Today I had a Genius Bar appointment for my iPhone SE, which I purchased from Apple online last year. It shut down and I couldn't get it restarted. When the store opened at 10 am (the time of my appointment), a lovely young woman (whose name I didn't get) led me to the area of the store for people with technical issues with their devices, with or without appointments. Within 5 minutes Mateo came over (I believe he helped me when I purchased my iPhone 8 in June 2018 but I can't find the Yelp review about it). He was extremely helpful and friendly, and was able to restart my iPhone SE within minutes. The SE is a less expensive version of the usual iPhone with fewer features and I was trying to save money by purchasing it last August, but I decided to explore my options for an upgrade to the iPhone 14. Mateo said someone else would come over to show me my options, and within a minute Jenny (who appears to be the store manager) came over, and showed me the options I had, and the amount for my SE trade-in. I decided to go ahead and upgrade to the 14 and the entire experience was quick and easy. Jenny is the BEST! She walked me through all the steps to transfer the data to the new phone, and explained the entire process as we progressed through it. She treated me with respect and friendliness and care and was genuinely happy to meet and help me. This is something that cannot be taught. She is the kind of person the world needs more of, and I told her that when I was leaving. I don't know why this store has such low Yelp ratings, because I received an excellent customer experience! I highly recommend this store and Mateo and Jenny, and hope you will check them out. read more

During Covid operation hours: Horrible customer service! Everyone here seemed to be taking their precious time and dragging their feet! I was next in line and the person in front of me was returning something but apparently paid cash for it and was waiting to receive cash back for her return. I was standing there, hot asf in the mall and it didn't help that I was wearing my mask... As I observed, it took about 15-20 minutes for someone to come out from the back to give the Apple support rep money for the refund. Then, it took about 25 minutes to get that cash to the customer. Why? Because in between, there was about 5 people counting the cash each time. It wasn't like a stack of bills! It looked like no more than $6-700. Not sure why it would take a village to count that. When my turn came.. the guy that helped me wasn't friendly or welcoming either. Anyway... my point is they were taking their sweet ass time and might I add, there was a whole bunch of Apple workers just moping around the store while the line grew. Seems like Apple will hire anyone these days... the quality of Apple support and customer service here has tanked. read more

I recently took my laptop into this store to have it repaired under apple care, the first day I went I got there about 20 minutes early, and they couldn't take me in that early, the earliest you can arrive is 5 minutes before your appointment. The Genius who helped me was very helpful, and had me in and out very quickly. When I can to pick up my computer a few days later, I came in on 10/2/2022 right when the store opened, the greeter at the front was helpful told me to go to the back and someone would be right with me. I sat in the back for 35 minutes, with my ID ready, and out on the counter, I finally broke, and just raised my hand and said "I've been sitting here for 35 minutes and was told someone would be right with me, 35 minutes ago. Shortly there after someone came to help me, the whole interaction took less than 2 minutes. Do better apple. The apple store used to be really awesome, I feel like they have lowered their quality of customer service in the last 5 years or so. read more

OLD STUFF ON DISPLAY (read if you're planning to purchase a MAC) After a couple years of purchasing our two MacBooks. We realized the MacBooks we purchased WERE OUT OF DATE!!!!! We purchased a MacBook in 2018 and 2016 and you guessed it right, both MacBooks were a year older. I purchased both these MacBooks right after the launch of the "current new" macbooks. One was $2,400 and the other $1,700. I can't believe we got scammed at the apple store.. So for anyone buying MacBooks, etc, please double check or you'll get scammed as well. So disappointed.. I walked in the store with my husband to look at the Vision Pro display. Upon entering, we started to look at one of the two Vision Pros on display, touching the headband and rim to feel the material. A staff member quickly walked up, put her hand between mine and the device and said in a condescending tone with a laugh not to touch the device. She noted I could have a demo if I wanted to look at the device. She said it's an expensive and delicate headset. It was weird to hear an Apple Store employee act the way she did. I politely apologized and noted there was no sign stating not to touch the devices. Apple staff encouraged product exploration products in the past, so I was unaware the Vision Pros on display were not to be touched. We decided to leave because the experience was so offputting. As we left the staff member returned to the table she was at with other staff and all of them glanced back at us and we're laughing with big smiles on their face. It crossed into the realm of a bullying. We've never had an experience like this shopping at other Apple Stores, Valley Fair, Los Gatos, and Palo Alto. read more

The employees here are very quick and friendly when you're making purchases here. Even during the holidays when they can be run ragged with all the customers making last minute holiday stops. The employee was very knowledgeable and let me use my student discount for my sisters purchase, which I really appreciate. read more

