I usually frequent the larger store in Valley Fair, but I've been known to stop here on my way home from work. On two seperate occasions I've had issues with my iphone or accessories, and both times the staff member says "Ohh I'm sorry you've been having problems, let me take this in back for a sec." They went back, confirmed the issue and came after about 5 minutes. I was expecting a three day wait, instead they handed me a new one (an iphone and, later, an iphone bluetooth headset) and let me go on my way with just a simple signature. My only minor gripe is that the appointments are such that they always run past your particular appointment time. However I waited no more than 10 min each time so not a major problem. This store is much easier to deal with than the Valley Fair store, simply because of the lower foot traffic. read more

I typically hate Apple stores and to be honest, I only remember walking into one of them maybe once or twice. But after the horrid experience of cracking my screen, trying to repair it with a new one from Amazon, and then the touchscreen not working (all of this on top of just a really bad day), I forced myself to walk in. The girl who greeted me wasn't the nicest... and it could've been because I was in a frustrated mood. But she told me even though there were absolutely no appointments available, she would try and make something happen. After she left, a guy (Aaron?) walked up to me asking if I'd been helped. I told him what was wrong, he checked my information, and said I could probably get a new phone. Although this was part of my warranty anyway, he had a great attitude and did everything he could to help me. 10 minutes later, he walked out with a new iPhone for me. I am so happy with the experience I had. I'm sure they're not always perfect, but on a bad day like today, dealing with the situation I had, it turned out great and I am so appreciate of the great customer service shown! A lot of people aren't aware that Oakridge Mall has an Apple store, but they do. This is certainly the smallest Apple store I've ever been to. They have all of the Apple products normally represented at an Apple store, they just have less duplicates that some of the larger ones do. For instance, you'll find only one or two of the same MacBook Pro model rather than 6 of them. The store also doesn't have a lot of room if it's crowded, but it's typically not very crowded unless it's really just a very busy mall day. There is also less room for accessories. If you're heading in for an iPhone or iPod accessory like a case, try one of the larger stores like Los Gatos or Valley Fair that will have a much larger selection. Oakridge has pretty much the bare minimum. Service has been top notch. I have done defective iPhone returns and shopped on many occasions, in every case I got the utmost representation of service with a smile. My latest visit was at 6AM for the iPhone 3G S launch and they handled that beautifully. One of the benefits of going here over one of the larger stores is that it isn't as busy. read more

I secured an appointment with one of the technicians here, and even though i was a few minutes late, Aaron was there to Gladly assist me %100. Aaron is THE MAN! In less than 30 minutes i rolled out of here with a brand new Phone, and didnt lose a single text message, email, contact, application, or picture! I cannot express how awesome these guys are for not only fixing my phone, but taking care of business in a prompt, friendly manner. This is why i will continue to use MAC products only. I experienced the worst service possible. I first walked in on Saturday evening due to a sensor not working on my iPhone 6. I was told no technicians were available and I could walk in the following day. I walked in the following day around 12.30 pm and was told I need an appointment, this was the first time I've heard of this - I've had atleast 3 iPhones swapped out and the whole process took less than 10 minutes each time (without an appointment). So the next available appointment was 2 pm so I took it. I had to kill 1.5 hours in the mall When I arrived at 2 pm I was bounced around from customer service rep to customer service rep, the whole process was highly unorganized. Eventually when I saw a "technician" he had no valuable information to address my issue - as I had expected. He told me they would try to replace my iPhone display first and if that didn't resolve my issue only then would they replace my iPhone. I was told to come back at 4pm, and when I did again I was bounced around to 3 different customer service reps just to pick up my phone. I eventually had to get a little aggressive towards them to get their attention. Eventually I got my iPhone but overall a horrible experience and I would rather recommend someone to go to a third party company instead read more

