At a recent visit my wife and I had a number of different beers, varying from very good to outstanding. I love that they serve 4/8/12oz pours. Getting a bunch of 4oz pours lets you try a lot and see what you like. They recently (in the last year or so) got a new brewmaster who spent some years at Fox Farm Brewery in nearby Connecticut. If you know Fox Farm, you know how great their beers are. Apponaug has stepped up their game. Food. We got some chicken sliders and pulled port sliders and a 'side' of fries. The fries were a mountain of perfectly cooked, crispy and hot shoestring fries. Perfect. The hot chicken sliders and the pulled pork were also outstanding. I look forward to trying other menu items soon. Service was on point, friendly and our bartender was masked which is greatly appreciated. Ambience is phenomenal. Do you like sitting outside next to a river? Do you like firepits? Live music? Ok, then you will love this place. Value. With so many breweries in RI it can be hard to keep up! This charming spot is tucked away in the Pontiac Mills (home of NYLO, across from the Warwick Mall) but has plenty of signage and was easy to find. It was busy on the Saturday afternoon that we stopped in but not crazy. We quickly were served at the bar and took our beers outside. The patio wasn't officially open yet so no service out there but that was fine as we were just stopping in to try a beer or two or so we thought. The outside space is pretty large and relaxing, there were picnic tables, the obligatory corn hole and the best part were the adirondack chairs along the river! We were able to snag 2 and hung out for a while sampling the Fly Wheel & Viscosity beer, both were very good. Even with it not being patio season just yet there were plenty of people hanging out there and lots of dogs to pet! We hadn't planned on staying for food but spent so much time outside that it was now dinner time so decided to grab a table inside. Tables are seat yourself and the servers are very quick to notice and take your order. We went with 2 other beers, Rosales and Missing Piece and again were both good. All the snack type foods sounded good so we made a meal out of those. Started with the house chips, cooked very well and the sriracha aioli was so so tasty. We really liked the wings, they were nice and crispy and the dry rub was a little spicy and had a hint of sweetness. I would highly recommend the wings. We also got the pulled pork fries, they were good but not great. The fries were cooked well and we liked the beer cheese but I think they could have used maybe a little more of the pulled pork on them. They had some good looking desserts too but we were too full. We for sure will be back and I've been raving about the place ever since. I kept saying "who knew this awesome spot was hidden here by the mall?" You feel like you are miles away from the chain restaurant mecca that is this area of Warwick. Looking forward to checking out the patio in the summer. read more

If you want to find the perfect place to meet your family or friends to have amazing drinks, food with friendly staff... look no further. The owners are great and the beer menu is absolutely packed full with more than you can imagine. Apponaug also has other cocktails and wine if beer isn't your thing. I had a blueberry sour ale and it was just awesome. My friend had a mimosa and she loved it. For an appetizer, we split the homemade soft pretzel and it came out piping hot and full of flavor. It also came with queso dipping sauce and spicy mustard. Delicious. For dinner, I had the red hot hen flatbread. Buffalo chicken with caramelized onion, blue cheese crumbles and drizzled with ranch. I loved it. My friend had the cheeseburger sliders and she said they were great too. For dessert we split the homemade ring dings. These were awesome too. Interestingly enough we were in the Baltimore airport, on our way home and talking about beer, when the couple in front of us turned around to join our conversation, and they recommended the Apponaug Brewing Company. We hadn't heard of it, but you can't go wrong with a brewery so we decided to try it. The Apponaug Brewing Company is located in the Pontiac Mills, next to the Nylo hotel. It's a large, indoor space in a refurbished factory building, including a large patio with lighted umbrellas and a view of the Pawtuxet. This was such a cozy space. You can sit at a table or take your beer to the edge of the water and enjoy it in an Adirondack chair. They have a good selection of beers, along with a variety of foods from bar snacks like their ginormous pretzel, chips and salsa, to tacos, sliders and pizza. I have to say, their queso was AMAZING. The waitstaff was so friendly, constantly checking in to see if we needed more beer or food, and no one rushed us even though we lingered for a while with friends. Came here on a sunny Saturday afternoon and it was pretty warm. The place was packed with no where to sit and drink your beer and no where to stand to do it either. The beers we ordered were OK nothing I would go out of my way to get again, so much better around. Shout out to proclamation ales! The coolest thing about this location is the space, it's in an old factory with a river right alongside. We went outside to sip on our beers because we had no choice but it was also nice out, there's a huge outdoor space that is underutilized. No games of any sort no tables set up just tucked away. Some chairs yes. A fire pit that they didn't have propane for. Such a bummer and it would have been an otherwise fun environment on a sunny 50 degree December day. What a night !!! Loved this new cozy place. We came to know about this recently and thought to give it a try. It didn't disappoint at all. The location was good, ample space, lots of parking. Summers should be lovely here as they have got outside seating and deck is right next to the river. The service was prompt. They have got community seating option, so getting table was easy. We liked their barrel seating, pretty fancyyyyy, though we ended up swapping it with a bar table as it was not so comfortable. The food menu was mostly bar apps. We ended up trying 4-5 small plates. Hummus was nice, chicken with waffles was awesome, chicken wings was nice but would have been better if they had more variety of sauces which is not so dry(would have gone well with all the beers). Beer selection was nice, especially 'Weathering Steel' and 'Hydrostatic'. They got something for every taste buds. We had a pleasant time here. Always a great time when we visit Apponaug Brewing. Today was one of the first beautiful days of spring and Apponaug was the perfect place to spend our evening. We tried The Journey, Ursus, Exercise in Subtlety and Busy Beaver. I was particularly impressed by The Journey and Busy Beaver, the latter which was recommended to us by our lovely waiter Nick. He was a pleasure, and checked in on us frequently to make sure we were taken care of. Also, the house-made queso is a must try, with their house-made potato chips or their shoestring french fries. Both are delicious and they give a very large serving. Easily enough for 2 or 3 people to share and be satisfied. They frequently change up what's on tap so we'll definitely be back for the next sunny day to sit in their spacious outdoor seating area. read more

