Kimchi butter for the win! It was my first time ever to try Shootz and I am now a big fan of Kimchi butter. This spot is known as the "original home of kimchi butter" and after you try at least one of their items with it, you will know why it is so amazing. I got to try several different dishes here and I loved each one! I first tried their Mixed Plate. You can choose the Mixed Plate to be regular or spicy. I chose mine as the regular version. It comes with kimchi butter katsu chicken and kimchi butter katsu shrimp, two scoops of steamed rice and one scoop of Mac salad. The kimchi butter katsu chicken was my favorite. The katsu chicken was perfectly crisp outside and juicy inside. Both the chicken and shrimp were smothered in the famous kimchi butter, which made the mains so savory and rich. I also really loved the Mac salad. It was so creamy and comforting. Equal in deliciousness was the Hot Kimchi Butter Katsu Chicken Sandwich. The same tasty and crispy katsu chicken was topped with Mac salad, creamy Kimchi aioli and brûlée brown sugar and placed in between two Hawaiian buns. So ono! This is now on the list of some of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had. I also tried their Spam Brûlée Musubi. This is a spam musubi drizzled with kimchi aioli and brûlée brown sugar. It was umami packed and seriously addicting. Alongside all the savory food, I got a refreshing Strawberry Pineapple Lemonade. It was the perfect pair to all the delicious food. Last but not least, I had to try their ube beignets. I love both ube and beignets and so this dessert was a true dream come true. It was so airy, pillowy and sweet. Oh Shootz! I am a fan! This spot is amazing. One thing to note is that this spot is located at the Uptown Commons in Long Beach. The seating is all located outside so all the food is takeout. Also one other thing to note is parking can be a bit tough. It's totally worth a visit though.

I ordered the kimchi butter katsu chicken. I opted for the spicy version and in my opinion it was pretty spicy but still delicious! I may get the regular next time since there's no spice level to choose from. The macaroni salad was refreshing as well. It's located in a strange little steelcraft like area behind Wendy's. I actually didn't see it from the parking lot so I left the parking only to see the sign from the street side so I went back in to park. My order was ready on time and nice and hot. Server was very friendly and efficient as well.

Got the ube dessert to-go. And it was really good, ube tasted authentic. Staff were kind. Parking was easy.

Shootz was the 3rd stop of my friend's food crawl adventure in Long Beach. Such a unique twist on traditional Hawaiian food that you may be used to, but not lacking in any flavor whatsoever. Shootz was a little hard to find even though the corner sign on Atlantic Ave and E Artesia Blvd displays it's there. The restaurant houses itself in the steel shipping containers, similar to SteelCraft. It's one of two food places, the other one being a hot chicken place. You'll know you're in the right spot when you see the Wendy's outside too. The parking lot shares with Chase Bank and Starbucks, so finding a spot can be difficult. While the kitchen and space to order isn't large there is plenty of shared-covered seating between Shootz and the chicken restaurant. Their menu is simple, their signature Kimchi Butter Katsu Chicken, Shrimp, Chicken sandwich, and their Brulee Spam Musubi. They have plate options but we opted for one of the 3 family packs for 6 of us. This was massive, and while it says it feeds up to 4, it was more than enough for 6 with some even left over. Buttery slightly spicy, and every bit of savory this was amazing. Mac Salad was pretty standard, the brulee musubi was ok too (I'm a bit picky about spam musubi). Food was delicious. We also order this on a different occasion for a picnic and everyone loved it. The one downside of it was that the staff would seem to disappear from time to time with literally no one behind the counter or in the kitchen (There is a clear window you can see through from where you order). Because the fans plus music were loud you kind of have to shout which I hate doing, I don't want to sound rude. Really good twist on Hawaiian food.

