Zero stars, absolute crooks! This business was sent to our home in Palm Springs throughFirst American Home Warranty to fix our icemaker. That was nearly five months ago. They billed the insurance for the part, never installed it (!!!) and our icemaker was never fixed and they closed the case with the home warranty. Took our $190 Service call fee, and the money for the part from the warranty company and never did the work! The tech came to our house, acted super cocky and arrogant like it was our fault that the icemaker wasn't working and treated us like we were idiots. (We had literally just purchased the home and had no idea why it wasn't working.) When he pulled the ice maker out, he scratched the limestone floor noticeably, and then said that we "should have had cardboard underneath it". We never even complained about this. We were super patient while he spoke condescendingly and irritatingly with us and when he left, my husband and I just looked at each other, shocked. Weeks and weeks passed then we were told that it was the warranty's fault that they were dragging their feet about getting the right compressor part and then he came back out and said it wasn't the right part. At that point, I told him to please ask the warranty to just replace it with a cheap icemaker because he kept telling us how expensive the icemaker was that had been installed. I said I don't want a fancy expensive icemaker please just ask them to replace it with a simple one so we can get on with things. Then on June 24 I got a message that the case had been closed on the First American Home Warranty side! I called Appliance Repair Experts to have some sort of follow through and to ask why the case was closed when nothing was resolved and I have not received an answer. Spent an hour on the phone today with First American Home Warranty who then told me I would need to open a new case for another $190 if I want our icemaker to be serviced. We paid thousands of dollars for this warranty. What a croc on both sides! I will gladly take this post down if the tech comes out, acts a little more kindly and actually fixes the icemaker, but until then total crooks!!!! You can see that I typically only leave glowing reviews for people, I am not a vindictive or cranky person, but this was absolutely nuts. Oh! My husband just reminded me that we also paid an additional hundred dollars for him to look at our dishwasher and he told us to to put bacon grease in it to fix it!! Terrible company. I was assigned to this contractor by AHS about a month ago for simple oven door hinge replacements for an oven door that is covered under my warranty. The company sent a moron out to my home who wreaked of cigarette smoke and diagnosed that my door was broken. I could have diagnosed that. He was at my home for 5 minutes and left. I have tried to reach out to Appliance Repair Experts on 3 different occasions since the original diagnosis appointment. No one answers the Appliance Repair Expert business phone. The call goes directly to irritating music where I am on old for a hours without any one answering. The phone call annoyingly does not even have an option to leave a message. Because of their failure to communicate, I had to call back AHS and I have been on hold with them for an hour, without resolution. Appliance Repair Experts are an unreliable and unprofessional company. They have terrible customer service. It looks like a bunch of other people have apparently had a similar experience experience. Beware of this company. They were sent out by our home warranty company to assess our glass washer lid. It is a struggle to do laundry because the rubber seal around the glass lid has become loose. The technician if you can call them that told the insurance company that the lid is damaged because of excessive use of force! So we were denied by the insurance company to replace or fix the problem. There isn't a scratch on this washer and how to you use excessive force on a glass washer lid without breaking it or even leaving a scratch on it? We called this company after we found out from the insurance company about this so called excessive use of force and that their employe was completely incorrect. We were told that once the ticket was sent that's it we can't help you anymore. During my recent interaction with customer service, the representatives, Itzel and Jackie, were unprofessional and discourteous. There is clearly a lack of coordination and communication between their technicians and customer service reps. The representatives questioned me instead of providing assistance, provided inaccurate information, and ultimately ended the call abruptly, citing that the call was being recorded--as if that were intended to threaten or intimidate me. This morning, I first spoke with Itzel, and I explained to her that her technicians had requested a video of the issue I was having with my stove on my previous work order. My intention was to try to send them the requested video, because the old links that were sent do not work. Itzel stated that their company does not accept video submissions and instructed me to email the video instead and that she would send me an email (I have yet to receive any email or instructions from her.) She then advised me to contact my home warranty company for a recall. At no point in time did she mention that I was out of the 30-day window, which makes me question if she even reviewed my case. I then contacted my insurance company and explained these instructions, and they initiated a conference call with Itzel. At the start of the call, Itzel did not realize I was on the line, and she contradicted the information she had just given me. She made no mention of directing me to request a recall or of the email she had said she would send. I made it clear to both my insurance company and their repair company that I did not understand the recall process; I was simply trying to submit the video that their technicians requested. At some point, Jackie, the apparent manager, joined the call without introducing herself and questioned why I had not uploaded the videos their technicians requested within the 30-day window--even though the company had already stated they do not accept video submissions. If videos are not accepted, how can that be used as a basis to question me? Furthermore, if I was already outside the 30-day window, why would their representative instruct me to contact my insurance company and request a recall? Neither of her arguments had any validity. She proceeded to berate and question me, then finally stated her name and immediately hung up the phone. I was told my washing machine was a super easy fix... a month ago, then was told they couldn't find the part, on a whirpool washing machine purchased last year. They finally got the part after 3 weeks, scheduled a time with me the following week on Monday, and called me with 30 minutes left of the 4 hours window to say the repair person wouldn't be making it. They said they could fit me on Friday from 1-5pm, but after expressing frustration, they said they could squeeze me in from 1-5 on Wednesday instead. I called their customer service at 4:45 this afternoon to confirm they'd still be on their way, and the woman on the phone said they would. When I asked for a time frame, they said within the next hour (An hour after their window closed). I am continuing to wait, now at 7pm, 2 hours after the window I was given for the 2nd time, with no call or update from the repairman. Absolutely awful service. It must be nice to work with home warranty programs and deliver sub par service across the board. read more

