Typical solicitor; typical lies... promises they do this and that and don't deliver. The salesmen that came to my door kept on and on about how they "treat curb to back fence" and how other companies products don't work because they use spray and it is gone after a rain. They said they are superior to others because they use granules to treat the yard. Well..... The next day the service person came out and guess what; they used a spray and didn't lay a single granule. Also, they just sprayed the perimeter of the house where my prior pest control would treat 4-6 feet out around the house. When I asked about granules, she said they don't do that unless it is for fleas and even then they don't treat the whole yard. I would give zero stars but they get one because they did spray fence line and around my sheds on 1 acre. When I texted the salesman about the lie, he said they would come back out but have yet to see them. I'm glad I didn't have to pay for this initial treatment which is usually 249.00 because I told them I just paid my current provider for a treatment and wasn't going to be double hit. Big song and dance but my advice, stick with traditional services that you have to contact and not a door to door salesman. Lesson learned. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. We had them for over a year and they tried to be helpful but NONE of their pest products work. We have more mice, spiders and insects in our house then we ever have. Sure they come back when you call them but they put out "sticky" traps for everything and their answer is always - if it doesn't work just call us - After 4 times of calling them out and our pest problem got worse you lose patience. Worst pest control company ever. Do not sign contract because you will be stuck with worthless service. Jacob Martin "talked" me into accepting the service to have the back yard sprayed for fleas. He said they only sprayed the yard but the inside could also be sprayed. I told him that we had dogs with fleas and we wanted the yard and inside sprayed for fleas. When the technician arrived he told me that it would cost extra to have the inside of the house sprayed for fleas. After 2 sprayings our dogs still had fleas even though we had bought treated collars for the dogs. I tried cancelling service but was reminded that I was under contract and had to pay a cancelation fee. So we have to continue service until contract is over. What a waste of money. SCAM..... Negative stars. From customer perspective, company sucks. We pay for premium package, so about $140 every 2 months, still have trouble with roaches inside and mosquitoes and fleas outside even though our property has been serviced multiple times and our paid for package entails coverage against these pests. The company's communication with customers SUCKS mostly because their departments are not on the same page. I've called to customer service 5-6x in just the 3 months we've been with them, established a game plan with the customer service rep each time and thought "okay, I know what to expect now," only to be confused again once the technician gets on property to spray And describes a different policy, different schedule, different account details, etc. Working with this company has become one of the biggest headaches in my life-- and I was an ER nurse when the the Covid pandemic began, so good job on them *insert eye roll* read more