Had Shootz today for the first time and I must say it is one of the best things I've eaten in a while. Located in a small food hall made of shipping containers which was very cool. Got a variety of things off their menu. The Kimchi Butter Chicken Katsu was soooo good; we got the spicy version which was amazing. The chicken was so juicy and crispy with just the right amount of spice. Served on a bed of rice that absorbs all of the sauce and juice from the chicken, paired with Hawaiian Mac Salad which is something that I absolutely love. We also got the Kimchi Butter Chicken Sando and Spam Brûlée Musubi. The sandwich was delicious, not your typical hot chicken sandwich, it was very juicy and spicy and topped with Hawaiian mac salad instead of slaw which cooled down the spice of the sandwich. It is basically the plate but in sando form...amazing. The Musubi was also very good, it's topped with a creamy kimchi aioli and brûlée brown sugar; the perfect combination of salty and sweet. The strawberry pineapple lemonade was very refreshing as well. If you're anywhere near the Long Beach area this is definitely a must try!!! 100/10

Very good meal here! I got the spicy chicken and shrimp, and it was amazing. It comes with rice and mac salad also. It's a nice area they share with the main chicken hot chicken restaurant and other places i saw inside. They have a nice sitting area outside. This place is just pick up orders so no inside seating in the actual restaurant. Customer service was good. Also got the strawberry pineapple lemonade which was refreshing. Yes an automatic i will come back again and try other items! I forgot to get sauces as i'm sure they have many different kinds. Chicken and Shrimp Plate 9.1\10

It's worth a Hoot to eat at Shootz! Shootz located in Long Beach is a hidden Hawaiian gem for your taste buds. You can't see it from the street, so park and walk into the open-air courtyard with lunch tables, and you'll instantly feel the vibe. I ordered the Kimchi Butter Chicken Sandwich with macaroni salad and a 2pc of musubi. If you like spice, go for the spicy version because it will be a perfect balance with the mac salad. No graceful way to eat it, but honestly, that just proves how good it is. If sandwiches aren't your thing, you can also go for a plate: kimchi butter chicken, shrimp, or a half-and-half mix, all served with rice and macaroni salad. I'm definitely coming back for the kimchi butter shrimp plate, it looked and smelled incredible. For drinks, I chose the Mint Peach Limeade, which was refreshing and bright. The cashier even offered me samples of all three flavors before I decided (exceptional service.) Shootz is cashless, so bring your card. My food was ready quickly, and the manager, David, made the experience even better. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely positive. Good music, hot food, and amazing vibes make this spot stand out. I'll absolutely be back with my son who's a fried chicken sandwich fan. I know for a fact he's going to love this place. Shootz does it right, and it's worth every bite.

Came here on July 4th 2:32 pm (closing at 3:00pm) and they were still able to get us some food Granted they're about to close, we weren't able to get their musubis the ambiance over is pretty chill. They got an outdoor seating area shared amongst a few other businesses! Great service too!! Pretty slow day so we got our food within minutes! Food is definitely a must try and "oh I'm coming back later" is the vyyyybeeeee!

    Ube Beignets

Excellent food, no bad orders. The chicken and shrimp is incredible. The spam music is good if you add kimchi butter or the aoli and I enjoyed the Ube Beignets. The refreshers are also good, the mint is my personal favorite.

Food always hits the spot! Love getting the family trays as I feel they are worth it for the amount you get. I will say though that the ube beignets were a bit underwhelming as they were tiny and only contained 2 pieces for $6.99. If you compare that to Disneyland beignets, you would get more pieces that are bigger in size for that price. I recommend ordering ahead on their app so that it'll be ready when you arrive. Also you do get points for having an account on their app.

Exceeds expectations every single time!! This is probably one of my top 3 places to eat. I got it delivered and food was hot and service was quick. And I get the same meal every time mixed plate (kimchi butter katsu and shrimp) and 2 pc spam musubi. I mix up the drink every now and again. The mango tea lemonade is so good and refreshing. The mixed plate is really good , hearty. Well seasoned , good portion. Spam musubi has this brûlée mayo on top add a nice flavor

I have yet to have a bad experience here. This trip was more for a quick snack as we ordered the shrimp a la carte, and two sets of the spam brulee musubi. The musubi was good, seaweed was soft and not stale nor soggy despite the 40 minute trip home, but I am not the biggest fan of its sweetness. I do come here more for the shrimp as it's my absolute favorite. I tried it spicy this time and it is just perfect for my spice tolerance, full of flavor, and amazingly crispy. We also tried a side of the kimchi aioli this time and it was so creamy and added a nice change of flavor to dip the shrimp in (although the shrimp is good enough on its own anyway)

