As an android user, I can't understand why Apple makes everything so difficult. I am trustee and executor of an estate that left two Ipads to the heirs. I had no passwords and no sales receipts, however I presented the death certificate, certification of trust documents to the store hoping they could make the devices usable. After a long wait I was told I had to do this over the phone because they didn't have access to "that" system. When I suggested we call from there, since I have no Apple experience, I was pretty much brushed off and sent on my way. I was appalled at the attitude and difficulty in performing what should be a simple process. Not appreciated when dealing with settling the affairs of a loved one. read more

Apple is so hit or miss. I recently had an iPhone 6 just crap out on me So I was forced to use my upgrade through Verizon to get the 7. I don't like the genius bar scheduling. Whenever I check online they appear to be booked days out, sometimes a week. The only reason I am rated them four stars is because I bought a macbook pro from them back in 2013 when I was finishing my undergrad. It still runs strong to this day which is pretty amazing for any computer. I've looked at the specs for the new ones and honestly there's not that big of a difference in the processor. Until mine craps out, I won't be buying a. We computer anytime soon. But when it does it will be through Apple. read more

I made an appointment for the Genius Bar to have my iPhone 6 looked at. I've owed several iPhones and this is the only model that has given me trouble. The store was really busy when I got there but because I made an appt I was able to be paired up with an technician named Alex immediately. He reviewed and tested my phone and let me know the processor was failing and more than likely I'd be back to replace the phone. He shared the different options for replacement; of course my phone was out of warranty by a month so it wouldn't be covered. Alex stepped away and came back stating Apple was going to cover the cost of my phone for replacement - all because I had called in for help a month prior. Amazing!!! What a great experience from calling and setting the appointment, going to the store and being able to interact with a great associate. Alex was very thorough and made sure I was all set before leaving. The appt was 35 minutes from start to finish. I'm pleased to say that I will remain an Apple customer after this great experience. read more

I decided to bite the bullet and get an iPhone.. I couldn't buy it at the Mac store in Cedar Hills Crossing-they can't carry them??WTH?and referred me to Best Buy which was out of them I had immediate service at the Mac Store and at Best Buy. So I drove to Washington Square, with ALL the info to transfer my account from Verizon to my sons iPhone family plan. I waited 40 minutes for someone to help me. And was told my son needed to come in to add a phone to his plan even though I had his password etc. Was also told I could do much of it on line to save time when we came back. The online form said: Come into the store to ad a number to your family plan. A week later, son and I go back to Wash SQ, have another HALF HOUR WAIT FOR HELP and are hassled about not filling out the form online. The sales person said it was the best way, but she COULD help us on her little wireless thingy but it was slower. Son had a question about the online form and the clerk ended up filling it out herself on her wireless gadget. OK OK my total bitch here is with the huge wait! The products are cool, we are a mac family. Agreed?? But man, having to return then waiting another half an hour is really a drag in this era. There are zillions of tech people unemployed right now-my son could work there! And we were told it really wasn;t very busy for that store but still they keep the customers waiting...they must have gone to the Reo's rigs school of customer care... The apple store is it here-we have no other choice and they must know it. I am hugely disappointed with their lack of good customer service. I came here to have the enter key on my macbook popped back in. I came here around 10:00am and they wanted me to schedule a appointment for two or three o clock in the afternoon. The place had some people, but I don't think any were at the genius bar. Anyway i made the appointment and ask if there will be a charge. The girl seem not to be there and she said "well... ummm it really depends on what they find" I responded by saying "all I want is my key popped back in". Her response was "well still" and she walked off. I left and headed to The Mac store, a local owned apple retailer in Beaverton. It took them less then 30 seconds to pop it in and guess what? I was not charged. Why? Because they did what I asked and not try to fix or mess with something that is in fine working order. I've been here a lot just to look at the new macs or iphones. Its usully filled with bunch of whinny little teenagers who are using the free wi-fi to access their myspace. Most of the macs have the desktops fileld with random pictures of kids posing (may I say that is perfect for predators to pop a usb drive in and steal those images) Those who may actually be interested in a mac or ipod have to wait till the kids leave or when they step away move in to look. Its not just kids. College students, young 5 and 6 year olds with grandma and grandpa, single mothers etc. All pack in the store. Staff are clueless at times. Some seem to have no retail experience at all. One disturbing thing is they removed their cash registers. They now have a PDA that has a credit card reader built in. They can swipe your card and enter your information all while people can look over the associate's shoulder to get your card number. If you want a place where staff are knowledgeable and friendly and less packed, head to Beaverton to The Mac Store. Its local owned and run. You'll get a much better experience there. read more

