We've been staying at the North Conway Grand and my family and I decided to go to this Applebee's as it is our 10 year old sons birthday. He's autistic and sometimes can be loud however we were disgusted to overhear the bartenders and servers speaking loud enough to hear them. The words they exchanged were rude and gross to hear as a mother. They were ridiculing my son for his behavior, something he cannot control. As someone in the industry, it was embarrassing and disrespectful to see such workers being so inhumane to our son. Our meal was subpar and I'm extremely disappointed. Applebee's, do better. Hi, was in North Conway for two nights with the family and went to this restaurant twice. Always go here when I'm in town and have seen this restaurant progressively get worse as time goes by. Food is getting greasier every time I go and the wait times are astronomical. Not because it's busy, but because there's no staff. This isn't just a Covid thing, it started before Covid. Waiting for a table for 30 minutes when there's only about 10 people in the restaurant. Sent them an email and got a " sorry we had staff call in sick " line fed to me. Absolutely terrible! The pasta I get every time always comes out cold, undercooked and dry along with most of the other food they serve. Also don't do car side to go because they don't inform you when your food will be ready and apparently you need to text you are there for them to bring it out learned the hard way by my food being ready for 20 minutes not knowing.. read more

Waitresses greeted us with attitude and though they were closing early, we were there with plenty of time to order, eat and be out the door. We received attitude for ordering waters and not having our order ready yet. Waitresses need to be retrained or find jobs elsewhere. read more

Just tried stopping by, saw many empty tables and figured great! Then we were told an hour wait. Sorry, but no restaurant is worth an hour wait, but especially not Applebee's. Not sure why so long with so many empty tables (probably about half the restaurant). But that's a great way to lose customers. read more

I tend to visit Applebee's wherever I'm at as a safe choice as to enjoying meals. This location is kinda weird on the layout, big pot hole that will swallow your car as you drive in so beware! The entrance is kind of out of the way and not obvious at first glance. Hostess's weren't the most pleasant and it seemed like everyone appeared to not be enjoying their jobs at all, come on it was a Saturday night which would make it perfect to earn extra on tips with a smile. I must say our waitress was actually pleasant and seemed like the only one in the place who was even remotely enjoying themself. Food was great as well came out hot and fresh to where I couldn't even eat it for a good 5 minutes without burning my tongue. if you're handicap don't bother coming to this Applebee's they'll try to shove you in the smallest booth they can find and if you want something different I'll throw you in the back room even though there's a table right next to you that's completely empty " it's reserved for larger groups" it had one extra chair compared to where we were at the booth read more

We were staying next door in the Quality Inn, and ordered from the take out menu several times. All the food we ordered was ready on time, hot, tasty and decent portions. I would certainly recommend this location to eat at if you're in North Conway. The staff were friendly and efficient. read more

We stopped here on a fall weekend when they were packed! Surprisingly, the service was excellent and quick. Only downfall was our food temperature was pretty displeasing. Whoever manages the kitchen in the morning is amazing! Whenever I go for lunch it is the best food I've ever had. My pasta is always perfect and my appetizers are warm, tender and fresh. I've gone here for dinner a few times and have experienced frozen cucumbers on my salad and over battered haddock. During lunch is perfect, though. Whoever is working in the mornings should be carried over into the evening. Service is always great though. Timely, polite and well worth a tip. Not sure why we thought to try Applebee's in North Conway since there are sooooo many great "non chain" restaurants up here. Big mistake! Should have known better because when we sat down there were 2 tables across from us with dirty dishes piled up that looked like they have been there for a long time. Then I heard the table behind us ask where their food was, another bad sign! We only ordered chicken tender basket and platter and a chicken fajita wrap. After 25 minutes the waiter came by and said the food should be out shortly. After 35 minutes another waitress brought it over and everything was cold! So obviously the food was just sitting there and our waiter Mike dropped the ball! So no I would not recommend, place just looked dirty and not sure where management was.... I was fine when I waited 25 minutes past my pickup time, what really did it for me was ordering 70$ worth of food, toting it back to the hotel and finding out that two out of three meals wernt complete , one was fish and chips and all I got was a piece of fish and then a chicken tender meal with just chicken nothing else, no condiments I ordered but they did put 10000 ketchup packets in the bottom of the bag of stone cold food.... read more

