The owner was such a nice guy that it almost pains me to report that I didn't care for the $12.50 Classic Caesar I had here (Photo 9). Even though I know he made it himself and the serving size was generous, it tasted kinda like a pre-packaged salad you might find in a convenience store. The baby romaine was chopped a little too small. It also suffered from an overabundance of grated Parmesan cheese and Caesar dressing. The only aspect I didn't have a complaint about were the garlic croutons . I have a feeling I might've fared better with one of the sandwiches or wraps. I'd like to give him another chance if my appetite lines up with those sections of his menu. This is a lovely spot to study an afternoon away with tasty food. The sandwiches were a bit cumbersome to eat and also pretty pricy for the portion, but delicious! There is a small upstairs and a decent amount of plugs for laptops etc. Located on Irving it's convenient but it's past the busyness of the Main Street. read more

If I could give zero stars i would. the waitress with the blue hair is amazing and so sweet. we had order matcha and none of them were drinkable. they all tasted like warm milk. when we complained we were offered to make new drinks but since the first experience had been so terrible we tried to swap themout of sodas but were told we had to talk go to the manager. this is the first time in my life a manager yelled at me for my order being "incorrect " because i choose to add flavor to my drink , something that was offered to me. The manager was so rude yelled at us in front of other customers simply for expressing being dissatisfied and then yelled at his employee. I really enjoyed my breakfast here. The vibe was peaceful and the service was on point. Asha was great in explaining the menu and showing that the breakfast menu was different than lunch. I've walked by Cafe La Flore many times and finally walked in for a bite. And what a bite it was! I have always appreciated presentation, food for the eyes. My smoked salmon sandwich is built beautifully and the ingredients are fresh. My sandwich came with soup or salad and I chose the cream of spinach. Service was cordial and the cafe is quietly decorated with art. I ended my meal with a latte. This exceeded all expectations. Will go back to try more. read more

Manager was uncooperative and rude, and told us it was our fault we added different syrups... Not only that, immediately shifted the blame towards the poor server (who tried her hardest to accommodate us). If you don't know what matcha is, why sell it. It had a beautiful presentation which I wasn't expecting and was one of the best sandwiches I've had in a while. I also ordered the Chilaquiles and all I gotta say is this rendition of chilaquiles is the saddest I have ever seen. I recommend the chef and staff look up on google what chilaquiles looks like. Roll is the perfect texture--not too soft but not too crunchy--while the egg whites are perfectly cooked. We always ask for extra hot sauce. Do I know what hot sauce they use? No. It remains a mystery. But I will gladly drench my sandwich in their hot sauce every time. The Healthy Eater also comes with pineapples, strawberries, and bananas with strawberry yogurt--a nice refresher after the sandwich. The owner is very sweet and service is always friendly. They don't have that many employees so please be patient, especially when there are a lot of customers. A charming French Café in the quiet part of the Inner Sunset District caught my eye... Cafe La Flore on Irving! Oh the memories... Perhaps I've been here before, honestly don't recall, but back in the day, I lived just a stones throw away. It's odd how this wonderful Café has somehow flown under the radar for so long. Reviews are high but the location on Irving is more residential, so hm I guess, people forget about this gem? Oh well, as I enter, I find myself alone with the all French staff lol. It's early so that could have explained the low foot traffic. I am greeted in French offered a cozy corner window seat. Perfect start! I am treated with kindness, respect, and with patience as I peruse the menu. The menu is fusion French with Modern American, yet I decide to get a Breakfast Burrito instead lol, ironically it reminded me of when I ordered one in Paris! Silly cravings! For my beverage I decide on a Matcha Latté. I chill. The Matcha Latté arrives quickly with beautiful art - all about those details! On point in taste and a generous serving makes life worthwhile. The Breakfast Burrito aka Morning Wrap arrives shortly. The presentation of Morning Wrap was so French in aesthetics, but of course with the scrambled eggs, potato hash, bacon, avocado, pico de gallo, cheddar well it's obviously a boujee Burrito lol. *snap* And it was delicious! I don't know how this cafe isn't more popular! We came here around 2:45pm on Saturday afternoon after seeing the food pictures on Yelp, and we found street parking nearby. The inside feels casual and cozy. The two staff members were really nice and attentive. We got the chicken salami sandwich, breakfast burrito, and an iced latte.
