Loved this place, was recommended it by a Lubbock local and it didn't disappoint. We arrived around 10:30am on a Thursday and it was perfect timing as they filled up by the time we left. They have a few tables inside and outside, we sat inside. There was one individual working for orders and they were a delight. Very friendly and patient as we weren't sure what to get. Coffee was tasty, and we went with the southwestern omelet, French toast, 1 blueberry pancake and breakfast plate with ham. Highly recommended to order the hash browns well done (1 plate and 1 did not) and wished I had done the well done ones. Next time. The food was great and everything came out hot. As they are a make to order kitchen, patience is key for greatness. We also ordered a few of the fried pies to go....so the verdict is still out on those. I've seen this restaurant nestled behind Breakfast House and wondered about it for years. It was a friendly place with decent good, but it won't be a place I'll be going to regularly. For anyone wondering what I was wondering: - you do not order at the counter and then sit down. You choose a table and have a waitress. Ours was attentive and friendly. - don't go here if you just want something light. Most items are heavy. There is a fruit parfait option, but it was 12 dollars. - if you're debating getting the biscuits or the blueberry pancake, absolutely get the pancake. It was HUGE and delicious. - Don't bother paying extra and getting meat. Neither the ham nor bacon were very good. - sit inside if you can. The front patio is okay, but is surrounded by the pothole filled parking lot, backs of buildings, and an employment service business. - I was hoping to grab a slice of apple bread or an apple item, but the bakery cabinet was extremely limited and needed to be restocked. read more

We loved the ambiance, which was outside seating. The inside is a little crowded and busy. It was a pleasant day with a nice cool breeze and a pleasant view of the other shops on the strip. Visiting the rest room was an interesting experience. You have to go behind the counter and into the kitchen where the food is being prepared. I didn't mind because that's what everyone else was doing. I liked walking past the tables and seeing all the dishes other people got. The food looked really good, especially the blueberry pancakes. My granddaughter got French toast, one egg and sausage. The rest of us got breakfast burritos. I got a side of ham for my dog, Baxter. Our burritos were delicious and huge. Baxter liked his large serving of ham and was disappointed when he finished. I had a bite of ham and I can affirm it was delicious. My only complaint about the menu is that they don't offer a choice of bread with the breakfasts. The traditional egg and meat and omelette breakfasts all come with toast. You can get pancakes or biscuits but that's in a different section. You can always order something from the biscuit or pancake section and add a side of eggs and or meat. Had brunch with spouse, daughter and granddaughter after granddaughter competed in the regional high school cross country meet. Accompanied by our dog and it being a lovely day, we sat outdoors. Grownups all had the breakfast burrito with eggs, sausage, cheese, hash browns, tomatoes, and peppers. Granddaughter had French toast with an egg and sausage. It was all quite good. This small diner is one of our favorite places for brunch or lunch. The spinach Florentine omelette is my favorite. I usually request a side of tomato instead of hashbrowns. They butter and grill the side biscuit and it is so good with the crispy edge. Their homemade salsa is also good. I have not tried their pancakes, but I have seen others order it and they are huge (bigger than a large plate)! The baked items in the display case are also excellent and I think they take holiday orders as well. Quite possibly the best breakfast available in Lubbock. Restaurant had good portion sizes with good prices. The standout dishes included the biscuits and gravy, and the French toast. Staff was very warm and inviting, we got to talk with the owner and tell her first hand how good the food was. Restaurant was very clean and comfortable. The only possible down side is a slightly longer than average wait time, but even then it was worth it! We will be sure to come back again. read more

The only thing good about this place is the service. We came here because of the 4.5 rating but sadly that was a mistake. We were very hopeful but first off the food prices were insane for what was given. Breakfast for 2 people should be no more than 20-25$, I spent 40$. Now if the portion size justified the price then fine but it did not. I will say if you like flavored food, this is NOT your place. I couldn't give you any stars because I couldn't find you. I'm so disappointed. We're traveling and saw your reviews on yelp and wanted to eat there. Google maps took us to a strip mall and said we had arrived. The café where Google stopped us was at the front of the parking lot so we just went in. Thought maybe you changed your name. The food was not great and it was all cold. I imagine yours is better and we were both disappointed. I think you might benefit from having a sign on the street that points to your actual location. As I was passing through Lubbock around breakfast time a month back, Yelp recommended Apple Tree breakfast tacos, so I called in an order for super easy pick-up through their drive-through window. Nice, in our Covid-19 restricted times. I ordered breakfast tacos and had to get some fried pies for afternoon snack on my long drive. After all, there were plenty of pie mentions in the Yelp reviews. Breakfast tacos were large and good. Could have used more seasoning, so next time I'll ask for salt/pepper and extra salsa. But really, they were quite good! I would definitely get these again. The fried pies: oh, yum! The MOST flaky pastry crust I have ever dreamed about. These were OUTSTANDING! I should be in Lubbock in about an hour, and while this time it be lunch hours, I'll be stopping by for more pies. I was visiting Lubbock from Austin and we got breakfast at Apple Tree. In this covid era, we appreciated that they had a drive through! Our meals were made pretty quickly, we waited a little under 10 minutes to get our food after ordering. My breakfast meal was supposed to come with a biscuit, but when we got home we realized the biscuit wasn't there. I was excited about the peach fried pie, but the sugar glaze on the outside was thick and too sweet for me!
