I tried to telephone this store to set an appointment to have my iPhone battery replaced. After going through 4 minutes of automated menus, I ended up speaking to an Apple support person in another part of the country. She was not able to help, because she had no information as to whether the Oakridge store would have the correct battery in stock, so she tried for 14 minutes to connect me to them. She said that they answered and immediately hung up on her three times. I finally gave up. One star only because it's not possible to rate them lower. This is an incredibly tiny Apple Store, made worse by the fact that no one does anything when people bring in strollers ---I actually saw a woman push in one of those HUUUUGE models in, not watching where she was going and almost clock an employee in the groin with the sippy cup holder. Even worse are shopping carts---people actually push shopping carts through this store! No excuse for either. I don't know why Target doesn't install devices to prevent their carts from being brought to other stores, or leaving their store in the first place. The air conditioning isn't always on, either.People leaving their kids here to "play" while they shop doesn't help, either. On the plus side, the employees are very friendly and knowledgeable, and if they are not busy they can show you a thing or 2 about how the devices work. it is easy to try out the computers and tablets here to see how they work.They seem to be fast here; not sure if the wi-fi is fast here ir it's the computers. read more

My girlfriend and I went into the store hoping to replace our iPhones because our batteries weren't lasting very long and plus mines was acting really slow. And to also purchase the Apple Care Plan. I waited about 20 minutes to be serviced at the Genius Bar and was helped by Marc. I told him what problems I had and first thing he said was, "well you have a full battery now" with major attitude and was pretty smug about it. It had a full battery because I just charged it. We argued about it a little but and at that point I figured this guy isn't going to budge and let me replace my phone.He then went on and said to keep my iPhone working fast and the battery lasting long I would have to restore my phone once a month and not use my back up! I mean wth is that....I'm pretty sure Apple wouldn't sell an item that you would have to restore every single month just to keep it working and the battery lasting normally. And then he goes on to compare the iPhone to a computer saying after a year you would probably restore it because of viruses or what not. But your not going to be restoring your computer every month right? I guess he figured I was probably trying to scam him or something which I really wasn't. I love the iPhone. Plus I wouldn't have bought the Apple Care if I was trying to scam the guy. I work at Best buy and sell iPhones. I wouldn't sell a product I wouldn't think is really good. He just made me think the iPhone isn't worth it now. I will not be returning to this location. read more

And I made reservations for this? I had to register then reserve and confirm my spot for my Apple workshop. I arrived and the store was crowded. I was seated in the folding chair in front of the store ,not in it. I looked into the store and remarked to my fellow student,"this looks more like I -crowd not iCloud"our instructor arrived with some chairs in hand and directed us to the middle of the mall next to the kiosk where they sell all the accessories for Apple. Our workshop took place in the middle of the mall in front of the Raiders store. Shoppers were all about looking at us like we were spectacles. Jason our teacher took out the iPad and started to work on it and I couldn't believe he was serious, this WAS our classroom. I had to stop Jason during the class and ask if they could turn down the awful mall music that was blaring over his voice. The mall music ,the shoppers chattering ,as if that wasn't bad enough. now a customer at the kiosk and the clerk are talking very loudly over our class to get the sale done. It seems we were interrupting the sale. I tried to block out all the noise , The uncomfortable chair and the awkward stares. But Jason seem to be without any type of lesson plan or format. There was no form of instruction ,this was a question and answer. I asked about how to print and Mr. Applehead interrupted with, I want to know where the free books are. I asked questions about the functions of the iPad. The teacher completely ignored my questions to answer Mr. Applehead question of how do I get Netflix this? Mr. Applehead went on to ask questions about his iMac and his iPhone. Keep in mind this is a workshop for the iPad. Not once did Jason stop Mr. Applehead to say maybe you should save that question for a one-on-one appointment. This workshop should've been called Mr. Applehead vacation. How do I get Wi-Fi in Mexico? Will my iPhone sync with my iTablet to make phone calls. I hear that they don't get faxes down there. How can I do that.? I still can't get Netflix on this. Then Jason says well The time is about up so I have one question left. Of course Mr. Applehead thinks it's okay for him to blurt out what's the exchange rate between the peso and the dollar. By then I had it I was fuming! I wanted to know about Suri . Since Mr. Applehead was anxious to learn about Suri also Jason obliged him by asking Suri the exchange rate question. I snapped and suggested Mr. Applehead do a one-on-one tutorial. Realizing what a desperate waste of time this was I asked Jason quickly ,what about the other workshops? when will they be available? when I tried to register for more workshops there were none that were being offered. Jason explained to me that they were no longer having workshops until the beginning of the year . all staff will be focused on customer sales through the rest of the holidays instead of workshops. I then protested then how am I supposed to learn anything now? Mr. Applehead imposed in the conversation by saying "oh yes I do have one on one, I purchased it with my sons Apple phone ,you know I must have at least 15 Apple devices"so what did that workshop teach me? That Mr. Applehead will be going to Mexico without any faxes, and could not find Netflix because he spelled it Netflick. That in no manner shape or form was Jason trained to be a teacher. That Apple had no strategy to teach a workshop nor any place to have it at. Apple showed me that once you've made a purchase your customer service needs are not their priority. Making as many sales as possible is their priority. Good luck becoming an Apple user ...especially if you're a first time Apple owner. The pretentious Uber Apple heads might let you get in a question provided that you made it through the gauntlet into the store. But the answer will probably be ,buy a different app or buy a new device. Just don't expect Apple to teach you how to use it in an actual classroom or a building with four walls. Hopefully Apple will finally get some real instructors and not Ex game stop employees. What a lemon you are Apple. Such a rotten apple. read more

