Online Delivery is horrible. Stay away from it or be ready to make multiple calls to the sore as their status updates are totally useless. Placed an order Yesterday(10/08) and it was supposed to be delivered between 8 to 10 pm. Just to reconfirm I called them around 9:40 if they are delivering. One lady picked up and said the drive had car issues so order will be delivered tomorrow before 12. Next day I noticed that the email receipt shows order status as "Completed". So I called again around 11:00 am (10/09) but no one picked. I wrote a mail and I was told around 12:08 pm that the Order is out for delivery. After waiting for almost 1 hr, I called again...they won't pick up the call, so I kept calling...someone picked and confirmed that the order is still sitting in the store. I told him either cancel the order or deliver it in next 1 hr. After that I received the order. I'm definitely never going to order from here ever again. Irrespective of how many times you tell them to stop sending over spoiled fruit they continue doing the same. The person that I talked to over the phone literally replied with an "ok" in a non caring voice when I nicely requested to ensure that the fruit that they sent over was not spoiled. First time visit to this store, first impression is well organized and labeled. Items has clear pricing and sections. But less space . Always you have to leave car out side lane or two cart can't go at same time. Problem is some of well know brand and organics brands not there . And not that many items varieties. read more

TL;DR - Inspect the items in Apna Bazar very carefully for expiry and staleness before purchasing and retain the receipt. Many people have had experiences where they bought the stuff which later turned to be rotten or expired. A lot of items don't even carry the best before/sell by date. Try India Super market instead which is very close to this place. Below is my very recent experience with this place after which I am going to stay clear from this place and would advise same to others. I had bought a packet of yellow lentils (Toor Daal, Brand: SriRam or something similar) from Apna Bazar a week ago and I didn't retain the purchase receipt. On one of the weekday last week, I opened the package and transferred the lentils into a container, only to see that it was infested with bugs. To avoid any infestation at home, I immediately dumped the content into the trash for disposal. Luckily there were a few lentils and bugs remaining in the original packaging so I sealed it with the tape to show it at the store and return it. Since I didn't have the receipt, I was not very sure if they would exchange it and I was not planning on insisting for refund anyway but thought of giving it a try in case they can also lookup product by barcode. I explained the problem to the manager and gave him the sealed packaging. Upon seeing the packaging, it seemed as if it flipped or offended him in some way. He inquired about the receipt to which I told I don't have one. Then he asked in a rude way where is the rest of the lentils? I was surprised a bit but answered that I had to throw away the rest of it. His next question was not something I was prepared for. He asked aggressively - "What would you do if you were the owner?. We sell thousands of products...". I was taken aback at this mockery of customer service and couldn't really comprehend an answer so just repeated that I had to throw the lentils away. And he repeated the same question again. At that point it started to feel like a scene so I told him that you can keep the package and don't have to give a refund and I left. Not really sure why was he insisting on rest of the lentils, unless he thought I have already consumed it and was trying to cheat him of $3 or he wanted to resell that. Regardless, it was a very unpleasant experience overall. I would have happily accepted the denial of the refund, had it been in a polite way but his behavior was completely unprofessional and rude. read more

Utter chaos. This could be the worst place to shop. Everytime we come to shop, the aisles are crowded as such but on top of that the workers are also unpacking new stock and filling the display shelves. There is also someone constantly mopping the floor creating more dust making us to sneeze. BUYERS BEWARE ON CHECKOUT LINE I'm a regular at apna bazaar. This happened to me recently. I purchased long list of items and did a normal checkout. After I reached home my wife told that I forgot to buy some stuff while arranging. I said I did buy it and showed her the receipts. She said that around 4 items were not present in any bag. So I went back to apna bazaar and told this. The last at counter said they don't have any forgotten bag. As I was going back i saw a polythene bag with my content lying near the leg of the checkout lady. I didn't pursue abd came back. I'm sure they are removing bags if you are not attentive at the checkout. I'm no longer going to go to apna bazaar... Hope owner takes action hence I posted this review. read more

Worst ever customer service. And they cheat between prices on display and actual price when you bill it. For example, the organic batter had a display price of $4.99, but when I billed it was 9.99. Above all, today they billed $34 for a small pack of peeled garlic, when I asked for a refund, I had to spend around 25minutes in the billing counter, and they wouldn't have the customer service mindset for giving a $2.89 garlic stuff as a compensation for billing wrong $$ and making me wait 25minutes. Be ready to play "The price is right". They don't have prices listed on most of the items in the store. Isn't that illegal in the state of Washington? Basically you have no idea what you are paying for your items when they are on the shelf. Plenty of times I assumed the prices based on previous purchases at the store and then saw higher prices at the cash register. This is bad business practice and must stop. We and many of our friends have voted with our wallets and have stopped shopping at Apna Bazaar because of this deceptive practice. read more

