We had a gift card we have been wanting to use so headed to Bardstown Road Applebee's that is easy to access off the Snyder freeway sitting in front of a strip mall. We went at 5.30 and it was not very busy and we were seated right away in a booth by the front windows. Our waitress Nadia was extremely efficient, polite and meet all our needs. She was professional and friendly. She brought our waters quickly and noticed when our drinks were running low and refilled accordingly. I don't care for all you can eat menus but with that being said I opted for that selection anyway. I wanted the ribs with fried and slaw. But for a couple dollars more you can have all you can eat riblets, boneless chicken wings, fried shrimp and French fries that was served with a small dish of coleslaw. Between my husband and I we tried all the dishes. The riblets were good and had plenty of meat on them. French fries were hot and crispy, coleslaw was creamy and sweet. He liked the fried shrimp and I had the garlic parmesean boneless wings that were excellent. Not that we needed dessert but I didn't wanna leave $10 on the gift card so we had a piece of apple pie, with caramel sauce and ice cream. It was served warm andcwas delicious. The waitress didn't rush us but checked back often to see if we wanted additional food or to check if we needed water. Okay, y'all might seriously be sleeping on Applebee's. I randomly ended up going after 9pm and found out they have late night happy hour with half priced appetizers, and honestly the portions were way bigger than I expected for the price. I ordered the buffalo wings and got the extra hot buffalo sauce on the side because I wasn't trying to risk ruining my wings if it ended up being unbearably spicy. Best decision honestly because I could control the heat, and the wings themselves were fresh, flavorful, and cooked really well. The mozzarella sticks were also so good. Super hot, crispy, cheesy, and exactly what you want from mozz sticks. Now let's talk about the sangria because THAT was the star of the night for me. I believe the big sangria was only around $6, which honestly feels kind of insane for how good it was. The second I squeezed the orange into it, I was sold. It was refreshing, flavorful, and dangerously easy to drink. Definitely one of those drinks where you immediately start planning when you're coming back for another one. read more

Kenzie was wonderful as a waitress. I thought that the chicken parm fettuccine was one of the best things I've had at Applebee's in years. It was Independence Day and we were heading out to do some trail hiking and thought Applebee's would be a great place to have lunch. We'd been to this location a time or two and it was on the way so, Why Not? We arrived a little before lunch, so the place wasn't crowded and we were seated immediately. Our server got to us about 5 minutes after we were seated. Our server (whose name now escapes me) was pleasant and, since it took a few minutes for him to get to us, we were ready to order when he finally did. I've been on a bowl kick lately, so I opted for the Southwest Chicken Bowl. Food delivery took about ten minutes (not bad, given the time of day) and presented very nicely. It was good (and healthy!), but not outstanding. Having tried bowls from California Pizza Kitchen, Chili's, Jason's Deli and a number of other places, I'd say this was pretty right-in-the-middle. Not the best (that trophy goes to CPK), but definitely worth having again. We used to eat at Applebee's more frequently than we do now and it was actually nice to see that they've scaled back on the overwhelming décor they used to sport. Yea, movie posters and memorabilia, sports posters and memorabilia are nice, but I think that age has passed. The walls are much calmer now, much more nicely decorated with a more local slant. The service was pretty average, given it was Independence Day and still early in the business day. It wasn't AWESOME. While our server was interested in conversing with guests, he did tend to linger at a couple tables at the expense of our dining experience. Iced tea refills had to wait, and when it came time to cash out it took him longer than it should have to get our bill to us. All together not a bad dining experience. Pretty average. Applebee's location that is just off bardstown road in the fern creek portion of Lousiville Kentucky. Located kn a very heavily populated area of other shops and fast food places. This Applebee's I probably know frequent the most because it is the closest one to my home. I'll do the curbside pickup majority of the time but I have dined in here a few times. The service here is usually pretty good and they keep the place well upkept from my experiences. My go to Applebee's meal is either the steak sirloin or the chicken quesadilla. Depends if I'm eating clean or not on what meal I order. Applebee's is a pretty large franchise so I'm sure most know if they like there food or not. I like it for the lost part. It isn't top of the line cuisine but it's a nice, tasty and affordable family restaurant which is perfect for my family. Overall solid location that hasn't disappointed me yet. Always seem accurate with my orders and quote reliable pickup times for my curbside orders. read more

Five stars isn't something I often give to chain restaurants, but this Applebees is top notch when it comes to food and service. I came for dinner on a Saturday night and was promptly greeted by the hostess and led to a booth down 'in the pit' (as our waitress called it) by the bar area. Our waitress (I believe her name was Missy) was super awesome. She was friendly, attentive, and had the type of personality that just made you feel welcome. I also have to give a shout out to the kitchen staff- never have I EVER had such hot, fresh, delicious food at an Applebees before. I was honestly taken aback because I never expect much from chain restaurants, but this one is really on their A game. Also, the new sweet and spicy chicken sandwich is my favorite thing ever. I'm going to ignore the fact that we happened to walk in just before this place was slammed with people and the kitchen couldn't keep up that well. Our waitress handled it like a champ and my date and I having worked in the food industry before were very understanding. It's not like we had to be anywhere anyways. I ordered the bourbon bbq bacon burger. The bbq sauce was mixed with Fireball whiskey so it had that cinnamon tangy twist to it. I've never tasted anything like it. I wonder what that would taste like on ribs? Or even a steak? We both indulged on a couple $1 vodka strawberry lemonades they advertised this month before settling on the big frozen apple ginger concoction. This restaurant has been in our rotation since we moved into the neighborhood a few years ago. We have had issues at other locations (those locations no longer exist) but Fern Creek is usually fairly consistent in food quality and service. When there is a problem with the food, they have always corrected the problem. The few servers that tend to be a problem are easily avoided and usually disappear in a few weeks. Monday night the food was hot, tasty and cooked to order. What made the night special though was the service. Our waiter (he gave his name and I failed to note it...) was outstanding. After seating us, he informed us he would be our server and offered to take drink orders. We each ordered a before dinner drink and placed a drink order to have with our meal. Less than 3 minutes later we were enjoying our beverages. Appetizers were out in short order, and meals followed as we finished the first course. Never rushed, and never intrusive, but always there at just the right time to refill a drink or clear away unneeded dishes. I double checked the bill afraid something may have been left off but of course, it was correct. I've paid far more at other places and was less impressed than we were on Monday. This Applebee's has a great staff, particularly "Crazy Dave". Their food quality is a little hit and miss. I went today, and Melissa was my server. She did a great job, and was very friendly and helpful. I had a sirloin with a Caesar Salad and broccoli. The Caesar and broccoli were excellent. I ordered the steak medium-well, and it came out quite well-done. Regardless, the flavor was good. Melissa was very willing to have it re-made, but I opted to go with it the way it was. Based on many other visits here, I would rank the food as a "4". They usually have a manager come by and ask if you are happy with your meal, and that is good. They advertised endless fries but waitress never came while I ate food and never asked if I wanted more. I didn't but wish they would ask. The taco salad was good but it was really lacking meat and salsa. Waitress never asked if we needed anything and water glasses were empty through the meal.
