What a cute salon! Due to COVID, I couldn't make it to the gal's salon I usually go to, so I decided to search elsewhere (my roots were getting out of hand, lol). I came across Aqua Salon on Groupon, where I read a bunch of positive reviews. I purchased the partial highlight, cut, and blow dry with Morgan. I couldn't be happier with how my hair turned out. Morgan was so friendly, easy to talk to, and nailed the blonde highlights! Morgan not only nailed the color, she gave me one of the best cuts I've ever had. There was also another Stylist-Jean and the Owner- Kathy.. both were so kind, welcoming, and truly went above and beyond my expectations. I can't wait to come back for my next appointment! Just be sure to give yourself plenty of time (especially if you come on a Saturday during summer), to find a parking spot. read more

I go to aqua every three weeks for a brow and underarm wax with Debbie and it's always the best experience. She's kind, gentle, precise, quick and affordable! My brows are always looking fabulous - and that's super important! Debbie takes her time to make sure my brows are perfect and never disappoints. I've also gotten hair treatments from Jay! He always recommends the best products and gives the best wash I've ever had. (Are those hands magic?) He's styled my hair for vegas and a night out multiple times and it's always on point. Basically this salon covers my beauty needs! 5 stars for sure. read more

Amazing salon! Staff is super kind and helpful. I called on a Thursday around noon and they were able to see me right away. My amazing hairdresser (a man whose name I forgot unfortunately) was able to fix my color quickly (it was a brassy blonde and he transformed me back into my normal brunette). These guys know what they are doing and can fix almost any mess! Another plus, they use eco-friendly products!! :) And, while you wait for your color to set, you sit out on their beautiful balcony and watch the waves! I'm not gonna give 1 star because I might not have been clear enough with my instructions, or there might have been some mis-communication while I was describing what I wanted, but style selection notwithstanding, this was a bad haircut. I walked in and was greeted by my stylist (becky I think) offered a soft drink, and asked what I wanted for my haircut. I said trimmed short on the sides and back a little longer on top, something I can brush forward clean and professional for work then do a messy spike to go out (not verbatim, but you get the idea). She then washes my hair, and gives me a good scalp massage ( nice touch and it competes witha professional scalp massage) then I get back to the chair and get a hair cut she looks around for a magazine for me and gives me a maxim so I sit down and start reading. It's taking a while so I look up just in time to see her cut a big chunk of the top as short as the sides. Okay so at this point I realize that the style will be not at all what I wanted, but at least as a higher priced haircut ( $50 for a guy takes you into fancy haircut range) it'll be even and shaped well... ...nope This is why she gets a bad rating the haircut is uneven. After spending all that time with giving me the haircut with scissors down to a clipper length it's got bumps and divets, and she didn't even give it any texture. It's so short it looks the same with or without product, and it wasn't even cleaned up around the ears. I could have given myself a better haircut in the same style with clippers or a flowbee (having done so in the past). Given the rave reviews for this place, I should have probably made an appointment with someone, or I should have spent a little more time communicating what I wanted, but even with the style she chose to give me... she could have done it right. I still tipped $7 because she was very nice and gave me a good scalp massage, but given how shaky her hands were, she probably should have used the clippers and got me out of the chair in 10 mins instead of 50 minutes it took. read more

Never left a one star review and I was hoping I would never have to.... I was looking for a new salon to frequent in the are since I moved recently and I've never been so disappointed :( The salon is nice, clean and the staff is very friendly for sure. I described the haircut that I wanted even showed some pictures on my phone and I said that I don't do any anything special with my hair, I just wash them and let them dry I don't do any blowouts etc.. And guess what happened I got the typical haircut that yes looks nice when you walk out of the salon after all the blowout and the hairdresser work, but after I washed my hair the next day and they dried and really cried cause it looks like if I cut it myself maybe even without a mirror. Maybe someone likes hair with layers one on each other with different lengths maybe it's considered cool but not to me! I just said that I want layers around the face in the front. Not coming back for sure and now I'll have to wait to have them grow cause some of those hair are cut pretty short and don't wanna go shorter then shoulder length since I went from "ass" length just few months ago. read more

Aqua Salon is definitely worth going to. It is clean, the stylists are fantastic and the best part is you get an ocean view! I go to Kathy for blond highlites and there is no one else I would let touch my hair. Shadeh is magical. She is sweet, funny and a fantastic stylist. I came in on a rainy Friday after noon for a blowout. Not only did she do a wonderful job on my hair but she was so funny and engaging that the time really flew by. She also fed my meter for me which was a huge relief since I did not want to take my partially dry hair out into the rain. I am sad I didnt get to enjoy the ocean views but all the more reason to come back! read more

