I see so many bad reviews here but recently I had a good experience with their customer service(online one). They were very responsive and listened to what complaint I had and also let me exchange that product at store on my next visit. People are writing that they keep old and expired snacks and I have seen that too since I am a regular customer there. It will be great if they be more vigilant about not keeping expired stuff. One good thing is that their variety of stuff has increased , so we get almost everything related to Indian groceries and the store staff is helpful as well but yes they are short staffed sometimes at counters. I think overall it's a good experience for me shopping there if not excellent. read more

I would love to support this small business as the store itself is generally a good experience: this review is more about online orders. The last two times I've ordered online (there's been around 6 months plus since my last order) the delivery has reached past 10pm. Their delivery times are 6-10pm. They don't call beforehand to confirm what time delivery is coming or if it's coming at all. This is not on the delivery drivers, more the managers of the store. Both times I've contacted them about a delivery not showing up on time or this time around.. at all? It showed up the next day without any update. I had zero idea it was arriving tonight. I would recommend working on customer service, at-least more communication. Very disappointing. read more

Unfortunately, the produce quality has gone down considerably and recently we had a horrible experience with our order. Purchased some groceries, and found out after couple of days that they had billed me for one item worth $8 that wasn't there in the bag. Called them, and spoke to a woman who said she'd have the manager call me back. After couple of hours waiting, called again and got hold of the manager, who after putting me on hold for a while, insisted that I'd forgotten the item somewhere (where between the store and the trunk of my car he couldn't say). Unable to dissuade me, he then began speaking in a tone as if he was doing me a huge favor by paying off my student loans. Exasperated for having put in more time than warranted, I asked him in no uncertain terms to simply issue the refund and STFU, at which point he started cussing. I hung up, called my credit card company and got the refund in less than two minutes. Let's take stocks: Store tried to scam me, got caught, manager refused to accept responsibility, I got the refund anyway. They lost many potential customers who pay attention to Yelp. the cashier cheats all the time ( it happens 3 times in a row). Please check your receipts. I bought three pack of Buckwheat and was charged for 4. The product was so bad - smelled moldy and grans were half empty and super black. Went to return them - she took the packages and instead of refund, I was charged instead . Came back to clear the mistake - got return only for the last charged. Had to argue to get the full refund... OH, do not go there - the product is bad, the stuff is over charging and cheating. PLEASE AVOID THIS STORE - Employees have anger management issues as per below. I was the second person the employee was shouting at. I have been shopping here over 14 years. Today they not only lost a loyal customer but also gained someone who will do everything in my power to advocate against them. back story detail - Last week I got a bunch of groceries and some snacks. Two of the snacks were stale (Grand snacks costing $10 each). I couldn't find this in any stores so i got a few. Today i went to return it and the big guy(indian guy) at the cashier was being super rude to a lady before me, she said that he is very rude and walked away. I had approached him and said the snacks are stale. He said he needed a receipt, I tried to have my wife find it but she could not. I told him I could not but the snacks are right in front of him in the rack. He then proceeded to tell me that I could have got it in a different store and return it to this store to which I said that is simply a bad reply and he proceeded to tell me 'bad customers get bad reply' , I asked him what did you say? and he said you can leave. I asked him again what he said. I told him he can have the snacks and eat them if he wants and they should stop selling stale snacks. He grabbed them threw it on the floor and started charging at me, I had to back off and ask him to stop and not to touch me and that he also dint have his mask on. At which point I walked away as he just charged at me. I tried calling every store and their store in an attempt to reach someone to tell them but nobody knows anything in any store. The owners apparently do not talk to customers. My sincere advise please avoid this store. There are many alternatives in the area and has much better service. This review is specific to online deliveries. I would recommend against placing delivery orders. I explicitly marked some items to not be replaced if they are unavailable. This was disregarded and the replacements I got were 2-3x unit price compared to what I had ordered. When I contacted them about it, they did the bare minimum to help effectively saying that I should place another order and return anything I didn't want to the delivery person. read more

Nanak cheese sold by them has almost double price to that of costco price. Parle buscuits small packet sold by them with 89 cents, walmart sell 6 such packets for 99 cents. In addition to that, Parle buscuit sold by walmart has better quality also. 3. Be careful, many times I found expired product on shelf. 4. Price of product might be different at checkout than whats mentioned on shelf. Many of us ignore it but I found it when I purchase only one item. This store does offer variety of Indian products right from veggies to frozen Roti's/naans and any seasonal specials. Includes masala varieties from MTR to Aachi brands,some maharashtrain brands too. However the important point to note is most of these masala packets are expired ones! I experienced this twice with these folks. They are selling expired or close to expiry(1 month left etc) products. Worse still most condiments sold here don't carry a mfg date and hence no expiry labels. So be sure to check your stuff before putting them on your cart. Has some Indian medicines and cosmetic creams too. Indian snacks and sweets are also found albeit varieties are not too many. read more

They will reduce the quantity but price will remain same. 3. Many iteam missed but bag but it will show delivered online. 4. I bought a whole box of pooja itra, and when I opened it, it was all full of just regular alcohol and stunk--it seemed like it was tampered with. I took it back and was referred to Jai(who was obviously the manager). I have never in my life recived worse service than this. He kept muttering it was against store policy to refund pooja items. He did not even take the time to see the items returned or get out of his office. He just sat there and paid no attention to anything I said. The cashiers were terrified of him and begged me not to go to him. I will report this incident to the Better Business Bureau. Do not go to this store. I also got expired items, and when I complained, I was told it's okay since it's within a year of the expiration date, and again, no refunds or apologies! Mayuri has a new store now right across from them. Go there! I know this store will not be in business for too long with this attitude and service! read more