I'm a fan, but sometimes this place can be a little crazy! Even when you have an appointment. I think it has more to do with location than anything. Being in a mall they have lots of foot traffic, but it can be a little much for the wait! When they assist you, you are seen quickly and the staff is friendly! I went in for what I thought was a battery issue, only to be talked into a complete reboot of my phone by a very disinterested and disengaged Apple employee named Chris. Several hours letting I'm left setting up my phone and my watch all over again. I'm beyond livid that none of this was explained to me. Chris made it seem like everything would magically come back from my backup. Yes, all my data came up but I have to go in and literally re-install all my apps and re-set my watch as well. I'm leaving for a trip tomorrow morning and I have not starting packing bc I have to deal with my phone. Thanks for nothing Apple and Chris from Apple in Washington Sq. Mall. For as many staff as work in this location, the ability to actually help customers was lacking. I couldn't make an appointment online because Apple doesn't recognize my AppleID. So I go in and make an appointment and am told it's a 30 minute wait and they'll text me. I use the restroom and go wander around the mall. 30 minutes rolls by and no text, so I return. Another 30 minutes. OK, stuff happens, I leave again. I return for the third time and they tell me it'll be an hour. That puts it after 7 pm. They said they will guarantee me being seen tonight, but they have no idea when. I ask if I can just pay the $99 for the replacement because there's obviously something wrong with it and I get denied. I point out that they are not meeting expectations and this is unacceptable. At this point, I figure I'll just go home and come back. But, before I even clear the threshold of the store, I get a text that they'll see me. The problem I came in for is my phone's questionable ability to charge. The genius takes it and walks to the back. He comes back and tells me that there was some dirt in the port. So, he basically blew some compressed air in it and it's supposed to be fine. It does charge in the store. I waited over an hour for someone to blow some air in my phone... It's ridiculous. So, I take it home and it still won't charge. I'm going to a different Apple Store to see if they'll actually take me seriously. read more

I just left the store and I am not happy. I came in the store today to replace my battery in my IPhone 6. 4 hours later I was told that the iPhone broke and they needed to give me a new one. Besides the time to get to this point I am happy. The phone I had replaced had a screen protector, but I was told that I could not get this replaced. This makes no sense. I came in with a screen protector and come out without one? I called customer service twice and was transferred twice. After five minutes of ringing, music and automated nonsense it hung up. i have never had any complaints about Apple because of their awesome service and my visit today only strengthens that point. i got a pair of headphones from an Apple Store in California. Coming back to Oregon, the headphones eventually frayed in the cord and since it was still under warranty, i wanted to get them replaced. Rather than having to mail them out to the manufacturer directly, i opted to visit Apple. even though i didn't have the receipt, the lady who helped me out was accommodating and she replaced my headphones without any troubles. if you ever have any issues w/ your Apple store purchase, visit Stacey at the Apple store there and she'll take good care of you. I went there last Thursday. Even that it wasn't the closest store that I have, I decided to go there (used to work around the area). Customer service was an A+. The waiting to see a specialist was about 40 min. I was called in only after 20min. They replaced my 3 yrs old iPhone for a new one, same model of course, free of charge. I love to go to places where customer services are friendly and faster to solve your problem. I don't mind to drive up to Washington square and visit again this Apple Store again. read more