If I could give them zero stars I would. I had the worst experience with them and will be sure to never do any business with them and make sure my home warranty never assigns them to my service request. I had an issue with my dryer and they were so incompetent. The first visit they diagnosed an issue with my motor and blower. The dryer sparked when plugged in and popped the breaker every time. They order the parts and when they returned to install the parts the same issue continued. This time they said it was an electrical issue and just left. They informed the home warranty who then sent an electrician and there were no electrical issues. The tech from this contractor came back out a third time and since the exact same issue persisted he claimed it was due to maintenance and the dryer needing to be cleaned. Something that you would think could be diagnosed from the start along with the other things he said were needed but this was the diagnosis on his third visit. Also, they didn't even offer to do the maintenance which I know is not covered by the home warranty, but I would think they can at least offer it so I may decide whether or not to pay out of pocket. Which by the way is exactly what I did to get the original issue resolved. I contacted another contractor, The Guy Appliance Repair and Sales, which did an amazing job and actually got the issue properly diagnosed and the dryer working again. After the maintenance it was reassigned to the new contractor which provided outstanding customer service and a very competent technician, Ricardo. Based on my personal experience I would recommend that if you come across this contactor, RUN and go with someone else because you will be extremely disappointed and out a lot of money and make you get services you don't need because of their failure to properly assess the service and repair needed. I would give one star but the technician was nice and on time. I have a vintage oven/stove that had some issues. The technician came out. He said the fix was easy, finding parts might not be. I called twice in the next two weeks to get an update. Each time I spoke to someone on the phone who said they were looking for more info and would call by the end of the day. They didn't. I called my home warranty company and was told the repair was approved. I called a third time to the warranty company to ask when they would do the repair. They said they'd call back. The next day the home warranty company called to say a new company has been assigned. I called A.R.E again and they said my repair had been closed out, they had no info for me, I would have to talk to the warranty company. Three weeks wasted. read more

This is a -0 review. Worst Appliance Repair company ever. I have a $4000 Kitchenaid fridge (under home warranty with Old Republic). It stopped cooling, so this company was sent to me to repair. Worst Customer Service ever (on hold over 45 mins multiple times, then voicemails never returned). Diagnosis appeared OK (spent 30 mins on tablet entering stuff), and technician who actually showed up to do the real work pointed out missed diagnosis and additional parts need to be ordered. And from there everything went to hell in a hand basket. Initial repair held for only 24 hours, and then he showed up 2 other times over a '(3) month period' to troubleshoot and re-repair. Apparently, Customer Service played games with the rework dates and slow-rolled everything - she thought that might be fun as I was highly upset! Then technician walked away saying he refused to fix a secondary coolant leak, yet his repairs failed and let chemical coolant leak into my home....he told me to call the warranty company to resolve. Seriously, you billed for repairs that have failed 3 times and you are a 'licensed' contractor - and you said to hell with it...OMG. Filed complaint against License #45177 and this company with CA Licensing Board, Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA). Filed (2) BBB complaints, filed complaint with Chamber of Commerce as well. We used the location servicing Ventura CA to diagnose and repair a GE 2 in 1 Washer Dryer. The washer was not locking the top load lid after the maintenance men moved it out to get to a drainage issue, which we explained to the repair technician when he arrived. Without any diagnosing if the issue was electrical or not by checking any diagnostic codes, he stated they are not correct or trustworthy. He then said the computer board and lock mechanism had to both be replaced costing $531 parts and labor. After replacing both parts, the issue was not fixed. He then started pushing down on the body realizing that the lid was not making full contact with the body to allow for the lid to lock. This was likely the problem all along he explained. He then did not offer to put the original parts back that he replaced to confirm they were likely not needed. This seemed very unfair and dishonest. The washer is only a little over a year old. After calling the office back in Ventura, they said he stated that the parts 'needed' to be replaced, an outright lie, and that the original parts were already sent back.We then asked for some type of compensation since he wasn't willing to put the original parts back. Is this your way of doing business? Push parts that may not be needed, and then refuse to put parts back? Or are you willing to admit this was unfair, a mistake was made, and consider some type of compensation as a reputable business with strong ethics and treating customers fairly? read more

