HORRIBLE!!! HORRIBLE!!! MAKE THE DRIVE AND GO TO THE PLAZA DOWNTOWN. I made a 4pm appointment, arrived early, got a text while I was there that stated a technician was ready to see me after I had already checked in. Waited 30 minutes and no one came over, I reminded the person at the front that a technician hasn't came. After waiting they said sorry we are running late it will be another 10 minutes, thats understandable if they are that busy, however, I didn't get helped until 8:15pm when my appointment was a 4pm! I had never been ignored or treated so poorly anywhere in my LIFE! I had no choice but to wait because I needed a replacement phone for work the following day. I will never go back to this location again and I will be sure to send everyone to the plaza! read more

The customer service here is terrible. We took our phones in to have batteries replaced. After handing our devices over we were told they would be ready in 3 hours. We showed back up and they hadn't even started on our phones. After they rushed to try to get our phones ready they BROKE one of our phones. Thankfully we backed up both devices because when they handed us a refurbished one for the one they broke and didn't even offer to transfer any data. Now we are saddled with the chore of restoring the data, the cost of replacing a screen protector and the cost of a magnetic lenses adapter. Its too bad they can't manage their time instead they chose to sacrificing customer service. read more

Broken. Poorly organized, managed. No appointment to replace an iPhone battery = 1.5 hour estimated wait time, and then an additional 1.5 hour estimated wait time, after not receiving a notice on the first wait time. I've been in Mac stores from DC to NY and even rural PA and have been through the rigamarole enough times to know to budget almost absurd abuses ($90 to replace a forgotten power cord, $270 to fix the thumb print mechanism on my iPhone) of money and time, but I had never been to Leawood, KS. You cannot expect service or help from a place itself so broken. read more

Love their phones but their cases aren't worth paying twice as much. When I bought the iPhone X Apple case I was sold that it had a one year warranty. I took my 6 month old Apple case in to this store and was told that the one year warranty didn't cover this case. The lower part of the gel case has ripped. I asked the sales "specialist" what was normal wear for a case? I've had cases that cost half as much, that lasted for over a year. I feel like I was just ripped off and taken advantage of because I am a young lady. A case protects the phone and this Apple case is falling apart and no longer protecting my phone. If a warranty on a case doesn't cover it when the case is cracking, what does the warranty cover? It's one piece with zero moving parts. read more

I went into the Apple Store this evening and couldn't get anyone to wait on me. I wanted to buy an ipad. I guess that they must be selling enough of them that they don't need my business. I hope that some other company comes out with one. If they are this bad selling you one, I can't imagine how bad they are with helping you when something goes wrong. read more

I went to the Leawood KS Apple store this morning with an admittedly difficult problem. I have a Macbook pro with a mini Display port. I need, however, to feed a keynote presentation to a system with a composite video input. All of the solutions I have seen on-line essentially consist of using a display port to VGA adapter cord and then feeding that into a converter box that has composite video out. There are quite a few such converter boxes advertised with quite widely varying reviews and prices. So, I thought i would stop by and get the display to VGA cable and ask for some guidance on the converter box, assuming that the store didn't carry any of the 3rd party units. I explained my quest to the 'associate' at the door and he promptly informed me that it couldn't be done. (not off to a good start) I explained what i had come up with on-line and that i was looking for some guidance. He reiterated that apple doesn't make such an item (I told him that I knew that) and that there he didn't think anyone made such converters and then proceeded to give me a rather condescending lecture about the technology of a display port was different than that of a composite video signal. I repeated what I had told him to start with about the numerous vga to composite converters available at which point he told me that he 'understood what I wanted to accomplish but that it wasn't possible because no one made such a converter. At no point did this 'associate' (I'm sorely tempted to abbreviate the title to the first 3 letters) acknowledge that he obviously didn't know what he was talking about nor did he offer to find someone who did. I informed him ( in an admittedly louder than normal voice) that this was the first time I had ever had been sorely disappointed by any apple product or service and by his total incompetence. (much to the interest of the class which was being conducted at a nearby table) and left the store. I've been happily using Apple products since the Apple II days and the original Mac and I guess there has to be a few bad apples but this was a real disappointment. read more

