After visiting Apple a second Sunday in a row I am thoroughly satisfied with my customer service experience. Last week I walked in with a few inquiries as to why my iPhone is acting as if it's been misused, thrown in a pool, and microwaved. Steve did a reset for my phone's settings. He advised me that this may only cure the issue temporarily. Welp, Steve was right which essentially led me to today's appointment. Today I met Mega who was extremely professional, patient and knowledgable. She pulled up my appointment from last week to see what was done in regards to repairing my phone. Steve didn't write any notes so Mega had me walk her through what took place. I explained to her my issues and what was done to temporarily fix the problem which is why I'm currently here again. Mega mentioned to me that my apps were crashing and I wouldn't know that they weren't operating at 100% because it's in their system. After speaking to me for what seem all of ten minutes she explained what she wanted to do but advised me that it may not work. She didn't want to take the risk of my phone being inoperable if the system was upgraded from iOS 8 to iOS 9. Mega mentioned that I have the option to upgrade my phone since I'm no longer cover under warranty at Apple either here or through my carrier. She did warn me however that AT&T may not take back a defective phone. With that being said if I'm interested in upgrading I can trade this phone in for the iPhone 6S. Mega is truly a gem! Finally we have an Apple store in Queens. I was having some issues with my phone so I made an appointment at this location but I was a bit afraid after the bad reviews. The store was crowded but I never been to any Apple store that isn't. I went to the back and waited for someone to help me after I check in. About 10-15 minutes later Cameron came to help me and he was very nice and helped me get a replacement phone since I was still under warranty. When you come here you need to come with plenty of time since you are not the only one having issues but overall the employees are all polite and try to help you. read more

I came into this apple store last night to deal with my phone issues. The guy who helped me was great, I wish I could remember his name, but either way, this review isnt about him. While sitting and waiting for my phone to be serviced, an elderly man sat across from me to have his apple watch fixed. The man who was helping him tried to explain that since he forgot his phone, there was nothing that could be done. The young girl who was helping someone else at my table looked over and must have recognized that she worked with him before. She asked if he was ok and he tried to explain to her what was going on. She politely told him she was helping someone else and the man helping him would handle his situation. After a few minutes, it became clear he only wanted to talk to her. This girl, I believe she told him her name was Yasmine, turned to this man, and told him that if he could hurry home and come back she would help him. She even mentioned his new haircut. The whole interaction was so sweet and endearing to watch. This girl went out of her way to try to help this man, she remembered him from having come in previously, and you can tell he appreciated that too. She deserves some recognition for what she did. read more

I came to this store because my 14 year old sister's phone iPhone 7 screen that was given to me from this apple store in May of 2018 would no longer turn on. Upon my initial entrance in the store the lady told me that it would be a 2.5 hour wait from the time i stepped foot into the store which i found crazy, but thats not even the point. John was the representative that assisted with my issue and he did his normal triage of the iPhone 7, and diagnosed that this phone had a faulty display which should fix the issue.. now remember this phone was given to me as a warranty replacement for the phone that initially had a one year warranty.. They insisted that to fix "Apple's Faulty display" i had to fork out 150$.. for a phone that wasn't more than 8 months old. I couldn't understand the logic, they told me they only provide 90$ warranty on the products they give for replacement phones which i found crazy. I asked for a supervisor, he came and it would appear that John told him to stick to his side and to not cut me a break, the supervisor that came over was totally unprofessional, they both kept mentioning the phone may be water damaged and this is my phone so im responsible for charges. so i asked for another supervisor, this time it was someone that was new to the situation and he worked with me. he was able to give me a break on the screen replacement cost, but this is not a way to treat customers. In my personal opinion i feel like John and the supervisor that first came over need to be retrained on customer service skills because it is extremely rude to assume a phone is water damaged by just looking at the outside of the device. In the end i walked out with a working phone after waiting nearly 2-3 hours in the apple store, arguing back and forth. I have been to numerous locations and this trip to Queens Center Apple store has been one of the worst experiences for me.I won't be visiting this location again. read more

