After finding a washing machine, the employee told us he would hold the machine for us for two hours. We left to eat lunch. When we came back to purchase and load the machine in our van, the manager was in the process of selling the machine to a different customer. It was the only machine of that type. He knew the employee told us he was holding it for us and decided to sell it to the other customer anyway. He told me they do not do holds, and the employee made a mistake. The right thing would have been to hold the machine for the two hours and correct the employee in private. If told we needed to fully pay or put down a deposit earlier, we could have done so. His only attempt to rectify the situation was to "allow" us to buy something else in the store, come back in a few weeks when they get more stock, or go to their competitor. Really poor management.

He ordered the replacement part and came back out a couple days after the part was delivered. He installed the part within a couple hours, probably closer to an hour. The cost for labor was very reasonable, and then the cost of the part completed the total amount billed. With this fix, the fridge/freezer should last another five years. I started to worry I needed to buy a new one when I couldn't find the replacement part online. I'm glad J & J was able to get the part and fix in a reasonable amount of time and at a reasonable price.

Also, the oven I wanted was out-of-stock with Whirlpool and nobody had any idea of when one could expect delivery. If the measurements all worked out, I agreed to pay half upfront to get it ordered. Their associate showed up for the pre-measure on a Friday afternoon and after running some compilations, said he would have to get back with us that following Monday. We said that would be fine. That was the last I heard from anybody at Ferguson--neither from that guy or from the salesperson who originally emailed me a formal quote. Not even a courteous follow-up on the project. That's been over a week ago. I guess they don't need our business--I was wanting to buy local--but their customer service is terrible. I'm done with them and since I never heard back from them, went to NFM, spoke with the most knowledgeable salesman, found the perfect oven, and saved probably @ $800 in total. Delivery is already scheduled. The ratings on Yelp for this business were somewhat to be desired but I thought I'd give them the benefit of doubt. We started at this store in the plumbing section and what a treat it was. We were greeted by Tom, a vet, and the most helpful person I have EVER encountered at Home Depot ANYWHERE. He guided my daughter and I through everything we needed and even got us all the parts. We were able to repair two drain pipes (we found another cracked pipe after we started) and had the best bonding time ever. What an accomplished feeling, all thanks to Tom.
