Applebee's seems to scream chain - but unfortunately the food hasn't been perfected like it is a chain. I find the food very bland and uneventful. It also seems loud - fine for a bar - but the restaurant / bar makes it a bit more difficult to do either well. The service has always been prompt and courteous - you'll only find me there when a visiting family member insists on it though. read more

We have eaten here twice. Both times it was the same. The employees are pleasant and congenial, however the food is so bland that it has no taste whatsoever. It is as if they have some sort of a "Taste Extractor" in the kitchen whereby they remove all vestige of taste from the food and then sell it to some other restaurant to put into their dishes. Went went last night for our "final chance" for this place. The last couple of times, it was not good so this was the decision visit. We order the riblet platter and a chicken wrap. Two vodka and seven's. First off, the drinks were ordered before the end of "happy hour". We didn't get the happy hour price for them, and they were "weak" to say the least. Riblets were OK and plentiful and there ends the good news. The chicken wrap had so little chicken in it, I could barely FIND it. And it was wrapped so poorly, it had to be eaten with knife and fork. Could NOT pick it up. Fries were not terribly plentiful and so over seasoned, they were hardly edible (oh, and cold). All in all, the "last chance visit" was a fail. It's Applebee's. need I say more? Obviously you're better off cooking at home, but if you want to catch up with old friends or just socialize and get out of the house, this is a good place after 9pm for happy hour. Food is frozen not fresh and most likely microwaved.. No surprises here. But once you've had a few cocktails or beers you don't really worry about that kind of stuff. So one star because the service was good. Unfortunately, it is WAY overshadowed by the severe lack of quality in the food. Ordered a steak rare. It was not rare. Great experience at Applebee's tonight. Food was terrific. Had the chicken wonton tacos (crispy and awesome), boneless hot wings (moist and not at all nugget-like), steak quesadilla (cheesy and great). My wife had the tortilla soup which also got 2 thumbs up. Service was nearly perfect (empty plates could have been cleared earlier). Dale was friendly and attentive. Interior was clean and had a good vibe. Was about 75% full (arrived around 5:30). Almost didn't come because of the bad reviews. Very glad we did! read more

We ordered off the "2 for $20" menu (2 entrees and a shared appetizer) which ended up costing over $70 by the time the evening was done. Up charges, talking us into making a donation for a gift basket for charity that was in the lobby , etc. Sure we agreed to these but the up selling was borderline pushy and made for an uncomfortable experience. Being residents of Sequim and frequent diners at the Applebee's here, we left today not sure about returning after our experience with a skimpy lunch and an over eager to prove himself new manager..... My husband ordered soup and oriental salad on the combo menu, which he has done on numerous occasions. When the service came, there seriously was hardly any green salad under a few pieces of chicken. I jokingly asked the server if the kitchen was rationing lettuce..she assured me she would get some more...I then a few minutes later noticed a new young manager circling past us, he passed us twice more before screwing up enough courage to confront us and demand to know why we were unhappy with the meal, and then informed us that all food is measured for correct portion.......I doubt I will return...and will be sure to share our experience with others about the new management proudly showing corporate how well he is cutting down food costs..... read more

WHAT AWESOME STAFF! #2 in our continuing series. It is an Applebee's, I don't travel the land much but I am relatively sure its décor, menu, and procedures are pretty much the same as another in the chain. What stands out here is the staff. They get full 5 stars! It was a fairly busy Saturday evening and this has not been our first trip to this local Applebee's. The restaurant was clean, friendly and notably out of paper towels in the restroom. We sit to dine at the bar and our bartender has taken the time to remember from past visits our cocktail order. She pre-predicts our food orders and quickly gets them on the way. That to us is truly special! The rest of the staff continues to take very good care of us the entire meal. Cocktails were good and reasonably priced. Joey orders the Crosscut Ribs and a paid separate salad (he says the coleslaw that comes with the meal here is just not fit for human consumption.) He slowly enjoys and with a fair amount of mess devours the ribs like a group of Dermestid Beetles, clean to the bone. (The lesser intelligentsia may need to Google the beetles.) He gives both the ribs and salad a solid 5! I order the Triple Bacon burger with fries which is very good but certainly not standout. We want to rate the overall experience as average with 3 stars but with the great effort by the staff it's a 4. Got to save the 5 for hopefully what will be the utopia dine out if we ever find it. P.S. It was really nice of Joey to buy this meal for me..... paying for MY meal with MY gift card.... after his big casino win..... you cheap fart (and fart is not the word I wanted to use.) read more