The people here are always friendly, knowledgable, and helpful. I walked in today because I upgraded to a new iPhone 6s and needed to port over my data and settings from my old iPhone. I was attempting to do it on my own, just connecting with their Wi-Fi, but was having a few issues. Even though I was a walk in, and had no appointment, they gladly helped me, and I was able to walk out with my new iPhone 6s fully functional and set up the way I wanted it. I dropped off my iPhone 6 plus 6:50 pm for battery replace, waited about one and half hour. While waiting I hear a customer walked in and said "you guy give me the wrong phone" It turn out that was my phone that your tech gave to someone else and which already paid for the repair. So when I try to pay for my repair, your tech said my credit card will use to pay other person repair. They gave other person receipt to me, and I need to give my to him. I got very confuse and said that is not right because the receipt have all my information. While talking to the tech, a senior manager near by and said " sir, you need to low your voice or I will call the police." 1, your tech gave my phone to wrong person, 2, wrong receipt 3, threaten to call the cop. Entire time the manage not said a word of apology. Total time took about 3 hours and I had a senior and kid waiting at the parking lot when all stores are closed. I feel I was treated very unprofessional, complaint to store next day, manager handle that night refuse offer any apology. read more

My only complaint is the Genius Bar... I made an online reservation early in the day and still had to wait over an hour after the appointment to be seen. I sat at the bar listening to one of the off-shift employees discussing details of his laptop with the genius guy. The first time my iTouch wouldn't interface with my WiFi and I was told to lower the security on my router - I actually needed to upgrade my router firmware. The second time I brought in my husband's iPod with the notorious Firewire error (from sweat in the connector, I am sure) and it mysteriously worked in the store and broke again at home. Not big deals, but the fact that I waited over an hour each time to discuss was a problem. read more

After taking my iPhone for a swim, I came here expecting to pay $199 for a replacement phone. After looking at my phone (and confirming that the water sensors were tripped), the salesperson took my phone to the back. When he returned, he said they would replace this under warranty. No real explanation other than they valued my business. So I walked away with a new phone at no cost. Doesn't get any better than that. read more

I love my iPad, but was put off my last visit here. Had a warranty issue taken up here and was somewhat put off by the technician that "helped" me out. My charger for my iPad was not charging. He looked at it and said it was the way I was caring for it and taking it out of iPad. Excuse me? I care very well for my stuff and the last thing I wanna do is take a charger in for a warranty issue for a cheap Apple Charger they charge nearly $20 for and wait for a tech to be an a-hole to me. Learn a little better customer service skills here. Guess they were afraid they were not gonna make $19.99 or whatever off me! This review is for this store and Apple's online/buying process as a whole. Oh god, we buy online, want to pick up in store. We have to wait a very long time for it to go through, which we get. Then it says it's ready for pick up so we make our way to the store. Then, when we get there we check in for a pick up and it takes 20 minutes for an "expert" to come help us. For a pickup. Then when he gets to us he says he cant release it because the phone plan name is under our dad and he isn't with us. Okay, but my billing address is under me, my photo ID, and my card. I also had a piece of mail showing my name related to my billing address. They still were like, ah, tough luck. You gotta change the authorized pick up person. We had to drive home to do this because it needed us to verify ourselves when we logged in based on the code sent to our laptop. WHY?! a double security code to even log in? Whatever. So we log in at home. The button to change the authorized pick up person doesn't even exist. Thanks so much "expert". So, we cancel that order because what else do we do? And re-order but then they flagged us!! As fraud! Because with their system we HAD to cancel and re-order. They wouldn't even give us the ability to change the pick up person. Just shitty service, shitty process, and shitty phone line/website user experience. We don't even want to go through the hassle of ordering ANOTHER fucking phone from them. Thought your UX was supposed to be simple, not infuriating. Thumbs down. read more

Have purchased many Apple items over the years from this store, but recently purchased my first iPod Touch. The tech who helped complete the sale, also helped give me my first trial run on the iPod. Being a novice at using the tiny keyboard, he exhibited a lot more patience than I would have. Sweat dripped off my forehead as I stabbed at the tiny keyboard, trying to avoid typos. The guy stayed with me and never blinked an eye at the extra time it took to set up the iPod. After I got set up for the iTunes Store he said he'd leave me to play with it; but to find him if I ran into trouble. My patience was expended, so I left, but am grateful for how gracious the tech was. read more