I have always been happy with all my Apple products and the customer service I have received when I shop at this Apple Store. Today, is the beginning of the end for me. I received a watch band for Christmas. My receipt was dated 12/22/23. I admit I took awhile to decide to exchange my watch band. When I finally made it to the store, they would not exchange my watch band. They said that my receipt said I had til 1/08/24 to exchange it. That's only 2 weeks! Really! I talked to the manager, but he would not accept even an exchange. Now I'm stuck with a watch band that I don't want or need. This experience shows that Apple no longer cares about their customers. Customer service and experience was so bad I ended up walking out and having them cancel my $2500 purchased. I don't recommend this location. I have to express my gratitude to every single member of your apple crew... or is it apple core? Hm, food for thought. Anyways, I went in early and didn't have an appointment so they scheduled one for the afternoon. My left AirPod was charging but wouldn't connect so they ran a diagnostic check on it and ultimately replaced the left under warranty and communicated the entire process. I had a few errands to run so I reentered the store at least 4 times and every single person was so drop of the hat helpful. I brought my iPhone in to be looked at because it was stuck on a boot loop. I didn't know that you have to have an appointment for a specialist to look at it and it was a 3 hour wait. I made the appointment and returned when it was my turn. Ok, so I really wish I could remember the name of the guy that assisted me because he really went above and beyond to insure my phone was going to be fixed. We had to restore it but I was essentially still locked out, he didn't give up and even stayed to work on it through his lunch. I was elated that he figured it out because I really didn't want to fork out the money for a brand new phone. I had the worst experience Ive ever had purchasing an Apple product. Ive been buying Apple since 1984, and have been buying iPhones since the iPhone one. The salesperson that I got to help my wife and I renew our phones had no idea what he was doing. Constantly went to others to ask for help. Kept coming back with yet another idea that didn't work. And when we got sick of it we asked for our phones back, he said they were fine, and my wife's and my phone were bricked before we got halfway home. Luckily ATT had a competent person that got our phones back online. Ive had good service a oakridge in the past, but not today. Seems like this location literally has 50/50 reviews on either having superb or horrible customer service. Let me just say how grateful I am to have had the superb service here. I originally made an appointment a couple days before because I couldn't fix my rear camera at another mobile store through apple, so they told me I had to go to the actual apple store. Check-in process was quick, and we waited not too long for our tech to come help us. I explained to him what was wrong with my camera after having it diagnosed at another phone store. He ended up saying the same thing that it was a hardware problem and that I needed a new phone. They didn't have any in stock at this location, so he called over to valley fair apple store and asked them to hold the phone for me to swap them out. Visited store multiple times to plan the timing of my enterprise laptop under corporate service with Apple stores. After confirmation that part is available and reserved, and they would return it at the end of long weekend, they suddenly change the date when I visit with appointment to drop off!!! If I could give this place a zero I would but apparently I have to give it a one star to be able to leave a review. I came in for assistance with my iPhone at the direction of Apple customer care. My phone was still under warranty and having issues. Customer care told me I could have the phone replaced in store if the problem was the result of a hardware issue, but they would have to run diagnostics to be sure. After the employees at the store confirmed my phone had a hardware problem, I was told the phone would be sent out for repair and I could use a loaner phone in the meantime. I had simply tried to explain what the customer care representative told me about the replacement and the employee in the store rudely interrupted me and said that under no circumstances would they be exchanging my phone. After getting nowhere trying to explain my frustration with being told different things in the store and on the phone, I was interrupted and again.. literally told.. "Okay, I'm gonna stop you right there.. We're not gonna replace your phone today." I cannot imagine where this person was trained to talk to a customer like this. Eventually a manager came over and nicely explained things. I got my phone back and left the store. As I was almost out of the mall, I realized the employee conveniently "forgot" to put back my SIM card! I'll be avoiding the Oakridge Apple Store from now on and will go to Valleyfair - the people there provide much better service and don't talk down to me. read more

Apple is a disgraceful company and should be ashamed Of themselves. My Apple Watch screen popped open (see pic) because of a manufacturing defect where the battery swelled and pushed the screen out. This is a known reported issue that Apple admits but refuse to take accountability and offer to fix it. Apple is charging $250 to repair it despite being their fault. When vehicle manufacturers have faults on their models they do free recalls to fix them but not Apple. All they care is about making profit. I paid around $500 originally and it now sells for around$200 so it is cheaper to buy a new one then to have it fixed. Very silly of Apply who continue to rip consumers off. I would not be surprised if a consumer court case arrises in the future. read more

