NIKKI was an angel at the bar! I walked in at 11:15 on a Thursday night, sat at the bar, ordered and had my flatbread in minutes! I came back! And Nick was just as awesome as a bartender! This time I got the Philly cheesesteak egg rolls! Nick told me they were made in house and tastey! He was right!

Food was yummy! The portions were pretty big. Service and ambiance were not bad from what I recall.

Best outdoor seating in Exton hands down. Good food, lots on the menu, great servers, and reasonably priced. All that and Dog-friendly taboot!

Believe the one star reviews. There are much better (and more affordable) places to eat in the up and coming Exton Main Street area. I was in the area and decided to dine in here instead of stopping by a fast food place. Well at least I assumed this dine in restaurant was higher quality than fast food but was mistaken. To begin, I wanted to order a burger so I asked the server what kind of beef they used. You would have thought I asked her a complex math question. She said "we just have regular ground beef" and I said okay, is it angus? Sirloin? She said she'd ask the chef. I saw her mentioning my question to other servers on her way to the kitchen and they exchanged looks and laughs toward my table. First red flag, but we decided to continue the order. I ordered a lemonade, cheeseburger, and waffle fries. Others at my table ordered the cheesesteak egg rolls and cheesesteak tacos. My food arrived on a dirty plate, as seen in the pictures. The lemonade was definitely cheap minute made lemonade. The waffle fries that I was charged $3 extra for arrived cold and soggy. The place was pretty full so the fact that the fries arrived cold (and other reviews also mention cold fries) is sad and inexcusable. The pickle was absolutely disgusting looking and inedible as you can see from the pictures. The burger was one of those previously frozen burgers you can buy at restaurant depot, which makes sense why the type of beef isn't listed on the menu and severs can't answer questions about it. The cheesesteak egg rolls were clearly old and not freshly fried. The person who ate them also said there was no cheese in them. This place seems allergic to serving fresh made food. As you can see, the egg rolls look like they were fried an hour ago and sitting under a heating light. You can even see a crust over the sauce which lets you know that these were not made fresh to order and were instead sitting around. It's not like we ordered 10 items, we just ordered two entrees and one appetizer... Paying full price for old food? Not cool. The person who ordered the cheesesteak tacos said they were good but the tortilla was soggy. As far as the service goes, the two people seating guests were on their phone the entire time. They did not say "hello" when we arrived or "goodbye" when we left... Additionally, there were about 2 servers who were servicing all the tables while the others sat in a booth at the back talking to each other. There were also drunk people at the bar yelling at the sports playing on TV so it's not a family friendly place. It's also quite small, so prepare to hear the conversations of every guest surrounding you. Overall I paid $55 (yes $55) for the order (a cheeseburger, tacos, and egg rolls) and was unimpressed. I certainly won't be wasting money here again.

Great restaurant in Exton! They have outdoor seating and are very dog friendly. Brought out a dog bowl with our drinks! Apparently, if the owner is here, he gives out dog treats :) didn't get to experience that tonight but that's lovely if it's true! The food was great, lots of options on the menu (lowkey overwhelming with so many choices!) you cannot go wrong with any of the sandwiches here. The outdoor seating was very nice and spacious and our dogs loved it.

Visited twice in a week n loved everything that I had here. Drinks are strong and tasty. Food's really yum. I like their Lemon pepper wings which I seldom find in other restaurants' menu. Shrimp tacos had some real tasty spicy shrimp, and even coconut shrimp had a subtle coconut enjoyable flavor. Looks like I've discovered a new favorite in the area!!

They even gave us what essentially on appetite's menu for my dog ANYWAY AND when it started to rain harder ALLOWED US INDOORS
    Alisha C.

I'd give it negative stars if possible. I went here SPECIFICALLY for their DOG MENU. It's been off and on raining VERY LIGHTLY, and I would have been more than fine getting wet to be able to dine with my HIGH CLASS WEENIE DOG (who also is an "emotional support dog" but I rushed out of my house and didn't think I actually NEEDED the vest as I was going to a dog friendly place). I was told "*shrug* nothing we can do". SO, I walked a few hundred feet away to WORLD OF BEER who HAPPILY accommodated me. Not giving them a second chance, as they couldn't even give my well behaved (better than MOST children) dog a first chance.

We went on a random Tuesday afternoon. It was nice outside, so we opted for outdoor seating. Our waitress was extremely nice! I ordered a cheesesteak and my friend ordered a burger. We also ordered pretzel bites. All 3 dishes were excellent. I was pleasantly surprised when I received the check to pay. The food is good and affordable. A+

    Calamari
    Taylor G.

