Whether you're in need of something or not, you can spend a considerable amount of time here just checking out the products. The store is laid out nicely, bright, and open. There's typically one or two employees up front to find out what you need and check you into the queue. A lot of people make appointments, but I just showed up on a Saturday, and I didn't find the wait exorbitant. You should expect a wait, but it's because they spend the time with the customer to make sure they have everything they need to hit the ground running with whatever they purchased. They have plenty of products around to give them a go, and it's not just one demo model per product like at most stores. They have more than one of the same model so you don't have to wait on someone to get done playing around with it. I haven't made the leap to a MacBook, but something tells me that I'll be back to look into one some more. read more

Very, very poor communication at this store. I went in for a walk-in appointment on a weekend to get my Apple Watch fixed. Now, I fully realized that they are very busy and that there could be a long wait. However, the guy who checked me in estimated a 1h45 minute wait, and advised me to hang out around the area. They would supposedly send me a text when my turn was coming up. When the time came and passed without my receiving a text, I returned to the store to see what was going on. I was then told that I had an appointment set for 6 PM, over an hour later. If somebody had told me it would be a 3-4 hour wait at the beginning, I would have understood. Then, I could have just scheduled an appointment for a later date, or I could have gone home to do something productive with my day. At that point, I just said forget it and bought a new watch at Target. read more

I came in to get some new earbuds. I walked up to a rep and asked to assist me. The employee stated someone would come and help. He was not doing anything. No one came. Very disorganized. No structure. I stood and waited and finally gave up and am now driving to the plaza location. Needs new management. read more

I certainly like the concept of this store. However, I have not had a very good experience. They need to train their people a little better. Let me explain. Apple is offering a better trade in on IPhones right now. I came in to trade two phones for two new ones. However, they are for gifts and I don't have the trade in until after Christmas when I give the people the new phones. I waited in line for 30 minutes to see someone. They advised that I must return the phones within 14 days to get the special trade in prices. So I had to wait a week so that the 14 days would be after Christmas for the trade in. I go back a week later and they tell me sorry, they told you wrong. We can't guarantee the trade in price because Apple may change it on us at any minute and they don't tell us when it will happen. So you can buy them today, but there is no guarantee you will get the higher trade in value. And they made me wait another 20 minutes to hear this news. I know things happen, but come on. My time is more valuable than standing in line to be told no. I like Apple products. But they need to work on their service, training and communication. read more

Very disappointed today! Came in around 2 pm with a broken laptop. Was told it would be a 2 hour wait and they took my name and information down. I was then told I would receive a confirmation text within 10 minutes confirming my spot in line and then I would receive another text 15 mins before my appointment. An hour passed and I never received the confirmation text. Tried to call but 10 mins in the person helping me on the phone lost connection and I did not get a call back and I did not feel like sitting through another 10 mins of talking to a robot. Decided to drive all the way back to the store to check in. The man said it was "weird" that I never got a confirmation text and when I asked if I would for sure get a text before my appointment time he said "well, you should." What?? He then updated my time to 545. It is now 542 and I have heard nothing! read more

