Went there last Saturday night at about 8 pm. There were 10 to 12 empty tables, but we were told there was a twenty minute wait to be seated because they were short busboys to clean all the empty tables. We went ahead and waited, and during the 20 minutes watched the hostess, a waiter and a manager stand around staring at each other because no one could be seated at the dirty tables. God forbid anyone else pick up a bus tub and a rag. Finally after the wait, we were seated at a dirty table that the hostess wiped off after we sat down. Then we waited another 15 minutes and no one ever came to the table to wait on us, so we finally gave up and left. That was my third and final bad experience there. I won't be back. read more

The free meal for veterans is a joke. You only get 7 entrees to choose from. 6 of the 7 are 1200 calories or more. If you want something other than water to drink it costs extra. If you want bread, unless it is a burger, it costs extra. I had to get up and go get my own utensils. I had to ask twice for the bread that I ordered when I originally placed my order. The meal was ok. But the rice was dry. It had apparantly been sitting under a heat lamp. The waitress was a nice girl. But she was not all that efficient. Only been here once before and wasn't that happy but nothing really bad to say. Trued it again because of the dollar margaritas and wasn't feeling any better about the visit. First the margaritas tasted just like the mix. Second, there were several workers off the clock eating and they kept going back and forth to the kitchen in their regular clothes after coming from outside smoking. This place has improved over the last year. My issue has been the food quality but the last visit was really good. It's your typical chain restaurant type food selection. My boyfriend likes this spot which is why we keep going back. We have always experienced fast service and the servers have always been very nice. Visited this location for lunch with a $25 gift card I had received for my birthday. We ordered the queso blanco, bacon cheeseburger and chicken and shrimp dish with two drinks. Our total was $31. I don't think you can beat that for a sit down restaurant. Our food was good, and it came out fast. The managers and staff were very attentive of us and super friendly. They also have great drink specials, big screens for game watching , and free wifi. This location is also cleaner than any other Applebee's I have ever visited. If I had to choose any Applebee's to visit again, hands down it would be this one. read more

I rarely take the time to write reviews unless I was wowed or if I had the worst experience at a location. Unfortunately Applebee's wins for the worst experience at a restaurant. First off it is true that there is not a host/hostess greeting you when you walk in. Then when he finally approaches he is impatiently asking you how many with a reproachful stare and seats you at a table too small and. Pearly they have not cleaned yet. We move to the next table which is bigger but it is so filthy underneath that I almost walked out. We hold out because my son was really wanting Applebee's. Well we wait about 20 minutes and no server has come to take our drink orders. Another waitress comes by a little bit later saying your waiter Anthony will be right with you. He shows up about 5 minutes later and takes the drink orders and disappears. He comes back around to take my order after I asked another waitress where my waiter was. (Another 20 minutes later) We are watching the game waiting for our food. Our drinks have been empty for quite some time now but we are still being patient. So we finally see our food come out and it is the same waitress I've been flagging down bringing the food out. Well she is bringing my food out and someone runs into her and she drops one of our plates. So she apologizes but still now we have waited an hour and half for food and we all get to eat while my son waits for his food to be replaced. It takes another 15 minutes for his food but we have had enough. The waiter has not been by since our food order. I did go out to my car for something and saw him outside at someone's car. So that must have been where he kept disappearing to. Will never be coming back to this location. read more

We came in at about 8 pm and were seated right away :-) Our waitress brought us drinks and we ordered Sizzling Fajitas with their special sauce and added guacamole. Delicious! Great bartenders, nice staff no matter how busy they are they always maintain a good attitude and serve your drink as fast as they can. I will continue and always come to this location. It also has a great atmosphere later at night. I recommend this play to anyone that enjoys a laid back cool atmosphere. I have not had one problem at this location. We dine here at least once a week and have always had good service and nice people. I feel its a nice clean place to sit and enjoy some sports on the many wall and ceiling mounted TV's. We always get the chips and salsa, good value. I left my credit card once and called back 6 days later and they had it secured in the office. Awful, but the manager was so nice about it and understood us. My dad got a salad that came piled onto a tiny plate and he couldn't mix in the ranch without it falling on the table. He also got the 8 oz steak with fried egg. The steak was small and had a lot of gristle. It was supposed to come with stout gravy (brown gravy) and the server tried to tell my dad that the grease from the steak was the gravy. He ended up taking 20 minutes getting the gravy and my dad had finished by that time. I asked for a refill and had to ask another server for my water after 30 minutes. The coleslaw had about 2 scoops too many and was over flowing. The manager came by and took my dad's entire meal off the check. He was very professional and handled it well. read more