We always choose this location to make our appts since it's near my parents' house. We checked in 15 mins earlier and we didn't have to wait at all since we only needed replacements. We were done quickly. Reps were nice, as usual. They have a lot of people working there and they have always been helpful. We have never had to wait longer than 15 mins for an appt. Whenever they needed to fix a phone we brought in, they would tell us to come back within 2 hours. We are an Apple family, lots of IPhones, IPads, laptops, and Mac Pros, Apple watches, etc... we have never had any issues with customer reps ever whether in the city or at the mall. If we need to buy a product in store, we use Apple Pay and make the purchase ourselves. Technology has made it so simple that we don't need people anymore. My only issues with any Apple store is really the customers or wait.. they're not customers.. they're just people who come to the mall with nothing to do but hang around all day using Apple's computers. I bought a MacBook Pro here. Since the day I bought it it had constant problems. Never an apology. The keyboard didn't work, the monitor didn't work. Each time it was fixed because I had a warranty. As soon as the warranty ended the store asked $600 to fix a computer that was sold to me broken. Do NOT recommend this place. Absolutely worst experience ever. Very rude staff, they'll do nothing for you if there's a problem. The person who "helped" me suggested I had done something to the computer even though a recall was issued by Mac. I was asking for help and the lady came with an attitude and said you want to buy or something else. Not even say hi or May I help you!! It is like I am begging for a product. My husband and I visited this Apple store today (November 18) and had a great experience. We arrived around 2PM (amidst the chaos that is to be expected during a pre-holiday-season Saturday) so we did have to wait 2 hours for the next available appointment, but from the moment we checked-in this afternoon to the moment we walked out the door this evening, every Genius that helped us along the way was friendly and professional. After receiving the text messages informing us that we were ready to be seen, we returned to the store where we checked back in and were assisted by a man (whose name I unfortunately can't recall) who quickly helped my husband transform his phone from its 'disabled' brick state back to normal function. We had expressed interest in upgrading our iPhones, so a woman (I'm terrible-- I missed her name too, but she was very helpful) took over and walked us through our options before turning it over to Adam, whose professionalism and patience made the otherwise agonizingly tedious process of trading-in and upgrading two iPhones bearable and even pleasant. Two hours-- yes, *two* hours-- and multiple stressful, time-consuming password hiccups later, Adam's patience and easy demeanor prevailed and my husband and I left the store with new phones in hand. On our way out Adam even shared some valuable Apple tips with us and showed us how to sign up for free Apple workshops. Based on my personal experience, I would recommend this Apple store location over the 5th Ave location and I plan to return. read more

It's been really convenient to have an Apple Store in Elmhurst. I still remember the days when I had to make the trek to the Apple store on Fifth Ave! My sister and I stopped by on a Sunday evening to purchase a new iPhone. Store was crowded but we made eye contact with one of the employees and he immediately greeted us and asked if we needed help. I forgot his name but he was extremely helpful and friendly. He told us it's his first day and how he was a little nervous. We had a little hiccup with my sister's apple pay while trying to make the purchase but he was patient and said "we will try this until it works". Appreciate that he made conversation with us throughout the entire exchange and didn't try to sell us on extra gadgets etc. Explained apple care thoroughly and didn't pressure us into making a decision immediately. Overall, it was a quick process and we were in and out of the store in 10 mins with the new phone. Apple store really needs more employees like him (if only I remember his name!!!). read more