I usually have great service at ALL the Apples stores I frequent, however this visit was not one of them. I went to return a damaged cord that stopped working due to the poorly designed item, when the person stated I need to make an appointment for another day I requested to speak with the supervisor. At this time he refers to me as "BRO". When I asked if he called me BRO he said, excuse me "Sir". I then questioned what motivated him to refer to me like with that and it had no answer. As he shared with her my request, they were both laughing and she made her way over to me. Needless to say I had to purchase a new cord, but my question as to why would he call me BRO was never addressed. Maybe due to the fact that I am African American. This is def. my Apple Store of choice! The people at this store are super down to earth (unlike the super stressed out employees at the Valley Fair location), and they ALWAYS help me out quickly and efficiently. Whenever I ask for product recommendations they take the time to provide me with great service and give me excellent suggestions. I am not sure if they run on commission, but they always help me get the best product for my price range and never push me to get the most expensive product. As an apple lover (2 apple computers, an iphone, bunch of software etc), I always feel comfy going here because I know they will gladly answer all my questions, and when valley fair turned down my defective iphone (they couldnt "See" a problem), the oakridge store ran a diagnostic and found that it was indeed a problem with my phone... one that, of course, you could not see on the outside of the phone... as most of the important stuff is located inside. I was extremely disappointed by my first Genius Bar experience. I made my appointment and arrived about 5 minutes late. When I arrived I approached two employees who were chatting. When I talked to them, they stated that they couldn't help me and directed me to another employee who was busy assisting another customer. Once she finally helped me (the two other employees continued their social chatter), I was checked in and told to wait. I waited almost 30 minutes for my genius to arrive. When he arrived he did some quick diagnostics, not saying anything to me then said "yup, it's a hardware problem". He then started talking to another "genius" and proceeded to have a 10 minute long inside joke that I did not understand and involved a 30 mile long Ethernet cable. Once they finished their joke the 2nd guy finally typed in my serial number then walked away. A few minutes passed and finally I asked my genius guy what was going on. He was busy fidgeting with another computer. He told me that the computer was "thinking". A few more minutes passed and then he handed me a piece of paper. I said "what's this?" He replied that it was my work order. Apparently my screen needed to be replaced. I asked how long it would take and he said he didn't know. It "depended", but would likely be 3-5 days. I asked how they would contact me and he said "email or phone", but didn't bother to confirm my contact info. 90 minutes later (at 10pm) I got a phone call that my laptop was ready on my home phone. Also, they cracked my case trying to get it off and didn't even apologize! Also have to mention that while I was waiting I was amazed by the vast number of employees not doing any work, but chatting with each other. I have never been so disappointed by a customer service experience and will never return to the Oakridge Apple Store. read more

