I had a dryer that suddenly stopped working and needed a repair. The dryer in question was a 30 year old Kenmore gas dryer which all of the sudden stopped heating up drum to dry the clothes. I looked on Google to find a local repair place to have this dryer looked at and fixed. I spoke with a person named Michelle who I have to admit was the utmost professional and went out of her way to give me the breakdown of pricing and the possibility of me purchasing a used dryer in case the dryer I had would not be able to be fixed.After speaking with Michelle and sending her my old dryer information., I was in contact with Tony the repair technician. He called me up and told me straight up that he could not repair my dryer as it was too old and the parts for it would be hard to come by. Mind you , Tony never actually came out to look at the gas dryer, as he told me this based on the information I gave him over the phone. I thought that was kind of strange, but then again, who am I to question someone that knows more than me about this sort of thing.I am a Marine veteran and live off a military pension as well as being on disability and, so money is hard to come by each month just to survive let alone making a big purchase like a dryer. I had no choice but to purchase a Kenmore dryer from Appliance World for $225, plus it would cost me another $200 for installation. So what turned out to be a request for a dryer repair job, now was going to cost me $425. I said, well okay I need a dryer , so I went ahead and agreed to have them deliver the dryer and hook it up for me the next day. Later on that day, I texted Michelle and asked her if I could get a Military discount on the dryer and installation as I usually get many discounts that save me money. I was told I would get a 5% discount off the purchase of the dryer and installation cost. Kind of cheap if you ask me, as most businesses give 10% for people that served in the military, but 5% is better than nothing I said. Tony arrived the next day and took out the old dryer and delivered the Kenmore gas dryer. He said he had to leave and come back as his regular service truck broke down. After an hour and a half Tony finally shows up again. When he did get here, he went down into the basement for what I thought was to hook up the gas dryer to the existing gas line but He came up the stairs and old me that he could not hook up the gas dryer as he did not want to touch it. Okay I said, now what do I do? He said I had to hire a plumber to install the gas dryer to the existing gas line. Are you serious I said? I asked Tony him if he knew anyone that could do this for me at a good price and he said he didn't know anyone. Seriously?? You are in the business of repairing and installing dryers and other appliances and you don't know anyone that could have helped me? So now here we were on a Thursday and I just paid $225 for a dryer that I cant even use. If that were not enough, I NEVER got the 5% Military discount towards the purchase off the dryer that I was promised. It felt like he made his sale, the hell with you, I cant help you no longer, have a nice day. After 5 stressful days on the phone, I had to pay $275 to a licensed plumber to hook up my gas dryer, who said that the existing gas line was absolutely fine and that the place you bought the dryer could easily have hooked it up. I was so upset dealing with Tony and Appliance world. This is not how a customer and Military Veteran should be treated. I'm still waiting for an apology from Tony and my Military discount. NEVER AGAIN will I use Appliance World or even suggest it to anyone. I just hope and pray my used gas dryer does not break down. read more

I found this company to be one of the most unreliable small businesses that I have ever hired. They repaired my refrigerator 3 weeks ago with several new parts. The refrigerator was not functioning for a week. The reason given was part availability. Blamed Covid19 as the issue. The unit failed again last week. Called to arrange a service call on Tuesday and was told that the he could not arrive until Thursday. On thursday he texted to push back to Friday. On Friday morning he texted to say the he could not squeeze me in but would be here on Saturday morning. Did not come on Saturday and neither called or texted with an explanation. I then sent a text asking him to be here the following Monday to finally take care of the issue. Again, no response to text or calls. Poor communications and a lack of business ethics. read more

So appreciative! I am so glad we called! For the last two weeks our fridge has been getting warmer and warmer. We finally called them yesterday and the very same day he came out, fixed it, and this morning it was back to normal! We are so thankful! I bought my son and his girlfriend a wash machine about 9 months ago, no problems whatsoever. They carried it up the second floor, took the old one away, doesn't get much better than that! All for a very reasonable price! read more

Purchased a fridge that stopped working 3 weeks later. The fridge literally froze. They refused to give me a refund but said they would "fix" it. They came out and unplugged the fridge. It thawed out, and then they were back the next day to plug it back in and declare it "fixed". 2 weeks later it was frozen again and not working. I thought that buying from an actual business would protect me from something like this, but it did not. I do not recommend this business at all. read more
