Well, OUR household is in fine shape thanks to Patrick Let's see....the dishwasher now DRIES the dishes when you tell it to. So....Christmas Eve Eve (that's December 23) falls on a Friday this year. Many businesses are closed. My office was closed. My washer decides it's time to stop agitating, which is...agitating...when one has loads of laundry to do before Christmas. Is anyone open? If so, will they charge holiday rates? Ugh!!! I call my best friend who happens to work for an appliance repair shop in IL for some advice before I call anyone (price, what could be the issue, etc. so I'm prepared), but she doesn't answer. Crap! I call a former client who goes Heating/AC/Appliance repair. Their answering service confirms they're closed for the holiday. Crap! I look on trusty yelp for some appliance repair shops with good reviews. Apple shows up in my search because they're in my neighborhood. I call & Patrick answers. My first question "Are you open today?" He replies "yes". Thank God! I explain my issue, text him a pic of the model tag on the lid, and he says he'll be there between noon and 1pm. He shows up at 12:03p . Cool!!! Very quickly, he replaced the part & charged me what he quoted over the phone. Very reasonable price I thought, but I had no clue what it should cost. He proceeded to tell me that he has the same older model washer/dryer set & that I should hang onto them because they don't make them to last 20+ years anymore. Good to know! I am very pleased with Patrick and Apple Appliance Repair! After having troubles contacting another repair service that was dispatched by our home warranty company, I searched our nextdoor app for recommendations. I saw that Apple Appliance Repair came highly recommended so I gave them a call. Patrick came out the next day and diagnosed our problem. Within a few days he came back out to install the new part. (Our dishwasher's control panel broke, and Patrick showed me the broken part and why it had happened that way, probably due to a power surge or outage). While he was there, I asked him to take a look at our freezer, which was leaking a bit of water at the bottom. Patrick knew exactly what was going on and fixed the problems within 15 minutes! Patrick came out to check out our fancy, front-loading 3-year old dryer this week which was stopping within two minutes of us hitting the "Start" button. We did some preliminary research that suggested you'd need to run a diagnostic on the machine to see what error codes it was giving and figure out the fix from there. Not wanting to muck with it, we figured we'd have a professional come out and fix it for us right away. We scheduled an appointment with Patrick, and he came out a few days later. He arrived and stared at the machine for a few minutes. When asked if it was because the vent needed to be cleaned out, he said no and that that wouldn't cause this type of issue. He said the only fix he can think to do is to replace the entire control panel for $300. We weren't convinced, so we paid him the $59 diagnostic fee and he left. After he left, my boyfriend hopped back on Google and looked up step-by-step instructions on how to get the error codes so we could figure out what's wrong. In less than five minutes, he figured out that one of the buttons was jammed. Once he pried that loose and fixed it (another 5 minutes), we were back in business and it's been smooth sailing since! I'm not looking to get the $59 diagnostic fee back, but I do want to warn other people about Patrick's ineptness. At a minimum, he could have looked up the error codes instead of just suggesting the most expensive fix in the book. I expect professionals to actually diagnose the problem rather than just stare blankly at the machine waiting for a solution to materialize. While a new control panel ($300) would have fixed the problem, it's not a cost effective solution. I'm truly shocked that Patrick @ Apple Appliance Repair has many reviews and that all of them are high ratings. Patrick neither diagnosed the problem or instilled confidence in us that he had any idea what he was doing. read more

Highway robbery!!! I called him thinking I was getting a honest fair service after reading the reviews but I was wrong. I had a leak on my LG washer drain hose that only took him less than an hour to replace but he charged me $182.94. I discovered the drain hose only retails less than $15. I understand people are in business to make a profit but this is straight highway robbery. $15 hose + 1hr job = $182.94, wow I'm in the wrong business. I don't normally write reviews but I had to write this one, I hope this will help others and just maybe he will think twice before he over charge another customer. I feel like he is fair and always as honest as he can be with me. Let me explain: After Reading all the reviews, I realized that all of the 1 and 2 star reviews are complaining about his price tag or have stated that after he left their place and had offered them an assessment, that they looked online and found a simple fix. Well, first of all, do people realize how few repairmen there are left? Their charge rate is high because they are in demand. Seriously! I called Apple Appliance Repair yesterday. Patrick answered when I called the first time and came out the next day. I had previously called another company about a week ago and never got a call back after I left a voicemail.. so it was great that Patrick was on top of things! All 4 burners on my stove stopped igniting and the spark module needed to be replaced. Patrick was very nice and engaged in conversation. His labor is guaranteed for 60 days and the part for 1 year. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because I thought the price was a bit steep for something that only took 30 minutes to repair. However, he would have charged a $59 service call fee regardless and I didn't want to end up paying that for nothing just to get a different quote from someone else. I was charged $250 plus tax, so it came out to $275. He waived the service call fee for me since I ended up moving forward with the repair. I looked at spark modules online and they can run from $120 to $200, so perhaps this was a fair estimate.. but I can't say for sure since I'm not knowledgable when it comes to repairs.
