I've been to quite a few Speakeasies and I enjoy the ambiance and exclusivity of such establishments. Unfortunately, yesterday evening left a lot to be desired for this new bar. This involved a group of us who had made a phone call to be added to the list. We were under the impression that it had been granted only to be met with hostesses whom did not show us on the list. That was completely understandable to me except, half of our group had been allowed to enter the bar. That seemed a bit odd, so we approached the hostess once more and she allowed us in, only to be met by one of the bartenders who poorly chose to berate us and make somewhat of an unnecessary and ludicrous scene, advising that we were not on the list and were not entitled to be there. Keep in mind there were plenty of open seats and tables available. Who in their right mind turns away potential promoters for a company like that? I must admit the décor and design was intriguing...I only wish we would've been given better treatment. We chose to leave after the manager spoke with us, advising that other reservations were on their way. We made it very clear we would only be there for one beverage; a nightcap to close out a great evening, until all that happened. I'm not a betting man however, if this is the type of customer service that will continue at this location, I don't foresee it being open longer than a couple months. In summation, teach your workers some manners and to show a bit of humility, especially when that's how they make additional money and increase potential notoriety amongst other similar speakeasies. Great space with great drinks. It would have been more stars, but I was very unhappy with the service. After finishing my first drink, I was looking forward to ordering one more. My husband and I waiting for 40 minutes with empty glasses. We decided it wasn't worth the wait, so when a bartender finally came over we just closed our tab. Simply put: do not go here. They made us stand outside for 15 minutes past our reservation for no discernible reason (no one exited and our seats were ready). They also said we couldn't talk to our friends who were also at the bar but that "maybe we could go over one at a time to say hi." What? We sat down and waited 30 minutes before we finally caught the bartenders attention for a drink. He was rude, dismissive and unhelpful. We have been to many, many upscale bars and speakeasies and have never experienced such a poor level of service. The interior was cheap and the drinks overpriced. We will never be back. read more

Bartenders were great - Joel took care of us and made some fantastic drinks. They have Classic cocktails or their "take" on them. Or, they will make you anything you want. Nope! Never this place again. First, they messed up on our reservations and seated us 30 minutes late, we heard the guy saying that he messed up. Same thing happened with another group of gals (they left after sitting around for 20 minutes and no one took their order.) Once we were seated it took about 15 minutes to get a waiter to take the order, and then we waited another 15 minutes to get our drinks. Granted it was a Saturday night, we are already running late and we were in a corner where no one could see us, they coils have at least tried to be more accommodating. Another thing was, when I asked about our charcuterie plate, the guy had corrected me on how to say it? We waited another 10 minutes and then when I asked him 10 minutes later for it, he said it was on its way. He was wrong, it never came. We eventually just paid and left, they didn't even split our bill like we had asked. This place is supposed to be hidden. It wasn't, it's right behind the podium of a reservations desk in a restaurant. That is not very secretive. To management- work on customer service with all the fellows that are working in the back. They're all a bunch of arrogant men that laugh at women, as I overheard their conversations about their female customers. read more

Went twice in the past year, once during the Holiday transition, and once during the regular menu....had a great time. Went again last night and was a bit disappointed. Our reservation for 4 was made nearly a month in advance. We were taken in on time, but were placed on the "rail" behind the bar. The hostess told us they would move us to either the counter or another seating area as soon as other guests left. She specifically said "the bartender would move us". Ordered our first round of drinks and waited....and waited. We were pretty much stuck where we were. We asked to be moved at 6:30, when a large party left one of the smaller rooms, and the server said we couldn't because they had another large party coming in at 7pm. Don't know why we couldn't occupy the space until they arrived....in fact, we were leaving about that time to go to the theater. We waited and ordered another round. Another couple came in after us, and were subjected to sitting at the rail. A party in front of them at the bar left, and they immediately moved up to the bar. Very irritating! The drinks were well made. However, service was not the best. The main bartender was somewhat rude. He had an assistant and was treating him pretty horribly in front of the customers. He was mean and passive aggressive. When I asked for a drink off the menu, he reacted as though I was stupid and as though that drink never existed. I asked for a tequila daisy. I guess it's not too common, but he was very rude. I felt uncomfortable. Besides that, this same bartender yelled at another customer saying, "It's busy, I'm the only bartender and will get to your drink soon..." I happened upon the Apparition Room the night it opened. I love Devilicious, and was aware of the new "room". I knew it to be a higher end experience, as any "secret" should be! Mo is excellent, and if your kind and patient, he takes excellent care of you. I have been back often. the food is excellent, and despite what some other reviews have indicated, there are no "hidden charges". I have sat and drank with Kenneth as well. Good concept very poorly executed. The staff's militant insistence on reservations only when the place had all of 8 patrons inside was totally off-putting. Couple that with the wanna be hipster man-bun sporting bartender / gestapo and a manager who was willing to let our party of 8 walk out the door and spend our money at a well known bar around the corner makes me think this place will last all of another month or so. I get the whole concept of exclusivity but people, this is Old Town Temecula, not Washington D.C. or London. The bar is inside of what is basically a food truck restaurant, so.... Message to the owners, you might want to focus a bit more on hospitality and bit less on theme. Luke's was happy to get our $$$ and will continue to do so. read more

Fun little hidden gem. You would not know this dimly lit, cool vibe, speakeasy was inside devilish us. Came in for a friends birthday, via reservation. For a weekday night, it was pretty packed. When I arrived, everyone had been two or three drinks in. Everyone raved about their drinks, saying they asked the bartender to whip them up something, according to their tastes. I planned to do the same, as I always tend to go this route. They are the masters of their crafts (or so we hope). Bartender seemed a bit overwhelmed? Probably because he was dealing with a bunch of demanding women? It did take a very long time to get a drink. Didn't complain, but I was also not acknowledged for a long time, even though standing right at the bar. That is annoying. The place really isn't that big to not be at knowledged. My drink was tasty, and the presentation was awesome. Drinks, cocktails at least, run about $12 and up. My sister got a glass of wine, which was $16.I would definitely like to come back and be able to have an actual conversation about the liquor with the bartender. read more

My husband and I went for a after dinner drink. Made a reservation. The place wasn't super crowded but a few groups in here were just so loud! I ordered a French martini and my drink came out in a champagne glass and wasn't a French martini it was more like champagne with some yellow stuff on top. I had planned to celebrate my birthday here as I had heard positive reviews from friends. On 5/30/21, my husband and I, along with another couple, came to check it out. We were seated at the bar and waited approximately 10 minutes before we were greeted by the bartender. I was expecting our bartender to be part of the fun experience. He was not fun. Did not engage with us. Handed us menus to choose our drinks from. Did not ask our drink preference (as I had heard that's what they are supposed to do and then often make a fun creation). Did not ask if we wanted to order food. Once our drinks were brought to us (which took another 15 minutes or so, but they were good), that was the end of the interaction from him. Another couple seated next to me had a different bartender. He engaged with them, was funny, asked their drink preferences and was all about giving them a wonderful experience. My group had planned on ordering another round of drinks and food, but we were not given that opportunity. After enough of being ignored, we had to ask the other bartender to get our check. He told our guy and after waiting an extended period, he had to be reminded again. We left feeling disappointed, hungry and irritated with the entire evening. I do feel this place has the potential to be awesome, but the lack of attention to customers definitely needs to be addressed. I recently saw a job posting for a new bartender and the very specific description for what is required to work for this establishment... our bartender was none of that. If those are truly the responsibilities and requirements, I'm not sure how our bartender was ever hired for this position to begin with.