So, it's Apple, so they have cool stuff. It's about the same inside as the one on the Plaza, a bit bigger actually. But never the same crowd level as at the Plaza. The big difference between this store and the Plaza store is the staff. At the Plaza, the staff is more tech/geek type; every time I am at the Leawood store it seems I have to ask three people before I can get an answer to my question. Also, the staff at the Plaza store is just nicer and cares more about what you're DOING with the product. Very helpful, much more so than this store. But, like I said, it is Apple, so it can't be all bad. One other thing: we live about 2 miles form this store and always go to the Plaza store, so there isn't any JoCo bias here. I had to write about this experience because it pays to spread good information. I'm an Apple guy (of course) and had trouble with my Apple Wireless Mighty Mouse. It has a one year warranty and its scrolling problem is well known throughout forums and the Mac community. Most solutions are to clean the mouse with a variety of MacGyver methods. After doing all these, my mouse still was having problems with scrolling. So off to the Apple Store I went. I arrived at the Genius Bar, mouse in hand (in the box) with my receipt and hoped for a quick swap and on my way. As expected, I still indulged the guy at the counter to clean my mouse right in front of me [knowing all the while, I had already done this]. After spending 15 minutes of wasted time, he finally came to the conclusion it was a bad mouse. I said. . . I know. Somehow, he said that if I didn't have my receipt I would of had to buy a new mouse! So lucky me. What! I had the box, meaning they could of scanned the UPC (which he did), saying it wasn't in the system. Usually Apple is great about this but for some reason, this time was different. I was then told that even with a year warranty, thatt I was being done a favor to exchange the mouse. Unbelievable. We're talking a $70 mouse that is only a few months old and is still under warranty! That got me a little hot under the collar. I was told that accessories are linked to your computers so that's why the purchase of a mouse by itself doesn't show up and I would of been AOL without the receipt. So they retrieved a brown box from the back with a mouse in it. Hmmmm. . . a brown box? What about a new mighty mouse box? What is this? Am I getting a refurbished mouse or something. Apparently so. Here I bought this new mouse and now they're replacing it with a refurbished one even though mine is still under warranty. As you can imagine, I was truly disgusted and disappointed in Apple now. Here's a company with (in my opinion) amazing products and loyal customer base but with high price points. You would think they would follow suit on their customer service and in situations like this, retaining that customer loyalty. They make so much money as is on their hardware that catering to customers should be a top priority, showing how much they stand behind their goods. Mouse is faulty, still under warranty, guy paid for this product - let's get this guy a new mouse. HOW TOUGH IS THAT TO GRASP? I have heard different stores handle situations differently sometimes and right now, this shop and even Apple themselves have turned me a bit sour. read more

I've never been into an Applestore and I went on a occasion with frustration- unable to return my AirPods for the latest version of the AirPods pro. After speaking with the Manager (tall brunette), she was able to accept my return In a professional manner. Service was fast even though it was packed with people and staff was very friendly. I came to the Apple store to purchase an iPad mini Tech 21 cover. The website showed they were in stock last night. I drive over today and all they have is a Tech 21 iPad mini with retina cover for $10 more. The manager would not price match that product for mine even when an employee suggested he do so. My choice is to pay $4 for shipping that other stores do for free or drive over here a week from now and purchase one, assuming they have it in stock. Apple does not value it's customers. It was a little bit disappointment with today's visit: when I arrived there with some computer questions, one receptionist registered me and informed that it is going to be an hour to see a tech. I was lucky enough to get a Mac for Christmas! Since I have only had a PC and an iPad, I needed help in getting acquainted with my new device. I signed up for some classes that are offered free. Wow, what a perk! The instructors are amazing and so patient. I have found that I can go to the same workshops and learn different things each time as the classes are really driven by the people who attend the workshop. I have become so much more confident in using my Mac and I have learned more about my mobile devices too in classes. I love the classes, and have also seen some of the same people attending various classes. It may sound geeky, but at least I'm not constantly calling my adult children to help me learn how to do stuff on my new Mac! read more

New experience today: Bought a Thunderbolt display, opened it and didn't have MagSafe2 in it. Took it back and the guy trying is BS ing me that yeah you have to buy a converter separately! To which I replied Are you telling me I buy a $1000.0 monitor and out of box doesn't work with the latest laptop of that company and I have to pay more now? Goes to Apple website and finds the Thunderbolt page and In specs shows me see it says MagSafe! At this point I am like oh shut up! So I say let me drive! Do a search on the same page for MagSafe and bingo! In the Whats in the box section on the same page it says Comes with a MagSafe to NagSafe2 converter! Same thing that was missing and the guy was bull shitting me to buy it separately! At this point he shuts up! Goes and gives me a converter for free, which should be. Moral of story?! Don't bull shit your customers and don't pull rules out of your ass if you just simple don't know about the topic! Just say hmm I don't know, let me check on that for you! read more

