Once again I gave a call to Tony, this time as our 17 year old washing machine was trying to give up the ghost. On short notice he was here and put in the fix. Others say that it was old and buy a new one. This is our third time using Tony's services, and we're pleased as usual. I like to fix things myself if I can, but I was at a dead-end with our washer which wouldn't spin. Tony came out the very next day and diagnosed the problem, suggesting which part I could try to replace next, cautioning me that there was a good chance it wouldn't work and in that case I should think about buying a new washer rather than hiring him again because he didn't think it was worth it. I appreciated his honesty. But it turns out that the replacement part *did* fix the problem, so I'm extra happy. BTW, before calling Tony, ChatGPT told me to replace one part, and a different appliance tech told me to replace another, and I did replace both of those, but neither fixed the problem. Tony was prompt and polite when I called about a leak under the chiller tray in my refrigerator. Unfortunately 2 weeks later the leak was still occuring. He came back and worked on it again. Total cost for the two visits was $250. Leak is still occuring. Refrigerator started making a noise this week so I removed the back panel. He had said he had cleaned the coils and tubes, but one tube was disconnected and the coils were clogged - like they hadn't been cleaned in the life of the refrigerator. Got out fast. Used him before. Delivered the news I needed a new washer not what I wanted to hear but he was quick!

Our dishwasher clasp wouldn't close properly so we contacted Tony. He informed us it would be $80 service charge which would be applied to any repair cost. Using a screw driver he was able to get the clasp to re-set. This took less than 10 minutes but while he was here he took a 15 minute incoming call while his mask kept slipping off his nose. This was awkward and unsafe during COVID as my family was having dinner nearby! While on the phone he told the caller his service charge was $95 so not sure how price is determined (perhaps by location?). When he finally wrapped up the call he told us the total was $120 instead of the $80 he quoted us. When questioned, he told us any other repair person would have charged us to replace the entire bracket and we would not have known any better. He ultimately agreed the $80 was what he quoted but not before trying to say it's $120 if there's any repair. Not a nice experience! read more

Our old, but trusty Kenmore dryer began making a concerning squealing noise a couple of days ago, making us think it was about to give up the ghost. Did a Yelp query on Sunday, got an email response shortly asking me to call him for additional information. I decided to wait till Monday. Called him Monday morning, he was available that day. Came by in the afternoon, diagnosed the problem (frayed belt) in about 5 minutes after opening it up. Had a spare belt in his truck. Total job done in about 30 minutes. Called Tony based on yelp reviews when our microwave went out. He told us it would be $125 just to come look at it, but that would count towards the total. We figured fine, there's a minimum of $125 but that's in the ballpark of what we'd expect to pay for this anyway. After he came he told us it'd be $500. When we pointed out the entire thing cost $300 and that we could find the part he said would be $200+ for just over $100 with a quick google search he got super defensive and just wanted to make sure we paid his $125 for coming by ASAP. Seems like his move is to charge a high upfront amount then give you a crazy high quote so that you just give in so as no to loose your $125 deposit. I'd definitely avoid working with him. Pricing seems based on what he feels like he can get out of you and not value. read more

After fixing part of the problem, he returned without charging an additional service call and found the other part of the problem and then bought the faulty part and brought it over and put it in place. He is honest and upfront about the difficulty we might be facing repairing the water and ice dispenser, especially given that there were varying symptoms and a diagnostic code that appeared and then disappeared.