Shootz definitely lives up to the hype. The standout for me was the kimchi butter katsu. The pork was crispy on the outside, tender inside, and the kimchi butter added a rich, slightly tangy kick that made it feel way more elevated than a typical katsu dish. It's the kind of flavor combo that sounds a little risky but actually works really well. I also ordered the spam musubi brûlée, which was a cool twist on a classic. The caramelized top gave it a subtle sweetness and texture contrast that balanced nicely with the savory spam. Creative without being gimmicky. For dessert, the ube beignets were solid. Light, fluffy, and not overly sweet, with a nice ube flavor that came through without being overpowering. A good way to finish everything off. Overall, the menu feels thoughtful and different from your standard comfort food spots. Portions were fair, and everything came out well-prepared. Definitely worth checking out if you're in Long Beach and want something a little more unique.

Dry Spam musubi. I asked for sauce they said I had to pay for the sauce.

From the moment you walk in, the vibe is warm, cute, and incredibly welcoming -- the kind of spot that instantly feels like your place. The drinks are on point. I've tried the iced coffee and the matcha, and both were excellent -- not overly sweet, not watered down, just really well done. But what truly won me over? The breakfast sandwiches. I had a croissant sandwich with sausage, egg, and cheese, and it was chef's kiss -- fresh, high-quality ingredients, generous portions, and packed with flavor. Not a single corner cut. And the service? Amazing. The staff is attentive, friendly, and genuinely makes you feel taken care of. That kind of hospitality is rare and it absolutely elevates the whole experience. This is officially my new coffee spot, hands down. Whether you're stopping in for a quick coffee or sitting down for a full breakfast, do yourself a favor and check this place out. You won't regret it!

I ordered 2 bacon avocado toast, 1 avocado toast and a grilled cheese. They forgot the bacon on one of the avocado toast. And 2 of the 4 drinks weren't full. As I mentioned it was about a 20 minute drive so I just took the loss. The taste of the food was ok for 2 of the ppl other 2 ppl one being myself was kind turned off with the missing bacon and half full drinks so I basically trashed my meal. Although on a hungry day, I could probably eat it all with no problem. Dilly's has a fairly decent amount of craft beers on draft. I wasn't in a beer-drinking mood so I didn't look too closely at the list. I love it when restaurants support local brewers, and this looks like the kind of place that would do just that.

Heard about Dilly's Sandwiches having the most unique rotating set of beers on tap in Long Beach,…read moreso had to come to try it. The taste portions were very reasonably priced, allowing to create your own flight (or two). Specifically scheduled an early afternoon to come to the Lakewood Village neighborhood of East Long Beach. My wife found an angled parking spot right in front. It wasn't too crowded inside and the four of us found easy, comfortable seating in the brightly decorated dining room. One places and pays for the order at the counter, with the proprietors being very friendly and engaged. They brought out our beers after the pour, and the sandwiches a bit after (since each is individually carefully made). Beers: - Northern Lager [Oxbow] - ($5 for 13oz pour) was clean, crisp and a hoppy aftertaste. - Infinite Hotel [The Wayfinder X Bierstadt] (marked as $3 but charged $4) is a rice lager and was the favorite of the group for its drinkability - Winteruption [JK's Farmhouse] ($3) is a cider with very strong maple syrup overtones: never tasted anything like it. - Hyper Paradise [Rare Barrel] ($4) - saison and ale with mango and passion fruit. I liked this beer very much. - A Place Like Home [Pure Project] ($3) - Nitro poured Extra Special Bitter. - Double Negative [Grimm] ($4) - Imperial Stout, which I really enjoyed. - Amongst Friends [Sante Adairius] ($4) - a cherry saison, unusual and was glad to sample. A lot of work was put into creating this flight, with the careful pours and markings to make sure I knew what was what. I really appreciated the opportunity to sample all of these on-tap. In terms of the food, the group as a whole really liked them, though I guess I wasn't as impressed with my two samples, mainly because it used non-descript deli meat in OK quantities, heating them up when necessary. Hot Beef ($18) was my wife's, and it had been griddled with cheese to form a crispy lattice. The Ham and Cheese ($16) was served cold and had potato chips inside which my mother-in-law liked (saving the other half for home). Our friend and I split the Hot Turkey ($16) and Pastrami No 19 style ($20). The pastrami meat was piled high and the cole slaw was crisp and good, but was served cold (should have read the description more closely) and mediocre rye bread broke apart quickly. The Hot Turkey ($16) was served on ciabatta that had been grill pressed for a long time, creating a wonderful crust as good as any sandwich I've had. But the filling was OK, using standard turkey breast slices from a loaf and an ok stuffing...using hand carved turkey would have made a big difference here, but understand it's hard to do. Strangely, even though it's a pickle adorned shop, each sandwich just came with an ordinary pickle spear, what one would expect from a diner, not a deli. And the prices are on the higher side, especially with no sides and most not being particularly ginormous. But I loved how each sandwich used different breads, and how some of them were toasted very well. And having the opportunity to try these unique beers made it a really good experience.