I made an appointment online and came in here to get my computer checked out. Lately, it's been turning off without warning and acting strange. So I came in to have the genius bar help me. When I walked up and pulled out my computer, the guy asked me what the problem was. I told them that I think my computer is dying. The guy opened up the info of my computer (which show the OS) and said, "Yeah, it's probably dying. We can fix it for $800 or you can buy a new laptop for $1,000." First of all, he did nothing that would lead him to discover the underlying reason that my computer is dying (I think it might have to do with the battery). He also was completely disinterested in finding out the reason. It was not busy at all...I got the sense that he was just lazy. Rather than waste my time with him, I packed up my computer and left. Having been to other Apple stores and worked with very professional people at the genius bar, I'm quite disappointed. I would hope the employees could be trained better in the future. read more

I own a Dell not a mac so I'm not completely an Apple groupie but I do have to say that Apple is about as good as it gets when it comes to their products and the stores are no exception. The Leawood store is larger and newer than the Plaza location. The decor is classic Apple, very minimalist, clean, bright, and modern. They have an Apple greeter, similar to the Wal-Mart greeter, when you first enter the store. If you've never been to an Apple store all the products they sell are displayed on long tables and they invite you to explore and play with the merchandise. Apple products are the kinds of things that the more you use them the more you will have to have one. Very high cool factor. The one thing about an Apple store is that it is not quite like your traditional retail store. The main difference is that there is no cash register counter and I, like many, approached the genius counter in back falsely believing that that is where you pay for your merchandise. Every employee has a specially modified iPod touch that is a portable cash register so you can go up to any employee and pay for your items. This is just classic Apple doing it differently, more efficiently, and simpler than the typical competition. I really can't think of anything they do wrong that I would give them a lower score. It's clean, there is plenty of help, the shelves are well stocked, etc.. I hope Steve Jobs never retires because he knows how to run a company better than anyone. Of course that's my opinion but I am certainly entitled to it. read more

I just have to say just how completely disgusted I am with not only apple but the employees they have in their store in Leawood. I have been a very loyal apple person all my life but they really need to work on standing behind their products when the product clearly was junk to begin with. I am beyond my wits end with the absolute total lack of customer care that I have received in this store on multiple occasions pertaining to my ipod shuffle 3.0. This system clearly has had it's issues and they did away with it and went back to the original shuffle system. I am one of the very unlucky people that has had nothing but problems with the earphones constantly breaking and then not being able to use my shuffle. I have driven down from prairie village more than my fair share of times trying to "replace" the parts that keep breaking. I am sure I have spent more in gas than the thing is even worth but they won't offer any fair solutions to me at this point. My husband has had the exact same problems with his as well and frankly I am so irate that the employees not only act as though there is no problem and act so arrogant and belligerent toward their customers I went in yesterday for the umpteenth time trying to resolve the same problem AGAIN and the mgr on duty was the biggest jerk I have encountered yet. I just want to replace my shuffle with the current shuffle which costs 30 dollars less than the one I currently own and also does not have the same amount of memory. I think this is a very fair solution considering the time I have invested in trying to make the shuffle I have work. He never apologized to me for the problems I have encountered, he even defended the product acting so arrogant as though I must the only one who has had this problem (even though they have done away with it and it's reviews of it have had the same problems I have had). Every time I asked him a question he just went around it with some BS answer. He showed total lack of respect and even had the nerve to tell me he basically wasn't concerned with my problem but concerned about getting his store closed and his employees home. His solutions to me were to replace the earphones AGAIN and or give a 10% discount on a new shuffle. What kind of customer care is this? Obviously I was frustrated and angry because I am sick of wasting time on the same problem and just want what I think anyone would want, to be told I am sorry that this has happened and to be given some sort of solution that benefits me NOT APPLE! He even told me at the end of our dispute that he didn't think it was that big of deal and basically acted like I should just cough up the money and buy a new one! That was just so rude and he should honestly should get fired over telling a customer that! I honestly am just shocked that they are so unwilling to do anything to stand behind the product that it makes me question if I will even continue to waste my hard earned money on appleware if this is the way they teach their staff to deal with people. It is horrendous customer care and I am furious that my problem was dealt with such disregard and over 30 dollars APPLE probably has lost a devout APPLE lover and customer. Thinking about the way I was treated writing this just infuriates me all over again! I would think twice if I were you by investing money into things they won't back! read more

