We went into this lunch wanting that delicious looking OMCheese burger. Lots of runny cheese with the burger on the middle. What we got was a burger cut on half sitting in burnt cheese on the bottom of the pan. To add insult to injury, the fries we barely warm and tough. The waitress did get us fresh fries, but by then we were almost done with this burger. Hopefully, I can attach a picture as this looks nothing like the advertisement!

I sat at the bar as there was a 45 minute wait for a table although an entire section was empty. When I asked why, I was told there were not enough servers to cover that section. People at the bar were loud and drank a lot. Made my meal less than pleasing. Food was ok. I ordered a shrimp salad although it was not on the menu but I saw it on their website. The bar server said she could make one up for me. It tasted fine. Too much for me so I was unable to finish it. Bar server was helpful even with the drinkers shouting at her.

An empty restaurant and the wait is 20-25 minutes because they aren't properly staffed. It's wild. 4 servers are huddled over by the kiosk avoiding customers. The management really should be replaced. The lack of professionalism also is glaring.

Very lazy service and cooking. I'll never visit that Applebees again. This is why I don't like places like Chili's,TGI FRIDAYS etc

Good pasta and salads. I really enjoy the food and the friendly staff is. Even though it is a bar it is very family oriented.

The lack of staff during what could have been a rush hour prevented us from enjoying our meal. We ordered an appetizer that took 25 minutes.

However, I decided to go with an appetizer I've never tried, the Bang Bang Shrimp, which was dynamite! You get four very large, crispy shrimp in a sweet-and-spicy sauce, though I didn't find it spicy, if that's a concern for some. The sauce was very tasty; the shrimp had great flavor, were plump and tender, and they were indeed crispy. This went very well with the arugula under the shrimp. I'd order this again in a second. I then had two tacos à la carte: Baja Fish beer-battered cod and Carnitas. Both were very large and excellent. The pork on the Carnitas was indeed crispy as it should be, and the cod was perfectly fried and delicious. My wife had the Asian Tuna Noodle Crunch Bowl: seared tuna, lo mein noodles. The dressing was superb; the Tuna was perfectly seared raw, and all the items that came with the salad (mango, red cabbage, daikon radish sprouts, kale crunch, edamame, cilantro, peanuts, toasted sesame) made for a lovely and delicious meal. Our server, Tony, did a fantastic job of keeping us all happy. My only 'complaint' was that Boxcar doesn't serve their amazing Brussels sprouts, or at least not all the time. Not on the menu. I told Tony and the manager how much I love them and was told it may come back as a special from time to time. Man, the Boxcar Brussels sprouts are amazing! Boxcar has very, very good food, and I would usually avoid what appears to be a 'sports bar,' but James Beard Foundation-recognized Chef Eric Stumpf will please the foodies every time. What is nice is that Boxcar has several seating areas, so if you're into food and not the 'bar scene,' they can seat you in an area that is quiet.

We were warmly greeted and we're happy. It was on the quiet side since they weren't busy yet. By the time we left, it was busy! We really enjoyed our server, Paris. He was warm and seemed to take a general interest in us. I shared my concerns with him that my pallet doesn't tolerate much spicy. He at all. He assured me there would be no problem in accommodating that. He started us off with a complementary prickly pear & lemonade drink which we loved! He also provided a complementary appetizer which was very unique and made out of avocado and mascarpone and some other items I don't remember. Why I didn't love it, I did enjoy hasting something so unique and different. We started with the best cornbread I've ever had that shaped like a cob of corn with three different kinds of butters. The cornbread is $12 and worth it! Next came the Caesar salad wrapped in some kind of egg roll wrapper and topped with an anchovy mixture. We split it so we each got two rolls which was plenty. We very much enjoyed the flavors in the salad. Don ordered the Wagyu short rib with polenta. While we don't love polenta, this was tasty and complemented the beef nicely. Don said this was the best short rib he ever had. I wish I had a picture of how they presented it. When they took the lid off, there was a lovely steam cloud and it smelled wonderful. I had scallops with each one placed beautifully on top of of really interesting wild rice and finished with toasted coconut. The pineapple salsa and the Hoja Santa Fe Oil were placed in small rounds in the middle of the dish because they had some kick to them. What was especially impressive, is the gentleman who brought out my meal leaned over and said that the Chef wanted to let me know that the two items in the small dishes had heat to them, but I was encouraged to give them a try for the full flavor. Impressive! I was able to enjoy the pineapple salsa, but the oil was a little too spicy for me, but I'm glad I tried it. We would've loved to try dessert, but we were fully satiated by our delicious meal. It was quite an experience and we look forward to returning.

I asked for the burger to be cooked medium, and it was more like medium well or more done. The bun was a disaster, falling apart and sliding all over the place. One of the onions on it was inedible. The green chili suffered from a typical New Mexico problem (either hot with no flavor or flavor with no heat); this one was quite hot with no flavor. I don't know why, but my expectations were pretty high, but this burger was pretty bad. Oh yes, another point on the positive side, I got a house salad instead of french fries, and the salad was fantastic. Had some sesame seeds and cranberries in it that made it really delicious. I won't be back though. They simply must do better.

The restaurant was dimly lit, with large whiskey barrels tastefully scattered throughout the space. The ambiance felt dressy casual with a touch of farmhouse charm, complemented by a curated country music playlist serenading us throughout the evening. Since we had mentioned when making our reservation that we were celebrating our anniversary, both the hostess and our waiter greeted us with a warm "Happy Anniversary" and surprised us with two complimentary glasses of champagne. It was a very thoughtful touch and set the evening off to a great start. For drinks, I ordered the Buffalo Trace whiskey flight, while my wife chose a shrub, which is a sweet fruity cocktail with a hint of vinegar (like apple cider vinegar or kombucha). We both thoroughly enjoyed our drinks. To start, we ordered the corn chowder with bone marrow, which was such a unique and incredibly delicious experience for both of us. You scrape the bone marrow directly into the soup, adding richness to both the flavor and texture, which were already excellent. For our entree, we shared the ribeye steak with duck fat fingerling potatoes, and it was more than enough food for the two of us. The steak was cooked to perfection and, surprisingly, had very little fat. The duck fat potatoes were soft, flavorful, and the perfect complement to the meal. For dessert, we ordered the Kentucky butter cake and...oh my...the salted bourbon caramel was absolutely amazing!