I've been to this location multiple times to buy ear buds, charging cables, and iPhones. I went in this morning to upgrade to an iPhone 6S. Tommy was extremely helpful through the process of upgrading and setting up my phone. He also has a great sense of humor! Definitely made my morning. Absolute worst experience at an Apple Store. I came in with a cracked screen, thought it would take a couple of hours to fix, but my phone ended up having to be sent out to their Apple engineers, they allowed me a loaner phone in the meantime which was convenient. I already had a few suspicions they would try to make me believe there were more issues with my phone than their actually were. I get an email saying they had found a hardware issue, and that my phone has an issue connecting to Wi-fi, I never had that problem, something they made up. To fix this issue they wanted to charge me $567. I knew exactly what the issue was, just a broken screen so I requested to have my phone sent back without the screen repair being done. When I came in to pick up my phone the sales associate attempted to use fancy language by calling the hardware issue, "the brain of the phone" to really try and convince me the problem was severe. I was not having it with the falsity and took my phone to The Phone Doctor on Lincoln Ave in San Jose where I was charged $190 for my phone repair. Very quick, 30 minutes, very nice owner, and great results. I had previously suspected my phone only needed a screen repair and I was right. Beware of the tricks those Apple employees try to use, they will try to make you think you need to spend an absurd amount of money on a non-existent repair. Always consider a second opon read more

I just came by today to pickup a few new iPhones, iPad cases, and iPhone screen protector. They quickly took care of my purchases and that was an easy transaction. They however were not so good at putting on my iPhone screen protector. The kit comes with 2 screen protectors and they wasted one and the one which was on my phone wasn't on that great as well. read more

Very friendly attentive staff, even when the place is super packed they try to take care of everyone. My Macbook was having problems and they took it right away without questions and had it back from service in exactly 14 days like they quoted me. Last month the power cord stopped working and they replaced it without question and even overnighted a new cord to my house when they didn't have any in stock. F.Y.I. This Apple Store has moved to the Food Court area of Oakridge Mall. I came to this location to replace my severely damaged Virgin Mobile iPhone 5. I did not have an appointment and had to wait 30 mins to be helped which is expected for not making an appointment, but this was an emergency and the only appointment they had was for Saturday, today was Wednesday. So I get helped by a young lady and it's obvious I will need a replacement. She gets the replacement and says I might need a new SIM Card. Sure enough, she came to the conclusion that I needed a new SIM Card. Keep in mind I have Virgin Mobile which runs off Sprints towers, she gave me a Sprint SIM. I've had a Sprint SIM before so I didn't think anything of it. We try to get the new SIM to work and it will not budge. So she tells me she can not call Virgin Mobile to activate my phone? Last year I had to get a replacement for a firmware issue, I went to Valley Fair to get the replacement and they DID activate my phone through Virgin Mobile over the phone, so I do no understand why she told me she could not. I know it's a hassle to call the company but come on, this is your job, your pay, and your customer. Anyway, she tells me I need to go to Sprint with the new iPhone that is stuck on a basic start up mode. So I go to Sprint and they tell me she gave me an incompatible SIM Card. They advise me to go back to Apple and get my old SIM. I got to Apple at 5pm.. I got to Sprint at 6:30pm.. At 7:10 I am now headed back to Apple once again. The girl that helped me was not there anymore. I received help from a young man named Matt. FINALLY someone who was willing to do the work and push the phone company to work with me and the issues we were having. He got me pass the start up mode and into the actual phone. Something I am sure the other girl could have done. It turns out all the time wasted from the previous visit, cause me to delay my phone activation because Virgin Mobile Customer Service Hotline closes at 8pm. By 8pm we had barely got into the phone and were unable to proceed with the process. Now I will need to go to Virgin Mobile to finish the rest of this issue later this week. But at least now I have a phone I can use on WiFi for now, the way the previous girl left my phone would have left me with nothing but a frozen screen. All in all I would have gave a lower rating but Matt was very helpful in the end even though were cut short on time. I am sure if I went to him in the beginning I would have had this whole this situated in one visit without having to see Sprint and run around back and fourth from the mall and back! After standing patiently watching all the other sales reps ask everyone else around me if they needed help. I finally got someone to talk to me after 10 minutes in regards to my MAC PRO BOOK. Ham (customer service rep) did a great job in pin pointing all the problems with my MPB, got it replaced and sent back to me in 5 days. They did great to answer all my annoying questions of what is this and why is this and what is better. BUT...I was pretty annoyed about being ignored!! read more