Honestly, I have always thought this place was a little sketchy. It's a slightly chaotic Indian restaurant full of Indian food and trinkets. The weird thing is that inside the store, off to the side, is an exotic meat shop that is only open during the day. Nevertheless, I go here from time to time and pick up random pastries, sunflower oil, and will even rent a film from India despite the fact I don't speak any of the languages from the Indian subcontinent. I'm not hip enough to ride the Darjeeling Limited so don't knock my Thursday night Indian pastries, cheap beer, and chaotic Indian film fest. Made the trip out to Bellevue from Seattle to go to this gem. Found the Apna to be a nice, organized place with a great selection of food stuffs for good prices. Had an amazing bulk spice section that I spent a good fifteen minutes in. Can't find bulk spices at these prices anywhere in Seattle! Also spent a good chunk of time trying to decide on what roti to get, very good roti/naan selection. Staff was friendly and helpful. read more

When I asked them to change it, the help insisted that it's just the skin and didn't bother to change. They have a good selection of frozen snacks, great to take care of that craving without spending a lot of money, and there is always something new to try. I have never had a negative customer experience, they have always been friendly and ready to answer any questions i have. Serves the purpose - Indian store has the main things needed to make a decent indian home cooked meal and some well stocked frozen food items as well. you can find some utensils etc but i prefer getting coriander/mint/curry leaves and a few vegetables like okra, raddish, tindoor & taro root...n some frozen veggis like drum stick for sambhar. the chat served there is OK otherwise you can find alot of masals which is pretty good. wish they had stuff like natural powders - facial kits, and a variety of south indian snacks n sweets.! read more

After going through the manufacture, expiry date from the aashirvaad wheat flour from another indian store in bellevue I landed up at Apna Bazaar in a hope of finding a date certified packet here i was shocked to see that they had covered the line where it mentions "best before 3 months from the date of manufacture" with their own label and printing up MFD date as July 2017 and EXP date as Jun 2018. Its disgusting to see how customers are cheated at such stores. read more

Almost all Indian Cooking Stuff is available in this store, so this place is always my savior. Most of the stuff in this store is fairly priced. Vegetables and Fruits are fresh and good in quantity, though sometimes the scenario is vice versa. Sometimes, you may find expired products here, so the key to this issue is before making any purchases, always make sure to check the labelled dates on it. The store is well organised and managed and thus it is easy to find the stuff as per the organised categories. Also, they have a suggestion board where you can let them know about the stuff which is not available in the store. Staff here is partially friendly and rude. Sometimes, I do see some discrepancies in billing receipts, for eg., sometimes I am charged for the stuff that I didn't even purchase. Recently, when I was again charged for the stuff I didn't purchase, I notified them with the receipt details and they happily refunded the amount. Overall, this store is convenient and customer friendly. So, the next time when you face any problem here, you can message the owner to get it resolved. read more

We have been here for a few years and I must say that this is just like any other Inidian Grocery store. There is always one store that dominates the market (Mayuri) and then all of a sudden another store comes up, starts gaining market share and then monopolizes the market. Apna is Bazaar nothing different. The vegetables come in fresh on Thursdays, those left over from last week are packaged into pre-sorted packets making you think its convenient, but they are not fresh. We recently got a pack of the frozen samosas and it did not have an expiry date to it. Consuming it gave my wife, kid and myself a violent round of food poisoning and when we immediately approached the store, we were declined a refund or store credit stating that they do not entertain returns for frozen items. Basically, my 2 cents would be never ever to buy frozen stuff from ANY indian store or items that do not have an expiry date or have signs of a tampered expiry date. Since there are so many Indians in the area, one such experience or complaint is bound to fall on deaf ears so this is just an FYI..... Happy shopping. ABC read more

Apna bazaar has grown from a scantily stocked store to an almost complete indian grocery store. They have a wide variety of instant foods, rice, roti flour, mixes and sauces which I should mention are consistent. I have always had a problem with the other Indian store down the street in that matter. A brand I find this week will more than likely not be available the next when it comes to the other Indian store. I wish they stocked more fresh spices and fresh sweets. The staff at Apna Bazaar are courteous and extremely helpful. Last but not least, the prices are definitely competitively prices, not always lower than the other Indian store but almost the same. read more