My experience with this store has been horrible. First, My fiance took in his iPhone 4 after an update gone wrong, and they said there was a "physical problem" but couldn't tell us what was wrong with it which is why the new software update wouldn't go through. So after making him buy a $149 replacement phone they took his phone to "fix the broken part and resell it" Today I went to pick up my laptop I was having fixed and although their hours are 10a.m- 9pm, they had a sign on the door that said closed until 2. This is not okay for the type of business they are running. I will never go back to this store for any purchase or fix. read more

Went to the Apple Store on 119th Street during the Christmas holiday. Walked in around 9:30am one day just to by an i-Tunes card. Walked through the entire store, making one pass, and NOT ONE employee engaged me. Not even the female employee who was chatting up the Leawood cop. Finally, somebody talked to me, sent me to the "speed table", where I stood there for 9 minutes before the female employee who was talking to the cop came to "help me." Some help. Once I told her what I was looking for, she got it, but couldn't check me out because she was too stupid to use the iPhone that Apple gave her. She passed me off to a third employee, who finally took my $50 and sold me the card. I got better service at Wal-Mart that morning from an asmatic sick old lady manning a cash register than I did at the Apple Store. Don't waste your time going into this store if you are needing personal attention. They don't know how to provide it. read more

I took my old computer in. I was frustrated. I did not schedule an appointment. They got me in within 30 minutes. Time went by fast due to checkng out the new stuff. The guy spent 30 minutes working on my computer. Then he said he could send it off for repairs. It came back in 5 days and was cleaned up new speakers new battery new casing. It was like having a brand new computer. Price was very reasonable considering this is Apple. read more

I had a problem with my IPhone and waited 90 minutes to talk to a Technician. The first guy who signed me in for a technician was excellent and helpful, but the technician who I ended up getting did not follow through and help me out as he should have. He is from the Leawood store and traded out my phone for $300 but did not help me transfer all of my old information over which the first guy had helped me back up. The technician brushed me off and asked me to step to the side to work on it myself. As a result after waiting 90 minutes, I left and tried to transfer things myself from home and it was not a successful transfer. I wish he had better customer service and realized that people wait a long time with these problems and that he should have seen it through to the end. read more

If you want to replace the battery in your phone plan on an all-day event. I started at 12:30 trying to make an appointment on-line only to find that I could not get an appointment for another WEEK? Seriously? So then I called. No answer. So I drive 20 minutes to the store and get my name in right away thinking "this is great". WRONG. They took my name and told me to come back in 3 1/2 hours after receiving a text. Went back, waited 15 minutes, assessed the issues with the phone and they proudly announced to come back 3 hours later to pick it up? Seriously? What a bunch of nonsense. 3 trips for a battery replacement? I may be one of the few that dreads going to the Apple store for reasons I've mentioned but it's also sheer chaotic madness and frustration. Apple products, you make our lives so efficient but your store(s) are not. read more

After a very unsatisfying phone call to follow up on a work order for my MacBook Pro, I went in to the store to see a manager in person. Chad was perfect. He patiently listened to my story and never once made me feel rushed. He maintained eye contact and never looked at his watch or seemed that anything else was more important at that time. Not only did he check on my service order, he came back after a short 5 minutes to give me a status update. I had to go out of town the next day and my part [logic board] had only just arrived. I expected to wait and asked if it would be a problem for them to hold on to my computer until my return in about 12 days. He said yes, but they were prepared to ship it to my destination at no charge! UPS ground and insured! I was speechless with gratitude. My Genius Bar appointment that started the whole process was equally excellent. Gabe was patient and attentive, never once making me feel "computer ignorant." The surrounding staff also made an excellent suggestive sale of a bluetooth keyboard. I now can use that with my iPad as a backup. Superior customer service can make or break a business. Leawood just won mine. Gabe and Chad can take the credit. read more