Walked in for my appointment and was greeted immediately. They checked me in and had me take a seat towards the back of the store to wait for a technician to help me out. Brian approached me and asked me what I needed assistance with. I gave him a brief description of what had been going on with my MacBook and he got straight to it. I bothered to make an appointment and still took 40 mins to be told that they didn't have the battery and to come back in about a week (when they call). This was annoying but my real issue is with the lack of helpfulness in the staff. If you have an appointment it's really hard to know where to go or who to talk to. I got all the way to the front of the store and stood next to two red-shirted staff. I was waiting for their conversation to lull so that I could ask who to check in with. Then before I could say anything, they just walked off. When I found another staff member (Jeremy) that seemed to be checking customers in, he performed the lowest level of customer service and herded me over to a seat in the waiting area. I was really put off by the feeling that I was an annoyance. Then three other staff members came by to put me through the paces with the last one informing me that they didn't have the battery in stock. I know this might happen but that's 40 mins and when I go back it'll be another 40 (probably). They were busy and I'm sure this battery swap thing is a pain but I will not come back to this location. read more

Worst customer service. I called the Washington Square store and was routed to a technician somewhere in the USA. My 2 year MacBook has color streaks coming across the screen. I wanted 1. an appointment 2. someone to explain how to back up my data. The guy couldn't give an appointment soon enough and wasn't able to explain how to back up my data over the phone. He suggested I go into the store and wait to see someone. I went into the store and the rep told me 1. I couldn't get an appointment until Monday at 5:50 pm. I took another day. 2. She wouldn't take the time to explain how I could back up my data. When I explained I had called and was told to come down and I would get an appointment today (even if it took a while) all she would say is "I can't speak to that" over and over and over. My boyfriend and I just went into this Mac store while we waited for our reservation over at Benihana. I am just about to start medical school and I wanted to buy myself a new laptop and maybe a tablet for taking notes in class. We walked in and browsed a little on our own for about 5 minutes. Once I started having questions and wanted some assistance, no one was around to help. We both stood there by the lap tops for what seemed like 10 minutes, with our heads up looking around, trying to make eye contact with some employees indicating we were ready to be helped. Employees were literally avoiding eye contact with us, and this one woman even walked by and my boyfriend looked at her and said "hey how's it going" and she just walked by and didn't acknowledge us as all. It was the worst customer service I have ever experienced, and after watching employees walk past us to approach an older gentleman and an Asian couple we were astonished and ready to leave. If you are a young white person I would recommend shopping online because a computer could give better customer service than this store. read more

If I could give no stars I would because I walked out with nothing but frustration. I stood there for over 30 minutes and not a single person even said hello! I watched the staff be extremely nice and helpful to families, business men, and all other customers around me. I opened my mouth a couple times to try and get someone's attention when they were done with their customer and they would just walk away from me! I don't know if it's because I was dressed pretty plainly and they thought I just didn't have money or (and I hate to even think this but it still happens to me quite a bit) if it was because I am a lesbian and very much look it. I do actually think that may have been it because there were other people dressed in jeans and tshirts and they were assisted very quickly. Whatever the reason is they've just lost a very good customer. I love apple and all its products and every time the newest thing comes out I just have to upgrade be it a computer, iPad, or latest and greatest "must have" gadget. I walked in to get a look at the latest edition the iPad Pro, the Apple Watch, and some Christmas presents for my family as well. I know losing one $2,000 sale probably won't make much of a difference to the company, but I won't be returning after being treated like that. :( read more

Holly Cow! I left the Apple store and felt great about spending$3000.00. I generally always have buyers remorse but not with Joe. Joe was the p-e-r-f-e-c-t salesman. This was my second time looking at computers this past week. I knew I wanted a Mac and the reasons were very clear ... I want to record my son's earliest years. I originally gulped at the first price which was far lower than what I left with. However, I realized I probably would need a laptop versus the desktop ... and so on and so on. This upgrade was my boyfriend, not Joe. Joe was knowledgeable. They don't get commission at Apple, but there must be some kind of incentive ... bonus??? Joe's knowledge, his enthusiasm and passion for what he was selling was the key. From the laptop to the extras ... he explained why and it all made sense. read more