We bought a full box of Alphonso Mangoes and almost half of it was rotten. we took the our box to the shop just as FYI that he can check for quality of mangoes in future (it wasn't cheap as $37 for 11 mangoes) but the store manager attitude was frustrating. Despite seeing the rotten box, he was like "All other customers have great reviews of these mangoes". I cannot believe that all mangoes were selectively bad in just the box I picked. Had a horrible delivery experience. The driver wasn't wearing mask or gloves, didn't reach the destined location, made me wait when I went to the location where the driver claimed to be - he went off for a different delivery while keeping me waiting. The bag in which stuff was delivered had its handle torn off so it was a pain to carry the stuff too. 40% of my order was missing. I could have imagined a couple of items not being updated in the website but 40% is not acceptable by any standard. Never ordering from Apna Bazar again. read more

I frequent this grocery store about once every 10 days to pick up on my fix of mango lassi and parathas.....They have a pretty big selection of parathas in the freezer section.....I kinda wish they had some sweet options like pandan paratha like I've found at other grocery stores nearby......but the thing that takes the cake with this shop is the 5 dollar half gallon mango lassi........usually mango lassi goes for five bucks in a 16oz cup at a sit down restaurant....so this is a steal in my books lol.....very friendly staff members as well. read more

Purchased the groceries today. Most of the times the items are not available. The online catalog is not updated. But the biggest problem was - The delivery driver. He didn't deliver the groceries at home or building. Instead he wanted me to come get them from street. He just refused to drive through and come to my building. The driver was not wearing masks or gloves. The store manager whom I spoke to about this incident was unapologetic as well. They lost 10+ years loyal customer today. I love these group of people. Really Friendly, Neighborhood store for Indian groceries. I visited this store last week and headed for billing. realized that I forgot my wallet and phone at home. Given that situation the cashier named Vikram came forward and helped me with settling the bill by taking my Information for further contact and accepted for repaying him when I visit next time. I was so fortunate to see such a kind person who doesn't even know me till that moment, but he was being helpful in a timely manner. It reminded me a quote. "Sign of life is not whether you are breathing, but whether you are helping others." And I see the real value of this quote on him today. WORST Quality Products-Apna Bazar sell waste and expired products. We got garlic, coconut, cilantro and capsicum here. Coconut water has some PUNGENT acidic flavor and rotten. Maggi packets are EXPIRED here. Garlic is ROTTEN here. I am gonna ask my MONEY BACK here. This PUNGENT odor coconut water caused stomach problems because i had just one sip. read more

This is a fairly large, and well laid out Indian grocery store for the area. The vegetables are fresh, and the staff is very helpful if you need something and don't see it. They went to the back and found me some very fresh curry leaves. I appreciate that they made the extra effort. I also love that they have a white board where you can write down items that you wish they carried. It's worth it to me to drive here from Redmond. I think it must have improve a lot over the past few years. read more

I prefer this store for Indian grocery shopping compared to the rest in the same area. It felt the most clean and brightest of the lot. However, The aisles are very narrow and traversing through them with your cart might be a challenge. They have good variety of Indian veggies like tindora, gavar , fresh methi etc. Wide range of masalas and pickles. Multiple kinds of yogurts along with dosa batters as well. They offer 10% discount over $100. I have found it to be the most crowded on Saturday evenings and most stocked around the same time. read more

Overall: A decent selection of Asian specialty items as well as other worldly goods I've been putting off visiting Apna Bazar for quite a while. Why? Because I was afraid of being disappointed, and sadly I was. It's not bad, but it doesn't compare to the Asian stores that I've frequently visited within the UK. The good thing about this place is that they have Patak's curry pastes (although not the ones I wanted), Alphonso mango puree/pulp, and a small selection of Indian sweets (from Punjab sweets, Kent). The store has a decent selection of Indian groceries, cooking equipment, spices, flours, packet mixes, sauces, confections, curry pastes, pastries, frozen/chilled items as well as fresh produce, dvds/videos and an odd aisle with items such as olive oil, olives and vine leaves etc. No matter how hard I tried to like this store, it just didn't do it for me. Extremely Unhappy with customer service. I bought excess Henna cones for my wedding, and came back to return a few cones that were unused. I was told that it is a puja item, and cannot be returned. One cashier agreed to exchange it for other goods, and when I did my shopping and brought my exchanges, another cashier argues with me that it is, in spite of the customer (me) saying it has multiple uses and having the original receipt , he refused to perform the exchange . There was no mention in the receipt or during purchase that it cannot be returned. This place is messed up. Different cashiers have different policies. DO NOT SHOP HERE. Sorry to say, but after this experience you have lost my family as customers, and I will not be recommending anyone to shop here. After a woman from India told me this is a great grocery store, I had to check it out. It was crowded on the Saturday night I went, which is a good sign. They have everything I needed from Royal Rice (yum) to spices and candied fennel. The woman mentioned that there's a great restaurant next door. Would think twice before shopping here. The store carries "Devi" branded organic items which is just labelled as organic . This labeling comes from a non-complaint non certified agency in India which does not meet the USDA organic standards. Store carried many varieties of such organic products whose Organic certification seems suspicious. Buyer beware . read more