Customer Service over the phone and actual tech who came out were helpful. My issue is with the sales person who came, knocked on my door, and misled me into signing up. I was told I could cancel after 2 visits without a early termination fee and that there would be 4 visits contracted in the year agreement. Sounded good, sign me up. I signed up on the salesman's tablet and believed what he said to be true. After 2 visits I attempt to cancel and I'm told I will have to pay $200 early termination fee or continue to pay for the remaining 3 visits. I already had 2 so it should be 2 more visits if anything and I was told no fee. I get these guys have to meet quotas but this is ridiculous. Misleading and misrepresenting a service to meet that number, real shady. So now it was either pay $200 to cancel or $300 to finish out contract. The phone rep did offer to lower the remaining 3 service fees or reduce the early termination fee, but but that's still money out of my pocket due to a shady misleading salesman. This guy makes the whole business look bad as either way they get paid and I'm left feeling swindled. Stay away. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! Terrible service, terrible response times, terrible product. A salesperson, Jordan, originally contacted us at the house just after moving in. We had some major mosquito, fly, and mill worm issues we noticed right after moving in so I thought it might be a good idea to try a pest control service. WRONG. The first guy to come out and spray was pretty friendly but after he left we noticed absolutely no changes in the problems we were having. Called the salesperson, he had somebody sent out (took about a week) and he was there for about 10 minutes before leaving. Third time somebody tried to come out he had to cancel because of rain but offered to spray inside. So I contacted the salesperson for a fourth time, he says he will send somebody out. I get an email saying they'll be here on Thursday and no show or call or text or anything. I contact the salesperson AGAIN and he says he will check what's going on. Somebody finally comes out the FOLLOWING THURSDAY and then charged me $140 for the visit. None of these visits fixed ANY of the issues so I called the customer service to cancel and the guy says we can either get another free service or cancel service with them but they charge $199 to cancel services. He said he could waive the cancellation fee of $199 but wouldn't give me a refund on the last "service". He said he was the loyalty manager so there was nobody else to speak to about getting a refund for their terrible product since it was outside of the 4 week window for the money back guarantee. Remember, it took them a WEEK each time to respond to my requests for service and the third and fourth times I called should have been immediately handled and they were not. If you're looking for a pest control company AT ALL, please spend your money elsewhere because this company is not worth it. This company uses predatory business practices and their product simply doesn't work. First, the predatory business practice they use: They offer a reasonably priced offer to get you in at $49.99 (plus tax), which is a discount over their normal quarterly charge. You would think that they would autodraft towards the end of the first quarter. Nope. 6 weeks in and they bang their quarterly fee (which should be paying for the second quarter)!! SCAM!!! Then to cancel their service - THEIR SERVICE DOESN'T WORK!! - they charge you an early termination fee!! SCAM #2!!! When we signed up I explained to the uber agressive salesman that I didn't think it would work. He assured me it would. Three treatments later and we have as many bugs as we had before. Their sales rep is a liar. Their sales rep came to our door saying our neighbors just signed up with them. It just so happened I was having spider issues and the well dressed, well spoken sales rep told me they could eliminate the spiders and wasps. I asked him if the spray is toxic and he said not at all (a complete lie). He said it's made with chrysanthemum oil and is completely safe. I thought that sounded great and decided to give it a try. I let them spray thinking it was safe for my dog and plants. Then the next time a guy came out to spray I asked him again, "that spray isn't toxic, right?" Well, this time I got a very honest guy - Marcus. Marcus said it is definitely toxic as it kills pest and they cannot spray it around edibles. I have edibles all over my property so I was sickened to hear that, since they sprayed that toxin on my property the first time!. I told Marcus not to spray but instead to call his manager, which he did on the spot. She immediately credited my earlier payment and canceled the account and said this was not acceptable behavior by the sales rep and she would report him. I gave them a 2 because Marcus was excellent/honest and the manager was honest and resolved the issue quickly, but they need to deal with their sales force flat out lying to get the business. If you are okay with toxins being sprayed they might be worth a try, particularly if you get Marcus. In fact, you should ask for Marcus. He'll do the right thing, and treat you and your property with respect. read more

Had a very uncomfortable experience with a door-to-door salesman from this company. He knocked/rang the doorbell repeatedly, and eventually my husband broke our "don't answer the door during dinner" rule to just get him to stop. Once the door was open, he stepped forward and got into the doorway - we likely would have hit him if we tried to close the door. He started his spiel, and my husband politely stopped him and said we weren't interested...this didn't even phase him. He continued on his speech as if nothing was said. He talked for another 5 minutes before my husband said again 'not interested'. He THEN asked for our names, to which we told him to please leave. Next he asked if we would be home tomorrow. (I've never had a solicitor ask that before...very sketchy). Eventually my husband just said 'no thanks' and shut the door. When I went to the window to get a better look at the guy, he was booking it out of the neighborhood; I guess all those other neighbors who 'were getting serviced today' already had the work done? After this encounter, I'll make sure to avoid this company at all costs. Hyper-aggressive tactics seem to be the name of the game. read more