I have a MacBook from early 2008. I made an appointment with the Genius Bar, and today I brought it in to get a new battery (I have never replaced it, after 4 years). The people at the Mac Store greeted me, checked me in, and guided me through the Sunday crowd to the back. At the Genius Bar, I was able to get a battery for a nice discount (almost 25% off), and the guy ran some quick hardware diagnostics. While doing this, he noticed that there were some chipped bits on the top case (my MacBook is the model that preceded the white unibody MacBook) and replaced it for free! Some people complain that Macs are expensive, but the service I got at the Genius Bar, the convenience of being able to get my computer worked on and returned to me in the same day, and the fact that my Mac still runs fast and functions properly after more than 4 years (unlike the PC I had in college) makes it totally worth it to me. I value CUSTOMER SERVICE and products that LAST (of note, I also have a Toyota, which is now 17 years old and still doing fine!). Today's experience further solidified my loyalty to Apple. My next computer will definitely be coming from this company. Thanks guys!!! read more

I had an appointment for a repair-my iPhone battery would not hold a charge-and was checked in within minutes. The technician was with me in just a few more minutes. He ran diagnostics and said the battery was depleted. He said they could change the battery in an hour and a half. My phone was ready when I returned. The place on weekends is extremely crowded. Service in my experience luckluster at the best, mostly by pimply, tattooed teenagers. Once I asked them to check if anyone returned my keys, the guys said he will check, but never came back. Took me ten minutes to get the rather unfriendly manager to check it - he did not even felt obliged to apologize. Last time I was there the place has a sheer madhouse, was offered an assistance after some ten minutes in the store by a some 70+, disheveled white hair, and a mouth with no teeth in it. Service at the Washington Square Apple Store is normally alright if you make an appointment ahead of time---I did though, and my last two visits I had to wait 30-45 minutes to finally see a technician, which is longer than the appointment itself took. The first technician couldn't fix my software problem, and ended up looking it up on the Internet on my laptop and following some instructions on a forum--still not fixed. The second technician (the third appointment I had to make, by the way, for this problem since the technicians for the first two did not even make a dent on a relatively simple issue) was extremely rude about the whole thing--telling me that he had 8+ years experience and thus knew more than me and for me to shut up and let him do his job basically, though I ended up trying different ideas that actually got me somewhere and better off than where I was with him . At point, he was trying things that the 2nd technician had already tried (I told him so but he went ahead and did it anyway). He was also irrationally rude (took my friend who was with me aback too) about minor questions and often mistook me asking for store stuff (such as sample accounts to run some tests) as me asking him as an employee (took these events as an opportunity to be smugly rude, too) for his stuff. I'm not sure why he did that---after working these "8 years" shouldn't he be familiar with customers saying "you guys" to mean "the store" and not actually "you"? Felt like it was just an opportunity for him to be rude again. It may have been worth it had he actually fixed anything, but he basically just repeated what the first visit achieved--I told him so too, but he didn't listen). After these 8 years, I'm not sure why Apple hasn't let him go yet. I almost feel like he wouldn't have been so patronizing and telling me, the customer, to shut up if I weren't a 20-something. I don't think he'd have the guts to tell people his age to shut up. Anyway, I have AppleCare extended warranty and will be making good use of it (they are rather nice and generally competent) instead of having to waste time and patience on these incompetence and rudeness. The technicians aren't engineers and aren't very technically skilled--better find an authorized service shop or try to get your macbook to an apple repair center...those guys really know their stuff. read more

went in today because my computer would keep shutting down every time i disconnected it. even though i was 15 minutes late (217 traffic was so bad) for my appointment at the genius bar, mike still saw me and went through everything to make sure they knew what the problem was. :) we figured out that my battery was dead and he didn't pressure me into buying a new battery. he even offered to replace my keyboard and the thing my keyboard lays on for FREE! so cool. so now my macbook looks brand new. thanks mike! :) read more