This is a shoutout to Genius Bar worker Jason and their manager Jeremy. I came in with a network issue in the afternoon and spoke with one of the technicians. The technician told me to come back in an hour and a half and did not offer me any specific appointment time or a way to be notified when the Genius Bar was ready for me. I came back into the store a little over an hour and a half later to discover that I would have to wait 45 more minutes for my appointment. I spoke with another technician who directed me to Jeremy. Jeremy performed excellent customer service and set me up with a Genius Bar worker, Jason. Jason was cordial, fun to talk to, and made an incredibly positive impact on my experience in the Apple store. Apple, if you see this, give these guys a raise! read more

I went into the store last weekend to find out I did not have an appointment after I had called AppleCare and set it up. Went home and made another appointment for the next weekend at 2:30, call during the week and confirm that appointment three times got to the store today, and AppleCare had made three appointments for me not one of them was The time I had scheduled. Of course why would an individual need three appointments? I explained at the store my appointment was at 2:30 and I had called and confirmed it, and they argued with me. I called AppleCare to find out the appointment was made at 230. I sit for an hour and waited for my appointment the only reason why I gave the Store three stars is because the technician was extremely kind. My iPad was under warranty so they replaced it. Now here comes the kicker I came home to find out the new iPad had the same problem as the old iPad and does not charge. I called the store and they told me I could not come back that day they were already full so what you can't take care of an issue that you couldn't fix in the first place?.... I called AppleCare back of course and set on hold for 30 minutes now I have to wait to mail it in, and then get a new one!! so much incompetence, and i do have a life to live! The only reason I'd ever go back is because the tech was kind even as he knew I was upset! But he also should have made sure it would charge, and I guess I should have to. When I arrived, staff seemed annoyed and in a condescending tone told me the issues the iPad was having was my fault. There is no reason to belittle someone who is coming in for an issue with the company's product. Unless I feel like I need to be talked down to again, I will not visit this location. read more

The so-called genius couldn't figure it out. Let me start by saying I like the product but hate the store. My macbook pro, January 2008 purchase stopped booting, could hear the disk spinning but no picture. Stopped in to have it looked at was told I needed an appointment but they could squeeze me in in about 2 hours. Went to Sullivan's best part of my night. Was told the logic board was shot, they wouldn't replace due to a dent in the case but suggested Micro Center. Talked with a guy at work who told me Apple had a recall due to a bad video card that was overheating and frying the logic board and they were fixing the problem for free. Did some research, found the recall, made an appointment and headed back to the Apple store. The second genius told me the same thing, didn't know about the bad video card or the recall and told me too bad that I needed to spend $1200 someplace else to get it fixed. So off I went to Micro Center, they ran the same tests, told me about the recall and fixed it for free, cost me ZERO dollars. Can't understand why Apple store employees were unable to help. read more

As long as this store has existed it has sought to get money out of you anyway it can and does not cover valid, in warranty repairs no matter what the reason is...I took in an iPhone in that was device swapped 2 weeks ago for a cracked screen and the new device I got completely malfunctioned and died. The techs here decided it was visually warped and refused to cover it, and offered me a "deal" of 20% off another device swap cost of $300 or could walk out with nothing (the manager's actual words!) Seeing no option I paid and called Apple support for a remedy, they told me they could get the cost replaced they just have to have the manager sign off on it after a quick chat, something that apparently could be written off with to corporate with the store not incurring any cost so as to protect their profit line...and the same manager still said no and then additionally lied to the call site about how severe the damage was making it sound as if it was completely warped. Upon which I additionally learned the store managers cannot be overridden on repair issues, not even by top level corporate call reps and they basically bowed out and said nothing more they could do. Long story short, these guys will try to get any dollar they can out of you no matter what ethical boundary they have to break. Go to the one at Country Club instead...at least there when they do repairs they make sure the whole device is functional before you leave the store, something the tech here didn't do instead of running off to the next appointment so as to gouge some cash out of them as well I bet. read more