I really hate this place. It's so close to my house, so I always tend to come here, but today was for sure the last time I will ever come here. I get there at 2:30PM and my appointment is at 2:40PM. They tell me that many people called in sick and there will be a bit of wait. Alright, i'll wait. I waited for about 10 minutes and someone first came and grabbed my serial number. I waited another 15 minutes and someone came to check out my phone and confirm that my power button was stuck, which is a known defect on iPhone 5 and they are repairing them for free. He then goes and tells me that I have a little scratch or something on the bottom right of my screen and that they will not be able to repair the phone. This scratch they are referring to is internal and not on the surface and is to the right of the home button, so it's not even on the display. They go and tell me that the screen can break if we try to open the phone. Umm, no it won't. I just changed my battery like 2 months ago with no problems. Anyways, there technicians are honestly not that knowledgeable, because I spoke to manager as well and they refused to send in my phone. In the end of the day, fine and rule is a rule and I'll live with it, but I am really just frustrated that I wasted about 40 minutes at the store doing absolutely nothing, when the first person who looked at my phone could have just told me that it's not going to work out. I just experienced one of my worst customer experiences at an Apple Store. I have an older Mac laptop that has been having some mouse issues. Rather than buying a computer, I was hoping to just get the keyboard and mouse replaced. I didn't to the Apple Store to get it looked at. The technician who looked at my computer walked out and did a double take at my computer like he was shocked to see it. I know it's old, and it's not the prettiest laptop, but it still works. he doesn't smile at me or knowledge me, and then after talking to another technician for 5-10 minutes, finally looks in my direction and asks if I'm the person he supposed to be helping. He never smiled once the entire time we had our interaction. He then told me that because my computer was more than seven years old, they wouldn't be able to replace the part that I needed and would have to take it to a third party to fix it. Silence for a minute. Since he didn't offer the information so I had to ask if he could give me the contact information for third-party vendor to fix it. He gave me information for third-party but also told me that they might I'll be able to get it fixed either. I asked if it was possible for me to get information on what part I need it exactly in case a third-party couldn't fix it. He said "I'm sorry, we don't provide that information, it's not a consumer or installable part." I asked "What about people who know someone who works on computers?" He just said "Sorry, we don't provide that information." If the technician had perhaps smiled, or been sympathetic at all to my problem, I might have felt better about this interaction but I left feeling like I was written off because my problem wasn't his problem since they had no responsibility to fix a computer over 7 years old. If I had been someone less proactive, I feel like he would have just let me walk away without offering any suggestions that could help me beyond going to the Mac Store. Yes, my laptop is old, but my iPhone is only a year old so I'm still a recent customer of Apple. It'd be good to help keep your customers happy so they want to keep buying your products. read more

Customer service here is amazing compared to other Apple stores I have been to. Honestly, if I could give zero stars I would. Ok first of all, I came into the store with no greeting at all asking for assistance in what I needed to find. I waited for at least 30 mins to see if any associate would even bother to ask me if I needed help or something. So I waited for another ten mins to see if they would do anything and nothing. These two Asian associates were the dumbest associates I have ever encountered in my life. Walked past by me multiple times and I was waiting for them to ask me again if I needed help. Still got nothing. So I physically had to walk up to the girl that was doing the appointment check in to find an associate for me. And again I had to wait another 15 mins for an associate to assist me. Isn't it common knowledge where you walk up to a customer if they look like they need help. So I finally got helped and asked to try on a watch band and the guy looked like he had much better things to do than help me. I decided on a watch band that they didn't have on the floors I I told him if he could get one for me in the back. He said yes and I waited for them to get one more me. Waited a good 20 mins and still nothing and the guys just left me for another customer. I was prepared to already walk out but I decided to stay. Then he came back and was like they are finally getting the band for you. Like you have 10 associates that are just standing there talking to each other and not assisting any customers. After another 10 mins of waiting, I finally got my watch band and I checked out and left instantly. Whoever is the store manager of this store, you really need to train your associates to detect customers when they look like they need help rather than talk to one another about dumb shit. I was so annoyed that at least 5 associates walked past by me when I was clearly holding something to check out. Customer service in this store was absolute shit and you clearly need to hire smarter associates! Never going back to this store again! read more

