Wow!!! I've never been to Buford and my girlfriends asked me to come for dinner. We showed up about 30 minutes before close which I hate doing but they were SO kind to let us eat. We started with dirty martinis and the potato egg rolls. For meals we had shrimp and grits, flatbread, and the seared scallops. Everything was incredible and flavorful!! I love that they give you an option for a half portion or full portion on the entrees. Their bread is amazing and I keep thinking about the shrimp and grits and scallops. I'd definitely go out of my way to come there for dinner again! We ended with espresso martinis that were the perfect dessert to this amazing meal. This is more of an upscale place than I had anticipated. I entered by accident because I thought it was a chicken place, but I ended up with a steak. I also ended up sitting next to a guy at the bar that started asking me questions... "Why are you in town?" "What do you do?" "What made you start writing?" "What was your first story?" "Do you believe in ghosts?" I felt like I was in 'The Buford Zone,' which is kind of like The Twilight Zone but more about creepy dudes with money that ask too many questions. He eventually left once I started playing with my bread as if it was Silly Putty (intentional). As far as the food goes, the steak was very good but a little overpriced. And the sides might have been great but way too fancy for me. I hate getting dressed up and eat pizza and burgers. If I'm in a fancy mood, I go to a casual Italian restaurant for Chicken Parmesan--while wearing jeans and a t-shirt. Service was excellent and this place is clean and comfortable. Enjoyed a delicious dinner here Sunday night. Made reservations ahead and was seated in a great booth lined area once we arrived. Nice wall pictures along every booth wall which gave a very intimate feel. Our servers name was Angel. Angel was very knowledgeable about the menu. He was very respectful and attentive he made a few stops to check on us while we waited for our order. It was a busy night so it took a minute to come out. Angel told us it would be well worth the wait and it was indeed. I ordered the halibut minus the risotto but added mashed potatoes with the caper sauce, my husband enjoyed the shrimp and grits, seafood fondue. All the dishes we tried were perfect in freshness/ flavor. I had heard prior about the Godiva Martini which I decided to try and it was very good as well. Lastly, for dessert we shared a chocolate lava cake with a vanilla scoop and again spot on with flavor. Nice atmosphere and good food. I got the Berry jam chicken sandwich. It was very good and fresh bread. Tip: if you don't like spicy ask for the jam on the side however it wasn't overly spicy. The fish and chips were great and not greasy. The burger was juicy but not a traditional flavor if that's what you're looking for. It was much more of a mild flavor. My family of (3) was so excited about enjoying my birthday at the Aqua Terra Bistro. Nice atmosphere, excellent scallops. But the waitress (Haleigh) herself was just not up to standard.My husband mention to Haleigh we are celebrating my birthday.We came all dressed to enjoy a (5)experience and Haleigh was a flop. She did not once say happy birthday.Not once acknowledged it to me.She was just average.But Haleighmade sure we knew she had two young boys. I believe the bistro it has very nice atmosphere.... I've been a resident of Buford for 20 years. For as long as I can remember Aqua Terra has been my favorite. I have had 15 people here for a Christmas Dinner and I have had lunch by myself. It is rare that have something you don't like here. The food is always cooked by a professional chef and the seasonal flavors make you feel at home. The bread, the bruschetta, the fish, the steaks, the salads, and my favorite the creme brulee...are all great. Service is always on point. Fantastic find. We are in town for a wedding and found Aqua Terra. The food was amazing every plate was so delicious and unexpected. From the citrus in the mustard on the smoked cream cheese. To the creamy shrimp and grits. The servers were also so helpful and accommodating. Jenny was great and Mala was only 4 days on the job and was delightful. One other note. Surprisingly good! A local friend of a friend suggested this place and we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here. It had sort of a New Americana Southern feel and the staff were kind and hospitable. Lucky find! Make sure you have a reservation. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the bread pudding. It was more like thick coffee cake with way way too many nuts. The food is good enough usually, but the current management is extremely rude. My sister was embarrassed by the manager there recently regarding an online coupon they had sent her and then refused to allow because she could not access her email for the "confirmation." He treated a 65-year-old woman like scum to save his restaurant maybe $3, that says everything about what they think of their customers. read more

The restaurant is situated in downtown Buford - we never venture this far out but the reviews were so good we had to try! I really loved the atmosphere - the restaurant was cozy, a little vintage and unique. The menu for lunch offers some appetizers, sandwiches, soups/salads and tacos. We went ahead and ordered the fried calamari that were perfectly cooked and came with a sweet chili sauce. I ordered the Berry Jam Chicken which was a fried chicken sandwich with bacon jam, and my husband got the blackened salmon BLT. You can tell that the restaurant uses good quality products and everything was very fresh. I do feel like it was a little pricey - but everything is nowadays. Our waiter was friendly and checked on us during the meal. Overall, I think this is a pretty decent spot and I would recommend! read more

So I actually stopped here based on a friends recommendation but I was not disappointed. Not only was their buttermilk chicken on point and by that I meant delicious, Tarra who was our server was very warm, friendly, attentive (I say this because I specifically requested certain stuff off my plate and most restaurants get it wrong), and courteous. She deserves more than 5 stars by the way. And also the manager, Hailey, I believe was her name, has the most awesome personality ever. 10/10! We went with a group of 12 for my cousin's birthday dinner and EVERYONE was highly impressed with how good the food was! It was my first time eating shrimp & grits and honestly it set the bar so high! I would now expect for all shrimp and grits that I order in the future to taste close to this. My fiancé also raved about the chicken breast and the fries that he wanted to come back for lunch. The drink was also very strong, which made the night extra good lol. This place is amazing! The menu has something for anyone. I really wanted breakfast food, so I ordered the French Toast, it is served with some very yummy fruit/mixed berries compote. I highly recommend if you like French toast. Others in my group had the steak tacos and seafood omelette, everything looked good and all our plates were clean when we were done. We've been frequenting this restaurant for a few years now since change of ownership. Consistently, their service has been top notch! Nick quickly grew on us when we met him here so much that we followed him to Pig Tales over the summer where we met Jaime- who- guess what? Is at Aqua Terra this winter! Going there now is like running into a group of old friends. Rachel, Nick and Jaime define this restaurant and provide a level of service you just don't see too much anymore. I love how they change their lunch, dinner, drink and wine specials monthly. There is a lobster dinner special this month I haven't had a chance to try yet- but hope to before the month is over. We've had just about everything on the lunch and dinner menu but what's most impressive is the crab cake! It actually tastes like crab! Crazy, I know, but it's kind of a very big deal to properly make a crab cake- and they nailed it. Other great items- for lunch the fish and chips is great. They have a beet salad with goat cheese I get sometimes for lunch or dinner, you can add on a variety of different proteins. Last night (12-30-2024) there were 8 of us celebrating a son-in-law's birthday and Jenny was our server. We reserved one of the private dining rooms for my daughter's Sweet 16 birthday party for 24 guests. We had a brunch menu with several mocktails available. It was exactly what we wanted. We were able to decorate the room in a flower theme and bring in our own birthday dessert to serve. The manager, Kelsea was very kind and quick to respond via email to any questions I had while planning our event. Todd and Ivee were our servers for the party, and they did an excellent job in making sure everyone was happy. The food was amazing, and we could all relax and just enjoy the day.