If it wasnt for a tech named Ricky, i would give this place zero stars. After being ignored for 45 minutes, Ricky was the only one who greeted me. Speaking of being greeted, what is the purpose of the guy who stands at the door as you walk in??? Is he supposed to greet you as you walk into the store and direct you to the right place??? Well...this guy ignored me. He walked around me, by me, looked at me at least 10 times. Never once did he ask if I had been helped yet. The purpose of my visit was to see how much it would cost to get an iPad fixed. Ricky led me to another technician who barely even looked at my iPad and told me it would be $200 to get it fixed. She asked if I had Applecare and I was not sure. Did not turn on the iPad or get any other info to check. I told her I wanted to buy a new iPad. She put my name on some list for a sales person help me. Gabe, the sales guy was nice but not it wasnt enough to change the fact I was initially ignored. Gabe asked where I worked and to look at my work badge to see if there were any discounts. No other mention of a discount after that. Didnt say I got one or didnt get one. Nonetheless, he got credit for a sales. If it wasnt for a gift certificate, I would not have gone to this store. Bottom line is that if you want to buy an Apple product, go to Best Buy or Microcenter. Save yourself and boycott this store. read more

Horrible.. It seems like Apple was bought by AT&T because there customer service is as bad as dirctv / ATT... My phone wont charge and they are telling me I have to wait over a week to get an appointment to see someone. In the meantime, my phone won't charge so I will be without my business phone for a week while they try to fit me in. read more

This place honestly has so many employees you'd think they'd have it covered but they clearly don't. i had an appointment set and showed up on time and figured since it was busy i might still have to wait. 20 minutes go by after my appointment time so i go up and ask what's up and he said "oh you got deleted from our list i apologize you'll be up next" so i was like ok he was nice ill be next it's cool. I wait another 25 minutes just to see multiple other customers leave and come sit down at the genius bar and even right next to me who also went up and said something. I got totally ignored even after setting up an appointment, waiting for atleast 45 minutes, and after them telling me i'm up next. Get out of here. I rate one star cause the guy was nice. read more

I used to always prefer to go to the Apple Store for any issues with the phone but next time I may rethink that and also may rethink whether or not I want an Apple product! The Leawood Apple Store sold me a phone that doesn't work. The basic simple function of using a cell phone, I can not do and I have been to the store now 3 times to get this fixed. No one I know would be ok with going to the store 3 different times to fix an issue AND waiting over 2 hours every time they go PLUS getting a baby sitter just to go to the store bc it takes at least 2 hours every time we go!! I went in over my lunch break with my dad to buy a MacBook Air. I knew the exact model I wanted, and was ready to purchase it immediately. However, nobody greeted us. I was standing around, looking at my computer, waiting for somebody, but everyone was just standing around being unhelpful. I noticed them talking to some kids, but never approached us. My dad and I would (somewhat) loudly talk about how I was ready to buy that laptop, and still no help. So I used the internet on the display model and purchased it from the website instead. Absolutely terrible customer service. I have been an Apple user for as long as I can remember, and have never been ignored like this! I will be going to back to the Plaza location in the future. I went to the Leawood store to find out about getting an Ipad2. Their website said that it opened at 10 am, which is when I arrived. The store was jammed packed when I went in. After looking at Ipads myself for 20 minutes, and never having anyone ask if I needed any help or questions, I left. What a waste of time. read more

My complaint isn't with the products, but with the associates at the Leawood store. I went in to exchange an iPad I had just purchased and the associate never made eye contact or acknowledged anything that I said to him. The same thing happened when I had to return the newly purchased iPad since it had dead pixels. Associates just weren't polite to someone laying several hundred dollars down for merchandise.
