I've been ordering lunch for delivery from Apple Spice Junction for a few years. I like the variety of foods , fresh, good quality ingredients, delicious taste and good portion size. I usually order the egg salad sandwich or the chipotle chicken sandwich. I've also tried the granny apple turkey sandwich and other sandwiches too . I really like all of their sides and their soups as well. I've never had any issues with my orders not being accurate or late. Most of the time I order two sandwiches one for lunch and another one for dinner. I wish they were closer to my work because I would definitely go at least once a week. read more

Ordered the clam chowder (seasonal) for lunch along with a bread bowl (1.99) add on The bread bowl was a huge bowl, this is the same size as the mini loaf of sourdough bread from the farmers market. It didn't taste like sourdough and was most likely regular bread. It came with two slices of honey wheat toast that seemed like gluten free bread because it fell apart easily and had a lot of crumbs Overall the clam chowder satisfied my soup craving for the day. read more

You order at the counter or call in. The order staff is pleasant and helpful, if you dine in they bring your meal to your table. I ordered the seafood avocado salad with their signature ranch dressing. You get a mix of shrimp & imitation crab, with avocado on fresh spring greens. The food is fresh and a generous portion. The signature ranch dressing is especially tasty. You receive bread with the salad. It's accompanied with regular butter and a sweet cinnamon butter, Yum! The food was absolutely awful. It reminds me of a sandwich I would've made myself as a poor 8 year old who wasn't allowed to put more than one slice of meat and one slice of cheese. The olive macaroni salad was absolutely horrid. The carrots and sauce were ok but I have no idea where the $15 went. The food looks nothing like the pictures. It's worse than fast food. Purchased Cold sandwiches should not be anything like you could just make at home. There needs to be more greens, a tastier sandwich sauce, not cheap wonder bread, and more slices of meat. I have always loved Apple Spice - the bread is so good, and their sandwiches are delicious. But some of their offerings have gone down lately - you can't order the side of veggies online anymore, and if you order in-person or by phone and get it added to the order, the veggies are often going bad. The only healthy side to order online is carrot sticks - yuck. Today a co-worker went to pick up a few team orders and they were told by the staff that they no longer carry sour cream for the chili or tortilla soup - wth? Even Wendy's has sour cream. Also, their customer service has always left a bit of room for improvement. Over the past 14 years, I've had to call a couple times about order errors or poor quality (e.g. zero salt added to the egg salad) and they never say sorry or offer any sort of anything to make the frustration better when my lunch is ruined. read more

I looooove this place. This is my go-to when I want something fresh. Salads are delicious, they have a few varieties, always get them with their suggested dressing. Place is small, can get busy during lunch rush. Location is surrounded by warehouses, very industrial off the 405. Even when its busy parking is usually not that bad. Sandwiches are fire, they bake their bread on site I believe. Legit one of my fav salad spots. Pro-Tip: Avoid the rush, get there before 12pm or after 1pm-ish. read more

I love ASJ and have been going for years! My favorite it the Apple Walnut Salad with the 13-grain bread, then it's the Chicken Tortilla soup! I wish I could get both; but the salad is very filling. I say that to say, yesterday I was very disappointed with the food. First, my order is always "Apple Walnut Salad, no bacon, no cucumbers, no carrots w/the brown bread (13-grain) " the salad still has black olives and tomatoes. Yesterday I was told the salad is no longer prepared as such. It's a spring mix, with the shredded cucumber/carrot mix. The portion size was much larger (needed an extra dressing to finish) but there was an excessive amount of the "filler" then there was no more 13-grain; but okay it was a Fri afternoon. But the bread I was given was small, again...the portion size was has significantly decreased, the bread was not tasty, even with the delicious cinnamon butter! Then there was a man in there, idk if how he was connected; but he appeared to have some connection to ASJ; but he was sitting on the counter while he was talking to the lady behind the counter...my thoughts were, what is going on here? So good! The presentation is beautiful! I came to try a seasonal sandwich (craving corned beef after St Pats) and it did not disappoint! Nice and simple plates with sides that don't have you feeling bloated after. It's a great place for something simple and on the go. I plan to use their catering services for my kids school (picky eaters but lots of simple choices). I didn't know you CAN just order one sandwich and dine in. I like that they have gluten free options but maybe they can toast the bread first so it doesn't fall apart? I'll ask next time. Apple Spice has the best boxed lunches. Parking is free and you can eat there or take away. Many have it delivered, especially for office meetings. It is the best lunch spot, They really come in a super cute and sturdy box. All of the food I've had from here is wonderful. I think they make their own bread. You used to be able to buy a loaf but I don't know if that is still the case, they did not have any last time I was there. They have wonderful sandwiches and salads. My favorite is the cashew chicken salad sandwich, but you can also order it as a salad and it comes with bread and you can make your own sandwich. Each box comes with a cookie and they are great, make sure you get one. Their Rice Krispy treats are a favorite of my friends. They have great customer service be it on the phone for delivery or at the counter. Go there. read more

UPDATE! Just want to reiterate that I've many of the sandwiches from ASJ Rancho and have NEVER been disappointed. This time I had a much larger order for an event at my church, and David was fantastic and made the food part of the event pretty much stress-free. If you have folks with dietary restrictions, they'll accommodate (unlike a local competitor) and David very patient with helping me put my order together. The boxes were delivered on time (even after I changed the time on them!) and our really enjoyed the box lunches. Will definitely work with them again if the opportunity arises. read more

I like the salads, sandwiches, and boxed lunches. Customer service isn't so great though. On my most recent visit there were no other customers but 3 different employees ignored me when o walked in. I understand that this may not be for everyone due to it being only cold sandwiches with no customization, but for what they do have, they do it well. I like that they formulate their sandwiches based in boxes which includes a side and a cookie. The ingredients are also good quality and have interesting ingredients for example, frog eye salad. There is also the executive lunch which has cheesecake as part of the box lunch or you could select the simpler box lunch with the cookie instead. there is plenty of food even if you want to eat from it twice. I can regularly order with Grub Hub to get their vegetarian sandwich. I did order one pick up and I noticed that their sandwich shop is clean and has a small eating area that actually looked quite inviting. They have short hours to accommodate mostly lunch visitors. There is a bit of industrial traffic around that corner and it may be a little difficult to see the shop. Map it out first and there's parking right in front. Highly recommend. read more

Super disappointed to be given crusts repeatedly...its like your claim to fame is your homemade bread, then you ruin the sandwich. Pinching corners I guess, as it didn't used to be this way.