First time here last night. Its a brewery, so lets start with the beer. There are 7 choices of beer. I thought all of the beers I sampled were very good. All the beers are my kind of beers (ipa's, craft lagers, etc.). However, they do not have a light beer on their menu. Not everyone drinks craft beer and would probably be beneficial for them to add a lighter beer. Only other thing I would suggest for the rest of the menu is to add a pino grigio as it is probably the most ordered/popular white wine. The food was very good as well. To be honest, I didn't have high expectations for the food as their specialty and concentration would most likely be on the craft beer. Note that their menu is intended to share as it is more of an appetizer than a main course, but good sized portions. We tried the following: Pulled pork fries: Very tasty, but hardly had any pulled pork on it. Large order of chicken wings: Dry rub is excellent and a lot of meat on the bone, but makes you thirsty. Pretty sure that is what they are going for. Cheeseburger sliders: Very delicious. Cooked perfectly at medium temperature. Sauce that goes with it is very good. Chicken and waffles topped with bits of bacon. Waffles were a bit overcooked and became very crunchy. Still had decent flavor. The chicken inside the waffles was fried and very tender. Chicken in the waffles was one of the best chicken meals I've had. If they cook the waffles less well done, this could be their best seller. Highly recommend this place for dinner, beers and hanging out! They even have games you can pull off a shelf and play. Came in here last Saturday (about two tweets after they opened, I think) as a group of three. I had the viscosity (stout), raw materials (berliner weiss) and weathering steel (ipa). All three of the beers were really good. We also split nachos (good, not great), fried chicken and waffle sliders (absolutely delicious), burger sliders (also pretty good), and the swarm pizza (who knew honey belongs on a pizza?!). The design of the space is very cool. It was rainy the day we went but I imagine that on a sunny day that the patio is lots of fun and the inside space gets tons of natural light. The seating situation was a bit tough when we first got there. They're doing a "sit wherever you can find a space" policy and it created some lurkers by tables. How many good things can I say about Apponaug Brewing? How much time you got? Their rotating beer selection is always fresh and delicious and their descriptions are spot on! Not sure what you like, ask, or get any one of their beers in a small glass. So far all the beers I have had were really tasty. So much so that I always seem to be bringing home a growler or some cans. Their food is great. All the stuff I want with a few pints. Great pretzels, tacos, the chicken sandwich is SO SO SO good, I am in love with their flatbread and the numerous types of delectable french fries. Don't forget the patio. I would live on their patio if they let me. Super cozy, fire pits, wine barrels, comfy chairs, DOG FRIENDLY, and the river runs right up to the patio. Love it! read more