I LOVE all things Apple! I love this store. Excellent customer service everytime I come here I'm always greeted and asked if I need any help the moment I walk in. The employees are awesome and always helpful. A long while back, my hard drive crashed on my MacBook (my fault for continuously leaving it on day and night). I scheduled an appointment online at the Genius bar and came in 10 minutes early. Although it was really busy that day, the employee was able to troubleshoot any problems, retrieve all my files and replaced my hard drive for free ( thank you Apple Care)! More recently, I was pushing my daughter in her stroller and wanted to buy a bumper for my phone (this was before Steve Jobs announced he would be giving out free bumpers). The store was jam packed and there was no way I could weed through the parade of customers with my humongous BOB stroller. A kind employee noticed my dilemma and brought 2 different colors of bumpers to the front of the store where I was waiting. I bought my bumper, received my receipt, and no toes needed to be crushed in the process. read more

When the Macbook Air came out, the fiancee suddenly decided he simply had to get one. Really smart idea, considering the thing had only been on the market for less than one month. After calling around to some of the Apple stores, the one in Oakridge said they had a few in stock. Right after work, the fiancee and I raced to Oakridge to try to pick one up before they were all gone. The staff there was pretty incompetent. Both the fiancee and I wanted to apply for a credit line, and the girl who helped us was apparently new (or she said.. I've used that same line to try to get out of sticky situations, too). She was having problems getting the credit application to load (I am still against applying for a credit line on public computers!), and she asked for her manager to help out. Sadly, the manager didn't know much more than the "new" girl. In the end, only the fiancee got a Macbook Air. All it took was two Apple Store reps and two hours of our life. read more

As mentioned by other reviews, this store lacks in the customer service department. We were checked in and then waited 20 mins to be attended, which would be fine if other customers weren't approached by employees and informed of their waiting times and chatted with while we stood around and got ignored. Multiple employees made eye contact with me and sheepishly looked around. Eventually we were approached by Jessica. She came up with zero regard, didn't ask how we were doing and stared at us as if she were under the influence of something. Eventually as we were waiting for my trade-in device to charge, she walks away and starts chatting with her coworkers. Extremely rude and unprofessional behavior from Jessica. Another employee named Joe went up to her and the other employee and asked her why we were waiting. He sent her back to us and helped with the process of getting the IMEI from the other device. Overall, she left a foul impression and this reflects poorly on the store. I don't know who hired her but they need to be more cautious with who they hire next time. Made an appointment for tech support and they did not see me for almost an hour after the fact. When I went to pick up the computer they brought me the wrong one and then took awhile to find mine. However, the people that worked at the store were friendly and when I called they were helpful in trying to get my computer repaired. . Came in for an odd cosmetic issue on my computer yesterday, 12/21/17. The genius associate was very kind, but had limited knowledge so we ended up in a pow-wow with the "lead genius" guy. It was quite a roundabout conversation where they weren't open to effectively addressing the flaws in their solution. At one point, the lead genius guy seemed to think I was trying to "return" my computer after a year, even though I explicitly wanted a comprehensive fix to the cosmetic issue. This was when he raised his voice, was very firm in telling me I wasn't getting an (unrequested by me) return for my item and got red in the face. I diffused the situation by speaking quieter, explaining that I wasn't trying to return it because the computer itself is fine, and trying another method to describe my issue with their lackluster solution. This prompted a more thorough response of the repair process and all parties seemed satisfied. Overall, the service was good but the suddenly hostile demeanor of the lead genius guy was off-putting and unprofessional, especially since he wasn't met with any hostility or raised voice from me. I was just having a conversation and wanted my question answered rather than being forced to accept a boxed soultion. It wasn't a quick one-and-done conversation, but that doesn't mean professionalism should suffer as a result. Associates should be diffusing situations with customers, not the other way around. read more