Quite possibly the worst location I have ever seen. The female bartender was yelling from expo to the bar and then again at the bar about what a b word whore she's always been and they, the customer, should just expect it. The male bartender couldn't get a shot right to save his life so several free shots were consumed as he attempted to make them over and over. Neither bar tender rang a single drink in the entire time I was there. My food was sitting on the expo shelf ready and despite my asking for it and the manager on duty playing on his phone at the end of the bar they told me I had to wait until they figured out what shots and drinks a bigger party needed to be charged for and what needed to be made before I could get my food. I can say TABC or the police would have a field day here with the over serving and complete disregard to the law. I went to this Applebees on 5/10/17 and I order two of the 1/2 Rack Ribs & 4 oz. Sirloin* when I got my food the meat was tough and the greenbeans where so cold that the season on the top was just stuck on the food... the steak was not a 4 oz steak. when I asked for the manager he gave the number to the district manager and he just held the phone while I explained what had happened.... so this Appleebees is trash.... they didnt take anything off of the bill or offer to remake the food. I trying to make a complaint with the BBB but they are not registered with them... smh read more

We've come about 4 to 6 times a month to eat until today. A very rude manager asked us for our drinks and we ordered them. He brought my wife's orange juice with ice. She said the she does not drink it with ice his response was " I can bring a cup and if you want you can pour your doing in there and leave the ice out. Then he said I will change it but I will charge you double. We reminded that we wanted a lime on the side for my mother in law water and he got mad too. This is the worst applebees my husband and I have ever been to. Unless you sit on the barback, expect awful service. We have gone in with our 2 year old a couple of times until we decided not to return. We asked for a high chair and was brought one that was 1) extremly dirty and 2) the strap was broken. So we asked for another, and another, and another. All the high chairs had either no straps or broken straps. Then we asked for a booster seat and the same thing. I talked to the manager and he had absolutely no solution other than to walk away. I hope they have fixed this issue. We only ordered food for our daughter at that point since there was no way we could all eat and have her sit still. Her quesadilla and fries were loaded with salt. More than any adult would ever want even. If you really want Applebees, drive the extra 5-10 minutes to the one in Rockwall. We havent been in to this one in a few months, so I hope they have cleaned (litterally) up their act! read more

This place is not customer friendly! Do not eat here! I've come to the Rowlett Applebee's several times over the summer. I teach classes at night and like to go there afterwards, sit at the bar, and have a steak and cold Shiner. Tonight, there was a bartender, Esther, I hadn't met. She was friendly and I ordered my dinner but I noticed she didn't place the order. A few minutes later, she asked for my credit card. I told her I don't use credit cards and will pay cash. She then asked for my drivers' license. She explained to me that people have been eating and walking out without paying and so the policy is they have to hold a credit card. This upset me but I knew it wasn't her fault; she was just doing what she was told. I refused to give her my license and told her I would pay for my dinner now instead of later. She said I couldn't. I asked to talk to a manager. Alicia introduced herself as the manager and I told her I had a problem with the policy of taking my license. She replied, "I didn't touch your license". It took a few minutes to explain to her the situation and she said I had to leave a credit card. This insulted me. She walked me out to the vestibule because (this is what she said) she didn't want a scene made in front of the other customers. I told her I didn't care if everyone heard. I asked for the name of the General manager and Alicia stated she is the GM, so I asked for the name and phone number of the District Manager. She gave me his name but refused to give me his phone number. She said I'd have to give her my number and she'd have him call me because it's his cell phone; I explained to the evidently unintelligent GM that I was asking for his business number, not his personal number, and she didn't give that to me, either. She was no help at all. In fact, she was very good at escalating the situation by not addressing my complaints. I called her a Bitch; I know I shouldn't have, but she was extremely frustrating and unhelpful. I will never go back to this Applebee's again. She obviously does not care about customer service at all. I'm not giving up. I will make phone calls tomorrow and try to find a number that I can reach the District Manager. read more
