Have been to this location a few times for lunch in the last few months. Always very good.... Went for dinner this week and was expecting a good meal. Saw the ads for the "neighborhood " pasta. So we went on my recommendation.. lack luster service , I didn't like the pasta choices so I ordered the Asian chicken wings and a Caesar side salad.. my wife order the stuffed pasta dish.. the salads were Meh but tasted ok.. took longer than it should to serve the main course. The wings were horrible.. seemed left over.. swimming in a very sugary glaze.. I felt like Gordon Ramsey in a restaurant from hell episode. My wife's stuffed pasta seemed left over ..pasta very gluey . Over cooked and very bland. Had to ask for the bread sticks that supposed to come with it. 5 min later they came to the table .... left feeling like Wow what happened. Ok back at this local spot. Just arrived and the cute little lady at the door has a quip ready at the draw (which immediately sets the mood. Jess behind the bar is super nice also. Ordered the triple bacon burger. Tried to get a black and blue but no crumbs to be had. Food is on par for the price point but does falter at times. horrible service tables were still with empty cups and napkins and plates and utensils from the previous people that had not been cleaned off bathrooms were horribly messy when was the bathroom had no tissue in the stalls the water doesn't go down in the ladies restroom sink!!! Don't go here. While there is some value in "knowing what you're going to get" by choosing a chain restaurant like this one, the service here is an absolute joke. We sat at the bar and the bartender seemed to be everywhere in the restaurant except behind the bar helping her patrons. Took forever to get drinks and food. The worst part was that, after she rang us up using the little touchscreen computer, she tried tricking us into letting HER fill out the customer-experience survey!! Okay, we get there at 8:30 PM and and we instantly know this isn't going to be good. The host sits us down and we see the server (Juliana )be totally frustrated that she has a table this late. We order and then she begins to tell us that the entrees come with specific sides when I asked asked can't I have garlic green beans? She said " yeah" once my steak came out which I order medium rare, this came WELL WELL done. My wife's ribs and fries that came out looked and tasted like they have been sitting there from the lunch rush. This is by no means Juliana's or the cooks fault. This type of customer service and pathetic attempt to cook an entree shows a complete lack of leadership and supervision. Shame on management for having no quality control over food going out. Shame on management for letting this type of customer service go unchecked. Forget that my order was over 2 hours late.. that's another companies review. When I did finally get my order, the lunch combo pasta contained 13 noodles and 4 1/2 small pieces of chicken for the pasta, and was cold... not warm... cold! The alfredo sauce for the bread sticks was also cold and set. The bread on the sandwich was not toasted, but soggy, and the cheese was congealed. The lettuce for the salad and the sandwich was soggy and old, and the shrimp for my salad were hard to find, and when found were lack luster. I've had better food at a low scoring fast food restaurant. My friends actually went and bought fast food... angry and disappointed does little to describe how I am feeling right now. read more

We went to the Applebee's in Bernalillo, NM and could not believe how horrible it was from the time we entered and no one was at the reception desk for almost 10 minutes. Then it took awhile for the waitress to take our orders. We did not receive our food for another 45 minutes! When the first dishes came, the cheeseburger had no cheese or fries and they had to take it back. The riblets and fries for another dish or lukewarm, the child's pizza was fine but they forgot to bring her lemonade. My baby back ribs came with garlic mashed potatoes and broccoli. The broccoli was refrigerator cold, had not even been heated. The mashed potatoes were cold. The ribs were lukewarm. The manager came over And told me he would bring me new side dishes which she did but it took another 15 minutes. My grandson's chocolate milk took another 15 minutes to bring. The manager was very sorry and took five dollars off the bill but that didn't make up for the poor food or service. read more

Came to lunch with my co works as a going away for one of them. I waited 50 minutes for a salad and a sandwich. All my co workers got their food and I didn't until it was time to leave. When the food was finally brought it was the wrong salad and wrong dressing. Very upset with this experience. Do not recommend. Airport prices with airport quality. This was the only place to get a meal after 9pm so we gave it a shot. What a mistake. Paid $32 for an order of doughy bread sticks, a burger with fries and 2 beers. Flavorless beers on tap and about the saddest burger I've ever had the misfortune of seeing on a plate. Barely above McDonalds in quality and quantity. You'll get a better meal at a much lower price at the Taco truck up the street. This Applebee's was well kept and clean, but the service was less than appealing. We waited for what felt like 15 minutes to have our drink and food orders taken. Really disappointed. it took 30 mins to be served soup and salad and riblet basket. Wife's salad was pitiful. Horrible experience. I went out for my daughters birthday and this horrible wait staff ruined it and made her cry by bringing her applesauce instead of actual desert. She was three. I ordered my steak and the cow was basically alive (very raw). My husband complained to the staff and the manager seemed very unapologetic and shrugged it off. Worst food EVER! Other reviews complain about the service but we like the New Yorker bartender and the other wait staff. The manager could stand to a)not show infomercials on football sundays and b) not be such a snot in general, but...the people actually doing the work here are cool. The food is the most god-awful slop I've ever tasted! Horrible! Mac and cheese with chicken and you can't taste the difference between the Mac-n-slime and the chicken. Ordered shrimp and chicken with roasted potatoes-obviously poured oil over the whole plate and lit it on fire. Yes-it was "sizzling" but the chicken was roasted dry, the shrimp was raw and the potatoes were soggy with oil...and raw inside! Then the server Nick began our experience off by instantly making excuses about how busy he was which we found strange since the restaurant was not that busy at all and we counted 6-7 servers in restaurant mostly just hanging around. The soup portion was small and was not hot, also asked 2 different times for a damn spoon! Ran out of water and we should NEVER had to ask for refills of water, in fact Nick kept disappearing to the kitchen and we had to ask the bartender for water. Unacceptable. As we were finishing our dinner, Nick decided to come over and tell us how when he arrived at work he was informed that 2 cooks called off and other employees as well and that they even ran out of soda... MORE EXCUSES! Businesses should still run smoothly regardless of "call offs". Also he wanted us to know that NEXT TIME we come in he'd buy us a drink, wtf?! And that his regulars come in and ask for him and he's a man of his word. Everyone should receive excellent service regardless if they are "regulars" or not. And why buy me a drink next time? This exceeded my expectations by far, and the location of it furthers its potential. I believe that this restaurant has the ability to bring in more customers by reaching out to the community. Some examples could be an idea like a trivia night with friends and if you bring more than 2 or 3 people drinks are half off. I may be looking at this from a different perspective but connected communities are better communities. Also, if you do find yourself at Applebee's the Butter Pecan Blondie is a must-try. Another idea that came to my mind was that they could make more "light" meals for people looking to lose weight or just eat healthier. All in all the Applebee's in Bernalillo, New Mexico is an exceptional example of an easy, family friendly, weekly, go-to restaurant. read more

We have had food and drinks here twice. The food is not that bad but, the service is horrible! Yesterday, the overweight bartender spent his time talking to the other customers (seemed like friends) and completely had to be called over 3x to get another drink, order food, and even get the check. Most of the wait staff is standing in the corners visiting. Will probably go back....just cuz we have very few options in Bernalillo. Just hoping the manager figures out some of the problems and resolves their issues. read more