If they had no stars, I would definitely put it on. I spent so much money here to get an Mac Pro and iPad mini. When I wanted to return a one to one care that I needed to return because a family member works for apple I didn't need it anymore. Grant it I didn't know till my wife told me that we had a family member working for apple. So when I decided to return it today, it was such a hassle and they kept on questioning me if i stole it or trying to do some funny return. Even when I purchased it they said I can return it anytime as long as I didn't use it in 14 days. When I told her that she said there isn't a return policy for the one to one care until I mentioned that an associate told me I can. Then she passed me to an associate as she walked to the back. Well that associate was helping me she was also directing traffic and the return process took even longer. Then she had to call for a manager override and that took long too. I REALLY don't understand. This was so FRUSTRATING. If they want to contact me they know they can reach me. I purchased it in Sunday 10/20/13 A Mac Pro for an exchange when I purchased a Mac Air on Wednesday 10/16/13. I also purchased an IPad mini... They have my email if they want to contact me. If I could give NO STARS, I would. Went to see them in regards to my Iphone 6 Plus bending & the person who "helped" me was totally condescending. He insisted I had to have caused the damage myself & there was no way it was a phone defect. Here's the thing, I've been with Apple for years & I know how to take care of one. I have an OtterBox cover on my phone, along with a glass screen protector. I keep it in my bag cus it's too damn big to fit in my pocket, so I know I didn't sit on it to cause it, as he was implying. Left the store disappointed with Apple & it's products. I would have felt better about the interaction had the person helping me actually bothered to help & talk over possible solutions, instead of pretty much telling me I was S.O.L. Can I say, LOVE IT! I have a Mac Book, infact I have one of the new thin books and I am in serious with it. I love how many accesories come with the apple items and how my itunes is already automatic. I recently just purchased the new 120gb ipod in black, and I have not really made a dent in the amount of space available. I have 5,896 songs and 2 movies. I also love the fact that when I bring myself to go to an apple store, the staff are always so helpful and fun. They help me with all my questions I have about my new laptop and my ipod. So I had my first issue with my awesome Macbook Pro. The screen stopped working last Sun. Took it to the Apple store in Oakridge where I bought it the next day (Mon) to get it fixed. Got there at 11:10 and they said they could see me at 11:30. I come back in at 11:30 and then wait. And wait. And wait. And wait. After 2 half-assed apologies over the course of an hour, someone finally decides to look at my computer. They tell me the display and the graphics card are defective. They said the parts will be in on Wed and it should be done by Thurs and they will call within 48 hours to let me know when it will be ready. No phone call Wed. No call Thurs so I decide to show up and ask what the deal is. I wait. And wait. And wait. And wait. Then they say it will be ready later today and they will call me. Funny how all the people in the store who wanted to buy something were helped immediately with no wait. I guess if I wanted to buy an iphone for $600, that would've sped up the process. So that evening I call the store because I still have not heard back from 7 1/2 HOURS AFTER LEAVING THE STORE. They say it might be ready before they close in 90 min or before lunch tomorrow and that the "Geniuses" are working on it and are very busy . Genius huh? 4 f@#$ing days to replace a graphics card and you get to be called a genius?? That makes me twice as smart as God by those standards. Anyway, they said they'll call me and let me know. They have windows of when things will get done like Comcast...So of course, no call back. Anyone see the pattern yet? It is now approximately 6:15 on Friday and I am writing this review from the computer they fixed. Thing is, I just showed up to pick it up 45 minutes ago, because no one called me to tell me it was done. I asked to speak to a manager about the supreme retardation of their handling of my issue. Before I could finish my first sentence after explaining to her my timeline and disappointment, she says, "Well I can't do anything to compensate you for your time." When did I ask to be? Why are already just making sure I know I won't get any free shit? Why are you not concerned that your store could f@#$ up a cup of coffee at this rate? I am now going to complain to their corporation about this and forward them this review. All your high technology and you can't replace a graphics card in 3 days or return a single phone call. I went to Oakridge Apple Store because my iPhone 6 went crazy and died leaving me with no phone or message capability. This started on Thursday night. I went to Verizon twice with no help. I spent a total of 4.5 hours at Oakridge, first waiting until noon to get in and then with Anthony. I want to give Anthony the highest praise for his patience and expertise in solving my problem. Love this apple store. Some people will always have something to complain about and complaining about strollers is a sure sign that this person lives in a bubble where the world revolves around themselves. I love that I can go in this store and always get help. No problems. I definitely recommend making an apt because they are always very busy. (Good Sign) They always take care of me and leave me a happy customer. The prices may be a little more at the get go but I would say in the long run you save a whole lot. For example I used to end up buying a new PC every year or so because they would get viruses and be useless. I got tired of these expensive paperweights. So I was recommended to buy an apple. I hesitated because of the price. I thought it was a lot to pay for a label. But eventually bought one. I have never looked back. I have had the same desk top for about 8 years and it's still running great. I have had 1 MacBook and one MacBook Pro. The only reason I got the new one was cause the first got stolen. I miss it. I miss the white MacBooks. I have had the pro for about 2 1/2 years and love it. I have bought 7 or more iPads Nd a few iPods over the years. (Everyone in the family needed one). Wow, Apple has really gotten rotten really. I still am a huge Apple fan but wow has the customer service level really gone down. I have almost every single one of their products, iPhone, iPad, MacBook, Apple TV. The reason why I gave this a 1 star is, I have an Apple TV (3rd gen) which had a wifi chip go bad. I did my research, apparently Apple had a huge batch of these that went bad and they issued a recall on these. I tried to make an appointment but they don't have an option for Apple TV so I just went in hoping to be in an out. The person who helped me was not friendly at all, he told me I need to see an Apple genius and to come back when I have an appointment. I showed him the Apple website with my issue and told him that I'm sure in t he back they have replacement units for this program but he refused. So basically Apple deserves no premium since they are now just selling commodity hardware like all the other brands (ie Samsung). Oh well, it was a fun ride while it lasted, time to move on to other brands since customer service can't get any worse. read more