The sales person came door to door today and told me that my neighbor next-door called for pest-control and as a special I could get it service for $1 which would normally cost $219. I could then decide if I wanted to continue service. However that was a lie my next-door neighbor never called them and he told her the same thing that he told me. Fraud, awful, dishonest and what not. I was signed up with another company a sales person came on my door and convinced me that they will perform wonders and there is no contract either and payment will be $66.xx per month. Honestly their first visit (last year) was impressive except I saw more spiders and different crawling creatures on my floor on both levels of the house. I called them up and they gave me an explanation that as everyone is getting the treatment you may see flooding for few days as these creatures are looking for a safe heaven. Moving forward I saw them one more time last year with no difference and then they disappear. They never leave a sign outside that they came for service and I signed up for inside my house, and if they are not coming in then what good it is for me. In fact I completely forgot about them as fall season started. Last week Teminix stopped by so I signed up with them as I assumed Aptive disappeared. Yesterday when I was checking my bank account I realized some R&R named company was withdrawing $117.xx amount from my account every month. I called them up right away. This morning, I got a call that you have 12 month contract and one more application remaining and that I signed up for an enhanced package that is $117 per month. I told them I am not happy and what they have taken is also OK but as I signed up with another company and I am not at all satisfied, I would like to cancel she (Aptive) told me I can't. If they were honest they would be withdrawing money under their name not under a fake name and again promising world and delivering nothing means they are fraud and trying to make quick money. We recently went with another company for our pest control needs, which the salesperson refused to accept for an answer. I tried for ten minutes to try to get him to leave, repeatedly declining. First, they send a college kid to do a high pressure sales pitch that I'm sure snags a lot of elderly people. I told the kid I'd follow up with him the next day after I had time to review Aptive. I did follow up and allowed him to proceed as most the reviews weren't about the actual service. They performed the service and the technician was very pleasant. Bigger issues didn't come until the next day and I'll outline that process: Received text telling me I had a balance. I thought this odd since I completed all the paperwork including the billing information. I called the customer service number and received a recording telling me normal business hours were from 9am to 5pm Monday through Friday. Advised as I am an existing customer I should not call back because associates at this number would be unable to assist me. Instead, I should leave a message and someone would call me back the following day. This was a big red flag so I decided to part ways with the company. I left them a message and followed up with an email. Per the contract as I was still under the 3 day cancellation period all I needed to do was send an email with my name, address, date of service by midnight of the 3rd business day. I set up service on Friday, 8/24/2018. Per their own message normal business hours are Monday through Friday. However, the contract said I only had until midnight 8/27/2018 to cancel the transaction so they only gave me one business day not three. The next day Ashley called me at 9:25 am and advised she needed me to confirm cancellation verbally so she could start the process of cancellation. I emailed her back and told her to review the contract with her legal team. I do not need to speak with her, nor do I wish to. I advised all communication going forward should be in writing and there should be very little of that. Less than 30 minutes after sending my email Sarah called me and left a lengthy message reference addressing concerns blah blah blah. My Translation: we try to follow up with phone calls so we can apply high pressure sales tactics and bully customers into giving us money. I emailed them again and apologized for not being clearer in my previous messages. I explained that I was notifying them in writing that I do not wish Aptive Environmental to call me for any reason. Future phone calls would result in an FCC complaint and referred to the Texas Attorney General. This email seemed to get through and service was canceled. To sum them up, in my opinion this company attempts to pressure customers into signing a lengthy contract, they are very shady in executing their end of the contract, and they believe they can bully their customers. I don't respond well to bullies so this didn't work well. I would stay away from this company. I would keep parents or elderly relatives away from them. read more