We have recently moved to Sequim, Washington from Idaho, One of favorites was always Applebee's BUT we have tried the Sequim location twice. Both times it was not good and you wouldn't even recognize it as the same awesome food we got in Nampa, Idaho. On our last visit the food looked like it was just dumped on the plate. The servings were very small and didn't taste anything like the Applebee's we knew. Part of the chips were stale and our artichoke dip was over cooked. My cedar grilled lemon chicken was terrible and the riblets not much better. There is so much good local food in this area we will not be returning to Applebee's in Sequim Washington anymore. read more

I am not a crazy fan of Applebees. The food is okay and the service is never great. I always see the staff talking and messing around and it feels like they do not care to be working. Just there for a check. Only ate here if the majority of family and friends wanted to eat here. The Green Bean Crispers and the Queso Blanco is the only thing I like. read more

Crappy service, waited 10 minutes to get menus and then sat for over 30 minutes waiting for food in a quiet restaurant. Everyone around us was complaining about the service, also. When the food came, my hubbys fries were cold and greasy, a burger with nothing on it. My salad was sitting in a pool of water. The plates came out 5 minutes apart, when we finally flagged down the waitress and asked for condiments for the burger and told her about the fries, she took 10 minutes to bring the mayo and fresh fries out. By that time the burger was cold. We were never checked on, never asked if we needed anything and sat with empty 'ice tea' glasses. The ice tea was so weak that it was really just water with a bit of color. We are done with Applebees!!! read more

Ordered well done hamburger, was med rare. First half didn't seem to bad, so I ate that. Second half when I looked at it was super pink. Tried to take a bite and instantly lost my appetite. Felt it was pointless at that point to say anything so we just left. I had already paid at the table. That night had a slight case of food poisoning. Will never eat there for dinner again. This Applebee's used to be decent. And the people who worked there used to be pleasant. Not anymore. I ordered a to go order, guy on the phone was an idiot, had to tell him the order three times. He told me to go to the carside to go door which I thought was odd since I told him I was walking over from the hotel but okay. I went there and nobody came out so I went in and the waitress yelled at me for sticking my head inside and asking if my order was ready. Had to ask for a manager to get my food and not deal with the waitress. Got my order, went back to my room and the ribs were dry and overcooked plus they had the wrong sauce, the green beans were like gray mush and the garlic mashed potatoes had lumps of uncooked potatoes. Never again. Total waste of money. Would give it a zero if I could. Sad to see Sequim turning into the type of place where this poor service and bad attitude is the norm. Generally a decent place with good food. Be sure to avoid waitress Jordan. She is overly gushy, pushy, and too attentive. Listening to her deliver the same gushy spiel to neighboring tables, I realize that's her schtick. But it's annoying. We have had excellent meals here in several ocassions. We adore servers Dayna and Hannah. But an overly attentive schmoozy server ruined our experience this evening. We will be more careful about where we get seated in the future. read more

I visited Sequim to attend a birthday celebration and afterwards went to this restaurant for burgers and beer with a friend of mine. We got there around 0:00, the place closes at 1:00am. The restaurant was empty and after a 10-min wait the bartender came by apologizing for the delay since he was talking to his manager on the back of the restaurant... He made sure to let us know how annoyed he was of taking our orders ("I don't know whose burger is this..."). Very unprofessional and rude. The food was below the Applebee's average quality. I wonder if the employees of this restaurant are comfortable dealing with a small town competition and think they can treat customers with this total disrespect. Anyhow, my friends that live in Sequim won't go there anymore and neither do I. read more