The store is poorly stocked with accessories and does not carry all the items at the Valley Fair Store. The store is small, full of "blue shirts" so that it is almost impossible to get the the back of the store. If you are buying anything more than the a basic Apple product, and don't like being shoulder to shoulder with other shoppers, "forget about it." Go to Valley Fair. It's still a hassle but you will find what you need. read more

I have been a loyal customer and fan of Apple products for nearly 10 years now, and have always like their service, but my experience at the Apple store at Oakridge Mall has been consistently disappointing. My latest disappointment was yesterday, when I went in with the same less than 6-month old iPod that refused to turn on. The first time I went in with this same iPod, the "greeter" was somehow magically able to get it to start, but then told me that if this happens again I have to make a "Genius" bar appt, (don't you love how they call themselves "Geniuses"? and come back in. Of course, only a couple of weeks later, the iPod failed again. I made a "Genius" bar appt, and I was told "we are running about 10 minutes behind". I stood at that table next to a crying baby (I didn't blame the baby---I wanted to be doing the same thing) for 35 minutes before someone actually helped me. He immediately swapped out the iPod, as the "old" one was less than 6 months old, but this appears to be a refurbished iPod as my computer refuses to recognize it. I did the calculations, and realized that in the last 12 months my family has bought from Apple: 2 Laptops 2 iPhones 3 iPods .....and the countless accessories that go along with those purchases. Total dollars spent at Apple in the last year: upwards of $5,000.00. Apple, get your S*** together. Steve Jobs is rolling over in his grave. read more

Apparently, workers will ask people who don't look like potential purchasing-customers to leave the store. My nephew and his friend went inside the store for a few minutes because they were actually thinking about buying one of their products and were asked to leave. I suppose they did this because they didn't fit the profile of a purchasing customer. Their treatment was offensive to my nephew and friend and would go as far as saying that they were discriminated against. They need to rethink the treatment of some of their customers. read more