It comes with thin slices of chicken, pickled red onions, romaine and mixed greens, marinated goat cheese, chopped up roasted almonds, orange slices, fresh mint, and a drizzle of citrus honey. The QR code was for a Free Entree w/ purchase once the restaurant opens. Not one to pass up free food, I made sure to use my phone to scan & sign up. Once open, I was ready to check out Mendocino Farms for the first time. The menu at Mendocino Farms consists primarily of sandwiches, salads & soup. After a quick perusal, I thought the Peruvian Steak sandwich best whet my appetite. Peruvian Steak sandwich- Spicy aji amarillo marinated steak with Oaxacan cheese, herb aioli, red onions, tomatoes, shredded romaine on a toasted potato roll. I quite liked this. Tender steak, with fatty cheese. The vegetables provided contrast & texture. For my purchase, I went with a side of Southern Potato Salad. It was good, but similar to grocery deli potato salad. In hindsight, I should've purchased avocado added to my Peruvian Steak sandwich. Service was excellent. All hands were on deck, as Mendocino Farms opened only a few days prior. Each employee had a name badge, specifying their name & which entree was their favorite, helping indecisive customers choose what to get. Plenty of seating indoors & al fresco. Parking is at LBX, with Mendocino Farms being across Georgia's and facing the Hangar at LBX. I found the Peruvian Steak sandwich delicious, yet meager in quantity, considering the regular price. It's more of a substantial snack, than a full meal, in my case. However, it's great to have another quality food option in the area, and I look forward to coming back & exploring the rest of menu.

I got the Tony Hawk sandwich which is turkey, honey mustard, avocado, and provolone cheese, typically served on Dutch Crunch bread with "dirty sauce" which is how I got it. It was warm and had this sweet sauce taste to it. Got the Bayou blackened ranch chips and vanilla soda drink to go with it. Everything was delicious and the cashier was so helpful. I am excited to go back and try other sandwiches!

The bread had no flavor, the chicken had no flavor, all that you could taste was wasabi. Our second sandwich was the Rawson Thurber and again it was very bland. The bread had no flavor the turkey had a little bit of flavor, all you could really taste was the cranberry sauce. This is high concept fast food, with lots of different ingredients, yet the final product is sorely lacking. In contrast, Jersey Mike's is low concept fast food, just basic subs. However, all the ingredients that go into their sandwiches are loaded with flavor......the bread, the meat, the sauces. On a positive note, they give you big portions, the staff is friendly and efficient. Won't be going back.

I hate nothing more than to struggle bite my bagel. Here, you can assemble your own concoction or choose from a list of re-made options. I ordered the Desi ($11.75) simply because I was curious about the hollowed out bagel situation. I suppose this is the healthier of their options because it comes with egg whites. It also comes decked out with bacon, avocado, jalapeño, cream cheese + lemon pepper. I chose a Parmesan bagel as my vessel and it was a very tasty breakfast bagel. There were hints of lemon pepper which was an interesting flavor addition. For a more traditional breakfast bagel, Joe's Special ($10.50) was quite special. It's a bacon, egg, cheese, jalapeño cream cheese + lemon pepper breakfast bagel. This was a very solid breakfast bagel without the usual accompanying grease. Again with the lemon pepper lol. They also offer an extensive drink selection which I appreciate. I'll definitely be back to try their lunch bagels or to simply pick up bagels for home.

The pineapple added to what's basically a Cuban style sandwich sounds different at first, but it works perfectly. The balance of sweet, savory, crispy, and smoky was spot on.