The hostess working was not that friendly and seemed miserable. Our waitress was very friendly! Food came out in a timely manner. The calamari was okay probably won't get again, little chewy. Cheesesteak eggs rolls were decent, the dipping sauce was lacking flavor. Margarahita flatbread was full of flavor but expects a little thicker flatbread. Homemade chips that came with cheesesteak were good. Look forward to trying other items in the menu as the menu was HUGE! Rasperberry ice tea was not good at all. Restaurant was very busy but was sat down right away. Decently clean too!

When I first drove up, I didn't not immediately recognize it as the former Ship Inn because the traffic pattern at the intersection was different and the building looked more updated. The interior was spacious. My friend was at the bar where we sat the entire time. Since my friend was a regular, he knew the bar tender, Morgan. He vouched for her Old Fashioned which just happened to be what I had planned to order. The Old Fashioned was good. She made it with Evan Williams Bourbon. It had a good blend so that it was not too sweet, too bitter or overpowered by the bourbon. My friend ordered Garlic Parmesan wings which he seemed to enjoy. We sat talking for a couple of hours and never felt rushed. The vibe at the bar was friendly as folks came in and out for drinks. I will go back and check out the restaurant next time.

Overall, The Jockey is solidly average when it comes to food, service, and ambiance. Nothing outstanding, but nothing terrible either. Where The Jockey truly shines, though, is its Happy Hour value, which is easily the best in the area. Drinks are a great deal compared to nearby spots: half off all beers on tap, plus discounted house wine and cocktails. The Happy Hour appetizer selection is larger than most, and the quality is surprisingly good. Buck-a-shuck oysters! Only one variety, but for a dollar, you can't complain. Bonus points for offering Happy Hour on weekends, which is rare. If you're in the area during Happy Hour, it's absolutely worth stopping in.

True to my nature as a "prior proper planner," I already had an appointment scheduled in West Chester, so I headed down to get the repairs underway. While I waited, I decided to find some local eats. A quick Google search led me to The Jockey just outside of Philadelphia. The reviews mentioned it was a family-owned joint, and the decor looked incredibly inviting. The aesthetic actually reminded me of The Polo Bar in NYC; it has that same sophisticated, equestrian charm. Personally, I love horses--I know all the horses in the world, and they know me--and I know the horses. so I was eager to check it out. My mother picked me up from the dealership, and we "galloped" our way down to the restaurant. The Food I was surprised to find the place packed at 12:30 PM on a Tuesday, but I assumed we had just hit the peak lunch rush. We started with the calamari, my mother ordered a sandwich, and I opted for the salmon with drunken noodles. Honestly, I think the chef in the back was more "drunk" than the noodles. * The Salmon: It arrived super crisp and borderline burnt. * The Calamari: Overcooked, greasy, and wet--it felt like it hadn't seen a strainer or a paper towel since leaving the fryer. * The Sauce: The marinara was watery, almost as if the back-of-house was running low and decided to stretch it with water. The Verdict The only saving grace was the aesthetic. The decor is lovely, and they have a very inviting event space in the basement. However, you can't eat the wallpaper. * Food: 2/5 (A hard pass on the kitchen's execution.) * Service: 3/5 (The staff never checked on us while we were eating.) * Location/Convenience: 4/5 (Close to everything in a great area.) I likely won't be visiting this place again. I'm genuinely surprised this is a local favorite in such an upscale area--perhaps the locals just haven't ventured out enough to know what they're missing.

First, my girlfriend and I arrived to the restaurant. We requested a specific table, and the host was gracious enough to do so. We then waited 8 minutes before our table was even touched, and it was just our (server? No intro, nothing) ASKING us if we'd like water. We say yes, and then waited an additional 5 minutes just to receive water in PLASTIC cups. Again, this person never told us his name, and we weren't even sure if he was taking our order or not. He appeared to be about 18, and was most certainly high Then, we requested glasses, and since it had been 15+ minutes since we sat down, said we were ready to order when we got the glasses. The guy took our order. We both got cocktails, which also took about 10 minutes. Finally, our appetizer came. We weren't even halfway through before the entrees came, we probably had about 10 minutes to finish it. This all could have been negated if our order was taken correctly, and things could have been staggered correctly. The "two bite" check occurred within 30 seconds of our food being dropped, and by then I hadn't even touched my food. It was way too early and felt like he was just trying to get it out of the way. At that point both my girlfriend and I were just ready to eat and we said everything was fine. I had to ask the guy for a bag on the way out, rather than him giving me one after our food was put into 3 boxes. I want to be empathetic of whatever was going on at The Social that Sunday. Yet, if you are going to make your steak $42, the service needs to justify that price. I will not be going back to The Social, and encourage their management to speak to their server who flubbed the ENTIRETY of my experience there. Myself and my girlfriend both work in the service / restaurant industry, and we know what good service is. We also understand that there are bad days. This was just abysmal. 4/10.