I had a problem with SIM card transfer from a iPhone 6 Plus to a 6S plus. The SIM card holder looks identical BUT THEY'RE NOT. I had Verizon on the phone and they told me to switch the SIMs but didn't tell me just the card not the slide in holder so I wound up with jammed SIM cards. To make a long story short I made a evening trip to the jammed mall and when I got in the store I got some help from David pretty quickly even though they were busy with Christmas shoppers. He had me explain what was going on. Tried to remote jammed card without success. Then he even took it in the back and opened it up to find the mechanism was broken. BUT we figured out a solution. Since the phone with the jammed SIM worked we left it as was. He found Eric to help me with getting a replacement SIM holder for the 6S Plus and once we had that the new phone was operating. All this took about hour including finding parking and I was only charged $8 for the part. The service David & Eric provided will help keep me as a loyal Apple customer. Thanks again guys! read more

Super happy with the great customer service I received today. While I did have to wait 10 mins after my appointment, the rep made up for it. Edgar was very attentive in diagnosing the problem with my phone. He troubleshooted my phone for some time until he pin pointed the problem and fixed it. I'd rather wait a bit longer to have great customer service provided to me than have an impatient employee hurry me up because he has another appointment. read more

Well, I came in here because I got the NEW and COOL iPad for Christmas this year. Well walking in, NOT one person looked or even asked if I needed help? HMM weird? Since I'm holding a apple product to began with. Anyways, so looking a young man in the eyes, I say, "are you busy" with a smile? He says, "ummmmm no" "yeah ummmm looking around no" I thought it was a joke, so I smiled. I said, hey so I wanna start this up, how do I do that? "plug it in" I felt like that he just slap me in the face! Really?! I thought to myself?? That's all you have to say is plug it in??!! Okay, maybe its another joke and I'm just out touch with it and not getting the jokes. So I say, okay, but should I start a new payment plan for this or what? WI-FI? I mean I felt like I was pulling teeth to get two words out of this kid. Point being I left this place with no answer and super deposited in the customer service I got.. Please take your head out of your butt little man, or please leave the bong at home...and bring your A game to the APPLE store. To the higher up's there that day, that were too into there own conversions that day to even look up and say HI to me. Please get some more training..and lead by example. I will be going to the Valley Fair Apple store for now on, or the Los Gatos Apple store, since they come straight to you and get what you need, and help you without any questions. read more

I bought a new 5s and when I got home, the charger was practically cut in half. AT&T told me I had to go through Apple because they are the ones who cover the warranty. I talked to the "Genius" and he laughed when I told him it came like that. He showed his fellow "Genius" and he mockingly told me I could send it in the be seen by a technician but it probably wouldn't be covered. Went to Valley Fair and the man gave me a new one, no problem. So I'd recommend going to Valley Fair unless you would like to be treated poorly by the employees. Usually when I come here the associates are so fake friendly and they are in a rush to get you out of there even if you just spent tons of money there. This past Saturday I took my son to his 1:30 appt. for his MacBook Pro for some issues it was having. We didn't get seen till 2:00. This store is always so crowded so it sucks to wait because there is really no where to wait! We finally got to meet with one of the associates at the Genius Bar and he was soooooo amazing! He took his time on helping my son fix his computer and he had a great attitude and was VERY HELPFUL!!!! He was so helpul that I tried to tip him a $20 but he wasn't allowed to take tips! He is the reason this review is a 4 star versus a one star review I would have game this store before. I wish I remembered his name to give him great recognition on this review but I forgot. The trackpad on my MacBook suddenly stopped working so I took it here and received the rudest, most unhelpful customer service ever. They were unable to accommodate a Genius Bar appointment for another 6 (!!!) days. Are you serious Apple? That is just way too long. I ended up getting an appointment in Los Gatos much sooner and the employees there are so much nicer! read more

Stopped by there with my fiancee last night. Was greeted by the manager even though the place was jam packed. He was very helpful in trying to assist my fiancee with her Ipod Nano issues. I work in a customer service industry and was very satisfied with how the manager there conducted himself. His service is why I would shop there again. Good Job. read more