This company was hired by First American Home Warranty to repair our ice maker. The original inspection was back in October of 2023. They then came out about 7 times over the next several months. During each of the visits they sited that we need to pull the ice maker in/out in order to avoid damage or water leaks. In the second to last visit they put the ice maker back (different tech than previous visits) and ultimately caused a major leak which was not discovered for several days. After numerous failed attempts they claimed they needed to take the unit to their shop to complete the repair properly. I believe they were milking First American for each service call and upon the final installation they said wait 24 hours to confirm the repair was successful. In this disappointing visit they did not even reconnect the water line. Immediately the ice maker was producing water in the bucket. They failed miserably. Customer service is terrible and techs are not knowledgeable. I do not recommend and if any of the warranty companies insist upon using them BEWARE. Negative stars if possible. read more

They scheduled canceled rescheduled never showed up at the time frame came two hours later in the evening which we wasn't home then when they finally came technician checked the machine used my restroom never told me what was wrong. Proceeded to say he would order the parts which would take 2-5 days then Another week to schedule to come fix it. He submitted his report to our warranty and we got denied because he claimed we overloaded our washer was abusing it and that's the reason they denied us. The women who answer the calls and make them are awful people. They called me today at 3:00 PM to advise that I need a contractor to "pull out" my refrigerator for a repair slated for 8 am tomorrow. This company is the most unprofessional company for appliance repair. I called to understand why their technician told American Home Shield the knob was broken and is was not normal wear and tear. They would not let me speak to the manager nor the technician. I explained my cleaning lady found it on the floor and I had picture the knob had fallen off. They told me they needed to order a ice container which I honest think they were trying to drag time as the ice box I got was used and gross. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY as the problem will get worse!!! Every review before mine says it all. I believe this company is running some sort of scam with American Home Shield. If I could give zero stars, I would. Appliance Repair Experts is hands down the worst repair service I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. My experience with them was an absolute nightmare from start to finish. When the technician arrived, he asked our house guests to call my wife so that she could explain the issue we were having with our washer machine. When my wife asked for Yan's number so as not to disturb our guests, he refused and told her to tell him right now what's wrong. When she described the issue he rudely told her we were overloading the washer. She tried to explain that the water was not draining even with a small load he refused to believe her and said he would take a look. We tried calling their customer service to explain the situation, but they said Yan would write his report within 24-48 hours and submit his findings to American Home Shield. The minute Yan left the house our guests ran a very, very small load of wash and the washer did not drain. We tried explaining this to American Home Shield and they said they needed to wait for Yan's report before taking further action. I did some digging on Yelp and Better Business Bureau and have since learned that both AHS and Appliance Repair Experts have hundreds of 1 Stars combined and numerous complaints on BBB. By numerous I mean thousands. AHS has had over 24,000 complaints in 3 years and over 6,000 complaints in 12 months. I ended up having to call a different repair service to actually get my washer fixed properly. The new technician took one look at it and immediately identified the issue that Appliance Repair Experts completely missed. Save yourself the headache and avoid Appliance Repair Experts at all costs. They are incompetent, unprofessional, and clearly have some sort of arrangement with American Home Shield. read more

I was assigned this repair company based on the warranty on my brand new side-by-side refrigerator/freezer. The freezer is making a buzzing noise (similar to your cell phone indicating there's an unread text message (not the ice maker or water line). The Technician arrived on time. That was the only positive thing about the interaction. he was unprofessional in his approach, was swearing in his explanation of what the problem could be and even laughed and made me feel incompetent as to the explanation of what was going on with my unit. I am not a technician, but did my research as recommended and discovered this is not a normal or an expected noise, especially of a new machine. He first tried to tell me it was my dishwasher indicating the end of the cycle and that his mother had the same noise. That they had a big laugh out of it, and even at their store amongst all the technicians, laughing, how funny it was that we would mistake this noise as an issue. I had recorded the noise and he then admitted that it was coming from the refrigerator. He did not connect any kind of diagnostic equipment, he did not have an answer to the problem and stated that since the freezer was working correctly, the insurance would not fix it. I have since called again to the warranty company, and they have assigned another company to resolve my issues. I advise you to stay away from this company. read more

A repair person utilizing company vehicle entered my community behind me without being let in by anyone, followed me thru my community pushing their vehicle so close behind me waving their hands and gesturing at me. Our community has a 15mph speed LIMIT, however this person clearly wanted me to speed, that would cause damage to my vehicle if I hit speed bumps any faster than I was going.
