We had a fantastic late lunch. Our waitress Sue did an excellent job, very welcoming and friendly. We started off with the quesadilla appetizer and that was delicious. The pico de gallo salsa in the quesadilla was amazing. They for sure have Mexican cooks in the kitchen because the quesadilla was on point! I had a bacon burger that was a phatty I had to smash it down to be able to take a bite. They have a brownie bite with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for only $1.00 and that was fantastic. The kids pizzas were burnt on the top over half the pizza was burnt so the kids would not eat it Yeah it's we tried it twice been over $200 and no we're not gonna do that one again. My friend and I ate dinner at Applebee's in Modesto on Saturday night. We both ordered the chicken parmesan dinner and chicken wings for appetizers. The "chicken wings" were not wings at all but rather really over cooked chicken nuggets. In addition, we ordered half parmesan "chicken wings" and half BBQ. The parmesan "chicken wings" did not have parmesan seasoning in the batter on the chicken, instead it had some parmesan flakes sprinkled on top. The chicken parmesan dinner was just nasty tasting. We ordered a sampler platter and a pick 3 ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!! I have never been served food that low in quality. The wings looked like dry balls of breading that had sat under a heat lamp for hours, the cheese on top of the spinach dip was literally a hard solid piece of cheese, the cheese sticks were hard and just snapped like a stick when you bit into them. All of the food was Luke warm at best! When I told the server about the wings, he brought me new ones saying they were fresh out of the fryer... they might have been microwaved for 30 seconds before being brought to our table! went in yesterday at around 6, it was so damn cold up in there they should've had a warning sign outside that you'd be leaving modesto & entering alaska. i asked the server if they could turn the a/c up & warm it up, she mentioned that she had already asked but she'd ask again ( it was my first time asking so i'm assuming someone else complained about it ) i heard the table behind me also talking about how cold it was & how it felt like it was 40 degrees in there. i completely agree. i scarfed down my mozzarella sticks as soon as they got to the table. i felt the a/c finally turn off for a total of about 2 minutes, then i felt the breeze of alaska come through the air vent again, which i think has to be a damn portal coming from alaska. i had one bite of eat plate & could not get myself to eat because i kid you not it was that cold. i paid for the food that i couldn't enjoy & tried to catch as much sun as i could before it went down. the waitress was nice, nothing against her at all, the temperature change from inside that restaurant to the 70 degrees it was outside was about to give me early arthritis. read more

The really big deal meal. The new burger or chicken sandwich with fries and drink on special really miss lead us to come into Applebee's to try the special just to find out that it was discontinued or no longer on special. We saw on TV. There was a commercial for a chicken sandwich with a drink and fries for 999 and we thought that was a great deal so we thought we'd come in and try it but when we sat down and ordered some water with no ice and we went to order our food we were told the specialist is no longer available. We would love to try the chicken sandwich or the burger but unfortunately, I think the deal is over at least for the one in Modesto by the mall if we were to try this new sandwich that was available that's not available anymore. So I order steak with the added Parmesan and shrimp on top also added to some cheese broccoli they called it not knowing it's 4.99 for a light sprinkle of some cheese. There was three of us so the servers bringing out the food. There's three servers one for each plate,Lady has hands me my plate and my wife's.Server lady stares at us and says we would really appreciate if you cut into your steak to make sure it's fine while we wait. I laughed and said this is weird. I've never had three people stare at me while I cut into my steak. So whatever steak looks well done it was supposed to be medium. I said yeah it looks good thinking I'll just deal with it. my fault I could complain, but I don't normally like to. So I realize there's no Parmesan cheese on top of the steak. I tell the waitress I thought this was supposed to have cheese on top of it. She said oh I'll go get you some I said wait a minute isn't it supposed to be melted on top of it she's like yeah, I'm thinking how are you gonna go get that? So I said no I want to eat. I have complained about this Applebees over a couple yrs and talked several times to a manager. So we just quit going. We decided it's been awhile let's get car side. Sooo awful. I got chicken Alfredo no broccoli. Thank goodness I asked for extra sauce. It had none. And checked the bag I had to tell them it's missing. Got cheese sticks. So those are not supposed to be cool and chewy rubber. My chicken was 3 big odd shaped pieces that was not cooked all the way. Not hot. My daughter had chicken strips and fries they were cold. I work in the Restaurant industry, First impression was not bad since I sat myself @ The bar and was greeted by Jessica right away and served me a Beer with a smile. I then noticed many guest waiting at the front without a host or a Buser but one server and Jessica my bar tender slash everything else. I asked her were Manager was and she made a look as she had no idea of his location. Then I saw a mad looking person who stood like a statue(He is a JOKE of a Manager) never supported Jessica who was all over the place. Serve bustled over their tables, not ours. Steak was RAW, Sent it back, server asked if we wanted to just eat the sides while we waited for steak . We declined. It's been awhile since I've been back to Modesto and grabbing a beer with an old friend can be tough when everything is closed again in Modesto.. wear you damn masks and no large gatherings.. The waiter/waitresses did a great job leading by example by wearing their masks. Our server was Gabriela. My friend was indecisive with the beer selection they have on tap, but our server was patient and kind enough to offer tasters before ordering our talls. Shout out to Gabriela for the great hospitality and service and the chefs that day. Everything was on point. Management did a great job with the outside dining experience. What would make this a better outdoor dining experience for future guests is an outdoor patio heater. Beers could only do so much haha. read more