This was our 2nd time here. First time was in the winter, indoors, pre-COVID. As brewpub fans, we enjoyed it then. This feeling was reinforced with our most recent outdoor visit (outdoors to enjoy the sunshine - all vaxxed). There is a beer style for everyone, with many good IPAs. Great new addition to the Rhode Island Brewpub scene. I have been here a few times already and each time has a been a great experience. They currently have about 8 beers to choose from and you can get 2oz (available as a flight), 8oz, and 16oz pours. All of the beers I have had so far have been great. I would highly recommend the stout or the raw ingredients with the raspberry. Along with their beers they have a great food menu. It consists of a variety of appetizers, wings, sliders, and tacos. You must get the wings!! They are a dry rubbed style and some of the best I ever had. The chicken and waffle sliders are also quite delicious. Located conveniently near the Warwick Mall in a converted mill, it is a cool space to grab a few of their beers (they also have wine & liquor), share a snack with friends, or grab lunch/dinner. Came with my fiancé to check out the new brew pub! We loved their selection of beers and tried all 8. My favorites were the Saison, Lager and the Pale Ale. That's just my flavor profile but I thought they had a good selection and the beer tasted good and we would solely just come back for the beer. The service was wonderful which is not always the case when a new place opens so the staff was trained well which I very much appreciated. We got the pretzel with beer cheese. It was not what we were expecting. The menu failed to mention that the pretzel had everything seasoning on it which was not our favorite and the beer cheese lacked salt and I personally did not care for it. My fiancé got the chicken and waffle sliders they they were great! It was a good portion of chicken and the chicken was juicy and cooked well. My only feedback on this was that there was a butter on top of the waffle where you would hold it which made more a messy experience. I got the margarita flatbread which I thought was fabulous and really enjoyed the tomato sauce. Stopped by with my family last Saturday and we had an all around fantastic experience. As places are just opening up post-COVID, we've been very selective with our choice of dining/drinking, and Apponaug knocked it out of the park: Atmosphere: Located in a renovated mill, Apponaug offers both indoor and outdoor seating. With great weather, we opted for outdoor. They have one of the larger outdoor spaces for a brewery with lots of tables (even socially distanced), umbrellas with ample shade, and a spot right on the banks of the nearby river. In terms of COVID guidelines, everything was super clean, hand sanitizer was available, and all staff were in masks. There's a lot right outside the building that offers plenty of parking, and I believe parking is available on the street as well. Beer: They had about 6 options available on tap, with one additional stout from Shaidzon. What I really appreciate about Apponaug is the variety of beer styles they offer, especially if you're brining along friends who may not yet be quite into some of the stronger NEIPA flavors that dominate other brewery scenes. When we visited, they had 2 NEIPAS, a fruited sour, belgian wit beer, rye ale, and kolsh available. I tried the NEIPAs and rye, and found each crisp and light (perfect for a warm day), but with defined, mature flavors coming through. They offer beer in 4oz, 8oz, and 16oz sizes. Food: I have to admit, when reading the menu online I had low expectations considering their menu consists largely of standard pub style food. Boy was I wrong! I ordered the chicken sliders and wish I had taken a photo before digging in. They came with huge, real chicken breasts that we super juicy and perfectly seasoned. Definitely a bigger portion than I was expecting for $12. The rest of my party ordered the asian steak tacos and burger sliders, and everyone thought the flavors were great and the meat was cooked perfectly. Far exceeded expectations. I wish I could give separate star ratings based on food, beer and atmosphere. 5 stars for beer! We even left with a four pack of the Norwegian style farmhouse ale and the light ale. Atmosphere 5 stars for both the ambience, and the friendly staff. The outdoor patio is great! Although a little sterile if there aren't people there to warm it up. Unfortunately the food gets 2 stars. The french fries are amazing, with good dipping sauces. I was very disappointed with the kale caesar. In a previous yelp review they used baby kale instead of the cheap stuff they have now. The kale was not cut properly with a lot of stems and large pieces. The dressing had little flavor and was heavy on the mayo. The chicken tenders were extremely dry and difficult to eat. So don't go hungry, and it's a winner. read more

My favorite new place to draw on weekend afternoons! Beers are all amazing and the food is definitely more thoughtfully prepared and less heavy than you might expect from a brewery menu, even the fried items are done correctly so as to not be super greasy. Staff are all very friendly and efficient, and every time I've been they seem to be very adequately staffed. Outside is dog friendly and there are quite a few there on the weekends, bring your Bernese mountain dogs on Saturdays so I can snuggle them! Lots of space to park and plenty of seating, deck overlooks a stream and woods beyond, makes a great vibe overall. Growlers are very reasonably priced read more

WONDERFUL! Came here on a beautiful fall Sunday afternoon, the bar area is open and spacious - fun board games and cards available for play. The brewing area is 100% visible from the dining area. We sat outside on their patio overlooking the rest of the mill buildings and the water. Flights were tasty and fairly priced. Service was wonderful. Food menu was unique and affordable!