These guys are awesome, last time I bought an Apple TV I had totally forgotten about an hdmi cord since it doesn't include one. Keep in mind with Covid you have to wait in line which it wasn't long or as bad as some other locations. Anyways I went back and because I didn't want to be rude I stood at the back of the line, and the gentleman that helped me earlier saw me and walked over and asked why I was back in line. Told him about the hdmi situation and looks around and asks everyone in a polite manner if they wouldn't mind if he let me back in the store because of my situation and they all responded nicely and was able to get the hdmi cord with great ease. Apple's online scheduling allows getting a precise appointment. For some reason, Once arriving, however, Apple doesn't allow checking in with an employee early; only 5 minutes before one's appointment. Parking at Oakridge is fairly easy and still free, if parking at the rear of the mall, near Macy's. Navigating the mall is a bit difficult with few maps within the mall. Apple's store has moved over the years and is now very close to the food court and theater entrance (1st floor). It doesn't hurt that it's the closest Apple Store to my house, even though I've even driven all the way out to the Los Gatos store, rather than Valley Fair mall, at times. read more

My left AirPod pro wasn't working at all, so I paid a visit to the Apple store to see what could be done. Cathy/Kathy found that it was malfunctioning and was also having trouble charging. I was 9 days past the 1 year warranty, so the standard fee to replace it would have been $89. I politely commented that it was so close to the warranty expiration and that from a consumer perspective this is the nightmare you don't want and asked if there was anything that could be done. I was fully expecting the $2.5 trillion gorilla that is Apple to disallow any kind of leeway and tell me FOH (not to blame Cathy since I fully understand she can only do so much), but much to my surprise, Cathy was so kind and tried to see what she could do. She was able to get me a replacement! I don't know if it's a sign of the times or if I'm just cynical, but I am genuinely amazed when any kind of empathy is shown these days. Technically, by the letter of the law, I should have had to pay for repair of or a new left AirPod, but that Cathy (and also Apple) were able to show some compassion to the consumer leaves me feeling high on Apple and the people who work there and listen to our problems each and every day. I've been coming to this location of Apple ever since it first opened in Westfield Oakridge Mall. The shop isn't the largest but I've always experienced good customer service when I've stopped by to shop for Apple products. My most recent visit occurred in December. On Christmas Day, I accidentally dropped my iPhone 6+ and it hit the ground and the glass display shattered. Made an appointment with the Genius Bar. Dropped off my phone and picked it up in 60 minutes. My iPhone 6+ screen was replaced and looking brand new. Excellent customer service from Chris!!! Originally I went to the Genuis Apple in LG. The figured out that had an antenna problem but had the rear back system and they send to Oakridge. A week later Oakridge replaced the system but it didn't fix the problem. You know what happened next? Apple invoice system didn't have records of the diagnostic they performed at LG and then didn't have records of the new rear system replacement Oakridge Apple did. The Apple Genuis doesn't even know how to store their own records per customer. I'm totally lost, both Apple stores left me hanging. 1 yr and extended Apple Care means nothing if they aren't going to fix a $1200 iPhone 13 Pro! Both Apple stores have zero standards and aren't intellectually capable of running Apple's consumer operations. And even worse goes for the Genius Techs! They act like they're highly educated and try to talk the talk about hardware, software, firmware, diagnostic, etc... Please you can't fool me. I'm a real electrical engineer not one of those failures that work at an Apple Store with other employees with purple blue dreadlocks hair wearing Croc sandals and not on the corporate side! read more

I went to the Apple store about a month ago to do a trade in for my 2013 MacBook Pro for the MacBook Air. The lady appraised by trade in and quoted $70. I wasn't too thrilled for the value but accepted it. She said that I could ship my device once I got my new laptop. When I shipped out my trade in, the factory changed the value to $20. I was frustrated that they changed their minds. I canceled the trade in and got it back. I just went back to the Apple store to get the $70 that they originally quoted and then after they appraised it said that it was worth nothing at this point. I'm so frustrated and upset that they didn't tell me that the value would change. They basically robbed me. If anyone is reading this please learn from my lesson and trade in your devices when the appraise it the first time. read more