Showed up around 3 pm and the restaurant was not busy. Hostess said 10-15 minutes, okay. Waited and was sat in the bar area. Server came over after about 15 minutes and got our drinks quickly! Came back and got our orders. Four apps, a Salad, and a soup. Tables around us who were sat after us were given their food and we kept waiting. I have been a server for 4 years so I have a lot of patience and understanding. A table next to us left after both their orders came out wrong AFTER being brought back to the kitchen twice. When our food finally arrived about 40-45 minutes after ordering, it was COLD. Not even warm and edible but cold! The buffalo chicken was freezing with a cold sauce thrown on top. No blue cheese or ranch as requested. Quesadillas as well as mozzarella sticks were all clearly left in the kitchen and forgotten about. Sad because we were hungry :(. No salad or soup until after we asked. Sadly the server just came by and said they were understaffed, which I would have totally understood if I didn't see 16 employees walk through the small restaurant in a span of 10 minutes. I've been to this Applebee's many times and have had many solid experiences. However, this place has really gone downhill in the last year. On our latest visit (aug 2018) - we sat at the bar. Beers were fresh, cold and perfect. We ordered a burger to split and some boneless chicken nuggets. The burger was such a disappointment. Flavorless, dry - sad. Honestly, could get a better burger at Burger King. On to the nuggets: yikes, I couldn't imagine serving such a thing to anyone. They were chewy pieces of leather tossed in an orange sauce. We had a terrible experience here. The place was busy, but we got in within the time they thought we'd have to wait. All was good! We sat in a booth and ordered. About 10-15 minutes the booths on either side of us were occupied. They both got their food and ours had not arrived. The server was aware of our plight and said it was coming soon. Ten minutes later an order came that was not our order. The manager had a busy night as a nearby table had complained their service...and than came by ours to find out our issue. Like no food?! The couple who had been seated just before us were headed out the doors with their excess food in hand.The manager told us he'd be right back with an explanation. He never came back! I figured we were due s free meal and some sort of coupon to try and encourage us to possibly return. We left with no food, no explanation and a bad feeling about this Applebee's. I used to love Applebee's. I would go there during my free period at the end of the day with friends, coworkers after a long day, my family on my birthday, I mean I must have gone to this Applebee's at least twenty times in the past year and not until the last two times I went, was I disappointed. I went there on July 13th for a friends birthday and we mentioned it and they sang and it was great our waitress was very nice and deserved the $17 tip we left. Before this though, we did wait 25 minutes for a table, I expect this in the summer though, no big deal. I then brought my twelve year old cousin here maybe two weeks later for lunch. It was almost 2 PM and we were seated at a high top table. Our waitress was the bartender and she was nice but got our orders wrong. I ordered a Caesar salad, she gave me the appetizer portion and not the meal portion. My cousin was given two small appetizers when she had ordered two normal portions. The waitress just assumed what portions we wanted and then didn't offer us dessert. I didn't like explaining to my twelve year kid cousin why we had to leave because of the bad service we received. Then, another two weeks later I went with a friend of mine and our pasta was so over cooked, mozzarella sticks were cold and once again, not offered dessert after not being able to eat even a quarter of the meal. We were seated at the same high top table I had been at the visit before with the waiter also being the bartender. I will not be coming back to this Applebee's anytime soon, I will take my business elsewhere. read more

Now there are quite a few better choices in the area but I have a gift card for 2 years and thought I get rid of it tonight. So I went to eat hete. I hate the parking lot set up. You park in the rear and walk to the front and the lot is always tight for parking. We get in and there is a crowd standing around and no hostess. She was hustling to solve an issue and wasn't getting any assistance from the manager. We finally were able to get our name on the list. 10 minute wait. About 20 went by and the manager appeared and told the hostess not to seat anyone because the kitchen was backed up. There were two couples waiting to be seated. You could see empty tables all around. So I'm guessing that not enough help on a Saturday night was not scheduled to work. So when we were told and we left. My daughters and I ate there Saturday 11/09, we waited for a table while there were like 5 tables available in the bar and no one was sitting there. when we got our table our waitress was obviously new but she brought the drinks and appetizers right out. but our main meal took like 45 minutes and we were never told why the service was so slow and when we got the meals two of them were stone cold. the waitress said she was very sorry but never took the plates away. i understand it was busy but they should of been way more ready for this crowd.