This is the closest Apple Store to my home, but I usually visit the Soho location by my job. Since this location first opened, I wondered why anyone thought it was a good idea to open an Apple Store in this kind of mall. Firstly, and this is not their fault, the store is full of hoodlums as well as teenagers hanging out and playing with all devices with an obvious lack of intent to purchase anything. Came here for the first time last night and left majorly pissed - which is a first, considering I've never had anything short of a wonderful experience with Apple. The staff is nowhere NEAR as competent as what I'm used to in the city. They seemed to be angered by the fact that they had to, you know, work. We were passed off to colleagues twice. That speaks volumes for the laziness--sorry that I wanted to purchase a laptop and now you have to do something other than stand and greet people. After a 2 hour wait time the staff didn't believe my story as to how my phone broke and refused to believe that their product was defective. Roger at the front door was not only rude but also condescending in his mannerisms. The actively profiled his patrons, I went to go buy a new phone and waited patiently as I watched him talk down to MULTIPLE senior citizens asking him simple questions. He was so lazy to answer a question he just POINTED at the sign with his eyebrows raised. DISGUSTING... how do you treat your patrons like that? When finally I was approached there was no hello no welcome to Apple... but rather " do you have an appointment" and then when I said no... just walked away. I know there is a labor shortage but by paying low wages you will get this kind of low level bottom of the barrel customer service. Since 5 years ago I have always go to this store to purchase anything I need and get help with any problem I got. But my last visit was just awful. I couldn't believe this was happening to me. I when to the store and ask for the product I was looking for a nice guy guide me to where they have it and where I can pay them. There were 3 employees there talking with a customer and laughed so loud they weren't even talking about the product they were just having a funny talk I don't say anything cause I don't want to cause trouble and them after 15 minutes the guy there decided to ask me why I was there and y say "I would like to bought a set of AirPods Pro" They guy take it scanned and say it's 270 something like that and I ask him "can I like engrave them" and he was like "you shouldn't have come to the store for that bought it online" I was like okay maybe he have a bad day Engrave is not that important. I say "Never mind I would like to take it like that" and he was like okay he ask for my card and everything just fine them I ask "would you like to pay for guarantee of you product" I say "how much would it be" he say "you want it or no?" I was like "no" I don't understand what was going on... then I pay he send me everything by email and then when I was about to leave he say " if anything happens to your products don't come back again crying for help" I was like WTF is going on with you ? I have nothing bad I could say for anyone who works here!! After a disastrous visit to Best Buy geek squad I made an appointment here for the Iphone 6s battery change. Our rep was Eddie who was the nicest, most professional technician you can find! He explained everything he was doing: showed us all the diagnostic findings and educated us on our choices. We elected to change the batteries on our phones and he gave us all the info, times we can expect it to be done. It was exactly on time as he said! Since we had time to waste and we are debating on upgrades and other purchases, we asked few reps about other products. EVERYONE was helpful, ready and really eager to help!!!! Waited about 30 minutes for my turn at the genius bar because my camera was broken. The person who assisted me was professional and polite. Since my phone was under warranty they replaced my camera in an hour and a half. I'm only disappointed because I had only agreed to changing the camera but I got my phone back with a new display. My old display had a $40 dollar ZAGG screen protector on it and they refused to give me a new screen protector after changing my display (which was not even cracked!) Ordered something online and the security let me know exactly where to wait. The rep let the people in line in and told us where to stand, I waited a little bit then one the reps came to help me. His name was Justin and he was super helpful and nice. Made sure to get my order and even asked if I needed any help or had questions. When I make a reservation for a repair online I expect to be seen or at least have someone tell me they'll be with me shortly. That did not happen here. I had a 5:15 reservation, showed up early at 4:50 knowing I would have a wait. I was told to sit on the side until it was closer to 5:15. Its now 5:25 and I'm still sitting to the side when the worker comes up to me asking what time my reservation was for, so basically he forgot about me and didn't check me in. Then he tells me to sit in one of the seats around where the technicians come to help. I waiting until 6:00 for someone to come up to me and help me, after having to ask the worker who was helping the woman next to me. Learned my lesson on going at that time! read more