Guy in the front, couldn't see his name tag, but his name started with a G (I think Gustavo, Guillermo, or something long like that..) was super helpful delegating the task to someone for technical assistance. First off, my phone is fine, but the cord wasn't charging my phone. Since the iPhone 5 hasn't been out long, it is still under warranty and I needed another cord. I came here before when my sleep button wasn't working. G kindly directed me towards Alessandra, the store manager, who took down information like my name, email address, and the serial number of the phone under Settings * General * "About" section. After taking down my information, she had asked me to wait so she could talk to the technician in the back room or to see who is available to help her. I didn't think you needed a technician, but whatever helps me right? I waited for a good 7-8 minutes or so and she came out with the cord and I was ready to go. Quick, efficient, and friendly. Apple straight up Lied and Tried to overcharge me. If your phone is over a year old take it a good repair shop like Phone Repair Shack on 1417 Foxworthy Ave, San Jose (408) 908-0247 Yes, it's in a Liquor Store, but Mike really does do go work. Don't judge a book by its cover. On 9/28/22 I noticed that me iPhone 12 Pro was strangely asking for my password. I entered it in, but then notice that after 3 minutes my iPhone had rebooted suddenly. It just kept rebooting after 3 minutes continuously draining the battery and preventing me from do anything. I tried resetting the phone and clearing the cache. I also deleted any new apps that I had download with the last two days just in case. None of that worked. I made an appointment at the Apple Store in the Oakridge Mall for 12:40pm so they could diagnose the issue and fix my phone since this appeared to be a hardware issue that should be covered by Apple. I got to the store a little early at 12:10pm, but noticed that there was a large group of employees and apple technicians bored and not doing anything. So, I let them know that I was here for a 12:40 appointment and want to see if they could see me now since they were clearly free, but they told me they could only see me at 5 minutes before my appointment. That was the first big red flag, lazy staff that just don't care. So calmly waited until 12:35pm, but now they were busy and had to keep waiting until about 12:50pm. I explained my issue and the technician looked at some logs for two seconds and said that the logic board was going bad and that I would need to replace it. He said it cost $600 to replace, but I explain to him that it should be free to replace because this was a manufacture's defect then and not something caused by misuse. He said that their warrantee only covers the iPhone for 1 year unless I bought Apple Care. So, apparently you have to pay for Apple to do the right thing. He claimed that the reason the repair cost so much is because they had to open the back of the phone to access the logic board. Coming from IT background I knew that was a lie, I've seen iPhone 12 Pro tear downs online. Apple should have covered any hardware repair if it was a faulty logic board given this would have been a manufacturer defect. I would have upgraded if they offered me the same deal AT&T was offering for a trade in on an iPhone 12 Pro 256GB, which was $700 credit. They only offered $450. I had a backup iPhone 10, so I swapped the SIM card, so I would have a working phone. So, I took my phone to a qualified repair place that came highly recommended. They actually looked at my phone. They explained that they thought it was probably the speaker and the cable that went with it and the risks involved in changing it. I said okay to the repairs and he ordered the parts. 3 days later I had a perfectly repaired phone and the Face ID was still working, which can be a risk with this type of repair if someone isn't as skilled. Very reasonably priced ($40) repair for quality workmanship where as Apple wanted to charge me $600 for something that wasn't wrong. They sound like one of those predatory car repair places that prey on the uninformed and take advantage of women. I feel really bad because while I was there was 4 other people with the same issue. You need a smart phone now a days, but Apple is taking advantage of people and ripping them off. So Apple lied to me about what was wrong or their staff isn't trained very well. Then lied to me about what was involved in fixing it, then were going to overhcarge me for a repair I didn't need. All they wanted to do was get me to either pay for an overpriced repair or buy a "new" iPhone to make them a profit. I'm just disgusted with Apple and their policies. They sent me a questionnaire about their service I received and I was brutally honest. It seems more focused on if they talked to me about Apple TV and Corporate services they offer. As the IT director for my company I don't think I can recommend Apple products like I used to. A manager called me back, but didn't really seem concerned about Apple's lack product integrity. I explain that I bought their Flagship phone and for it to fail or have issues given the price I paid was absurd and that Apple should repair this type of thing for free like they've done in the past. read more

I've had nothing but great service at this Apple Store. Had an appointment to get my Mac desktop looked at and was well taken care of. I left it overnight to reinstall the OS and they called because they needed additional information (which was on me, not them) and they were very patient. It did take a couple of days rather than overnight as I was told, but that ended up working out better with my schedule and it was well worth it because my Mac is running fast and smooth again! Noel was great! He was accommodating, patient, VERY knowledgeable, and most importantly, helpful! My phone was broken forever, with no solution, not even Verizon could fix. Within a half hour of being at the store, I was grinning from ear to ear! Noel and one other lady who was not my technician but was very helpful as well, were able to locate the problem and offer me a solve-all solution. Best apple experience I've had. He said he's been working there for like 6 years and maybe wants to move up soon, so I hope this review can help in any way at all! 10/10 experience bc of him alone read more