I have lived in several cities and finding a good hair dresser is always my biggest problem. Usually I only find someone when I am leaving the city. Thankgod I discovered Aqua as soon as I moved to MB rather than when I was leaving it. Been there 3 times already in last 2 months for hair cut, color and brazilian blow dry. I went to get a manicure pedicure from Debbie today and it was amazing!!! There is a small room by the front where Debbie has her manicure table and massage table which means you're not in a room of 50 other people hurrying to rush through their services- thank goodness! She is really able to take her time to give you an awesome massage and is super detailed with your cuticles/ paint!! I saw Shadeh, for the 1st time back in late jan to get my bleach blonde hair looking more natural as well as cut my dead ends. The salon is beautiful and Shadeh is extremely friendly and personable. She decided since my hair was white blonde to balayage some darker tones to help with the maintenance. I was a bit concerned at first but ended up loving it!!! I have curly hair, have lived in the area for almost two years and had yet to find a hair stylist that I would return to. I tried several different salons, and each time I was less than enthused with my haircut and service. My friend has been getting her hair done at Aqua for years, and I asked her if she would recommend anybody. I set up an appointment with Cyndi, and she was great. I will be going back, she understood the style that I was going for, and knew how to cut curly hair. This place is a little pricey, but not more than any of the other salons around. This salon was very warm and welcoming as well. I felt immediately at home as soon as I walked in, and was offered a drink multiple times throughout my cut. KATHY is my new best friend!! I am SO picky when it comes to my hair-every hairstylist's worst nightmare...I originally had an appointment at some snoby salon up in beverly hills (I have tried them all) and cancelled after I met Kathy in a boutique in Manhattan Beach. She was incredibly friendly and so down to earth. She mentioned that she owned Aqua salon and that she would cut my hair on her day off!! I have never had a haircut like this! AMAZING! And my blowout/style...I feel like I should be on the Victoria Secret runway!! The time she spent on my hair for just a haircut was truly amazing! The salon is so comfortable and cozy and just down to earth...not fussy! I am heading back next week for highlights with Kathy! I've tried out several salons in the area and Aqua is by far my favorite for multiple reasons. The warm welcome.. smiling and inviting staff is unlike anything I've experienced at a salon. I had an appointment for a cut and was greeted upon arrival, offered me a glass of wine, and escorted me to my stylists chair. Carly was my stylist and she was fantastic! She recommended a gloss treatment after surveying my damaged and very split ends, ha.Shh. I agreed and I am so glad I did. After the treatment I showed her pictures of my desired look and in less then 45 min BAM... she skillfully achieved the look. If you want a quick, inexpensive, 'in-and-out', no-frills haircut.... don't come here. If you want great customer service.... a calming, clean, and pleasurable experience (and pay a tad more)... I found this salon through Yelp before I went. I have to say I LOVE it too!! It was a little hard to find, but really nice, clean and chic inside. Kelly was my stylist and is a true professional. She introduced me to the BRAZILIAN BLOWOUT treatment. Its a non-chemical way to make hair smooth and sleek without frizz or having to use a flat iron. And it lasts about 3-4 months. I love it and it was worth the money to have some relief from the flat iron. And my hair dries so much faster. She did a great job in the highlights and cut too. And I got a parking ticket while at salon and the owner (Kathy?) covered it as a courtesy since I decided to stay longer and add a service. Its was so nice to find a great salon with nice people and real skill after looking for a long time. I have already referred people. Shadeh at Aqua Salon is such a find. I looked for a long time for a stylist that was good at balayage, a more natural way to do highlights. She is great with color and cut and is now doing an amazing job at transitioning me to my natural white hair with blonde and low lights. I purchased a Groupon for a root touch up, gloss and blow dry. I called to make an appointment and made sure to let the receptionist know it would be a bleach root touch up on dark hair(I knew I would have to pay extra). I have been dying my hair for years so I know this is something the stylist needs to know. I arrived at my appointment and the stylist let me know there was no way there was enough time to dye my hair. I let him know I told the receptionist what I needed done and his response was" receptionists don't know how long hair takes". Shouldn't a person answering phones verify appointments with a stylist before they confirm?? Very disappointed and waste of my time. :/ read more

I'm typically the girl that goes to the same people for ever or I only go to someone that was referred to by someone I trust. I found this salon by walking down Manhattan Ave. I actually work in the area and was dropping off flyers. Tracy the front desk manager was so welcoming. So out of curiosity I asked what services they offer and what's available for the same day. She suggested Jessica for color and cut. They also offer treatments with Olaplex. Luckily, I was able to book an appointment right then. I was excited and nervous at the same time but I went with my gut. Why not...The salon has great reviews, the staff was friendly, and everyone has incredible hair! I'm happy to say that I love my hair! But I've got to say beyond the great haircuts I've been getting at Aqua for some time,I really look forward to my Thursday afternoons there. A mellow vibe good music, great view and maybe even a glass of wine. What a great way to finish the day. I have very tricky hair, insanely straight, shows every cut and miss cut. Kathy and the girls always do an amazing job. If you need a cut/style or whatever, you can't go wrong. It's a shop full of cool talented people. Carlee is an awesome stylist and colorist. She cuts hair beautifully (my hair is coarse and hard to work with) - all styles. Gave me beautiful highlights... very attentive to how color can affect the quality of your hair though, so is careful not to "fry" your hair.