As far as Applebee's goes it's a good one. They service is good and the food is typical Applebee's. The only thing that kinda freaked me out was an older women came in with her friend and her DOG. They sat right next to us. Now I love dogs but in a restaurant while I'm eating. Kinda gross. We went out for dinner at Sequim's Applebee's. We both ordered 9 oz parma steak and shrimp with baked potato. It was one of the worst meals we have ever had. My steak was not cut properly, full of gristle and raw. Sent it back. The waiter took my plate and brought it back minus the steak. A few minutes later brought my steak back, this time it was over cooked. We were never were offered a refill on our lemonades. When we were done another waitress asked if she could take our plates. She showed us how to pay at t he table. We asked for a receipt. Our original waiter, Cody B brought us the receipt and said he had been busy helping the bartender stock the bar. We ordered food to go because it was in the same parking lot as our hotel. Right after ordering they called to tell us they were completely out off all pasta and would have to order something else. Then when my husband got there to pick it up, they apologized and didn't charge us for the kids meal. But didn't give us the kids drink. Have eaten at many Applebees and could count on a decent experience. Not so Sequim Applebees. Today from time I walked in door was not good. Hostess was very nice but had no idea what to do. One server was late and she had no idea where to seat me. Did get a coke but no water. At least 20 minutes before server came back to take my order. Only ordered nachos but after at least 20!to 30 minutes more I had to ask where my order was. Finally after another 10 mins or so nachos finally came and they were cold. No jalapeños so waited for them. Had to ask for drink refill and when I was almost finished got a glass of water. Most of the nachos looked like they had dumped a bag of crumbs on the plate. Gave Applebees a try last night. Been there before, its always hit or miss. Last night will my last though. I must say, two times before food wasn't good but at least service made up for it. But last night was a total failure on their end. We were sat, and my father watched the waitress visiting with her girlfriends one both down. Totally ignoring her new table. Then when she finally broke away, STILL did not approach us but went back to the kitchen for a tad. She finally came up to our table, we gave her our drink order, hot water for myself, beer on tap for my dad. Took awhile to get the water, and possibly 15 minutes for the beer. My dad could see the bar which was not busy at all, but the bartender was too busy chatting at the bar with someone to notice an order had been placed! When my dad questioned the server her comment back was, "I know, I will give her the stink eye". Five minutes later he had his beer. Now for the dinner, I had a salad which was okay, dad had a 6oz steak which was cooked correctly at medium BUT, it was incredibly tough! Dad took his first bite, and chewed, chewed and could not even get through it. (And he has great teeth by the way). He had to remove it from his mouth and place it on the plate. Next cut and bite, same thing! I told my dad his 6oz steak will be a 4oz at looks like. Our waitress finally comes up to see how things are. I'm half done with my salad. Dad told her the problem and she left quickly to get her manager. Over 10 minutes later, I had to get up and find the waitress to ask where the manager was?! She states, "oh, I told her, I will tell her again". The manager came to our table and noticed what my dad had not been even able to chew through. 90% of the steak was tougher than leather. Of course she apologized, asked if they could fire another or offer something different, but we were done. Dad couldn't eat it. She offered a free dessert. That's when I had to ask the manager myself, "you are going to comp this right?" Oh certainly she stated. Although I feel if we had taken a free dessert she would of been happier. And so, as we walked out the door, I looked over my shoulder at my dad, and his words were, "goodbye Applebees, never again". And those were EXACTLY my thoughts too. read more

I had been on the road for over 3 hours and had been gone for a week, I just wanted to get dinner and go home. I first parked at the Curbside and waited over 10 minutes and got no services. In the meantime a staff member visited the car next to me twice, so someone knew I was there. So I decided to pull around and order at the front desk. I gave my order and then sat down and was told it would take about 20 minutes. The hostess would tell me that it should be ready in a few minutes. After over 30 minutes, I asked when my order would be ready. She disappeared and I waited again. She finally came back and said a manager would be with me shortly. I wondered why a manager had to tell me when my order would be ready. The manager finally came and said my order had been "out in" 12 minutes ago and would be ready an a few minutes. I said I had been waiting longer then that and it had only been put in 12 minutes ago. She said the "curb" girl had to put it in and it had been 12 minutes ago. I again said I don't understand why it was put in only 12 minutes ago when I had placed it longer than that.. She said that this is not fast food and it takes 15 minutes to cook it. Well, duh. I repeated myself and she said look around, we are very busy. I asked to be compensated for my long wait. Again she said it had been placed 12 minutes ago. I had had it and said I was done and I was leaving. She asked, "You don't want your order? It will be ready in a few minutes." i was so mad, that I said no, I don't have the time and left. On the way home I realized that several patrons who came in after me and were seated got their food. In fact two ladies who I know came in 10 minutes after me, went into the bar and got their food. It will be a very long time, if ever, before I go there again. read more

Horrible service on a to-go order tonight. Tried to order on-line, got all the way through and the system told me I had to call. I called and placed the order. When I got there, I waited over a half-hour for my food (it seems they forgot about me waiting.) When it finally came, the order charged me $6.59 for a caesar salad that had shown as $4 on-line. After several back and forths where the server went back to talk to the manager, they said I had gotten a large which was $6.59 (I had not been asked what size I wanted) but they'd only charge me for a small ($5.50.) The manager apparently would not budge over $1.50. I paid it, but will likely be avoiding this place with the group I'm with this weekend. I certainly will not trust them. read more

After a day of hiking, my hubby and I stopped in Applebee's Sequim for a drink and whatever else we decided to eat/drink. We were seated in the bar at one of those tall tables with stools. We sat there for about 15 minutes before a waitress came to take our order. We ordered a couple of beers. Mind you, aside from the bartenders 3 buddies at the bar, we were the only customers in the bar, and the restaurant wasn't busy either. I know the people seated at the bar were the bartenders buddies because he was engrossed in deep conversation with them, and referred to them multiple times as "Bro". After the waitress took our order we waited about another 15 minutes and nada, nothing, zip....crickets. My husband caught the eye of the bartender a couple times but he was too busy with his "Bros".