There was a ton of people who did a walk-in for their service to be done and I was told I can't be fit into the schedule because they don't have me in the system. I was given an iPad for business use and told to learn how to use it. They recommended that I check out an Apple store for this purpose. I made an appointment but when I showed up was told I had made the appointment for the wrong thing. As long as I was there already, I tried to get some very basic questions answered but did not. Just wanted to learn how to download documents, use an already established email account, and password protect my iPad. Did not learn any of these things. Seriously? I guess the one thing that I did learn is that Apple does not have an interest in helping people in my demographic. Worst customer service ever. I had a visit here to get a Beats headset to my husband as a gift. Well, I did already select the color online and reached there to get the same. But the salesperson said that the headset in that color is out of stock. I asked him if he could check it in the inventory as I can still see its availability online in that store. He said that he was confident that all that's there in the store are here. After a while i asked another person for the help. He went and said he found one. I was happy but at the same time wasn't pleased how few are not able to corporate or provide appropriate information. And while I was waiting there for the man to return some other guy comes and asks me if I am sitting there for a demo as only people who wants to have a demo can sit there! Crap! And I was there on a weekday and still it was totally crowded and it took almost 15 min for a person yo approach to provide help. It was a worst experience I had. read more

Since I wrote a negative review about my last visit to the Leawood, KS store I want to write a positive reivew about my experience today. I attended a class which was taught by Christian. He was fantastic. In an hour and a half he covered the basics on the new iphones and ipads. There were six attendees with varying degrees of basic knowledge and he managed to handle all levels with respect. He was a good listener to each question/concern and explained each function so well. Standing in the Apple store writing this review as we wait. Came here with an iPhone that won't charge, that is currently covered under AppleCare warranty. We expected a long line. But when we got to the person who does triage, they did not tell us that if we left the store (in anticipation of the 1 and 1/2 hour estimated wait time) we would go to the bottom of the walk in list. WHAT? He just said that if we came back about 5pm, that would be great. No mention that we lose our place in line. So we came back, checked on our name and was told that we are now back on the walk in list at the bottom. Really? And I paid $99 for AppleCare so if the phone won't charge or whatever, that I could hand someone the phone and get a new one. Maybe if they were not so smart and snotty, the ridiculous rule wouldn't have bothered me so much. I HATE coming here. read more

There is NO better place in the KC Metro to get connected!! I have spent allot of time with the Sales and the Technical Teams at this Apple store. My visits have been for myself and for MANY others who I have referred to this Apple Store. One of the best things is the Genius Bar that allows you to stand across the counter from someone who knows a whole lot more about the Apple Products than you do and they willingly share that knowledge, rain you, and help you find the exact solution you are looking for. Came to get my IPhone XR fixed and instead of Apple fixing it, I was told my phone has been modified. When I asked what modification was made to it, they avoided the question and refuse to give a straight one. Asked to speak to manager and waited for 2 hours and no manager ever came to address the problem. The only thing good about this experience is the guy that greeted us about the problem. He was understanding and I believe he truly wish he could have solved our problem but the manager never showed. I hate that as expensive as their product is, they refuse to stand behind their logo/brand. Last Apple product I'll ever buy. read more

After a quick appraisal I had to end up making an appointment and returning. While I intentionally took one that was 2.5 hours later, they did have ones within an hour of the time we arrived.