Don't use their service, customer service is horrible! I cancelled the service on August when I moved and they said they'll charge a cancellation fee because the early termination. I said fine, go ahead charge the fee. By end of September, they texted me saying they'll come do another service. I called back saying I already cancelled the service, so no service needed. Regardless my phone call, they still charged me $140 for the quarterly fee. So I called back and the girl was saying they misunderstood it and will use that fee towards cancellation fee. When I thought I was done with them, oh, no, how wrong I was. I started receiving emails to ask me pay the cancellation fee after that conversation. So I called back again and asked what's going on, they told me I never cancelled the service. And they'll continue charge quarterly fees since I didn't cancel. I was like are you kidding me? After 3 or 4 times phones calls, they are still charging me and and saying I didn't cancel the service. I think they just say all these good things when they try to get people sign up for their service, but when you want to cancel it, they won't let you get away that easy. It has only been a week or so since we started with the company. Ben came out this time, and he did a much better. Lenney the first rep that came out was finished within 20 minutes. Ben seemed as if he wanted to represent a company, and show what the product can do. He spent at least 45 minutes, doing the inspection the correct way, like it should have been done the first time. Rude and aggressive sales people. Started out soliciting without a permit. When they got a permit, they ignored the ordinance and were still soliciting past sunset. Same person was in the neighborhood for 5-6 days, repeatedly going back to the same homes and ringing doorbells 3-4 times a day (yes, we all talk via NextDoor!). At this point, we all know not to answer the door for the kid on the Segway from Utah...in Texas. If your services are that great, WHY do you have to be rude and aggressive in your sales tactics? The best advertising you could have is satisfied customers...not annoyed potential customers. At this point, it wouldn't matter how great your service is, your annoyance outweighs it!! read more

Active pest control service claimed that they completed my first quarterly service on 7/22/2016. I was home all day long with the blinds open and never saw anyone come to complete the service. I also have three dogs that let me know when anyone is in the yard. I called and they said that they had completed the service. I called and they swore to me that someone had been to serve our house. I called and explained so they sent someone out to the house on 7/26/2016. He knocked on the door and said that he was going to service my lawn and then he would knock on the door so that I could sign the service ticket. I watched the guy go back to his truck. He sat there and played on his cell phone and drank his soda. He was killing time so that I would think that he was out their working. He came up to the door with the paper work as if he had completed the work. I had to tell him that I saw him just hanging out in the truck drinking his soda and playing on his cell phone. Only then did he treat my lawn. The company broke their contract by failing to deliver the service on two separate occasions. read more

He was exactly on time for our appt, he was dressed professionally, courteous and patient and waited for us to round up the kids. He was swift but did a very thorough job. A salesperson came to my door and offered me a "free" service and "promotional rate" for future services. I told him that I had no interest in entering into a service contract and he assured me that I could cancel the service anytime and even made a call to someone to tell them to make sure that was part of the agreement. On the initial service they did not spray the inside of my house and told me that doing the outside is all that is necessary. After the second service that I paid full price for, I decided to cancel because I was still seeing bugs and the technician failed to even ring the doorbell but instead left a note on the door telling me that they couldn't access the back yard so they didn't perform the service in the back (I was home). Their customer portal does not have a copy of the agreement or any information about the agreement, or how to cancel so I called to cancel the service. The person I spoke to convinced me to let them try to rectify the problem telling me that I had a warranty on every service and could get re-serviced at any time and that they would also spray the inside. I agreed to continue the service and they did send someone out to do the inside of my house and complete the service in the back, but I didn't notice a difference. After the most recent service where the technician was here all of 5 minutes and did not do the inside, we still saw bugs . In fact my husband bought some Ortho bug spray at Home Depot and sprayed which did the trick. We will be moving soon and I since I don't think their service even works I called to cancel again. The person I spoke to told me that in order to cancel I would have to pay a $250.00 cancellation fee for the "free" initial service. I told her that's not what the salesperson told me and that I had specifically told the salesman that I did not want a service contract that could not be canceled and assured me that I could cancel at any time. I was told that I would receive a copy of the agreement but I never did and their customer portal does not have a copy available either. She told me that the terms of the contract said I had to have 5 services or pay the cancellation fee of $250.00 and she was magically able to access the agreement that was never provided to me. She suggested that I go ahead with the service I don't want or need because it would be cheaper than canceling. I'm already disgusted by how much money I have already paid them for their worthless service and that just added insult to injury. There is no way to describe this company other than unethical, they were pushy and misrepresented the "free" promotional service, lied about the terms of the agreement and then they didn't even provide the service they claim. I was "sold" on this service by a salesman who came by during dinner time. I asked about canceling before the next day's initial service and he said there would not be a problem but wanted my credit card or a blank check up front. After seeing their poor yelp reviews I sent an email immediately that evening asking for cancellation. I received a contract in the morning via email asking me to verify it. I responded with "please immediately cancel, I do not want your service". I got another email requesting verification of the contract and then they called with an automated message that they were on their way. I called the company, initially got through hold after a minute. As soon as I stated I did not want the service, the person put me on hold without warning and I remained on hold for 15 minutes until the service technician showed up when I finally hung up. I told the service technician I did not want the service (he was nice) and he assured me it would be cancelled. I walked back into my house to yet a third email asking to confirm my contract. Ugh. Such a frustrating experience and I am not sure it is over yet. No matter how nice the sales guy is, just say no right away and don't waste your time like I have!! read more

