My wife and I, along with another couple, celebrated New Year's Eve at Anna's Table this year. The…read morerestaurant had been on my list for quite some time, as I had heard consistently positive things, and the reviews seemed to support that reputation. In the grand scheme of things, a disappointing restaurant experience isn't the end of the world. That said, as a consumer, I do expect the quality of both food and service to be commensurate with the prices charged. I also understand that restaurants can be overwhelmed on holidays--but I firmly believe that management has a responsibility to accept only as many reservations as the staff and kitchen can reasonably handle. Upon arrival, the location felt a bit unusual, as the restaurant sits on the first floor of what appears to be a senior condo building. Not a negative, just an observation. Parking was easy, and once inside, I genuinely liked the vibe. The space is upscale, well-designed, cozy, and comfortable. It's a large restaurant broken into several rooms, each with half-round booths and its own bar with plenty of seating. Atmospherically, Anna's Table does a lot right. Our reservation was for 6:30 p.m., but we weren't seated until around 7:15. Given that it was New Year's Eve, this wasn't a deal breaker. It then took some time for our server to arrive. When she did, she brought bottles of still and sparkling water that had been filtered and bottled in-house. The water was excellent and a very nice touch. The restaurant was offering a special holiday menu with a good range of options--meat, fish, and vegetarian dishes--with most entrées priced around $30. We ordered cocktails, which took quite a while to arrive. The server mentioned that the bar was extremely backed up. Unfortunately, when my drink did arrive, it was incorrect. The server apologized and took it back, but instead of waiting at the bar to have it remade and promptly delivered, I waited an additional 20 minutes for the correct drink. (All I wanted was a Tioto's vodka martini with no vermouth, which was clearly communicated and confirmed with the server when I ordered it. It arrived dirty with vermouth....) We placed our appetizer and entrée orders. One appetizer was a cup of chowder. After roughly 40 minutes, the appetizers arrived--except the chowder. We were informed that they had run out. While it seemed odd to run out so early in the evening, the bigger issue was that we were not informed ahead of time or offered a substitute before the other appetizers were delivered. That should have been handled proactively. The appetizers themselves were good overall--salads, tuna sashimi, etc.--though the tuna should have been served chilled rather than warm. For entrées, we ordered chicken parm, steak tips, and a pork chop. They arrived about an hour after we finished our appetizers, which felt excessive. Once again, we were told the kitchen was backed up. The chicken parm was disappointing: the chicken was chewy, and the pasta was dry, as if it had been plated and left under a heat lamp too long. The steak tips were acceptable, and my pork chop was fine in flavor, but it arrived about ten minutes after the rest of the table had been served. The explanation was that the chef was waiting for the chop to come to temperature. Unfortunately, this resulted in an awkward dining experience for our group--and the chop itself ended up overcooked and tough. In the end, our experience was poor at best. While Anna's Table certainly looks like a place well-suited for a special occasion, we all left disappointed after spending roughly $200 per couple and more than three hours at the restaurant. I did share my concerns with a (suited) gentleman who appeared to be the manager, as he was greeting tables later in the evening while we were walking out. It would have been far more reassuring to see management actively present earlier--monitoring service flow, kitchen timing, and guest satisfaction--rather than only as the night was winding down. Ultimately, restaurant leadership failed in managing capacity. It was evident not only from our experience but also from conversations around us. One nearby couple joked that they were wondering if they should ask for a breakfast menu given the wait times. While Anna's Table is aesthetically appealing, there is significant work to be done to deliver an experience that justifies its pricing.

From the moment you walk in, everyone is genuinely nice, welcoming, and friendly, which makes the whole experience even better. The food is consistently excellent, but my all-time favorite will forever be the goat cheese grilled cheese with tomato soup. It's pure comfort food perfection and honestly something I crave. Great atmosphere, great service, and food that never disappoints. Worth every visit- and every reservation you have to plan ahead for.

We went for a family lunch and were met with kind service and deliciously fresh options. The cornbread with maple butter was a great starter alongside the Crab Dip that was loaded with fresh cheese and crab meat. Our steaks were all cooked well and definitely priced very fairly for a farm-to-table type of restaurant... we've paid a lot more for a lot worse! The flavors were all pretty hit or miss with the bone marrow butter packing a flavorful punch on our filets but the chicken pot pie missing a little more savoriness that were no stranger in the crab dip and butters. The steak and sunnies was a fun breakfast take on steak, eggs, and potatoes. The seasoning on the eggs and crunch on the potatoes left the best impression. And for dessert, our kid's chocolate chip cookie was a little hard, almost refrigerated? Had it tasted and felt a little fresher, we might've followed up with some milk and cookies for the rest of us. Overall the ambience and service made the experience meet exactly what we were looking for when making a reservation here for our family lunch. There were definitely some opportunities to really take it to the next level, but overall, we were very satisfied with our lunch and would definitely recommend for a nice countryside atmosphere to celebrate at.

Five stars for ambiance, two for food…read more The restaurant itself is lovely. It feels like you're in an old home. Lots of rustic touches and decorations that give character. Service was attentive and friendly. Unfortunately the food was just not that great. I ordered the 1/2 soup, 1/2 sandwich with the butternut squash bisque and the butternut squash sandwich. The squash was good but it had a thick layer of oil on top that wouldn't mix in, so sometimes you would just get a mouthful of oil. The sandwich was very bland. It was the vegan option with butternut squash, portobello mushrooms, lettuce, and some kind of bean spread. The spread had a nice hint of sweetness but overall the sandwich was quite flavorless. Even if they had roasted the squash and let it caramelize a little that would have gone a long way. I know vegan food is not always a restaurant's forte but at this point that's no excuse. The wine we chose, the estate vignoles, was very unique, with a dry, apple-like flavor. I really enjoyed it. Overall, I would come back for a wine tasting but not for a meal.

Our scallop risotto and hangar steak were both perfect. The proteins were perfectly cooked, but the vegetables on the side for the steak were also delicious, including the pickled onions, and the risotto was probably my favorite I've ever had (admittedly I'm a normy and I think this risotto not being al dente made it better for me). We couldn't help but order two desserts, and while both were delicious I preferred the chocolate mousse over the tiramisu. It had a little crunchy layer to it. I still haven't tried brunch here but am planning on it eventually.
