The service was top notch and unlike other nail spas I enjoyed this experience start to finish. Karen was so attentive and sweet. Lots of extras in the slow beauty option and what a pleasant surprise to find out it was 20% off for first timers!! I was really impressed with the quality of products they use as well. Love their appointment booking system which sends you text messages and emails to remind and confirm. Owner is super accommodating. Free wifi and a chocolate on your way out...what more could you want. Will be back for sure!!

Numbers are often misrepresented for services and it feels as though there is a mandate to make each ticket come in at $150+. I paid $87 plus 20% tip for caked on toenail polish that is still not dry this morning. I will have to redo them myself today. My nails are fine but this is not a relaxing experience. The location is convenient but I will not be back to this store or franchise. I'm sure rent is challenging to cover in this area but a revamped staff training is needed. Feeling ripped off to be honest and I will not be back.

I asked for a regular pedicure but they pressured me to do gel on my toes too. I know gel is an extra cost but I never would have thought it would cost me an extra $30 on top of my pedicure. I essentially paid another $75 for a simple pedicure with gel. I was caught off guard when I was at the front ready to pay. Unfortunately - I will not be coming back, not because the work isn't good but because the pressure to get gel as well as the lack of transparency turned me off.

My spa day with SUE was amazing. She is a professional at what she does. Her attention to detail was like no other. I will be returning!

Sorry, but one misguided post can literally ruin someone's career, so in this case, I cannot sit by and say nothing. Bekah has done my hair 3 times, and each time has done a fantastic job. My hair is not a simple cut by any means, and certainly not anything you could replicate with clippers or a Flowbee. And each time I have been in, she not only shampoos with care, but takes her time (a proper men's haircut, if you have any hair, is easily an hour or more) and does an excellent cut. I have referred multiple friends to her, and each has told me that they left with a huge smile on their face, and a great haircut. Bekah would never do an uneven haircut, it's just ridiculous to even mention that, because she is a true professional. She was trained at the highest level, and such a basic issue as getting the cut straight would not even be an issue for her. I find it hard to believe that someone who was staring into the mirror for an hour could leave and then claim later that their haircut was uneven. It sounds like a vendetta to me, and even though I don't normally post online, couldn't let this character assassination take place. If you sit by and watch a stylist give you a cut you don't want, then you've given bad instructions, or you would say something instead to them right away so you would get the cut you wanted. I just don't believe any of what I've read today. Bekah also does excellent color, because one of my friends has a little gray, but not anymore! And Bekah is really, REALLY nice, and easy to talk to, and aside from her great hair skills, you just have fun shooting the breeze with her. She is a true pro. Aqua is great, and you will have a really great experience when you go there, I can't say enough good things about the place, or all the people that work there. read more

Aqua Salon in Manhattan Beach is as good as it gets! Between the relaxed, laid back atmosphere and the talented stylists, this place deserves a ton of praise. Suzy recently did my color and I've never gotten so many compliments on my hair. She did the highlighting process called Balyage where individual pieces of my hair were highlighted using a "painting of the hair" process. It was a GREAT way to color with precision. I would definitely recommend Suzy to anyone who is looking for a fresh and sassy change. We all know how common it is to leave a hair salon paying a ton of money and not being satisfied with our hair. This experience was truly a breath of fresh air. I was thrilled with the way it turned out. As for my cut, Kathy (the owner) is a genius. The cut she gave me added volume to my hair and framed my face beautifully. I was very impressed with her professionalism and technique. As a first time client I even received a discount and when I left I was told that if I refer 3 new people to the salon, I would receive my next haircut FREE! After living in Southern California from Marina del Rey to now Manhattan Beach over the past six years, I have never found a stylist that I was 100% happy with their work until Sara recently highlighted and cut my hair. Aqua salon is right off from the well beaten path of Manhattan Beach Blvd. on Manhattan Ave. with their entrance on 10th street. Sara did an amazing job on my blonde highlights. I haven't ever had a highlight job done this well. You can tell that she is very experienced with color, so I'm sure she would do a wonderful job even if you are not a blonde. Also, after seeing how well she cut my hair (about 3 much needed inches were taken off), I'd trust her to do a short hair cut once I'm ready to leave my long locks behind. Nikki at Aqua Salon has been cutting, coloring and styling my hair for several years, and she is FANTASTIC! She always gives me a great haircut, and does a great job with my color. "Where do you get your hair done?" is a question I get often while I'm out at the market, shopping at the mall, etc. I am a mother of two and am often very rushed. Nikki is great about fitting me in at odd times and working around my schedule. Both my daughters (10 & 12) have started getting their haircuts from Nikki as well, and they have gotten many complements at school on their new "dos". Everyone at Aqua Salon is welcoming, helpful, friendly and accomodating, and in addition, the Salon is an attractive and soothing place to sit. Yesterday, I was a bridesmaid at my friend's wedding and was visiting from Vancouver, BC, Canada for the wedding. Carlee was my makeup artist and I was 100% happy with the makeup and hair done by Carlee. I received so much compliments on my hair and makeup from others throughout the day so if I ever need to get my makeup done in LA again, Carlee is the person I am going to meet with at Aqua Salon. Other staff members were very friendly and I loved the location of the salon as well as the interior. I believe Jane Iredale's products were used for makeup and my skin felt so great even after having the makeup on for the whole day. I will have to visit LA soon again. I needed to find a local salon because I was tired of driving to West Hollywood and Venice to get my hair done. I called and talked to the owner who was really nice and put my nerves at ease. I went in and she talked with me and we discussed what i wanted. I brought pictures and she did an awesome job. I saw so many people coming and going and looking good. I felt that all the girls there did a really good job. She had to do some color correction, cover my grays and Balayage Highlights. I felt so pretty when I left.
