When we mentioned that to our server, he said, " you will be fine ", and he walked away. We were confused by his comment as it did not make any sense to us. I've tried to keep giving this restaurant a try, but they've failed every single time. I've never seen a restaurant where the food can be absolutely horrible every single time. Management is absolutely terrible too. Went there last night and ordered the 2/25 which was a little more because I got the bourbon chicken and shrimp and sirloin. The chicken was horrible. Two of the 5 shrimp was black as they were old and three were almost a bright white color. Before I left I decided to open the steak and immediately I almost threw up from the stitch that came out of the food. I took a bite of the steak and taste of the broccoli and it tasted just like it smelled. I called the bartender and told her I wanted it remade. This is how much they have a I don't give a shit cook and manager. He literally cooked fish and threw the steak and broccoli in the same thing he'd just taken the fish out of and that's why it had the disgusting fishy smell and taste and mind you this was a steak and broccoli. When she called the manager, she literally came over and asked what was wrong, I told her to smell it. She said she wasn't going to. Imagine that. She then asked if I wanted something else and I said I want what I ordered. She told the bartender to take it back and have it remade and walked away. No apology or anything. It was apparent then that this is the very reason they have that sorry awful cook in the kitchen because they have management like her. Old retired bartender in a supper club environment, so, find it is entertaining to watch the young do this, a professional skill. Caught the genuine smile of Kat, our server. Stopped in for an early dinner with an elderly friend yesterday, Oct. 27. Our server was great! She was pleasant and helpful. We each decided to add 5 boneless chicken wings for a $1 to our respective orders. Our food was delivered by someone who had not taken our order. This resulted in food items being served to the wrong person. The boneless chicken wings are basically chicken nuggets and the coating on each nugget is *very* thick and *very* crunchy/hard. I would not order them again. I ordered their Signature Mushroom Swiss Burger with fries. When the server asked whether I wanted "pink" in my burger, I told her "no". My burger arrived, picture perfect, and the fries were hot. However, when I cut my burger in half, I found pink in the middle, and also very few sautéed mushrooms. The burger certainly did not look like the one pictured on their menu. In general, the burger was okay, but was nothing special. Also, all food was very salty. Not gonna lie, the $2 cocktails drew me in. You can't beat that. I have been to multiple Applebee's before and they are about what you would expect from a chain restaurant. I will have to give props though to the AV location, they have really stepped it up in terms of service and pricing since I last stepped foot in an Applebees. I used to just come in for 1/2 prices apps late at night with college friends but their menu has gotten better with better pricing and more options to choose from. My wife and I were able to get 4 cocktail drinks, an appetizer, and two entrees for only $30. Not bad. Food was decent and our service was great. Our waitress was phenomenal (and she had been there all day!). She was friendly, prompt, and just a fun gal to chat with. I know they can be hit or miss, but AV seems to be doing something right. We did the buy a gift card get a gift card free promotion. Our free gift card was never activated apparently. When we tried to use it the waitress said it was empty and she asked if I wanted the manager. I said yes. The manager told me it was empty and I probably used it already. I said I never used it. She basically called me a liar. After about 10-15 mins of talking to her, showing her our bank receipts showing when we bought it. She fi ally agreed to take the $10 off our bill. Tonight I experienced the best service at any Applebees before. Me and 5 friends showed up at 11:30 for some happy hour apps. They told us the kitchen closed at 11:30 and we were totally understanding and went out back to the car. Where to start, where to start?!? We placed an order for the whole family and of all the entrees to make incorrectly they made my husbands order wrong after spending the day away from family. He called to inform them that his Smokey Chicken Ravioli was in fact some kind of a penne dish with alfredo sauce. When on the phone they apologized for the mistake and said they would remake his dish. So he left to pick up his replacement order while the rest of the family ate. When he returned and opened his dish he again received the wrong order, again some kind of penne pasta this time with a cheese/tomato sauce. Rather irritated he called again and asked to speak to a manager. When she came onto the phone and my husband explained that it has been an hour of placing orders and driving back and forth and he told her that if in fact they do not offer ravioli they should remove it from the menu (given the confusion on two orders in the same 1 hour period). She assured him ravioli is in fact on the menu and offered a few excuses. The first being that they have new cooks and that with Covid-19 they are going to have a kitchen staff meeting in the morning and this incident would be discussed. She preceded to offer to cook his meal personally or credit our card, and since he was beyond irritated he said he would find a meal at home and that a credit to our card is all that he was interested at this point. Does the kitchen staff need to be educated on the difference of noodles that are stuffed and those that are not stuffed? A mistake between penne and ziti would be acceptable my eyes. They obviously need to rehire new kitchen staff or implement an intensive training program. After my husband being gone all day my family had to eat dinner without him just for him to finish his day frustrated when an order in for dinner should alleviate the stress of the day away from each other. We went there multiple times in the past few years and we were very disappointed by service every time. When we went there for the first time in years the service was absolutely terrible. The server was very quick but from what we could see had maybe 3 or 4 tables and would just disappear for around 10 minutes. We wanted to give Applebees another chance and we were so very disappointed very quickly. When we got there today it wasn't busy at all and we weren't asked if we preferred a booth or a table and were sat right by the door. They also just put the silverware down and napkins and walked off very quickly. Now it wasn't that we were sat by the door or were just given silverware quickly . The problem was 6 times people walked past us and didn't ask if we wanted anything to drink. We sat there for 5 minutes without anyone asking anything or even looking at us. The food is not horrible but it could definitely be better as they only added/changed 2 things. We weren't excited about the "new" menu. We decided with not having anyone talk to us and nothing exciting or new on the menu that we should leave. read more

I was surprised that when I walked in and straight to belly up at the bar I was greeted and welcomed before finding a seat. That was nice. AnnaMarie was the bartender. Some brown lettuce in my salad. They took the salad off my bill without asking. They did ask me if I wanted another salad and my answer was No. The staff seemed friendly. 2 Managers including the GM actually asked how I was doing. Nice touch. I like the Applebee's menu, specials and lighter eating options for lunch. The drink specials are an added bonus. Grilled chicken Caesar: chicken was almost under cooked. Otherwise it was bland with little flavor. Even the dressing seemed weak. Pasta and mashed potatoes for child: child didn't like the mashed potatoes (and he Loves potatoes). Took one bite of the pasta and wanted to go home for a hotdog. Cedar salmon: order came out wrong, which server corrected (her mistake). Fish was dry and bland, half charred. Ot was supposed to have a maple-mustard glaze on it, and I'm told it had no such thIng anywhere on it (or it was charred off). Broccoli side was unseasoned, just steamed. The garlic fries smelled of garlic, but had no flavor of garlic and we're also a bit bland. Our son seemed to like them though. Soda refills were continuous, and it was immediate seating as they were not at all busy. So, in hindsight, the lack of customers could be shown as a direct reflection on the quality of the food. Old Chicago just a block away had a 30 to 45 minute wait while this Applebee's was not busy in the slightest. Service overall was average, food was below average for the cost and quantity. This is the first time in a couple years we've been to this restaurant, and it hasn't really changed between then and now. It'll be another couple years before we come back again. read more

Went for lunch today with my Mom. I wanted to go somewhere else. However, even though I was buying, I can't argue with Mom. The food was pretty good and Natalie, our server was great. She owned up to a mistake she made on our drink order and fixed it immediately as well as keeping my pop glass full. I did have issue with the Monday specials (on food) being better after 4:PM instead of all day like some of the competition, i.e. where I wanted to go.
