It was a lot. I like trying things that are unique like their zucchini chips. It is so thinly sliced that you Def get a slight crisp texture with it but it also reminds me of a buttery cracker. The first few bites were good but it was hard to get through, and this was splitting it with one other person. It would be better if was cooked a bit less, so that it still remains yellow instead of turning brown. Maybe it would be good paired with like a lemon garlic aioli sauce. We got the vampire pizza and def had a strong garlic flavor, which i loved. I don't think it needed so much ricotta cheese. It's not bad while the pizza was hot out of the oven but as it cooled down, it wasn't the most fun texture duo to experience. It definitely needed a bit more basil with each bite. Wish they could give some on the side but I didn't ask, so maybe that would be my recommendation. This also was too salty and that might be the cheese choices. Don't know if they can choose different cheeses to help reduce the salty flavor. Overall, not a place I'd come again simply because it was way too salty and oily for my taste. Absolutely amazing -the best pizza we have had. I did not believe the 5 star reviews. Why 5 stars? I'll tell you why- It was fresh, on tender & tasty crust. It doesn't matter what kind of pizza, although we had "Mia" mushroom & arugula. We sat inside & watched the kitchen staff. Wow, they are on top of their game. Next reason is service. Olivia was friendly, upbeat and real. Real hospitality. Our calamari appetizer came late. She recognized ( we asked but did not complain) we needed it before the pizza and said "we took care of this". Wow that's awesome service. Really yummy NY style pizza spot in South OC. There's an open parking lot and was easily seated during an early Friday night. The arancini is to die for. Lots of different options or pizza sauces. We had the sting ray and ended up adding ricotta to it. Pizza had the perfect amount of crisp and no thick crusts. Service was great. You can order wine by the glass or bottle. Having been to Sally's in New Haven as soon as I saw the name Apizza I checked out their menu and sure enough they are one of the few places that makes a genuine New Haven Style Pie with WHite Sauce with Garlic and Little Neck Clams. My wife loved itt oo the curst was perfection and the SImple Salad was amazing. We will be back for sure. Service was attentive and quick and ambiance was fantastic. Stopped by after working out at F45 next door! Thursday evening around 6 PM for a party of 2 was no wait. The service was phenomenal and everyone was super friendly! Wow that burnt crispy exterior in the crust is amazing. Our waiter was awesome too. She basically made us feel like we were eating with her family. She recommended the pizzas for us so we could have a few options. Good choice. Don't ever get one. Always at least get 2 when it comes to pizza! Really good wine options too. We tried the Hwy 1 (their take on a classic combo pizza) and the Mia mushroom (we added prosciutto for $4, which I highly recommend doing). Both pizzas were absolutely delicious. Before stuffing your face, try the well-balanced harvest salad, complete with crumbled Gorgonzola and chopped dates. Excellent pizza, but the flies ruined the dining experience for us. A fly kept landing on my grandma and mom, which didn't let them enjoy their pizza, or flying near the food so everyone at the table had to keep swatting the bug away. That being said, I appreciated the ingredient quality used for the pizza toppings. Everything tasted fresh and well prepared. My only improvement would be to make the bottom crust more crisp; only the crust at the end of the pizza slight was a bit crispy. I'd recommend the HWY 1 pizza for anyone who visits here! read more

This place is closer to 4.5 stars but rounding down. Good service except when I ordered their most popular pizza the Hwy 1 which had pepperoni sausage mushrooms peppers and carmelized onions. I asked that they hold the peppers and onions (two toppings) and throw in a little more sausage and they said sausage cost more so I had to pay extra. I said never mind. Didn't like the lack of flexibility but that was about it. The Caesar salad was good and different. Crushed croutons instead of typical ones which was good. Cuz we love a restaurant with no wait Our server asked if it was our first time and told us that their pizza is New Haven (Connecticut) Style Pizza. I was so excited as I've heard about this style of pizza but never had it. The server told us New Haven pizza is popular for thin, crispy crust that is charred. Yum! The server also told us they only serve large pizzas, but could split the pizza into two flavors as long as the base sauce was the same. My husband and I ended up getting a Caesar salad and a split pizza of Hwy 1 (tomato sauce, fennel sausage, pepperoni, garlic, mushrooms, mozzarella, caramelized onions, peppers, pecorino romano) and Stingray (pepperoni, sweet onions, roasted jalapeños, mozzarella, grana padano, citrus honey). The pizza was delicious! Loved the crispy, charred crust. It's best to eat fast so that the crust is extra crispy. The longer the pizza sits it does lose its crunch a bit. I loved both pizzas and they were both different! Hwy 1 was heavier, meatier, and saltier. Stingray was lighter, sweet, and spicy. Both yummy! And I loved the crushed red pepper powder available on the table. The Caesar salad was also tasty! The breadcrumbs gave it wonderful texture. This salad surprised me as it wasn't a creamy dressing like most Caesar salads. It was thinner and more acidic! I enjoyed it. Overall, terrific pizza! Was very mistreated by the waitress. My dad was with me and he's elderly - he asked her what kind of beer they had and she replies with "check the menu" - he asked again and she smirked in a condescending but very annoying way and said "I said it's on the menu" and walked away. My dad is elderly and couldn't read the menu - is it so much to just recite the few beers you have on your menu? I was so upset and disappointed. read more

Really good pizza, and how rare to find a New Haven style in Southern California. The crust was amazing with the perfect char. The pie had a beautiful presentation. Pricing for the size seemed fair. Pizza was filling. And I absolutely love cheese, but I think it should be just a little lighter on the cheese since it felt like a bit too much which made it heavier than the pizza needed to be. That would also prevent the flop making for a stronger structure. That would likely help with the flop too. 10yr didn't finish the kids size pizza which means we had left overs. When it's rained at some point during the day they don't do outside seating which means a longer than normal wait time. Def recommend checking it out though! read more

Truly hidden gem. I'm a charcuterie snob. Have to get it if it's on the menu. This one looked great. It didn't disappoint! Chef's board: First, the "pita" bread is actually just triangles pizza dough, which is amazing. Cheeses: it came with a couple small triangles of medium soft cheese, actually couldn't tell exactly what kind (maybe manchego) but very good. The star was a bowl of burrata and olive oil with some basil. Fresh and amazing. Meats: my two favs.... Prosciutto and pepperoni. The difference is the meats are not only super fresh, but sliced so paper thin that they practically melt in your mouth. A dollop of burrata on the dough with some prosciutto is a heavenly bite! It came with honeycomb, figs, olives, and almonds! I even got to try their marinara which was outstanding. I can't wait to try the pizza next visit... I know it will be phenomenal!!! Amazing pizza and such a cute vibe! We have been wanting to try apizza Doho forever and finally went in on a Monday. To our surprise, they have half of bottles of wine, pitchers and a few pizza specials. The waitress was super sweet and gave us great recommendations. We tried the highway 1 and the margarita. They are pretty large at 15 inches so plenty to take home and enjoy the next day. They were super good, great flavor and delicious crust. With the hype for sure! Caesar salad had crumbs fine crumbs not croutons I didn't like it and no typical Caesar dressing it was more like a buttermilk recipe. Zucchini chips another original but again sort of too salty.