I came here twice so far: once to bring in my Mac(air) to be fixed, and once to retrieve my fixed Mac. I scheduled an appointment the night before using Apple's website, which was easy to navigate and pinpointed the Apple Stores in NY with genius bars (staff who are trained to fix Apple products) and requested very basic information to speed up the process such as which Apple product you need help with (Mac desktop, iPhone, iPad, etc.) and the general problem (Battery troubleshooting, not starting up as expected, "other" and more). Then it directed you to the time slots available for the next couple of days. All of the morning appointments for the next day were booked, so I scheduled one for 1:45PM on a Saturday. I arrived a couple minutes late, but it was no problem and they told me to take a seat and wait for one of their staff members to get to me. I assume this was because I scheduled an appointment after looking at the previous reviews, because my wait time was NOT ridiculously long... It was 10, maybe 15 minutes. Yeah, it was still kind of long but that store was packed and I saw several employees going around helping people who were there before me which is totally fine. When one of their employees got to me, I explained that my MacAir had a battery problem and would randomly shut off even at 20% or 40% remaining charge. The guy who helped me plugged in some thingamajig into my laptop and went out of his way to get a charger to make sure it wouldn't randomly power down, and the thingamajig diagnosed the problem which was indeed an issue with the physical battery. He said that I had two options: I could leave it as is, despite having a horrendously low battery life, if I didn't need to carry it around much or left it plugged in most of the time which is what many customers do, or I could replace it for ~$120 and I would have a fully functioning battery. I opted to replace my battery since I plan on using it to take notes and work in class, and he said that my Mac would be fixed in approximately 3-5 days. I got an email only two days later (Monday) saying that my Mac was fixed and ready to be picked up, and I just picked it up today *without* an appointment and it took a maximum of 10 minutes because the employee who retrieved and gave it to me just had to double check that I was the owner and make sure I paid for the battery replacement, after helping the people who arrived before me. It was a very smooth process and in the end I have my fixed MacAir ready for the school year and a nice backpack(?) they gave to me to carry it home. tl;dr Just make an appointment on the Apple Store website. It takes maybe two minutes of your time and can save you hours. I did it and my wait time was 10-15 minutes compared to the other Yelpers who said they had to wait 2.5+ hours. The service is great here and the Apple employees seem to be very well trained. read more

I recently cracked my screen and came here being that they are the only Apple store in Queens. I had a previous horrible experience so I was kind of dreading come back but didn't want to trek it into the city. I was pleasantly surprised by how friendly the team members were this time around. The visit was fine and my phone was repaired in about an hour. Everything was fine when I left the store. Later that night a thin red line appeared on my screen and I could not for the life of me get rid of it. It was kind of annoying to have to go back and get it fixed which is why I didn't give them 4 stars as I originally planned. I HIGHLY recommend making a Genius Bar appointment ahead of time because without it the wait can be up to 2 hours. I came out of necessity but they're not at the top of my list of Apple stores. Came in today to have my phone checked out, didn't have an appointment but i decided to see if i get my phone checked out anyways. they told me the wait time would be 40 min and that i would get a text message when they were ready for me, it wasn't busy. about an hour later i get my text messages i head back to the store but they tell me its to late my reservation was canceled. after only 10 min! they ask me if i want to wait another 20 min i say fine. i sit and sit and sit and finally after another 45 min i asked what happened? turns out they had a rush of people and won't be able to assist me for another hour and half at least. Unbelievable worst customer service very disorganized and if i didn't say anything i would still be sitting there till eternity just to get my phone looked at. You know what really grinds my gears? How is it that a multi billion dollar company make their customers wait more than two hours to have their phones looked at while sitting on uncomfortable wooden stools while the damn store has more employees than customers chatting and playing on their phones. Not only that but the technicians are busy selling more apple products and chatting to customers than actually getting the phone issue resolved and moving on to the next person. Its ridiculous that people get treated like this and continue to buy apple products. and i think that's the problem when no matter how bad you treat your customers you keep coming back for more. well not me i'm done with apple and their products this is one customer that won't be coming back. read more