Not the first time I've been practically blow off before. I've come in with general questions and I feel I'm being treated as an idiot. I went in to see how to clean my Mac up because my Mac was telling me my hard disk drive was full or getting full. So I went to get it cleaned up and delete down. First guy I saw completely rude. Rolls his eyes looks at me after every question as if it's an issue. Than today when I go to wipe my computer clean the second guy is either super tired or doesn't like his job. While my computer is restarting I make small talk and say, " must be fun working here" response was quiet and shrugs his shoulders. I'm sorry I came to see what was wrong with my computer and go to the place I'm suppose to. It's just like the Guinness bar doesn't wanna be there or work. I was extremely impressed by the customer service we got from Alec. Not only is he knowledgeable about Apple's products, he also has the patience of a saint. We wanted to upgrade our iPhones and he answered every question we had about the models we were interested in. We chose our phones... and then the Bermuda triangle of technology began. It took two trips, a lot of perseverance and about 3.5 hrs trying to get our phones set up due to issues with our cellular carrier as well as Apple's system. Alec went above and beyond! He tried everything in his arsenal to get through the issues - apologizing often for problems out of his control and coming up with ideas to make it all work. Then, he was super patient while we struggled with updating our phone plans with our cellular carrier. He even worked through his lunch break to make sure we got what we wanted. I loved this store when they assisted me back on April 2017 with my iPhone 6 ( they bought it back from me since it was in great condition ;0) ), and on November 2017 with my ancient iPad 3 ( they got it working again), and I still love going to this one. My favorite apple store. It's a lot smaller than most stores, but it's close to home, and they always have stock! I came in here last August, because they were THE ONLY ones who had the iPhone 4g at the time. I was there again in November to pick up my new Mac Book Pro, and that was great. I can't remember who helped me (sorry) but he was super nice, and super understanding when my credit card wouldn't go through. I had recently canceled the purchase of the laptop online and had to call the credit card company to fix it. He was totally chill, totally patient, and friendly the entire way through. But then again, we walked in already knowing what to buy, and was his easiest transaction of the day! I went in again yesterday to pick up an iPhone for myself. Another smooth and great purchase. She offered to switch over my contacts (I guess they didn't offer that before), and was super nice and cracking jokes with us. I went in to seek service with my iPhone here once and I was not pleased with how we were serviced. For whatever reason some of the employees are only able to do so much (scratch). I had gotten my parents a new iPad mini as a present and for some reason it was refusing to sync with any computer (including my Mac). We had scheduled an appointment here and even brought a laptop to try to see if it will work. I guess we choose a busy day to go because we had to wait over 20 minutes past our appointment time because the Genius Bar was running late. It wasn't too bad at first since we had some shopping we wanted to get done. However, after coming back, they still were not ready. When we finally got to talking to someone, the person was extremely rude. Not once did he tell us his name and the whole time he seemed as if he just wanted to be done with us and move onto someone else. After spending 30 minutes, he did not have not have an answer for us and just left to help the next customer. It is a cramped little store compared to all other ones I have been to. The parking is also insanely hard to find. If you can avoid this Apple store, you should. read more

Dear Yelp Journal, I received, assistance regarding my iphone 5 button malfunction. i recently purchased it from the apple online store, and had it for 2 days.I told him I wanted a new phone, an exchange. I was told that it was the button, which had to be replaced. I waited for 30 minutes, perused the ipads, and gadgets. Then when the person came back, the button did not work. It was the phone itself which he deemed a "lemon". I had to wait another 45 minutes. I understand these things happen, but please don't tell me to wait 10-15 min, take 30 min, return, and tell me another 15 minutes, when it became 45 more min. read more

Genius on the phone said that they would take my $4000 Mac needing repairs as a walk-in with our corporate reach - around plan. There was no reach-around. Genius said after a while that they were actually moving shops and we're pretty incompetent at the moment to even begin to diagnose the computer within 48 hrs. Genius told me to call other Mac stores to find out if they could take my failing mac because he couldn't do it on his iPad. Geniuses here wasted my time and we're unable to handle anything related to service or communication. Genius. read more

Dominic helped me choose a Macbook Pro 13" (base model) for my girlfriend and I to use for office apps, watching movies/TV, and music. He provided a very useful comparative analysis with the Macbook Air that ultimately showed me that the screen on the Macbook Pro 13" was actually better looking (higher dynamic range) than the washed out Macbook Air screen, something I wouldn't have figured out just from looking at the tech specs. I also bought AppleCare and Office for Mac 2011. My issue with this purchase was that Mac Office 2011 home and student edition doesn't come with Outlook (or Entourage, since it was phased out in 2011). This was not brought to my attention at purchase, and I should have asked more questions about the product. Microsoft does have an academic version of Office that does have Outlook and is $50 cheaper, but it is NOT sold by the Apple Store, for some reason. I did get to return it after explaining my situation, but the store manager gave me store credit rather than a refund as a compromise, since Apple has a policy of not accepting open box software returns. Bottom line: Great service at this store with satisfying and understanding managers, but the few holes in a specialist's knowledge of the products can cause headaches for the customer. read more