Sales guy walked in last summer to sign up for the services to get rid of roaches from kitchen area. They started services and roaches were still seen after few months. They increased the frequency without any success. We had to move all our kitchen stuff for them to treat the area. In October of last month, technician did not show up and never bothered to call. I called up and CSR apologized and rescheduled with the promise of technician will show up. Again same repeated behavior. Again called up same response. When third consecutive time technician did not show up then called their supervisor and after long conversation they agreed to cancel my service. Just think to emptying out your kitchen closet and putting back for THREE times for what? They did not even offer any comp or anything but promised my service will be cancelled effective immediately with no payment. Guess what, they are still ending me bills and called in Nov'19 with the promise to end this vicious cycle. Nothing happened and still getting annoying emails with bill etc... Am quite sure they don't know what they were doing as roaches were never disappeared and very unprofessional. read more

I agree with the few complaints that I read and there are too many too read. I will add to the complaints; They supposedly came and did my second spray and left a note. I received 7 notices for payment by about the 16 of the month via, e-mail, cell phone and through the mail. I called and complained about the notices, and they said they would not sent me any more notices. I received 3 more by the 23rd. I sent a check for the amount owed the 19th and as of the 26 it did not clear the bank. They should have received the payment in two days. They told me that it sometimes takes up to 2 week to clear the bank and that's not their fault and I said that was BS. I have never had a problem with my bank in 40 years of cashing and clearing the bank. I also told them I did not want to receive a 1.5% charge for not receiving it after the month. I don't trust them. I can't wait to have my agreement completed so I can cancel them. BUYER BEWARE read more

I don't have any complaints about the actual pest control service, however, their billing dept. has been terrible. First, I was debited for the full 3 months when I set up to be debited monthly. The person I spoke with couldn't refund me the money and then said I wouldn't be debited again until the following month...hello?? I just paid 3 months... When I finally got him to understand, he said I wouldn't be debited again until December. However, I was again debited the next month...for just under $5. No one could tell me why or if I will be again hit for the $5 this month. When I called I was informed that I WAS NOT set up for a monthly withdrawal. So hopefully she set it up. When I asked to speak to billing I was put on hold. After 20 minutes on hold I hung up and emailed their customer service dept. And guess who has never reached out or responded to my email. I think 3 weeks is plenty of time to respond. I will not renew with this company next year. read more

Absolutely terrible. I was optimistic about using a product marketed as "environmentally friendly" but not only did the product not stop the current issues in my home, I had an increase in bugs, including issues that did not exist before they provided service. The salesperson marketed follow-up services as a control to ensure customer satisfaction when in reality multiple services are necessary due to product ineffectiveness. I also made it clear to the salesperson that I need the right to personally schedule service and when I questioned him about the automatic scheduling clause in the contract he assured me this was not a problem and I would be able to schedule service at my convenience. In spite of his assurances service was automatically scheduled and after multiple phone calls to resolve the issue I was told that the system was automatic and there was no way to change this. The salesperson misrepresented the contract to persuade me to sign. The contract also states "We guarantee 100% satisfaction on EVERY service we perform". No one has time or should have to have a service provider return multiple times to achieve satisfaction. I cancelled my service, now they are demanding payment for initial discounted service that was no different from other quarterly services, in fact if anything it wasn't as comprehensive, yet they are seeking nearly three time the amount they charge for quarterly service. I have spoken with an attorney and will tell everyone I know - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. read more
